Just a note: I'll be traveling for a few days so I may be slow. The last few chapter's reviews have made me crack up.

Kate rested her elbow on the table as she worked on a set of math problems. "Why do I have to do this?"
Dean sighed. "We need to get back to some sort of normal. You are still eleven years old. You can't rely on abilities for every little thing."
It had been a week since they had woken up and Kate wanted some fresh air. "I want to go for a walk."
Dean wished John was still there. "We have talked about that. You can't right now."
"I'm supposed to be powerful enough to take down an archangel. Surely I could walk around without dying." Kate said.
Taylor tried to focus on his own work. He wanted to butt in but fading into the background was in his best interest.
"Castiel said you can't use your abilities right now. They are still sporadic and you don't know which ones you have or how to control them." Dean said. His patience was running thin. Kate had found her footing and was back to pushing buttons. "He said an alarm went off in heaven when you woke up. You can't lead things to you."
Taylor rubbed his head. It was the same conversation that Kate and Dean had every morning. "Katie, I'll spar with you after we finish up math."
Kate grumbled but finished her work. She put her pencil down and closed her notebook. She glared at Dean. "Now can I go do something else?"
Dean pinched the bridge of his nose and waved her off.
Kate went to the gym and took out some of her frustration on the punching bag. She missed Ellie and wanted to at least be at school if she was going to be doing school work. She had gotten answers about how and why Nephilian were created but it wasn't enough. She wanted to know exactly how it worked and who was responsible. She wanted to know how to use abilities and also wanted to go on a few hunts.
Dean wanted to get out too but had to be the adult. He was tired of looking at the brick walls and even Taylor was getting antsy. There was nothing for Taylor to organize that wasn't already tidy. Dean watched him sort the same things over and over and wondered if the kid wasn't a little OCD.
Taylor kept working on schoolwork although he was bored. The material was easier since gaining his abilities so he was nearing the end of the mountain of work the teachers had sent. "Do you think we could skip grades?"
Dean looked at him. "That easy?"
Taylor shrugged. "Yeah. If we graduate early, we can hunt."
Dean eyed Taylor. "You could become a doctor."
"That was Kate's dream."
Dean sighed. "Just focus on being a kid. These years fly by and you can never get them back."
Kate jumped up and grabbed a bar. She swung her legs and brought her feet up to meet her hands. She was certain that she could be an Olympic gymnast if she ever got the opportunity to learn the actual moves. She dropped back onto her feet and flopped onto the mat. She looked at the ceiling and wished there was something mildly entertaining to do. She rolled onto her stomach and stared at her water bottle. She blinked at it was gone.
Dean jumped out of his chair and spun around as water sprayed him.
Taylor ducked and frowned at the state of his papers.
Dean looked around. "What the hell was that?"
Taylor dabbed his book with a paper towel. "I don't know."
Dean put his hands on the table. "Kate!"
Kate heard Dean yell and groaned as she stood up. She rolled her eyes as she rounded the corner. "What?"
Dean flicked his hand to tell her to approach. "What did you do?"
Kate shrugged. "What do you mean."
Dean took off his flannel and showed Kate the wet spot on his t-shirt.
Kate started laughing.
Dean glared at her. "What did you do?"
Kate covered her mouth. "I was just staring at my water bottle and it disappeared."
"So where is the bottle? We found the water." Dean said.
Kate shrugged. "I don't know." She looked at the glass on the table and grinned when it vanished. She flinched when she heard the sound of breaking glass in the hallway.
"Katelyn!"
Kate looked at Dean. "What?"
"What part of do not use abilities isn't making it through your head?" Dean bit.
Kate rolled her eyes. "It is harmless."
"If it is truly harmless, why didn't that water bottle end up here in one piece?" Dean asked.
Kate shrugged again.
"Castiel said that ability is dangerous. He also said not to use any right now." Dean said.
Kate groaned. "We are Nephilian, we should be doing Nephilian stuff. So what if it draws something to me? Nothing can get in here."
"Not yet," Dean said.
Kate stared at Dean for a moment before leaving the room.
Taylor sighed as she left. He walked around the table and put a hand on Dean.
"What?" Dean said.
"I'm guessing she told you to stop bugging her." Taylor said.
Dean rubbed his head. "You can undo a compulsion?"
Taylor nodded. "Apparently."
Dean pinched the bridge of his nose. "Last thing I need is a scrambled brain."
Taylor frowned. "Sorry. I thought you'd want it erased."
Dean put a hand on Taylor's head. "Not mad at you, kid. Thank you."
Taylor gave him a small smile. "I'll go talk to her."
"Give her some space. She is just going to wind up talking herself into hot water." Dean said.
Taylor sat back down and fanned his papers.
Dean gasped and stumbled forward. "Use a door!"
Castiel still didn't know what Dean's problem was. "This is easier."
Dean shot the angel a sour look. "It is creepy."
"Is there any news?" Taylor asked.
Castiel smoothed his tie. "Yes. Heaven is aware that there is something powerful that has been created. There is much chatter and speculation."
