Arthur's note - I DO NOT own Harry Potter or any characters associated with the works of J.K. Rowling. The timeline isn't going to follow the books or movies because this is an AU obviously so some events that I still have taking place might be sooner or later. Also some conversations might happen a little differently or with different characters, I will let you guys know what's different. You will start to see issues arising in this chapter and I quite like still including some major events from the books but different reasoning behind them. I hope you all had wonderful holidays and enjoy this chapter :)! Sorry for the super late update. See chapter's end for additional notes.

Before the students of Hogwarts knew it the first week of school had gone by, and they were halfway through the second, When Harry and Haley woke up on Thursday they were excited to see the notice left on the dining table stating that their first flying lessons would begin at 3:40 in the afternoon that day, Harry excited to fly and Haley excited to have another class with her brother. She also knew Harry had to be extremely excited because for unknown reasons their fathers hadn't let them fly on a broom yet.

'You just wait and see Haley, I'm gonna be the best flyer there ever was in Hogwarts history.' Harry proclaimed excitedly as they made their way down to breakfast. 'I'll be the best seeker there ever was, you just wait and see.'

Haley rolled her eyes fondly and shook her head as she said, 'Harry first years can't join the team, and don't you want to be a chaser like our dad?'

'No I want to catch the snitch, and win the game.' Harry said with a twinkle in his eyes, Haley laughed lightly as they continued to the great hall.

Haley saw Harry walking with Ron and the other boys in Gryffindor up ahead, she picked up her pace to catch up with them.

'Harry!' She shouted, causing the boys to turn towards her.

She smiled as she caught up to them which slowly disappeared as she approached the group and Eric Garner, a Gryffindor boy said.

'Look at the little snake all alone.' Causing Nicole Knight, another girl in Gryffindor, to snicker as she approached the group.

'No surprises there.' She declared, earning a glare from Harry.

The two Gryffindors cackled in delight as they walked on, Harry walked over to Haley, waving off the others, Ron ignored his wave and went to comfort Haley as well.

'Don't worry about those tossers Hay, they don't get along that well with anyone.' Ron said to the witch.

'It's alright, not the worst I've gotten so far.' Haley said with a shrug. Harry and Ron exchanged worried looks with each other at this.

'What's this I hear about Harry being the worst flyer now?' Draco said as he approached the group swinging his arm around Haley's shoulder's

'Oi, Malfoy, don't try and persuade us to believe your flying is any better.' Harry said in jest.

'Really Potter, you think you would be better than any Pureblood or Slytherin.' Richard Moore, a Slytherin boy stated as he passed by the group.

'Well I guess we have to question your blood status then Draco.' Harry cooed at the boy.

Causing Draco to glare as Haley, Ron, and Harry laughed. As they approached the smooth, flat lawn on the opposite side of the grounds to the forbidden forest, they could see the twenty-one broom-sticks lying in neat lines on the ground. Harry had heard Fred and George Weasley, Ron's older brother's, complain about the school brooms, saying that some of them started to vibrate if you flew too high, or always flew slightly to the left.

Their teacher, Madam Hooch, arrived. She had short, gray hair, and yellow eyes like a hawk.

'Well, what are you all waiting for?' she barked. 'Everyone stand by a broomstick. Come on, hurry up.'

The Slytherin's all stood to one side and the Gryffindor's the other, minus Haley who stood next to Harry at the end of the Gryffindor line. She glanced down at her broom, eyeing the twigs that stuck out at odd angles, not really trusting the broom to function properly.

'Stick out your right hand over your broom,' called Madam Hooch at the front, 'and say 'Up!''

'UP!' everyone shouted.

Haley was disappointed to see her broom merely wriggle on the ground, and had to say up a few more times before it flew into her hand. But she couldn't help but beam at Harry when his shot right into his hand on his first try. Haley focused back on Madam Hooch as she demonstrated how to properly mount a broom, and then walked up and down the rows correcting students' stances, Harry snickered at Draco when she corrected his mount causing said Slytherin to stick his tongue out at the boy.

'Now, when I blow my whistle, you kick off from the ground, hard,' said Madam Hooch. 'Keep your brooms steady, rise a few feet, and then come straight back down by leaning forward slightly. On my whistle – three – two –'

But Neville, nervous and jumpy and frightened of being left on the ground, pushed off hard before the whistle had touched Madam Hooch's lips.

