Lois stretched out on the couch of their apartment, casually watching something on the television when she heard the familiar sound of Clark landing in their apartment.

Clark called out a vague greeting and immediately went to shower, leaving his suit laying around the bedroom (which Lois knew meant that he was exhausted – she was usually the slob in their relationship).

Lois decided to tidy up his suit and put it away for him but when she came across his cape, she couldn't help but just wrap it around her shoulders, remembering the number of times when he's had to save her from the situations she kept putting herself in, and he would wrap his cape around her as he held her to keep her warm.

When Clark finally exited from his marathon shower, he found Lois sitting on their bed, his cape engulfing her.

"Hey, what do you think?" She stood from the bed and moved the cape so that she was holding it on her shoulders, allowing it to drape down her back the way it did him. It pooled around her feet in a way that made Clark smile softly at her. "Think I'd make a good Superwoman?"

"It looks good on you," Clark informed her, smile melting into a grin. "I like it."

Lois chuckled and wrapped it back around her like a blanket. "Come on, Smallville. We've got an early start tomorrow. Bed time."

Clark nodded in agreement and as they began to lay down, Clark took the cape away from her and replaced its warmth with his own; he pulled her into his arms and held her as tight as ever. They drifted off to sleep, content and at peace.
