Athena, the name of a great goddess and this place he had stumbled upon is called the Royal Garden. It was all fascinating for Hayate there. A girl that looked like she could be a princess lived in this huge castle all by herself, his impression of her was that the word divine fit her perfectly. She seems somehow mystical and other worldly, he didn't know where to point it, but she was very mature as a 10 year old. There was also this warmness and gentleness that captivated him.
"I will let you call me A-tan, if you work as my butler." Athena says to him Hayate's pessimism did not disappear because he was interested in working as a butler, and having nowhere else to go.
"Can I really do it?" He asked, Athena gave him a reassuring smile.
"You can after all..." She says, then suddenly Athena had leaned in and kissed him on the lips, taking him by complete surprise but nonetheless he kissed her back as they pulled away their faces were red.
"I want to talk with you more." She told him, and at that moment he understood why he agreed it was because he wanted to see more of her smile. It was like a dream . If this was a dream then he never wants to wake up from it, he turns to Athena beside him.
"Good morning, Atan." He greeted her as she had sat up from her bed, and rubbed the sleep from her eyes. He noticed that she seemed rather weak.
"Are you okay Atan?" He asked.
"Not really okay, I'm very weak in the morning. It's bad for me until the evening." She told him.
"Th…that's really good." He says, and begins to get up from the bed.
"Well, since I decided to be your butler from today, if you need anything, just hurry up and tell me…" He told her.
"If you say so then Hayate, when I get up…" She began and closed her eyes then leaned into him.
"Huh? What is it? Do you have a headache?" He asked her, she opened her eyes and looked at him upset.
"That's not it, a…morning kiss sort of that." She says both of the children blushed, but still Hayate complained to her wishes after she threatened to hurt him he leaned in grabbing her shoulders then kissed her lips. It was short, but enjoyable to both of them.
Athena began to teach him the ways of being a butler her first order was to prepare a bath for her she told him to fill the tub with a bucket of water, Hayate was struggled on carrying the bucket to the bathroom and as he was dragging it the bucket had suddenly slip out of his hold and flew towards Athena, and leaned over her head soaking her.
"Geez, you can't even carry just one bucket." She told him.
"I'm…I'm sorry…" He says.
"Hayate, what made you decide to be my butler?" She suddenly asked him, he had his back turned to give her privacy.
"Parents are just thieves. I don't have many friends because of them, so I run away. I don't have a place to stay and also Atan, I wanted to see you smile more." He told her Athena got up from the tub and wrapped a towel around herself and she pulled apart the shower curtain.
"Hayate, take off your clothes." She suddenly told him.
"Eh!? What?" He says face red.
"Just the top part. Hurry up and take it off!" She told him.
"Atan, you pervert!" He says, but Athena had other plans: she wanted to use her powers to unleash his full potential; she wanted to boost his confidence no matter how little it was.