'Come back, boy' she shouted

Haley watched in slight horror as Neville rose into the air higher and higher, if she had to guess how high she would've said about twenty feet. Haley saw his horror stricken face and watched him gasp as he looked at the ground. Watched his grip slip, and suddenly Neville was sliding off his broom and towards the ground. Haley flinched as she heard a nasty crack once he hit the ground and looked up in time to see the broom drift off towards the forbidden forest.

'Broken wrist,' Haley heard Madam Hooch say. 'Come on, boy – it's all right, up you get.'

She turned to the rest of the class.

'None of you is to move while I take this boy to the hospital wing! You leave those brooms where they are or you'll be out of Hogwarts before you can say 'Quidditch.' Come on, dear.'

No sooner than when they were out of earshot did Richard Moore burst into laughter.

'Did you look at his face, that great lump?'

Daphne Greengrass,Vincent Crabbe, Millicent Bulstrode, and Gregory Goyle joined in with snickers and their own comments.

'Some Gryffindor, the second he started to rise you would've thought he was a ghost.' Greengrass barked out.

'Shut up, Greengrass' snapped Parvati Patil.

'Ohhh, what's this?' Millicent Bulstrode cooed, 'Never would've crossed my mind that you'd like a fat little cry-baby, Parvati.'

'Oi look!' Goyle said as he snatched something from the ground.

'It's that stupid thing his grandma sent him this morning!' Crabbe barked out.

Haley moved past the Slytherin girl in front of her, Heather Burgess, so she could see what he was holding up. Haley recognized it from a magazine, it was a Remembrall. You hold it tight and if it turns red then that means you've forgotten something, and from the little time Haley has known the boy she could agree with his gran that he needed one. Richard Moore snatched it from Goyle and said.

'Maybe if he had held onto this he would've remembered to fall on his fat arse.'

'Give it here, Moore,' Harry said quietly approaching the Slytherin. All conversations stopped to watch.

Moore moved closer to Harry, nose practically touching his as he said in a nasty tone.

'Nah, I think I'll leave it somewhere else for Longbottom to find – how about the roof?' He shouted.

'Give it here!' Harry shouted.

But it was too late, Haley watched in slight horror as Moore jumped onto his broom and flew up high and before anyone could stop him Harry jumped on and followed suit. They were too far into the sky for anyone to hear their conversation but Haley watched as Harry lunged towards the other boy, she couldn't tell if he was trying to knock him off his broom or if he was just trying to get Neville's Remembrall.

'Wow I guess Harry wasn't lying when he said he was an amazing flyer.' Draco said next to Haley, slight awe in his voice.

'Well, only partially,' Haley said, causing the boy to give her a look of confusion. 'This is Harry's first time flying, unless you count a toy broom when we were toddlers.' Haley laughed as she said the last part.

'You're kidding.' Draco said stunned, Haley watched as his eyes went wide as she shook her head and laughed.

Her laughter quickly turned into a gasp as she watched Moore throw Neville's Remembrall across the sky towards the castle. Haley was certain that it would shatter from the impact with the building, but before it could reach the building Harry zoomed forward and caught the ball, everyone burst into cheers around Haley, minus the group of the snide Slytherins.

'That was an amazing catch, did you see that?!' Theo exclaimed.

'Harry might be onto something saying he's gonna become Hogwarts best seeker.' Ron beamed.

Before Haley could say anything to Harry as he touched the ground, her heart sank as she looked over and saw Professor McGonagall approach the group of students in a stern stride.

'HARRY POTTER!'

Oh no Haley thought, 'Professor it's not his fault,' she began but McGonagall held up her hand causing the witch to go silent, and silencing anyone else before they could say anything in Harry's defence.

'Never in all my years,' She began, Haley didn't hear the rest of it as a deafening ringing in her ears appeared. She watched as McGonagall led Harry away from the group and into the castle, she began to shake her head. 'No, no no.' Haley thought. 'This is it Harry is gonna be expelled from Hogwarts, there's nothing I can do, nothing our fathers can do, this isn't fair, Richard Moore should be the one in trouble not Harry.' She began shaking her head more violently and covered her ears and face with her arms backing up as Draco tried talking to her. She stopped suddenly as she backed up right into somebody else and began to lose her balance.

'Woah, easy there Potter.' Blaise said, grabbing onto her elbows to help her catch her balance.

'Sorry Blaise.' Haley muttered still with a far off distant look.

