Chapter 28
Past Comes Back
Jean and Kara sat in his mothers house. Jean's mom was going on about his childhood, making Jean turn red. Kara sat smirking at her boyfriend as she sipped her tea.
"Mom. Please no more embarressing me." Jean said. Thanks to Kara, Jean had a good relationship with his mom. His mom was more happy the two were together. Levi had given the two the day to go see Jean and the Kara the go ahead to visit his mom since they were staying in Trost to get paperwork settled and Levi time to figure out his new squad before their next mission to protect Eren and Christa, who was now going by Historia.
"So you might be on Captain Levi's Squad?" Jean's mom asked as she sat in her chair.
"It looks like it with most of our friends." Kara said. Jean's mom smiled. Kara felt Jean rest a hand on her leg. She looked up at him with a smile.
"I'm proud of you, Jean. I am. I wouldn't have minded you being an MP but you seem happy with the Scouts and you got a wonderful girl." Jean's mom said. Kara blushed and Jean chuckled. "So when can I expect grandkids." Jean blushed and Kara got redder.
"Mom. We're still teenagers!" Jean said. Jean's mom laughed. Kara pushed hair out of her face. "We're not quite ready and we just started dating."
"I know. I was kidding with you." Jean's mom said. Kara chuckled. Jean raised an eyebrow at her. She shook her head.
"Thank you for the tea." Kara said as they went to step outside.
"Your welcome dear. Keep an eye on Jean boy for me." Jean's mom said.
"I will." Kara said.
"Mom. I can take care of myself." Jean said. Jean's mom hugged both teens.
"Stay safe out there." Jean's mom said.
"We will." Kara said. Jean and Kara waved. Jean and Kara walked down the streets. Kara felt like someone was watching her. She grabbed Jean's arm, gently.
"You alright." Jean asked.
"I feel like I'm being watched." Kara whispered. Jean quickly wrapped an arm around her and pulled her tight against his side.
"Stay close to me." Jean whispered. An explosion rips through the city. Screams fill the air. "What the hell!"
"Jean. What's going on?" Kara whispered. Another explosion was close, sending rocks flying.
"Damnit. We need to get back to Headquarters." Jean said. A bomb like thing rolls towards them. The explosion sends Jean and Kara flying. Kara hit the ground.
"Jean!" Kara called as she pulled herself to her feet. Men came out of the smoke. Kara gasped as she reconized one of them from when they tried to capture her the first time.
"No daddy Levi to protect you this time!" The man said. Kara gritted her teeth and went to attack when a dart hit her in the neck.
"Damn you." Kara said.
"Marcus wants to see you." The man said as blackness took her.
Jean pulled himself to his feet. Kara was not near him.
"Kara!" Jean called, running. He saw a man swing her over his shoulders. "No!" A gunshut rings out and Jean dodges it. The man gets on a wagon.
"Head for Wall Sina. Kill him if you have to." The leader said. Jean gritted his teeth as the wagon goes. Another shot rings out and Jean moves out of the way
"Damnit." Jean said. Levi was going to kill him.
Levi was sitting in Erwin's office, trying to figure out what was going on with the exploisions, when Jean burst in.
"Commander. Captain. I'm sorry to interupt." Jean said, trying to catch his breath.
"What is it Jean?" Erwin asked.
"They took her. They took Kara. Men. They said they were going to Wall Sina." Jean said. Levi was on his feet.
"How?" Levi ordered. There was worry and fear in his face.
"They were using the explosions. We got seperated from one and I saw them loading her onto a wagon. I'm sorry Captain. I promised her I protect her." Jean said.
"I'm not mad at you, Kirstein. Erwin. They are taking her to her father in the Underground. I'm taking my new team to go after her." Levi said.
"Do what you have to get her back, Levi. She won't have long if her father wants her dead." Erwin said. Jean's eyes widen in fear. Levi nodded.
"Let's go get the others." Levi ordered.
"Yes, Captain." Jean said. Levi and Jean left Erwin's office.
Few hours later. Kara woke up laying on a cold dirt floor. Her hands were tightly bounded behind her. She twisted her body, looking around. It was almost like a one room house.
'Where am I? Where's Jean?' Kara thought. She feared he was dead or worse. Kara felt a tear slid down her check.
"Well. Well. I see your awake." A familiar voice said. Kara clenched her jaw as she sat up a bit and looked up at her father. He had grayer hair and his clothes almost looked tattered. Hatred was in his eyes.
"Marcus." Kara said with a calm, but scared voice.
"Welcome home, daughter. Long time no see." Marcus said.
AN: And Kara's in her father's hands. Will they be able to save her in time? Guess you'll have to find out. Till next time.