"What are they saying?" Kate asked as she walked back to the library after hearing Castiel's voice.
"Some think that a Nephilim has been born." Castiel said.
Kate snorted. "Not far off."
Castiel narrowed his eyes. "That is not a good thing."
Kate held her hands up. "Fine."
"Kate." Dean said.
Kate rolled her eyes. "What?"
Dean walked by Taylor and Castiel and grabbed Kate's arm as he pulled her into the hallway. "Do we need to talk about attitude and respect?"
Kate gritted her teeth.
"I know you are bored. I have been working with Cas on a way to get you guys outside or at least give you a way to use your abilities." Dean said.
"If I use them, I get stronger. If I get stronger, nothing can touch me." Kate said.
"We don't know that." Dean said.
Kate pulled her arm. "I am done living in fear."
Dean tightened his grip. "This isn't living in fear. This is listening to an angel that has a whole lot more experience than you do."
Kate slumped. "I just want to try things out."
"We can talk to Cas about it if you can control yourself and go back in there." Dean said.
Kate sighed. "Okay."
Taylor gave Kate a sympathetic look.
Castiel had spoken to Taylor while Dean spoke to Kate. "I can cloak you while I am here. You could try basic abilities. If the power is visible, I can claim that it was my own."
Kate perked up. "Sweet!"
Castiel cleared his throat. "You have been sending off signals today."
Kate put her hands on her hips. "How do you know it was me?"
Castiel tilted his head. "Was it not?"
Kate rolled her eyes.
Taylor wanted eyes off of Kate before she dug herself into a hole. "What type of stuff can we try?"
"I do not know right now. I will have to return."
Kate growled when the angel vanished. "Son of a-"
"Do not finish that sentence." Dean said.
"I'm going to my room." Kate said.
Dean sighed. He looked at his phone and dialed John's number. "Hey, dad. Yeah, we are fine. When are you coming back through?"
John could hear the tension in Dean's voice. "A day or two. I can stay and you can take a few hunts."
Dean relaxed. "That would be great."
"Are they giving you trouble?" John asked.
"Taylor isn't." Dean said.
Taylor gave him a look.
Dean held the phone out to Taylor.
Taylor took it. "Yes sir?"
John smirked. "How are you feeling?"
"Good I think. All the effects are gone. I'm just bored." Taylor admitted.
"A buddy of mine found a box of tags. They are small and old. Many are hard to read and he's been trying to sort them but they are all similar. Each type has a purpose. I told him you might be able to make sense of it." John said.
Taylor smiled. "I'd love that. I need a job or two. How big are they?"
John had assumed Taylor would like sorting the things. "Maybe the size of a fingernail."
Taylor's eyes twinkled. "Yeah, totally. Is there literature that goes with them?"
Dean rolled his eyes. "Literature."
"Yes, there is a book. He is just having a hard time telling the difference in some of them." John said. "I'll bring those when I stop by."
"Thank you!" Taylor said, cheerfully.
John chuckled. "I wish the other three were that happy to do grunt work."
Dean heard John. "You didn't ask us as nicely."
John shook his head. "I'd like to talk to Kate."
Taylor grimaced. "She is a little prickly right now."
"I can handle her." John said.
Taylor walked to Kate's room. "Uh, John wants to speak to you."
Kate took the phone. "Yes?"
"How are you feeling?"
"Fine." Kate said.
"I have something for you but I can wait if Dean needs to blister you first." John said.
Kate growled. "I've said two words!"
"I know all about the attitude this week. Fix it." John said.
Kate fell back onto her bed. "I should just go back into a coma."
John counted backward from ten. "I had a project for you to work on."
Kate sighed. "What is it?"
"Leather strips and pouches. I'll bring everything you need but it is a whole lot of stabbing." John said.
Kate sat up. "I'm listening."
"I figured that would get your attention. There is a took that looks like a sharp nail. You'll dip it in a special kind of ink and drive the spike into the leather. The designs are intricate so I thought you'd have a nack for it."
"I can do it." Kate said.
"Good. Now, what's going on with you?" John asked.
Kate groaned. "There is nothing to do. I'm a literal angelic being and can't even use the simplest ability."
John nodded. "I hear you. Dean has explained why that is."
"Well, it is stupid. I have spent too long just waiting around." Kate said.
John sighed. "Give it a little bit longer."
Kate let her hand smack her forehead. "Right."
John spoke to her for a little longer and could hear the battle within herself with wanting to snap. "Dean is also at wits end. He can't go anywhere either so you need to stop being disrespectful."
Kate threw a shoe at the wall. "I'll suffer more cheerfully."
John shook his head. That was something Sam would have said. "If he has to spank you, you'll get a second from me when I get there. I left him in charge. I didn't leave him to deal with attitude."
Kate kicked the leg of her bed. "That isn't fair. "
"You are right. It isn't fair to him." John said, knowing she meant it was unfair to her.
Kate's face turned red. "Fine."
"You know the approved answer." John said.
Kate clenched her fist. "Yes, sir." She stomped into Dean's room and slammed the phone onto his bed. "There."
