Chapter 3
A former Pokemon Trainer (Professor) and His Wife
Viridian City.
The TV News Weather Forecast predicted a winter storm heading towards his hometown, and he could already feel the chill in the air. The streets were lined with people bundled up in cozy coats, gloves, boots, and hats as they prepared for the snowfall. As the first flakes started to fall from the sky, the city lights and lampposts illuminated the snowy landscape.
People and Pokemon alike ventured outside to enjoy the winter wonderland, playing and frolicking in the fresh powder that covered every inch of the Kanto and Johto Regions. It was a beautiful scene of harmony between humans and Pokemon, united by the beautiful scenery of a snowy day.
Strolling along the sidewalk was a familiar face - Ash Ketchum, retired Pokemon Monarch turned Professor of Kanto. A 22-year-old man with a strong sense of responsibility, Ash had just finished shopping at the Viridian City PokeMart and now carried a bag full of essentials.
Making his way from his house to meet with his tutor, Professor Oak, and former rival turned Professor, Gary Oak, for their daily duties as Pokemon Professors.
After their work shifting duties is done, Ash couldn't help but feel tired. "Being a Pokemon Professor is definitely more challenging than I ever imagined," he muttered to himself as he headed back home after a long day.
After my retirement from being a Pokemon Trainer two years ago, I've taken on more responsibilities as an adult, Ash reflected.
On top of that, I now have a wife and daughter to take care of, he added.
The cold winter air nipped at Ash's cheeks as he stood in front of the familiar house in Pallet Town. He could see the lights on inside, and he knocked eagerly, hoping to be let in by his wife, who was waiting for him to return.
"I'm coming! I'm coming!"
As Asuna rushed to the front door, her heart racing with anticipation, she heard the door knocking. She quickly unlocked the door and swung it open, revealing her husband Ash standing on the doorstep. His hair was slightly disheveled, and he had a tired yet content smile on his face. "Oh, Ash! You're finally home," she exclaimed, throwing her arms around him in a tight embrace. Ash chuckled and returned the hug, but she could feel warming on her husband.
"Did you have a long day?" Asuna asked, raising an eyebrow playfully. Ash grinned sheepishly and replied, "You know me too well, my dear. Professor Oak wanted to meet early with Gary, so I went straight there after leaving you a note." Asuna nodded understandingly before giving him a stern look. "And where exactly did you go after that?" she asked pointedly. Ash's face fell slightly as he admitted, "I may have stopped by the bar for a quick drink with Gary but I don't wanna be drunk like him so I didn't drink any alcoholic beverages or cigarettes. You know this my dear. I would rather be staying in healthy body conditions." Asuna couldn't help but laugh at her husband's antics and his breath was fine normal without a smell of alcohol so Asuna believed him.
"Well, come inside now. Our daughter Yui has been eagerly awaiting your return," she said with a soft smile. She stepped aside to let Ash enter their home, feeling grateful that he was back safe and sound.
Inside Ketchum's Residence.
Ash trudged through the front door, his lab coat dusted with a light layer of snow. Asuna's eyes widened in surprise at the sight of her husband covered in white powder. "What happened to you, dear? Here, let me help." She grabbed a towel and began wiping away the snow from Ash's hair and shoulders.
"Let me take that coat off for you," Asuna said as she gently removed the lab coat from Ash's arms. He stretched out his limbs gratefully as she helped him out of it.
"Oh, and I got some groceries while I was out. Did you need anything specific?" Ash asked, handing Asuna his bag.
Asuna nodded eagerly. "I just need hotdogs and cheese for my sweet spaghetti recipe. Thank goodness you found them!" She rummaged through the bag and triumphantly held up the missing ingredients. "Now I can finally cook for our family and friends." She beamed happily, ready to start cooking.
"Alright! I'm so starving so let's g-" Ash said because he was so hungry but He was about to say something when he heard a small voice calling out, "Mama...?" It was their daughter Yui, rubbing her eyes as she woke up from her nap.
She ran towards Ash with excitement, shouting "Papa!" and wrapping her arms tightly around his waist.
Asuna watched with a heartwarming smile as her husband and daughter embraced each other in a familial manner. She couldn't help but feel grateful for this moment, knowing how far they've come as a family. It was a stark contrast to her troubled childhood and little love relationship with her mother, but she had managed to overcome it and make amends between her and Yuuki's Mother.
With tears of joy in her eyes, Asuna joined in the hug, feeling the warmth and love radiating between them. At that moment, she knew that having a happy and peaceful family was the greatest blessing in life.
Asuna and her husband Ash had been through many trials together, including being trapped in the dangerous virtual reality game SAO. But they managed to survive with the help of their friends.
However, Asuna's nightmare continued when she was trapped in ALO by her ex-fiance, Nobuyuki Sugō. She felt hopeless until Ash Ketchum and Kirito came to her rescue, putting Sugō behind bars for his crimes.
Ash was Asuna's hopeful rescuer, pulling her out of the darkness and into the light. She was like a bird freed from its cage, finally finding peace and happiness thanks to the man who was like a knight in shining armor to her. As they embraced after being apart for so long, she knew that all the hardships were worth it.
Her husband's voice brought her back to reality. "Asuna? Are you okay?"
She blushed and quickly composed herself. "Oh, sorry. I was just lost in my thoughts."
"Don't worry, you must've been working hard. Take a break and rest," Asuna said as Ash nodded but he says "I can rest but I felt not sleep yet, my dear. I have some extra energy left in my tank. Hehe"
Asuna giggled, His energetic never get tired of him and she was glad, she could relax and enjoy her new life with Ash Ketchum by her side. She went to the kitchen and prepare to start some cooking Sweet Sphagettis for the whole family.
