Kate went to bed early so she could be up and alert when Dean brought Caleb to the house. She hadn't met Caleb but if he was friends with Dean then he must be okay.

Caleb was groggy from the pain pills that Dean had given him and had fallen asleep on the drive to Bobby's. It had been a long time since he had been out to Sioux Falls and it took him a minute to realize where they were.

"Wake up, sunshine." Dean said and slapped Caleb's chest.

Caleb opened baby's door and swung his foot out. He went to stand up and felt the pain shoot from his toes, through the top of his head. The brace must have been holding it together.

Dean glanced sideways. "Do you need a hand?"

Caleb waved him off. "Just get the door, will ya?"

Dean used his key to unlock Bobby's front door. He was surprised that Kate was already awake. "Hey, kiddo."

Kate yawned. "Hi." She wrapped her arms around his middle and squeezed.

Caleb hobbled up the steps.

Kate looked around Dean. "How did you hunt like that?"

Caleb met eyes with her. "Well it was fine until chuckles took the brace off. It doesn't help that a ghoul tried to turn me into a chew toy."

Kate stepped on the other side of Dean. "Hi, I'm Kate."

Caleb smiled. "I'm Caleb." He walked through the door. "Where is John's truck?"

"John isn't here." Kate said with another yawn.

Caleb looked back out the door. "When does he get here?"

Dean tilted his head. "Oh, Kate is the medic."

Caleb looked at the little girl with curly bedhead and pink pajamas. "I thought John was going to patch up my ankle."

"I can go back to bed if you want to be picky." Kate said.

Dean swatted her gently. "Caleb, she's a better medic than dad. Just sit your ass down and let her look at that foot."

Caleb took a seat on Bobby's couch.

Bobby showed up behind the couch with two cups of coffee. "Good to see you, son."

Caleb looked back and took the mug. "You too, Bobby. I didn't realize you were running a hotel."

Bobby scoffed but sat down.

Kate grabbed her stuff and a basin of warm soapy water.

Dean moved the coffee table back and turned the lamp on so that Kate could see better.

Kate put Caleb's foot in the basin and gently cleaned it. She prodded it gently with her fingertips. "How long ago did you hurt it?"

Caleb sipped his coffee. "A week or two ago."

Kate raised an eyebrow in the perfect imitation of John. "Let's try a month or two ago."

Dean grinned.

"What was the initial injury?" Kate asked.

"I was hunting a werewolf and stepped wrong during the pursuit." Caleb said.

Kate scrunched her nose. "Your pursuit of it or its pursuit of you?"

Caleb shot Dean a look.

Dean's eyes twinkled a bit. "I told you."

Caleb smirked. "My pursuit of it. I twisted it again a week later and have had the brace on it for a little while. I figured there is a broken bone or two somewhere in there."

Kate placed her hands on either side of his ankle and closed her eyes.

Caleb felt a strange tingling and pulled his foot back. "What are you doing?"

Kate rolled her eyes. "Fixing your foot." She put her hands back on his leg and pulled enough of the pain and inflammation away that he would be able to safely splint the foot.

Caleb's eyes grew wide. "What the?"

Dean snorted. "I told you she was a good medic."

"Why'd you give me the third degree if you were just going to voodoo it away?" Caleb asked.

Kate shook her arms and legs out as she stood up. "I needed to know how much to take because I do have to go to school and I'd prefer not to spend my entire first period feeling like my leg was going to snap." She said, sweetly.

"What is she talking about?" Caleb asked.

Kate rolled her head to pop her neck. "I can remove pain and am working on really healing people. I take what ever it is and transfer it to my body. My body heals much faster so the pain doesn't stick around as long."

Caleb looked into her eyes. "Well I wouldn't have let you do that if I knew it was going to hurt you."

Kate smiled. "Already better. I can do it again before I go to school."

Caleb didn't know what to say.

Dean smacked his shoulder and got up to help Kate clean up the basin and supplies.