'If I didn't know any better I'd say you were upset Harry finally found a class he could best you in.' Blaise teased, tilting his head slightly to the left.

Said witch smiled slightly as she said 'Yeah, and of course he has to go and be all dramatic about it, what a show off.' Haley rolled her eyes and shook her head slightly at the taller boy.

Blaise smiled at her as Madam Hooch approached the group of students.

'Where's Harry Potter gone off to?' she asked after looking at the group.

'He decided to show off his flying skills and got caught by Professor McGonagall.' Moore remarked quickly before anyone else could.

'That's not what happened –' Haley began, only for Madam Hooch to cut her off.

'Now I know he's your brother, but that is no excuse to lie Miss Potter, 5 points from Slytherin.' Madam Hooch said.

'But Madam –' Hermione Granger began.

'Would you like house points taken away as well Miss Granger?' She warned

Hermione just looked down defeated and shook her head.

'Very well then, now let's get back to it shall we.'

The rest of the flying lesson went by uneventfully, Haley discovered that she wasn't as naturally gifted at flying as Harry was. She was slightly relieved that said boy wasn't there to see her struggle; she was certain she would never hear the end of it if he was. After they were dismissed, Haley didn't bother saying goodbye to anyone as she ran to her and Harry's tower to find out what had happened, only to be disappointed to discover he wasn't there.

Haley left the tower and went searching for Harry all over the castle, looking everywhere she could think of for the boy, as she was wandering the dungeons, even though she doubted that her brother would be there. She was suddenly shoved to the side, she looked around to see who had done it, seeing Greengrass, Crabbe, and Goyle.

'What do you want?' Haley said, trying to shove past them. But Crabbe and Goyle stood in front of her and wouldn't let her by.

'I want you to stop flirting with Blaise.' Greengrass sneered.

Haley stopped trying to get past them, confused, she asked.

'What are you on about?'

'Don't play dumb, I saw you throw yourself against him after your brother left, it's sickening.'

'Um, what, I bumped into him, Greengrass. We're only 11. Why would I want to date him, don't you think we're a little young?' she questioned the girl.

'See Potter that's where you and I disagree.' She smirked, 'I've been fostering him to be my boyfriend since we were five and I sure as hell am not gonna have a little wanna-be Slytherin come along and ruin it for me.'

Haley tired of listening to the other girls ramblings and just wanting to find her brother snapped and said.

'Oh really doesn't seem like you did a good job because he just doesn't seem interested in you Daphne.' She cooed out her first name with a smirk.

Before she knew it Daphne slapped Haley across the face with the palm of her hand with such force and the shock of it, it caused the smaller girl to fall down. Before she could get back up Crabbe and Goyle each gave her a couple of swift kicks to the ribs, Daphne towered over her as she said.

'Stay out of my way Potter or else.' and gave her one last forceful kick before her and her goons crept further into the dungeons.

Haley groaned as she held her ribcage that was sure to bruise come morning and crawled towards the wall, propping herself up against it. She wouldn't cry, not here, not out in the open, she just couldn't. She let her head thump against the wall as she waited for the pain to subside. She knew she should go to the hospital wing and get fixed but she couldn't bring herself to, no not with Harry already in trouble she couldn't stress their fathers out any more. She didn't know how long she sat there for before she heard voices coming down the corridor. She quickly straightened her robes and looked to see who it was.

'Oi Potter, you know there are plenty of places to sit, much better than the floor.' Theo said, though he plopped down next to her anyways.

'Maybe I thought this was the best way to avoid seeing you dear Theodore.' Haley scrunched her nose as she said this. Causing Theo to lightly shove her in return, Haley tried her best to cover her wince.

'You missed dinner, is this where you've been?' Pansy asked. At this Haley glanced up, to see Draco, Blaise, and Pansy standing in front of Theo and Haley.

'Yeah I was looking for Harry all afternoon and kinda gave up here and just plopped against the floor.' Haley shrugged.

'He was at dinner, I think he went to your tower after to find you.' Draco supplied.

'Wait does that mean Harry isn't expelled?!' Haley all but shouted.

'I guess not.' Theo chuckled as he pushed himself up.

Haley began to get up with a bit of struggling before Blaise and Theo each grabbed her by her elbows and pulled her up.

'Alright there, Hay?' Blaise asked.