Yui grabbed her dad by the hem of his shirt,as Ash turned toward her "What is it, Yui?"
"Papa! Can we play ALO together? Aunt Leafa and Aunt Sinon can join us!" Yui said in excitement
Ash's eyes lit up at the request but he quickly deflated. "I'm sorry, Yui. They're busy with their own right now in their own world." Disappointment washed over Yui's face as she lowered her head.
But then, Ash pulled out PS4 Game CD and a big grin spread across his face. "But guess what? There's a brand new game called Genshin Impact that just came out. Do you want to try it together?"
Yui's face instantly brightened as she jumped up and down in excitement. "Yes, please!"
Asuna joined in on the conversation from the kitchen. "Sounds interesting. I'd love to try it too, but cooking for my family comes first."
Ash leaned in closer to his wife, Asuna, and asked with a sly grin, "So, how's your friend Kirito doing? You two seem pretty close."
Asuna chuckled and replied, "Don't worry about it, my dear. Kirito and I are just friends. Besides, he's more like a brother to you than anything else. And actually, he and Sinon are dating now after GGO."
Ash's jealousy dissipated as Asuna mentioned their upcoming dinner plans with Kirito and Sinon. "I'm not jealous, I was just curious," Ash said playfully as he turned his attention to their daughter Yui. "Yui, can you go set up the game console in the living room? We're playing between you and me together tonight." Yui nodded eagerly and headed off to the living room, leaving Ash and Asuna alone to enjoy their evening.
A bright yellow mouse Pokemon bounded down the stairs, its cheeks sparking with electricity. It was Ash's best friend and partner in crime, Pikachu. "Pikapi!" he cried, jumping into Ash's arms.
"Hey there buddy! It's been too long since you've slept on my bed. Let's have some fun," Ash said, playfully tickling Pikachu's belly.
Pikachu squirmed and giggled as Ash continued to tickle him, their bond evident in their playful interactions. They had been through so much together, ever since Ash first met Pikachu on the first day of his journey.
Asuna smiled at the sight of the two of them, enjoying their special bond. She watched as Ash finally stopped tickling Pikachu when he told him to enough. Asuna went back to the kitchen.
"Okay, okay, I'll stop. Go on to the living room, buddy. Yui is already setting up some video games for us," Ash said, patting Pikachu's head.
"Pika!" Pikachu nodded happily and scampered off towards the living room where Yui was waiting for them.
Ash let out a satisfied sigh as all that is taken care of. He made his way to the kitchen, where Asuna was still cooking the pasta and other one was the sphagetti sauce with meatballs.
"I can't wait to try your sweet spaghetti, Honey" he said with a chuckle. Asuna giggled and gave him a playful wink, her chef's hat perched proudly on her head. "You'll never have any regrets with me as your wife," she said with a smile, giving him a warm hug before returning to her cooking.
The conversation between husband and wife came to an end, and Ash decided to go back to the living room where Yui and Pikachu are waiting for him but before he would go. Asuna followed him and grabbed onto the hem of his shirt.
Ash turned to face her, a questioning look on his face. "Is there anything else you want to ask me, my dear?" he asked, wanting to hear her thoughts.
Without hesitation, Asuna leaned in and kissed him on the lips. Ash's eyes widened in surprise but he quickly reciprocated, wrapping his arms around her waist.
It was a familiar routine for the couple, just like any other married couple would do. They broke apart after a few moments, breathless but smiling at each other.
Asuna's smile softened as she spoke. "I wouldn't have made it out of that dark place without you by my side. Thank you for everything, my love," she said sincerely, expressing her gratitude for all that he had done for her.
Ash pulled Asuna into a tight embrace, his chest heaving with exertion. "I did everything I could to save you," he said "You kept me going with your encouragement and advice. And now that we've come out alive, I feel like we've saved each other," he added
Asuna's cheeks flushed as she looked up at Ash's determined face, still wearing his signature cap despite the chaos. "You always had so much energy and determination," she chuckled. "It's what keeps me going too."
He smiled at her words, relieved that she hadn't changed despite all they'd been through even Ash hadn't changed himself. "We promised to protect each other, no matter what," he reminded her.
"Yes, we did," she replied, a hint of mischief in her voice. "And not just ourselves, but others too."
Ash couldn't help but laugh at her playful nature. "That's why I'll always be here for you," he said sincerely.
Asuna leaned in closer to him, feeling grateful for their unbreakable bond. "I'm glad you're still by my side," she whispered.
"Me too," Ash replied, pressing a kiss to her forehead. "No matter what happens, the memories of our journey will always stay with us."
Asuna nodded in agreement with Ash, her mind flooded with memories from their time in SAO. "Why don't you go hang out in the living room with Yui and Pikachu for a while?" she suggested with a gentle smile. "I have some things to take care of before Kirito and Sinon arrive."
Ash nodded and gave Asuna a quick kiss on the cheek before heading off to join Yui and Pikachu in the living room.
"Papa! We're playing now. Where are you?" Yui's high-pitched voice echoed through the house as she searched for her dad. Ash, who had just started playing Genshin Impact, heard his daughter and Pikachu calling for him. "Pika Pika!"
"Alright, alright! I'm coming. Daddy is coming!" He quickly made his way to the living room, where Yui was now sitting in front of the TV with Pikachu by her side, both fully immersed in the game. Asuna stood in the doorway, admiring the scene of her husband and daughter bonding over their shared love for video games. She smiled and turned towards the kitchen, where she began preparing a delicious meal for them all to enjoy after their gaming session.
The End.