Bobby took a seat in one of the chairs. "How's the foot?"

"A lot better. I wasn't expecting...that." Caleb said.

"Dean didn't warn you?"

"Well he told me she had abilities. Is he aware that she is him made over?" Caleb asked.

Bobby smiled. "And then some."

Kate hugged Dean again. "I'm glad you are back in one piece."

"Thanks for patching him up." Dean said and ruffled her hair. "Now, about that prank.."

Kate screeched and ran back to Bobby. "Help!"

Bobby chuckled. "Dean, you can't do anything to her."

Dean threw his hands up in mock outrage. He could rile her up just as easily as she could rile him up.

Kate sat down near Caleb. She bit into a sandwich she had grabbed.

"So, Dean's told me a good bit about you." Caleb said.

"All good things, I hope." Kate said.

Caleb smiled. He wasn't sure if it was all good but he found her amusing.

Taylor hopped down the stairs and grabbed his own breakfast. He heard voices and went to them. "Hey, you're back."

Dean raised his coffee as an acknowledgement to Taylor.

Taylor introduced himself to Caleb before gathering his stuff for school.

"You've got quite the crew, Bobby." Caleb said.

Bobby nodded.

Dean twirled his keys around his finger and looked at his watch. "You two have 10 minutes before we leave."

Taylor ran back down the stairs and deposited the kittens beside the couch.

Caleb looked down at the puffballs. "Who is this?" He asked.

"Uh Millie is the gray one. Dean is the orange one." Taylor said as he grabbed his lunch.

"What?!" Dean asked.

Caleb grinned as he picked up kitten Dean. "How did this little fella' get that name?"

Dean rolled his eyes. "When I left he didn't have a name."

Kate skipped into the living room. "I told Taylor he was too sweet to be named after you but he thought that messing with you was worth it."

Dean shot Bobby a look. "Do you just let them run wild the moment I leave. You know what... you encourage them."

Bobby chuckled. "I just sit back and enjoy the show."

Dean narrowed his eyes at Taylor when he walked back into the room. "You are not naming that cat Dean."

Taylor grinned and threw his backpack over his shoulder. "I put some cinnamon rolls in the oven. They should be ready by the time you get back from dropping us off."

Dean softened his stance. "You still aren't going to name it Dean." He lightly cuffed him on the back of his head as he walked by. He followed the kids out to the car and plopped himself in the driver's seat. "You two are going to cause me to have an aneurism."

Kate grinned. "The plan is working then."

Dean dropped them off at school and made a beeline back to cinnamon rolls. As soon as he opened the door he could smell the cinnamon.

Bobby got them out of the oven and took one to Caleb.

Dean walked by and flicked Caleb's head. "Those will change your life."

Caleb took a bite and closed his eyes. "Oh, God."

Dean returned with one of his own. "I know right."

"That kid made these?" Caleb asked.

"His grandmother did. She sent a bunch of food back when he went over there to get some papers. Oh! Where is the knife?" Dean said.

Bobby grabbed it from his office. "Here you go."

Dean took the knife from Bobby and got a good look at it. It looked simple enough. "How do we know if this is the real deal?"

"Well the spell did something powerful enough to knock Kate and Taylor out of their seats. We wont know until we know." Bobby said.

Dean brought the knife over to Caleb and let him look at it. He handed it back to Bobby and then grabbed a couple books. "Taylor's grandmother had these stashed in a false wall. Her father gave them to her when he died."

Caleb looked at the old books. "You have been having so much fun and didn't invite me to the party."

Dean blew air through his nose. "Fun isn't the word I would use."

### ###

Kate had taken more of Caleb's injury before she left for school. She pushed herself a little more than she should have but it didn't last long. The healing ability worked for those kinds of injuries too. She did get a small nose bleed once she got to school but wasn't that concerned. She did make a note of it in her journal because, although she liked riling Dean up, she didn't want him mad at her for hiding health related stuff.

