Chapter 4: Revelations.

After Peach tucked Berry back into bed, Peach exited the room. Her mind racing with the revelation that Bowser had been deceiving Berry, creating a false narrative about her being the girl's mother. The emotional weight of the situation pressed upon her, but she knew she had to confront Bowser and unveil the truth. As Peach navigated the labyrinthine corridors of Bowser's castle, she encountered the peculiar Shy Gal maids again.

"Princess Peach, is everything alright?" One of them asked.

Peach, her expression serious, replied, "No, it's not. I need to talk to Bowser immediately." The maids exchanged glances, seemingly surprised by Peach's assertiveness. Nevertheless, they led her to the throne room where Bowser was overseeing the preparations for his plan, unaware of Peach's newfound knowledge.

Bowser, sensing Peach's presence, turned toward her with a smirk. "Well, look who decided to grace us with her presence. Ready to be my queen, Peach?"

Peach, unyielding, retorted, "Bowser, we need to talk. About Berry."

Bowser raised an eyebrow, momentarily caught off guard by Peach's stern demeanor. "What about her?"

"She's not my daughter, Bowser. You've been lying to her, creating a false story. I never wrote that letter. I never knew about her until today," Peach declared, her voice unwavering.

"Do you like what I did?" Bowser smiled. Peach, undeterred by Bowser's attempt to shift the conversation, maintained her composure. "This isn't about liking or disliking, Bowser. It's about the truth. Berry deserves to know the truth."

Bowser, still wearing a confident grin, crossed his arms. "The truth, huh? Well the truth is that you are her mother."

"I am not!" Peach protested.

"Indeed you are, have you not noticed that she looks like you with horns and a tail?"

"How did you?"

"I took some of your DNA, added mine, and a Kammy Koopa created her. She's your daughter."

Peach's eyes widened in shock and anger. "You manipulated her existence? Created her without my knowledge or consent? That's not how parenthood works, Bowser!"

Bowser, getting defensive, bellowed, "You think you know what's best for her? You, who's never been a parent?"

Peach, undeterred, responded, "No, I don't claim to be an expert on parenting. But I know that lying to your child and manipulating their life is not the way to go about it. Children deserve honesty and the freedom to make their own choices."

The Shy Gal maids, witnessing the tense exchange, exchanged worried glances, realizing the gravity of the situation unfolding before them.

"What am I lying about? You are her mother!"

"The letter for one!" Peach continued, her frustration evident. "You pretended I wrote a letter to Berry, inviting her to the Mushroom Kingdom. That's a manipulation of her emotions. And creating her without my knowledge, that's a violation of trust."

"You never trusted me to began with. You can violate something that doesn't exist!"

Peach took a deep breath, trying to keep her composure. "Trust is earned, Bowser. You can't force it. What you did was not only a betrayal of my trust but also a violation of Berry's right to know her own origins."

"You never trusted me in the first place so I didn't violate anything. And I told Berry that you're her mom. That's the truth about her origins!"

Peach, frustrated but composed, countered, "Telling her a lie doesn't make it the truth, Bowser. Yes, I may not have trusted you completely, but that doesn't excuse what you did. Berry deserves to know the real story, not a fabricated one."

"I told her that you're her mother. I did not lie to her."

Peach, resolute, responded, "But you lied about the circumstances, about my involvement. Berry deserves the whole truth, Bowser. I won't stand by while she's kept in the dark and manipulated."

"Then marry me so we can all be a family." Bowser said.

Peach, taken aback by Bowser's unexpected proposal, paused for a moment. The tension in the room escalated as she considered the weight of his words. "Is that the reason why you created Berry? To use her as a way to get me to marry you? You're using Berry. How could you?"

"I...I didn't create Berry just for that," Bowser stammered, attempting to regain composure. "I genuinely wanted her to have a good life, to be part of a family. I thought if we were together, it would be better for her."

Peach, still seething with anger and betrayal, shook her head. "Using a child to manipulate someone into marriage is beyond reprehensible, Bowser. Relationships are built on trust and truth."

Bowser, growing irritated, retorted, "What would you know about relationships, Peach? You're always playing the damsel in distress, waiting for Mario to save you."

Peach stood tall, her resolve unbroken. "I know that trust and honesty are the cornerstones of any real relationship. I won't let you continue to deceive Berry. She deserves to know the truth about her origins."

"Say what you will. This can all be solved if you marry me." Bowser said.

"Bowser, marriage won't erase the deception and manipulation. This is not about our relationship; it's about Berry knowing the truth about her origins." Peach replied, her tone firm.

"It is about us. All three of us."

Peach, unwavering, shook her head. "No, Bowser. Using a child as a pawn in our relationship is not the solution. Berry deserves honesty, and I won't compromise her well-being for the sake of a forced family."

Bowser, frustrated and unwilling to yield, insisted, "You're being stubborn, Peach. We can give her a family, a stable home. Don't you want that for her?"

Peach sighed, "Of course, I want Berry to have a loving and stable environment, but building a family on lies is not the answer. I won't let her be a part of a facade. We need to be honest with her, and then we can figure out the best way forward."

"No."

Peach, surprised by Bowser's abrupt refusal, furrowed her brow. "No? Bowser, we can't keep deceiving Berry. It's not fair to her."

Bowser, defiant, crossed his arms. "I won't give up on the idea of us being a family. Marry me, and we can make it work."

Peach shook her head, resolute. "Bowser, you can't force a family through manipulation. I won't marry you just to fulfill some scheme. Berry deserves a genuine family, not one built on lies."

Bowser, frustrated and unwilling to back down, retorted, "You're just as stubborn as ever, Peach. I won't let you ruin this. What she doesn't know won't hurt her."

Peach, maintaining her unwavering stance, looked at Bowser with a mix of disappointment and determination. "Bowser, keeping the truth from Berry will hurt her more in the long run. She deserves to know who she is and where she comes from. I won't let you continue this deception."

"Peach is right." One of the Shy Gal maids spoke up unexpectedly. "Deception can only lead to pain in the end. Berry deserves to know her true story."

Bowser shot the maid a fierce look. "Stay out of this, you!"

"But your Majesty." Another spoke up, "Berry deserves to know the truth about her origins. It's not fair to deceive her."

Bowser glared at the maid, his anger palpable. "And I suppose you agree with her?"

The maids nodded, "For Berry's sake, yes." They said.

Bowser, realizing Peach's and his maid's firm resolve, sighed in frustration. "Fine, tell her if you must. But don't expect me to give up on us being a family."

Peach, with a determined nod, left the throne room, knowing that the challenging part was yet to come. The revelation would undoubtedly shake Berry's world, but Peach was going to do everything she can to help the young princess, and build a future based on trust and understanding.