'Yeah, my leg just fell asleep from sitting too long.' Haley tried shrugging non-chalantly. 'Do you guys wanna come back to my tower with me and see what's up?'

'No I don't think your brother is too comfortable with us yet, besides dear Dray here.' Pansy replied, patting his arm.

Draco rolled his eyes and shoved her slightly as he said.

'I'll keep Haley company.'

Haley and Draco waved goodbye to the others and Haley held out her arm to Draco.

'My liege.' Haley said in a teasing voice with a slight bow that caused her more pain.

Draco chuckled as he grabbed her arm and they made their way back to what's now known as Potter's Tower.

'This is so cool and so unfair Harry.' Ron moaned as he and Harry walked to Potter's Tower. 'I mean you're the youngest Seeker in a century Harry, do you know how insane this is?'

'I'm just glad I wasn't expelled.' Harry laughed. 'Plus I can't wait to tell Haley she was just saying this morning that first years aren't allowed to play.'

'I mean normally they aren't, but after seeing you fly I'm not surprised.' Ron smiled at Harry as they approached the portrait of the deers.

After the door swung open they stepped inside and Harry called Haley's name only to be disappointed when there was no response. Him and Ron shrugged, they checked up stairs, pushing Haley's door open, shrugging once more and making their way back downstairs.

'Want to play Wizard's Chess?' Ron asked.

'I guess I could beat you for a couple games while we wait for Haley.' Harry said with a smirk that disappeared as Ron said.

'We might graduate before you manage to beat me in a game of chess.'

'Hey.' Harry said, giving Ron a shove as they sat at the table to begin playing.

'Are you okay?' Draco broke the silence as they walked through the halls of Hogwarts.

'What do you mean?' Haley said nonchalantly.

'Really Haley, are you gonna act like you're not breathing like you just ran around the Black Lake a few times.' Draco said, coming to a stop and looking at the small witch.

Haley looked around quickly and then pulled Draco behind the tapestry that was hanging next to them.

'Can you keep a secret?' Haley whispered.

'Yes, just get out with it Hay.' Draco urged.

Haley chewed on her lip for a second as she thought.

'Okay,' she began, 'You know how Daphne and Blaise are kinda a thing?'

'No. I know she follows him around like a puppy in the hopes they'll become a "thing"' Draco said with air quotes.

'What?' Haley was taken aback, 'But she.' Haley started to look off into the distance.

'She what?' Draco said, jerking her slightly causing her to wince in pain.

'Okay well when I was in the dungeons looking for Harry, she cornered me with Crabbe and Goyle and told me to stop flirting with Blaise because he was basically her boyfriend.'

'What, has she gone mental?' Draco exclaimed quietly.

'That's what I thought, I told her she was ridiculous, I mean come on we're eleven, I get having a crush maybe but I don't think any of us would know how to flirt if we wanted to.'

'Speak for yourself Potter.' Draco said, fixing his collar, causing Haley to laugh slightly, once again causing her to wince. 'That still doesn't explain why you're in pain.'

'Well she might have slapped me, and I fell down when she did, and then Crabbe and Goyle kicked me a bit, and Daphne told me to stop or else.' Haley paraphrased.

'What!' Draco took out his wand and muttered 'Lumos' to get a better look at the girl, the poor lightening of Hogwarts didn't allow the boy to see the angry red mark on her face but it was evident now.

'When did you learn that Draco, we aren't supposed to learn it until November?' She questioned the boy.

He gently pushed her face to the side to get a better look as he said.

'I figured it's a useful spell to learn in the awful lighting of this castle. Merlin Potter, we should get you to the hospital wing. If your face is as red as a Gryffindor's robes I can only imagine what your ribs would look like.'

'Noo,' Haley hissed, 'I can't. Even if Harry isn't in trouble I don't want him and my fathers to worry about me. I'll be fine.'

Draco looked at the girl and sighed as he pulled a small vial of a blood red liquid from the pockets of his robes.

'Here.' He said handing it to the girl, 'I always carry some healing potion with me, you never know when your father will get mad.'

Haley removed the cork and sniffed the potion before taking a deep breath and swallowing the potion. Haley rubbed her tongue against her teeth a couple of times to get the taste of the potion off and sighed when it lingered. She could already feel the pain in her face disappear and her ribcage felt slightly better.

'Thanks Dray.' Haley smiled softly at the boy, 'But does your father hit you?'

Draco looked down a bit realising his mistake.