Instruction had began and real classes started. Taylor sat at his desk in his math class and looked at the packet in front of him. It was an anonymous test the teacher would use to see where the class needed to start. Math was one of Taylor's strengths but he was trying not to panic. He had opened the packet and worked through three pages. He checked the time because he had over hydrated and was hopeful the class would be over soon. He stared at the clock, wondering if it was wrong. He glanced to his side and Nate was still on the first page. He had to slow down. He finished the test and went back over it a few times so he didn't look out of place. He was quick with math but not that quick. The bell finally sounded and he was able to turn in his test with the rest of the class.

Kate saw Taylor zoom by her in the hallway and furrowed her brows.

Taylor had seen Kate and once he was done, he went back to find her. "I think my abilities are changing."

Kate whispered. "What? How?"

Taylor looked at the hallway clock. "Uh, here. Take the calculator. Type in any number you want and I'll do the math in my head."

Kate smirked. "Alright. Um.. 243 divided by 98."

"2.48. Rounded." Taylor spit out.

Kate eyed him. "Really? Uh 71 times 3 divided by 17."

"12.53." Taylor said.

Kate's mouth dropped open. "How are you doing that?"

"I don't know. I am good at math but it is like I can see the numbers instantly." Taylor said.

Kate glanced at the time. "I'll talk to you at lunch."

Taylor took the calculator back and booked it to his next class.

Kate frowned. When would she get a new ability.

At lunch Taylor found Kate. "How's your day?"

"Okay, I guess. It is boring." Kate answered.

"Mine too. I want to take my bow out and target practice this afternoon. Would you be down for going with me?" Taylor asked.

Kate smiled. "All the way out to the side of Bobby's house."

"Do you want to use the bow or not?" Taylor asked.

Kate rolled her eyes. "Yes, I want to use it."

Ellie got Kate's attention and waved her over. "Don't you ever get tired of hanging out with guys?"

Kate grinned. "Yeah, I do. He is going to let me use his crossbow though."

"Why would you want to do that?" Ellie asked.

Kate shrugged. "It is fun. It isn't like I have a park or anything out there."

"Maybe we can have a sleep over this weekend." Ellie said.

Kate smiled. "I'll ask Bobby."

The day zipped by and before Dean knew it, he was scrambling to pick the kids up. He rolled up to the school as they were walking out.

Taylor got in the backseat.

"Did you get demoted?" Dean asked.

"Lost rock paper scissors." Taylor said.

Kate opened the front door with a huge grin on her face. "I won."

Dean smirked but pulled away from the school. "So, how was your day?"

Kate shrugged. "I got a little bit of a nose bleed this morning but it wasn't enough to use more than one tissue."

Dean eyed her. "Headache? Was it from helping Caleb?"

"I took a bit extra but was careful. I'll be more careful." Kate said.

Dean nodded in approval.

Taylor spoke up. "I learned a new trick."

Dean looked in the rearview mirror. "What is that?"

Kate pulled out the calculator and quizzed Taylor.

"Whoa. I could have used that in school." Dean said.

Kate smirked. "You could use it now." When they got back to the house Kate went straight to the kittens. She picked both of them up and sat on the porch swing.

Taylor went inside to get started on chores.

"You should get started on chores too." Dean said.

Kate didn't look up but nuzzled the kittens. "I will later."

"Kate." Dean warned.

Kate blinked at him before putting the cats down and running inside.

Caleb watched from his seat. "Can't let the kid chill after school?"

Dean sighed. "She'd put them off all night. I am acting as dad would for a week." He grabbed a beer for himself and one for Caleb. "How is the leg feeling?"

Caleb looked down and wiggled his toes. "Feels about like a sprain."

"I can take your stuff up to the room." He offered and grabbed Caleb's bag. He ran up the steps and dropped the bag on his bed.

Kate was wiping down the bathroom counter when she heard Dean run up the stairs. "How long is he staying?"

