Chapter 33

Kenny Fight

Levi and Kara reached the dragon. Eren and Historia were laying unconsious in the back of the wagon and a unfamiliar woman was driving the cart.

"Father." Kara said.

"I see them." Levi said. They rounded a corner and three people appeared in front of them. Kara gritted her teeth. Levi and Kara shot their hooks backwards as the people aim their guns at them. They fell back as the three open fire.

'They predicted our movement!' Kara thought as they moved through the street, dodging all the gunshots. Levi led the way with Kara right behind him. Kara slid under a wagon and looked back to see the enemy right behind them. Gunshots were shot at her and Levi. Kara ran across a wagon and flipped off and sent hooks flying. A shadow comes over them and Levi and Kara gasp as Kenny got above them. He shoots at them. Kara and Levi land on the ground and use the lines to slide across the ground.

"Stay close!" Levi called as they go down an alleyway, trying to loose their tail. Kara stayed above Levi so their lines wouldn't tangle. Gunshots rang out. Levi and Kara used the walls to avoid the gunshots. Kara gritted her teeth as she saw Levi get glazed by a bullet as he slid across a board.

"Father!" Kara called.

"It's nothing. Kara! There!" Levi said as they rounded a corner to see a bar in the distance. Kara and Levi sent hooks into the bar and flew towards it. They landed side by side on the bar. Men in the bar gasp. "You hurt?"

"I'm fine. Your bleeding." Kara said.

"It's Levi and Kara of the Scouts!" A man said. Kara and Levi pulled themselves onto the counter. The barman let's out a eep.

"Make yourself at home, sir, mam!" The Barman said. Kara stared at the door as Kenny landed on the porch of the Bar.

"Ready or not." Kenny said.

"If this keeps up, we'll lose our team, Eren, and Historia." Levi whispered as he wipes blood out of his eye.

"It's the damnedest thing." Kenny said. Levi grabbed Kara and pulled her behind the bar as Kenny walked towards the door. "I seem to be smelling two rats in this fine establishment. Come on out, little rodents." Kenny jumps through the door with guns drawn. "The sheriff is here! And I aim to exterminate all the vermin I can find." He stomps his feet. "Bang! Bang!" Everyone sat in silence.

"What is he, five?" Kara whispered to Levi. Levi shushed her as they kept their heads low.

"Eep!" The Barman says in fear.

"Oh, come on! You here or not?" Kenny asked.

"We're right here, Kenny. Been a while. I really thought you'd be dead by now, what with all the MPs you were butchering." Levi said. He points to something. Kara sees a gun sitting behind her and she quickly grabs it. "But now you're great friends, huh?"

"Yeah, well, adults do plenty of things kids like you can't understand. Oh, right. My mistake. Your suppose to be an adult but you're still such a runt it's hard to tell. Heh." Kenny said. Kara nearly snorted and Levi shot her a glare. "Always hoped that I might get to see you in action someday. I can't say I'm diappointed, either. Even your adopted daughter has the same moves as you. She's a mini you. Seems you still remember every trick I taught you and also passed them onto Kara. But didn't I ever tell you what happens to a cornered rat?" Clicking of guns could be heard from the open window. Kara knew they were surrounded. "Because if I had, you'd know that wherever you and your daughter run, you'll find a bullet waiting." Kenny picks up a chair. "Hey, Levi!" Kara jumps as a chair was thrown at the bottles. It shatters a lot, splashing wine all over. Levi kept a hand on Kara's arm as both held their breath. "You must've become a Scout for a reason. And I think I know what that is. We were forced to survive in that little hellhole. Giving everything we had just to stay alive. So when we found out just how big the world really was, you bet it hurt like hell." Levi had a look in his eyes as if he was remembering the past. "But you know what saved us?" Levi looked at the bottles as Kenny picks up another chair. "We found something we enjoyed doing. Though I see you found yourself a daughter to take care of." Kara gritted her teeth. But it's just that simple. Every man needs himself a hobby. Maybe the only source of fulfillment he'll ever find in this wretched world."

"Oh, I see. Is that why you blew off my people's heads, then? 'Cause it's fulfilling?" Levi asked. He turned a bottle and Kara saw the reflection of Kenny right behind them. Levi gave her a look and she nodded.

"Yup. To achieve my grand goal, I'll kill as many as get in my way. And you're no different. You kill too when it benifits you." Kenny said, inching closer with gun drawn. Levi looks at Kara.

