the episode begins in the presentation room of the rogues meeting building, the Rogues are gathered for presentation done by the Mad Hatter who stands next to a covered contraption
hatter: today my esteemed Federal criminals I present to the(there's a pause as if he's waiting for someone to do a drum roll)
hatter(in a whisper): I think I might have killed the drum guy
hatter(closes his throat before speaking): the first ever working gender switching ray
with a flourish he pulls out of the curtain revealing the machine underneath is built to shoot some sort of projectile out of it and onto a conveniently placed X on the floor which it is aimed to fire at
hatter: now I'm going to need a volunteer to test this out, any one interested
somewhere in the audience the squealing Brooklyn accent of Harley quinzel excitedly accepts, and before the hatter can tell her to come right up she does so without any prompting
hatter: okay Miss Colleen just stand on that ex and I'll fire this baby up
things seem to be going good when hatter presses the on button, the right sort of lights light up, the tip of the machine starts to Glow with a swirling pink and blue energy but that thing start going wrong, something in the machine start spitting smoke and
When the Smoke Clears from the exploded machine the first one to notice is harleen who looks down at her new male body and is absolutely delighted

she runs off to check and the others also start to notice their physical changes, some look upon themselves and wonder some neutrally but others

When the two of them get no answer from the hatter they look around to see he's up and vanished, and then they know where he is when a sudden Cry of
hatter: oh my God! you do taste like corn
come from the hall from one of the other meeting rooms, and then they noticed Jonathan's gone too
Joker: okay if he's too busy to help us fix it we might as well do it ourselves, does anyone know if he bought a blueprint to this thing
Riddler(holding the blueprint): yeah but it's almost completely just drawings, and the words that are on the page are complete nonsense
the blueprint is in fact complete chaos, consisting mostly of surprisingly well drawn interpretations of Jonathan as a woman, the spouse words that are on page or either in a language that's either completely made up or so ancient it's not known by Modern Eyes, or written in wingding
Riddler: I think we should start trying to translate the words written in wingdings first, and see if it gives us enough context clues to parse out the rest
after they put the wing ding into a translator a montage ensues of them getting the materials listed in the translated wingding and using it to fix the machine
Joker(wiping his brow of motor oil even though the thing doesn't run on oil): well I think we did a good job let's see if the thing sends out another Shockwave or if it works as intended and we have to do it individually
ivy presses the button and Darlene once again stands on the X, like before everything seems to go as intended but this time nothing goes wrong and the ray shoots out as intended
Riddler: individually it is, me next I really need to stop being a woman these cramps are really hard
an hour or so later everyone's back to themselves except for Jervis who use the Ray on himself and is now getting a much-needed thank you for being the world champion at absolutely devouring corn flavored clam