"Uh, not sure. I guess how ever long he wants." Dean said.

Kate finished up her chores and pulled her homework out of her bag. She sat on her bed and started doing worksheets. She didn't find any of it interesting and felt herself getting frustrated again.

Taylor finished all of his work and put everything in his bag for the night. He ran downstairs and looked for something to do. He decided to look at what Bobby had on Nephilim. They had found nothing useful but maybe they were looking at it from the wrong angle.

"What are you looking at?" Caleb asked. He was tired of sitting and needed something to do.

Taylor held up the book. "Cross referencing. Do you want to help?"

"Sure." Caleb said and sat beside him. "So angels are real?"

"We think so." Taylor said. "Nothing makes too much sense."

Dean tapped Taylor on the head. "Do you want to take that bow out before it gets dark?"

Taylor nodded. "Yes. I'll put a note in this and then go get it."

Dean called for Kate. "Katie, are you done with homework."

Kate groaned. "If I was I'd be down there and not up here." she yelled back.

Taylor cringed at the tone. He quickly grabbed his bow and ran out of the house.

Caleb looked from the door to Dean. "I'll take that as my cue to go outside too."

Dean climbed the stairs. "That wasn't the response you should have used."

Kate let her shoulders drop. "No, I'm not done. This is stupid."

"Hop up." Dean said.

Kate looked into his eyes. "Oh. I'm sorry. I was just frustrated."

Dean took her arm and stood her up. He gave her four swats and sat her back down. "Watch your tone. Show me what you are hung up on."

Kate licked her lips. "Are they..."

"Are Taylor and Caleb downstairs? No. They took off as soon as you yelled." Dean said.

Kate blushed. "I'm sorry."

"Hey, I swatted you for it. Now, show me what is frustrating you." Dean said.

Kate chewed her lip. "Well, first, Taylor got that new ability that makes it so he can see numbers. I am frustrated because I want it to be that easy. This is boring and it physically hurts to sit here and fill in words."

Dean sat beside her. "I don't wish I was back in school but it is important. Good grades keep you off the radar."

Kate frowned. "Geography is boring."

"You can use different things from each class to help with hunting. Either way it has to be done."

Kate held up one of the worksheets. "This is the one I'm stuck on."

Dean wished Sam was still there. "Geek boy is a phone call away but I'll try to help where I can. Here, erase this and start over."

Kate erased her work. She finally figured out what she was doing wrong and finished the worksheet.

"There you go. You have plenty of people to ask for help. Sometimes you just need to look at it from a different point of view. I can't tell you how many times I got hung up in math class because I read too fast and wrote down 123.4 instead of 12.34 or something." Dean brushed hair from her eyes. "Put your stuff away and then head outside. Taylor has his bow out."

Kate gave him a smile. "I'm sorry I snapped at you."

"I know. I know homework was making you snippy. That is why you got four swats instead of 40." He said with a smirk.

"This is why we torment you." Kate said, scrunching her nose.

Dean poked her side. "You got me good." He patted her leg and got up."

"Hey Dean?"

"Yeah?"

"How soon do you think we will know if that knife works?" Kate asked.

Dean rubbed his face. "I'll talk to dad."

Taylor rounded up the arrows that he had hit each target with.

"You are pretty good with that." Caleb said.

"Thanks. Do you want to try?" He asked.

Caleb shrugged. He missed the first target. There was a learning curve. "That is harder than it looks."

"It takes practice. It is heavier than a gun. A traditional bow is different too." Taylor said.

Caleb was intrigued but the mysterious kids that had changed Dean, but also John. "How did you meet this bunch?"

Taylor thought back to where he had met Kate. "Kate's friend, Ellie, is my best friend's younger sister."

Caleb squinted his eyes.

"We had a lot in common but didn't really know what it was at the time. She was just.. different." Taylor said.

"So you like her?" Caleb asked.