"Yeah." Levi said. Kara brought the gun backward on the Counter and pull the trigger. Kenny gasps and uses the chair as a shield. The bullet shatters and sends Kenny flying. Kara and Levi jump on the counter. "Good aim."

"Thanks." Kara said. Levi grabbed the gun.

"Thanks for the help, old man." Levi said. He tosses the gun to the old man and Levi and Kara run across the bar. Levi tosses a chair out the window. They jump out the window. Levi shoots one hook into a man and brings him to him as he goes to the other room. Kara lands on another roof with people on it. She pulls out her swords as Levi runs at other people using the man as a body shield. Gunshots fire at Kara and Levi and they slash through the humans.

Sasha and others land on the rooftop of a house as they head to meet Levi and Kara.

"I hear gunshots!" Sasha said. Jean's eyes widen.

"Huh?" Conny asked.

"From there!" Sasha points in the direction. Conny put his hands to his ears. "I heard close to a dozen shots!" Jean and Mikasa looked into the direction.

"Do you think that they ran into some trouble?" Jean asked.

"It seems likely." Mikasa said. Jean gasped as he looked at Mikasa. "The Captain gave me and Kara a message. As of now, it's not just Titans. We're fighting humans, too." Everyone gasps.

"Huh? You don't mean.." Jean said. Mikasa took off running.

"Hey!" Conny yelled. The others join her in the air as they head to meet with the Captain and Kara. Conny sees the wagon below them. "Look! There they are!" Levi got behind the wagon.

"Captain Levi!" Armin said. Kara was running across the roof, not far behind.

"Kara!" Jean said. Two men get behind both Kara and Levi. Kara looked back. "The hell is that?" Jean's eyes widen. Kara flips through the air as she dodges a bullet. Levi dodges a bullet in the air. Kara and Levi shook hooks into the men and pull the men towards them. They slice through the men. Everyone gasped, except Mikasa. Kara landed on a roof while Levi landed on the wall. Both see the squad behind them, looking at them in shock.

"Follow the wagon!" Levi called.

"Right!" Mikasa called. Levi and Kara join them as they follow the wagon.

"Listen up! These soldiers werer trained to fight other people. They've already taken out three of ours. If you hesitate for so much as a second, you'll be dead. The moment you see an opening, go for the kill." Levi said.

"Yes, sir." Mikasa said. Jean gasps. Levi uses a canapy to jump off and send hooks into a man that was standing in the wagon. He tosses him out. He moves out of the way.

"Armin! Secure the wagon with Jean! We'll keep you two covered." Levi called.

"Uh. Sir!" Armin called.

"He killed him." Jean said, in shock.

"Come on." Armin said, heading for the wagon. Jean gasps. Armin and Jean land in the wagon. The woman turned, but Kara kicked the woman into the wagon. Armin jumps into the seat. Jean points his sword at the woman.

"Don't move!" Jean said. He hesitates and the sword was shaking in fear. The woman rolls over. "Stop!" Kara turns to see the woman knock knock Jean's sword out of his hand and Jean fall to the floor of the wagon. The woman stands and points a gun to Jean's head. Kara's eyes widen.

"Jean!" Kara yelled as she moves to save him, but a gunshot rings out. Kara felt her heart stop but nearly sighs as the woman falls to the floor dead and Armin was holding a smoking gun. Jean saw Levi and Kara following the wagon. A look of relief was on Kara's face. Odm Gear sounds come.

"Shit! Armin! Jean!" Levi yells as men get behind. Kara flies fast and tackles a shocked Jean off the wagon and Sasha tackles Armin off the wagon. Kara looks up to see people land in the wagon. A man shots at Mikasa and she moves out of the way. Jean was still in shock as Levi stops Mikasa from going after the wagon.

"Jean. Jean. You alright!" Kara yells, grabbing his face. Her eyes scan him and find he was alright.

"Eren!" Mikasa screams.

"Jean!" Kara slaps her boyfriend in the face a few times. His eyes snap to her face. Jean grabbed her face and kissed her, hard. Kara kissed him back, relieved he was alright. Armin was throwing up in the river from his first kill. Levi was not happy to be holding a struggling Mikasa. Jean and Kara pulled apart and press their foreheads together. Both relieved they were alive after coming close to death.
