At the hospital, Charlie Brown was hooked up to an IV tube, and he felt weak from the pills he had taken at school. Silas, Maureen, and his sister were there. Suddenly, a doctor walked in.
"Hi there. How is he?" Silas said.
"Your son is lucky to be alive. But he needs to stay in the hospital for observation. How many pills did he ingest?" Dr. Trent asked.
"I'll answer that. The Bottle said 60 pills. I basically took the whole bottle." Charlie Brown said.
"Wait, the whole bottle?!" Silas exclaimed in shock.
"Yes, Dad. I did." Charlie Brown said.
"Where did you even get a bottle of pills, anyway?" Silas asked, trying not to freak out.
Then, Charlie Brown gave him the bottle of pills that Charlie Brown takes every three hours.
"That's not like you, Charlie Brown. Look. You're a great kid. You can't go around doing this. You got to learn to stop and think before you do things. Understand?" Silas said, very concerned.
Charlie Brown cried because of his wise words.
"Understand, Dad." Charlie Brown said, very sadly.
"Luckily, he won't have surgery, but tell me. Do you know if he has any anxiety attacks?" Dr. Trent said.
"Well, ever since he got suspended for fighting, he's had a rough time. From being yelled at, to getting into multiple fights. The worst fight he's ever gotten into was when he got smacked by a 10th grader. Ever since then, he's been listening to music which isn't only disturbing, but also dark. Probably the darkest day he's ever had was when he nearly got sent to the emergency room for attacking his own body by bruising himself and overdosing on his pills. My wife witnessed him, and our daughter restrained him before he could hurt himself further. Me and my wife were horrified by that." Silas said.
"I never imagined he would be so sad." Dr. Trent said.
"I know. Do you think he needs a crisis counselor?" Maureen asked.
"I don't think so. Not at the moment. But your son needs to be closely monitored until I am absolutely sure that his mental health is better. Meaning that he should be monitored at home, to make sure he doesn't hurt himself further." Dr. Trent said.
"Maureen and I will make sure that his mental health is taken care of." Silas said.