Taylor shrugged. "Like a best friend or a sister." Taylor didn't know what the deal was with their families. He felt protective of Kate but he was too overwhelmed to think of anything else.

Kate skipped over to the fence. "Can I have a turn?"

Caleb handed her the bow.

Kate was slower than Taylor but hit each target.

Caleb looked at Dean. "Are they that good with everything else?"

Dean laughed. "They practice a lot. A moving target is different though."

Kate smirked. "I hit John."

Caleb whipped his head around. "With what? When?"

"A knife." Kate answered.

Caleb looked to Dean to make sure he wasn't hearing things.

Dean sighed. "He was possessed and had his hands on me. She hit him in the side, deep enough to distract him without hurting him. Well, without hurting him too bad."

"I didn't think a demon would flinch from something like that."

Kate sat on the fence railing. "I knew something was up so I drank a bunch of holy water. I got my blood on the knife before I threw it."

Caleb put his hands on his hips. "What are you?"

Kate gave him a sad look.

"No, not like what creature are you. Just... since when do kids do stuff like that?" Caleb asked.

Dean huffed. "There are normal kids, then there is Kate."

When they went back inside, Kate remembered a specific symbol. She dug around in the box of stuff that was okay to touch and found it. "We should figure out what this is."

Bobby leaned back in his chair. "We have tried."

"What about the site in Kansas?"

Bobby shook his head. "Things have been on hold."

"So somebody could go check it out." Kate suggested.

"Kate, you have school and that isn't a two day trip." Dean said.

Kate turned and looked at him. "No, but you and Caleb aren't in school."

Dean snorted. "You'd be okay with me going without you?"

Kate frowned. "I don't like it but Caleb shoots straight enough that you should be safe without us there."

Caleb heard the comment. "Hey, I have been saving his ass for years."

Kate grinned. "You have good hearing too!"

"She is sizing you up." Bobby said.

Caleb showed up in the doorway. "What did I do to you?"

"Nothing. I just want to make sure Dean has a good partner. Sammy went to college and I don't want him out galivanting with someone who doesn't know what they are doing." Kate said.

Dean grabbed her and ruffled her hair. "What did I say about respect?"

Kate giggled. "I'm treating him how you treated Taylor the first time you met him."

Taylor tilted his head. "I think Dean was a little less obvious."

Caleb shook his head. "She's a Winchester alright."

Kate didn't have a problem with Caleb. She just didn't want him to replace Sam. She also liked hearing stories about Dean and planned to get Caleb to cough up a few.

The kittens darted into the room and straight up Dean's pant leg. "No, go away. Go climb somebody else." He said as he unhooked tiny claws from his thigh.

The kittens found their humans and cuddled in for the night. Before long, the kids were ready to do the same.

Kate checked Caleb's foot again but didn't heal him anymore due to Dean ordering her not to. She brushed her teeth and carried Millie back to her room. She sat her on the bed beside the pillow and laid down.

Caleb flopped back on the spare bed. "This place has changed."

"Has it?" Dean asked.

"Well, to the normal eye it is the exact same but Bobby seems less crochety." Caleb said.

"A lot has happened the last few years." Dean admitted. "I think we all changed."

"It looks good on you, buddy." Caleb said and then flopped his arm off the bed so he could go to sleep.

### ###

Kate woke up during the night and felt anxious. She felt like there was an itch she couldn't scratch. Usually, she would search for what was wrong but something told her not to. She didn't feel comfortable going to wake Dean up since Caleb was there. She tried to go back to sleep but couldn't. Eventually she woke Taylor up.

"What is it?" Taylor asked.

"I feel anxious. I can't put a finger on it. I tried to sleep but it is bothering me." Kate said.

Taylor sat up. "How can I help?"

"I don't know but I can't wake Dean up. I'm trying to be open and not hide things." Kate said.

Taylor motioned for her to sit down. "Would it help to draw it out?"