'Doesn't matter Potter.' Draco said pushing out of the tapestry 'You should be able to get to the tower on your own now.'

And just like that he was gone, as Haley stepped back out into the open all she could see was his retreating back. She sighed worried for her friend, she knew his father was cruel but hadn't realised to what extent. She played with the empty vial in her hands as she walked the rest of the way to the tower. How awful did his dad have to be that Draco still carried around a healing potion, did he have to use it that often for it to become a habit? Haley got lost in her thoughts as she continued back to her tower.

Harry threw his hands in the air once more as Ron beat him at another game of chess.

'Not fair, you have to be cheating somehow.' Harry exclaimed.

'Just admit that you are rubbish at this Harry.' Ron exclaimed with a smile, 'We could always play exploding snap instead.'

Before Harry could respond the entrance swung open and Haley stumbled into the common room catching her balance with one of the sofa's arms.

'Haley where were you?!' Harry exclaimed, jumping up and running to the girl.

'I was out looking for you, Draco said he thought you came back here after dinner.' Haley waved hi to Ron as he came over to them. 'Does this mean you're not expelled!'

'No actually, you'll never believe this–' But before Harry could finish his sentence the fireplace burst to life and Remus and Sirius burst through into the common room.

'Papa!' 'Dad!' Harry and Haley exclaimed as they ran to their fathers, jumping into their arms and hugging them tight.

'Dumbledor just told us the news, Harry –' Remus began, only to be cut off by Sirius.

'The youngest Seeker in a century Harry!' He exclaimed, picking Harry up and swinging him all around the room. 'And you get to play for Gryffindor, I have never been prouder.'

'Wait Harry really!' Haley shouted, grabbing Harry into a big hug the second their papa put him down.

Remus looked over and noticed Ron for the first time.

'Oh hello, who might you be?' Remus said, extending out his hand.

'Ron, Ron Weasley.' Replied the boy shaking Remus's hand.

'Your father's a good man.' Remus said, 'I'm glad you're friends with my fawn.'

Ron beamed at the man.

'But if you would excuse us we have some serious talks to be had with them.' Remus said.

'Sure, bye Harry, bye Haley.' Ron said as he ducked out.

'Sit down the both of you.' Sirius said, pointing to the couch.

Harry and Haley exchanged a look as they walked over and plopped down on the couch.

'First of all, we're not mad that you guys don't technically have a house, we told you that in our letters but we wanted you to hear it in person.' Remus began.

At this Harry and Haley perked up a bit.

'But we are disappointed in you,' Sirius continued. 'Harry this could have gone a lot differently, and Haley you're supposed to be looking out for him not letting him do stupid things.'

'But it wasn't his fault Richard Moore took Neville's Remembrall and Harry was just trying to get it back.' Haley jumped to his defence.

'There had to be a better way to handle the situation, Haley you know that.' Remus said gently.

'There wasn't, Madam Hooch had taken Neville to the hospital wing, Moore would've broken it if I hadn't gotten it back.' Harry whined

'Listen what's done is done, just promise you'll stay out of trouble okay.' Remus said.

'Oaky we promise.' Harry and Haley said in unison.

'Good, now we asked Dumbledor to set your fireplace up with the floo network for emergencies only okay.' Remus said.

"We're only one call away, just don't make a habit of it okay.' Sirius finished kissing each of them on top of their heads.

Harry and Haley told their fathers all about their first two weeks of school the rest of the night. Remus and Sirius smiled through it all, even their reenactment of Harry's saving catch that afternoon. They hated having to say goodbye to them again but they sent them to bed with promises to send plenty of letters and stepped back into Grimmauld Place. Harry dreamt of catching the snitch, and winning the Quidditch cup that night. He couldn't wait to make his parents proud.

Arthur's Notes - Hello I hope you enjoyed this chapter, sorry it took so long I had a bit of writer's block for a while. Happy Holiday's. I just wanted to apologise for most of this chapter being from Haley's POV, my main reasoning for this is not wanting to copy from the book too much, so you could pretty much imagine the scenes I left out going pretty much the same from Harry's POV just switch Malfoy for Moore, and imagine Harry already knowing about Quidditch and his dad playing on the team obviously. Also I know in the book Malfoy says he'll leave it in a tree not the roof but I prefer them saying on the roof. Anyway's let me know what you thought, I hope to have the next chapter posted a lot sooner than this one.
