"Harry, I believe you should tell your friends about your heritage," Dave told his grandson.

It was several days since Dave had arrived and he was pleased to see that Harry was happy with his godfather and his honorary Uncle Remus. He knew that this was the first Christmas Harry had celebrated ever since his parents had been murdered, as he had heard all about the Dursleys idea of Christmas where Harry was not allowed to participate or eat the food that he had prepared. Dave was glad he had dealt with him, though he wished that he could've dealt with them a long time ago.

"I've only known them a few months granddad," Harry protested. "I wanted to wait until I've known them at least a couple of years."

"There is a battle coming they'll need to trust you completely," Dave reminded his grandson. "You told me that Hermione at least is very intelligent and she's bound to realize that you're a lot more powerful than you let on. You're bound to slip up where people will notice, but most won't think anything of it, your friend on the other hand... You've been doing a good job so far about not using your sídhe magic, but you'll likely get distracted at some point as it happens to everyone and do something that you shouldn't know how to be able to do or something that is considered impossible for wand wavers. You might not slip up for years, but it's more likely that you'll slip up at some point probably in a year or two when you are significantly distracted and not paying attention."

"I hadn't thought of that," Harry sighed.

"You only 11 years old, grandson," Dave told Harry. "You're very intelligent and you already know far more than most other 11 year olds, but how will you explain how you have such knowledge if you slip up and display what you know and there's no way you could have gotten the information. If you're sure you can trust this Hermione and Neville I would recommend going ahead and telling them. Just make sure they know they're not to reveal the information to anyone."

"Alright," Harry said finally coming to a decision. "I'll talk to them sometime during the holidays so that we can do it away from school where somebody might overhear us."

"So how are things going at school?" Dave asked. "Any problems."

"Nothing I can't handle granddad," Harry promised. "I'm having trouble with one of the teachers who my dad, Sirius and Remus apparently pulled numerous pranks on. Let's just say that he can hold a grudge. It doesn't help that I look like my father. If he goes to far I'll let you deal with him. Right now, it's just verbal abuse and he tends to take points, even when I haven't done anything. He's nasty to all the Gryffindors actually, but Neville and I get the worst of it. Neville might actually be decent at potions if Snape didn't terrify him therefore, making him nervous. Potions is a delicate art and you don't need to be nervous when adding some of the ingredients as you might do it wrong, add to much or to little, stir at the wrong time that sort of thing and it might explode or melt your cauldron or have some other nasty affect."

"If he gets worse you let me know," Dave told his grandson firmly.

"I will," Harry promised. "I do know that Snape has tried to use Legilimency on me, but thanks to what you taught me he didn't get past my shields. I'm very grateful you taught me that as otherwise, I wouldn't even know he had been trying to get into my mind if you hadn't."

"You ought to report him to Dumbledore," Dave said.

"Dumbledore already knows he does it I'm sure, as he's tried the same thing, but stopped when he knew I had felt his attempt. I have no doubt that he does it on a regular basis to all students and most don't even notice, because they have no idea what Legilimency is. It's something of a rare art at least here in Britain from what I could discover."

"I'm rather disappointed in Dumbledore," Dave sighed. "He must know that you would report anything he does to me and that I would deal with him if I had to."

"I tried to tell you he might be misguided, but he's also obsessed with me. I believe he's so used to getting his own way that he started to believe he could do anything he wants no matter how illegal and get away with it. I believe all the power he has has gone to his head."

"Perhaps, you're right," Dave said.

"I mean he has three supposedly full-time positions and how he manages to fulfill them all I don't know. I mean he's Chief Warlock of the Wizengamot, Supreme Mugwump of the ICW and then he's headmaster of Hogwarts. There is no way he can fulfill the job requirements for all those positions, as he would not have time to sleep or to eat," Harry said.

"So you're saying he has so many responsibilities that he misses the little things, as they tend to slip through his fingers," Dave suggested in Harry nodded.

"He just doesn't have time to pay attention to individuals and he definitely doesn't know anything about the modern world. I know you tried to show him how things have changed, but I haven't noticed anything about how he does things differently."

"Give him time grandson, it's only been a few months," Dave said. "Change takes time, depending on what you want to do."

"I know," Harry agreed soberly.

"So other than the attempt to read your mind by Dumbledore, anything else I need to know?" Dave asked.

"If you mean about Dumbledore, he hasn't done anything as far as I know that needs to concern you or me. I don't expect that to last, but then I might be wrong to. As for other things, I have Ron Weasley that you already know about and warned me to avoid that's been very annoying. He keeps trying to barge his way into the group that Hermione, Neville and I have formed. He's not even polite enough to ask if he can join us, he's just trying to take all my attention and shove Hermione and Neville to the side.

"He seems to believe that he's the only one that can be a proper friend to the Boy Who Lived and no matter how many times I tell him he's not welcome, mostly because of his rudeness, he still keeps trying. He's trying to make me sink to his level, so that all I do is talk Quidditch and play chess instead of studying to get good grades. Now, while I like Quidditch as much as the next red blooded boy it's not everything.

"He's got to be the laziest sod I've ever known. All I know is, I'm at the end of my patience with him and even Hermione is angry and she's the most patient of the three of us, though Neville comes close. The only place to avoid him is the library as he never goes there if he can help it, but when were in the common room he tries his best to come between the three of us.

"We're going to have to do something about him, because I've only been there for four months and I'm already sick of his rudeness, his laziness, his poor table manners among other things. He reminds me of Dudley in a lot of ways and also Draco Malfoy. The only difference between Draco Malfoy and Ron Weasley is the color of their robes.