"Maybe. Thanks." Kate said. She took her notebook out and doodled.

Taylor stretched and yawned. He picked kitten Dean up and scratched his ears. "Did finding that knife cause this?"

Kate shrugged. She sketched something out and realized it was the symbol again. "I think that symbol is really important."

Taylor nodded. "So we can look at it tomorrow. We can't find anything tonight. I promise to help."

Kate was able to go back to sleep soon after. She was glad that she had asked for help.

Caleb woke up early the next morning. He had gotten more sleep than he typically did and his ankle was stiff but felt a lot better. He sat up on the bed and slowly flexed the injured foot. He was still wrapping his head around how Kate had healed him. He trusted Dean but it was a little unsettling. He knew psychics like Missouri Mosely that were good people. Just because someone had an ability, didn't make them a bad person. However, those two kids were gaining strength each day and he didn't want Dean to be blindsided because he was basically raising them.

Dean woke up sometime after Caleb and made a pot of coffee. He kept an eye on the time as he got the morning started. "How are you feeling today?"

"Good, actually." Caleb said. "How long has she been able to heal people?"

Dean sat back in a chair. "Ah, I don't even know. She seems to have a genetic component that gives her some psychic abilities. Two or so years ago, she realized she could pull pain from people."

Caleb tilted his head. "How'd she figure that out."

Dean chuckled and rubbed his face with both hands. "Sam was pissed at dad and knocked a window out of dad's truck with a rock."

Caleb connected the dots and laughed.

"She got a little stronger each time she did it. At first it was enough to dull the pain. Then, Sam got thrown around by a poltergeist and she pulled enough of the pain from him that he could rest. It made him heal faster but it still took weeks. I'd say what she did to your ankle is the fastest she has healed someone." Dean said.

"She can heal herself?"

"Yes. If she slices open her arm, you can watch the skin heal in front of your eyes." Dean answered.

Caleb could hear a hint of pride in Dean's voice. "I've been off fighting vamps and you've been here with what ever this is."

"I've been out hunting too. Things got hairy for a while. I told you about her dad. Taylor's mother's husband was a mean son of a bitch. There was a mess with that. This is all over my pay grade." Dean admitted. He heard shuffling and turned his head. "Are you trying to eavesdrop?"

Kate walked into the kitchen and leaned on the back of the chair, wrapping her arms around Dean's shoulders. "If I was eavesdropping you wouldn't have heard me."

Dean smirked but reached up and ruffled her hair. "Why are you awake?"

"I woke up anxious last night. I went back to sleep but woke up again just now."

"Why didn't you come get me?" Dean asked.

Kate glanced at Caleb. "I woke Taylor up. He talked to me while I drew in my book. It helped."

"What did you draw?" Dean asked.

Kate yawned again. "The symbol. Oh, let me look at your foot." She said to Caleb.

Caleb shook his head. "It is okay. You've done enough."

Kate walked around the table. "Let me at least see it."

Caleb pulled his pants leg up and showed her. "It is a lot better. I really appreciate it."

Kate felt of the foot. "I can do another round."

Caleb went to pull his ankle back. "It is really okay. I am indebted enough."

Kate grinned. "I accept embarrassing Dean stories as payment." She closed her eyes and envisioned the tendons and muscle in his ankle mending and growing strong again.

Dean scoffed. "How about I tell him embarrassing Kate stories?"

Kate stood up and put her hands on her hips. "You have already told him those stories. I know because of the way he looked at me when he first met me."

Caleb raised an eyebrow. "I didn't think I looked at you any certain way."

Kate turned to look at Caleb and gave him a sweet smile and batted her eyelashes. "I've healed you three times. I expect three good stories that I haven't heard before."

Caleb grinned at Dean. "Boy, you met your match."

Dean grumbled and downed a mug of coffee. "Since you are up so early, you could run."

