After a civilian science vessel makes an emergency landing on a seemingly uninhabited Ceti Alpha V planet, Kirk is forced to once again face an old adversary who he has not so much as thought about in twenty five years. An AU in which Ceti Alpha V never endured massive devastation, and Khan and the Augments thrive there.

One-shot, post "The Paradise Syndrome". Kirk grieves the loss of his wife and unborn baby.

The Vulcan senate gets itself into a tizzy during an all night session debating the merits for or against reclassifying the export status of the Earth Peanut

Spock ponders his relationship with Jim Kirk for the first time. "As he stood upon the bridge, his line of sight grazed over the shoulder of his Captain's silhouette. From his place at Jim's side, he stared into the viewscreen and felt for the first time that he was not alone." Spock introspection/monologue. Set shortly after 'Journey to Babel.' One-shot. TOS.

He could have killed McCoy there, in that cave, with no one to stop him. Spock had considered his human half the danger that threatened to steal away his control, that would not adhere to his Vulcan principles. Yet he was never more dangerous to his friends than when he was fully Vulcan. In which Spock and McCoy's failure to communicate is what drives the Triumvirate apart pre-TMP.

Somewhere, hidden on this desolate planet of ice and snow, a lost civilization reaches out to the only one capable of reaching back, and Spock discovers that first contact can have lasting, devastating consequences. He never should have come here.

After Kirk sees the death of someone he has grown to love, he is left stricken by both the loss and the implications. With a report to present in the morning, just a handful of late hours left, and a Captain definitely not in his right state, Spock and McCoy must collectively work together to try help Kirk heal. After the events of 'Balance of Terror' Kirk wonders why Spock saved Stiles, and learns something new about Vulcan telepathy.

A pleasant surprise awaits Captain Kirk in the Mess Hall. Spock suspects he knows who is behind it.

After a transporter malfunction, Kirk finds himself again in the mirror universe. Only this time he's alone, and little more than a slave after Spock's takeover of the ship. With no friends or influence in that world, he finds an unexpected ally in the ISS Enterprise's Doctor. In order to return to his own world, he'll have to form an awkward relationship with him...

Kirk: "Let me get this straight Spock, so that we understand each other… You're concerned Bones has been negligent in his work because you've been feeling too well!" Dr McCoy had always been problematic, but nobody else besides Spock seems to notice his quality of care has been slipping. Misunderstandings a plenty, eventual Friends to Lovers, Protective Bones, Oblivious Spock.