"Both are bigots, just about different things. Malfoy hates anybody who's not a pureblood and tries his best to insult Hermione because she's Muggle-born and Ron hates Slytherins, even the ones that have never done anything to him because they're in the house of snakes. I'm not saying Malfoy's exactly a shining example of a Slytherin, but I suspect that most Slytherins are just trying to survive, so they don't say anything against Malfoy and keep their heads down."

"That's smart," Dave admitted looking thoughtful. "Lucius Malfoy is a very powerful political figure as you and I discovered."

"Yeah, I know," Harry sighed. "I explained a lot to Hermione and Neville on the train ride about Dumbledore and how I was raised. Hermione near worshipped the old man, because of all she'd read about his accomplishments before I told her all he'd done to me that was not in my best interest. I explained that he broke the law if he wanted to and had done so several times with me. I probably told her more than I should have actually considering I had just met them, but for some reason I sensed that I could trust both of them. Hermione had been raised to believe that authority couldn't possibly be wrong or maybe that's an opinion she formed herself. I simply tried to make her shed some of that naïveté."

"You need to learn to trust your instincts, as they'll serve you well," Dave said. "You already know that a sídh instincts are much stronger and more accurate than humans or magicals unless you're naturally suspicious by nature or developed it as they grew and learned about the world like some people are. Usually it's something that happened in childhood that makes you suspicious and wary of other people. I would love to meet these friends of yours."

"You will at some point, especially after I tell them I am half sídh," Harry said. "We'll see how they react to that information first."

"They will react just fine if they are truly your friends," Dave said.

"Probably," Harry agreed, but he couldn't help worrying.

"I'm not saying they won't be shocked, because of course they will. Neville is a pureblood, so he'll probably be more shocked than Hermione as he'll know how rare it is to have a full sídh as a spouse. Hermione, on the other hand, will likely be shocked to, but also likely not realize that a sídh revealing themselves to a human is rather unusual," Dave said.

"I don't know if that's true or not, as Hermione is always reading and not just for school. For all I know she might've come across a book in the library about sídhe, even if the information it is only partially correct. She might not believe it, but still it's a possibility," Harry said.

"That's possible," Dave conceded. "It's probably not to likely though."

"We'll see," Harry said. "So how's the Horcrux hunting going?"

"No luck yet," Dave sighed. "Finding the locket and cup so close together was pure luck. Hopefully, we'll find the others before Voldemort returns. None of us expected it to be easy though."

"Of course not, nothing can ever be easy," Harry said sighing. "I was just hoping, you know?"

"Yes, I know how hard it is to be patient and that you're still young makes it even harder, but don't worry we will find them hopefully, in the next year or so and then Voldemort can be defeated permanently."

Grandfather and grandson changed the subject to more pleasant things and talked quietly for awhile catching up on what had been happening while they have been apart.

"I'm so glad you could spend part of Christmas with me," Harry told his two friends who just stepped out of the Floo. Hermione had had to go to the Leaky Cauldron in order to use the Floo because she didn't have one at home so her parents had to drop her off.

"It's so good to see you," Hermione said, as she dropped the bag she was carrying and hugged Harry.

"It's good to see you too, Hermione," Harry laughed returning the hug. Hermione had been given a crash course on how to use the Floo system and so she'd arrived on her feet with her bag with her clothes and presents over her shoulder. "I hope there was nothing breakable in that bag of yours considering how you dropped it on the floor."

"No, it's just my clothes for the next few days and my presents of course," Hermione said. "There's nothing breakable I promise."

"That's good then," Harry said before turning to Neville. "It's good to see you bro."

"It's good to see you to," Neville greeted his godbrother. The two shared a manly hug.

"I'll show you where you'll be staying for a few days I'm glad your guardians allowed you to come. Grab your things."

"I'm surprise that your godfather doesn't have a house-elf," Neville said.

"He does, but I'm so used to doing things myself I didn't even think about asking Fizzy for help," Harry said. "Fizzy!" Harry called.

"Yes, Master Harry," Fizzy said, as she appeared.

"Would you mind please, taking my guests luggage up to their rooms," Harry requested politely.

"Of course, Master Harry," Fizzy said snapping her fingers and Hermione's bag and Neville's trunk disappeared.

"I'm glad you don't depend on Fizzy for every little thing," Hermione approved.

"I'm used to doing things for myself," Harry shrugged. "Let me introduce you to Sirius and Remus and let them tell you what they have planned for the Christmas period.

"That sounds good," Neville said and Hermione nodded.

All three of them headed towards where Harry knew Sirius and Remus would be this time of day, the kitchen.

"Welcome to Black Manor," Sirius greeted Neville and Hermione. "I'm glad you could join us for a least part of the Christmas holiday. I'm glad you're guardians allowed you to come for a few days. Many plans have been made for Christmas."

"They will be shopping if you haven't done your Christmas shopping yet then today will be a good time," Remus who had been silent said.

"I haven't had a chance," Hermione said. "You're not allowed to go into Hogsmeade until third year and we're not even done with our first."

"There's always ordering if from a brochure," Neville said.

"I, at least, would rather go and look, as I'm sure a lot of things aren't in the brochures," Hermione said.

"True," Remus agreed with Hermione. "I always preferred to do my own shopping and not just order things from a brochure, though I know sometimes that was necessary."

"Christmas is in only a few days so we'll have to do our shopping quickly," Harry said.

"That's why we're going today since Christmas is just around the corner," Sirius said.

Remus offered everyone tea and a snack before they headed out to Diagon Alley to do their shopping.