"Or, hear me out. I could hang out with you since you are super cool and I don't get to see you much anymore because I'm stuck in school and you are off hunting." Kate said and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

"I'm pretty sure that counts as being manipulative." Dean said and flicked her.

"Lucky me, being manipulative wasn't one of your talking points." Kate said as she spun around and went to the freezer in search of breakfast.

Caleb caught the twinkle in Dean's eye. "What is the plan?"

Dean sighed. "I don't have one right now. Do you have any specific hunts you need to knock off your list?"

"I'll look. John is supposed to be coming this way, right?" Caleb asked.

"I don't know. I'm assuming he'd want to get his hands on that knife but I don't know where he is." Dean said.

Kate turned and looked at Dean. "You could try it out."

"I'd love to." Dean said. "But I haven't heard anything demon related up this way."

Kate bit her lip. "You could summon one."

Dean leveled her with a glare. "Katelyn.."

"I said you could. Not me." Kate said.

"Stop that train of thought. Let me be clear. If you even think of scrounging up a demon I will wear you out with my belt. Do you understand?" Dean said in a low voice.

Caleb looked between them.

Kate flicked her eyes to Caleb in a silent plea to Dean not to embarrass her.

"Oh don't look at him for help. No demons." Dean declared.

Kate nodded. "Yes Dean. I promise not to summon any and or look for any."

Caleb tilted his head. "I'm guessing there is a story there."

Kate's face turned red.

"She thinks she is invincible and laughs in the face of demons." Dean said.

Kate sighed. "The last few times we ran into demons, it wasn't my fault."

"No, but I know how your brain works. We will test out the knife but you will stay clear of any and all demons." Dean said.

Kate put her hand over her heart. "I promise. Besides, if I got rid of it, I'd never know if the knife works or not."

Dean stood up quickly.

Kate darted behind Caleb's chair. "Chill. Chill. I understand. No demons."

Dean sat back down but kept his eyes on her.

"How did you get rid of demons?" Caleb asked.

Kate's eyes lit up before she met Dean's eyes. She plopped down in a chair. "Okay, so it is a cool story but I realize I got lucky and will not go after any demons." She looked at Dean for approval. "Dean took me on a hunt with him. We met Jo there and she didn't know how many demons were there. Our plan went sideways and to save Dean and Jo's life, I cut my arm and mixed blood into the water tank for the fire system. I lit a match and set one of the demon's shirts on fire and it triggered the sprinklers and poof, demons disabled."

Caleb processed the story. "She saved you?"

Dean rolled his eyes. "If Jo hadn't been there, I wouldn't have gotten distracted."

Kate sat back and crossed her arms. "Yes, I saved him and get no thanks."

Dean patted her hand. "My thanks is putting up with your foolishness."

"So, your blood is like holy water?" Caleb asked.

"I guess it is stronger." Kate said. "I want to see what it does to different creatures but Dean is a buzzkill and wont let me."

Dean poked her side. "You are a kid, not a weapon."

Caleb was curious about the blood too. He would be down for some scientific experiments at the expense of a vampire or two. The only downside would be needing to capture a creature.

They heard a small thunking sound and a quiet. "Noooooo." from Taylor. The thunking stopped and a gray puffball appeared at the door to the kitchen.

Taylor checked Millie for injury. "She took off and tumbled down the stairs."

Millie found her person and wailed at Kate's feet until she was picked up.

"She seems fine." Kate said. She let Millie climb to her shoulder and take her place next to her neck.

Dean shook his head. with the allergy pills, he could handle the dander but he still didn't understand the appeal.

"Where is Bobby?" Taylor asked.

Dean perked up. "He should be up." he looked around the house before putting his ear to Bobby's door. He heard faint talking and sighed in relief. "He is in his room."

As Dean grabbed his keys to take the kids to school, Bobby walked out of his room. "I need you to track somebody down."

Dean saw the kids standing by the car. "Who?"

"Jo."

"Jo.. Jo Harvelle?" Dean clarified.

"Yes. She's missing."