Dean leaned back. He didn't react to her tantrum and just picked his phone up.
Kate went back to the gym to blow off steam. She wanted to scream and break stuff.
Taylor followed her. "Do you want to spar?"
Kate cracked her neck. "Sure."
Taylor put his water on a table and cleared the mats. He stretched a little before approaching her. "Let's go."
Kate bounced from foot to foot. She threw a punch and growled when he blocked it.
Taylor assumed he'd be taking the defensive position due to how angry she was. He blocked a few more jabs and bit his tongue when her foot connected with his leg.
Kate gave him a second to regroup. She spun to kick him again but he caught her leg.
Dean watched them from the doorway. They were both excellent fighters.
Taylor got a few good jabs in but knew she'd be okay. He threw her off balance and knocked her on her back. He held out his hand to help her up. "I forgot how fun this is."
Kate felt a little better after sparring for a while. She was sweaty and looked around for a water bottle. She held her hand out and tried to summon one to her.
Taylor touched her arm. "Here, just have mine."
Kate glared at him. "I'm fine."
Dean stepped into the room. "Do you need water?"
Kate walked around him and got water from the kitchen.
Taylor followed her. "Hey, he is trying to meet you halfway."
Kate whirled. "What are you? Fucking president of the Dean fan club? I am just getting my own water."
Taylor winced. "I'm sparring with you. I'm trying to help. Please calm down."
Kate took a deep breath. She gave him a forced smile. "I'm calm."
Taylor blocked her path. "Everyone is on edge. You are forcing his hand."
Kate found Taylor annoying at times. "Move."
Taylor sighed. "Please think clearly."
Kate glared at him. "Move."
Taylor didn't. He felt a jolt of energy hit him and fell. He held his chest and stared at her. "What the hell?"
"I told you to move."
Dean walked into the hallway. "Hey! What is going on?"
Taylor got up. He glanced wearily at Dean.
"He wouldn't get out of the way." Kate said.
"Did you hit him?"
"We have been sparring for an hour." Kate said.
Taylor looked down at his feet.
Dean crossed his arms. "Taylor, what did she hit you with?"
Taylor looked between the two of them. "I don't know."
"Really? So was it her hand or something else?" Dean asked with a raised eyebrow.
Kate rolled her eyes and tried to walk by Dean.
Dean grabbed her. "You are on incredibly thin ice."
Kate jerked her arm free.
"Did she use an ability?" Dean asked.
Taylor sighed and nodded his head.
"Go to your room." Dean said.
Kate huffed. "That is where I was trying to go in the first place." She whirlled around and stomped off to her room. She slammed her door and sat down on her bed.
Dean pressed on the edge of his eyes with his thumbs. "Are you okay?"
Taylor sighed. "Yes. I was blocking her way. I shouldn't have provoked her."
Dean shook his head. "What was your goal with that."
Taylor smiled sheepishly. "I was trying to convince her to calm down."
Dean nodded. "That didn't go as planned I'm taking it."
Taylor shrugged. "Not quite."
"Come with me." Dean said.
Taylor followed.
Dean went to the garage. "Pick a car."
Taylor pointed to a red 1956 chevy corvette.
"If you fix one up and sell it, you can keep the money."
Taylor's eyes grew wide. "Really?"
"Yeah, it will take some time. You are welcome to fix one for yourself but you can also save up for whatever you want." Dean said.
Taylor walked down the row of cars. "Where do I start?"
Dean looked at his watch. "Check out the manual if they have one. Bobby can help with whatever we can't figure out."
Taylor opened a car door and fumbled around for the booklet. "I'm guessing I'll need to do extensive reading for now."
Dean rubbed his eyes. "You can do what you want. Just know I'm going to be busy for a bit."
Taylor grimaced. "Okay."
Dean turned to go back to Kate's room. He didn't have the patience to deal with grumpy Kate. He opened her door and strolled in.
"So much for knocking." Kate said.
"Keep it up and you'll lose the door entirely." Dean said.
Kate scoffed.
"Anything you want to say?" Dean asked.
"Not that you won't bitch about." Kate mumbled.
Dean sighed and sat down on her bed and flipped her over his lap before she could react.
"Let me go." Kate hissed.
Dean swatted her a dozen times. "No. We are going to have a long talk."
Kate pushed against his leg.
"Let me know when you are ready to talk." Dean said and continued swatting. His hand caught mid-air and he closed his eyes. "Stop."
Kate pushed herself off of his lap. "You stop."
Dean raised an eyebrow. "You know better."
"You can't do this anymore."
"Like hell, I can't. You are still a kid. I'm still responsible for you and I am not going to put up with the eye rolls and backchat." Dean said.
Kate crossed her arms. "Let me have some space."
Dean shook his head. "Tried that."
"This is stupid." Kate said. "It's like poking a giant with a thumbtack. Pointless and just pisses them off."
"You have two seconds to get back over my knee or my belt comes off." Dean said.
Kate stood her ground. "Supernatural beings do not get subjected to childish punishments."
"They do in this family." Dean said. "You are still a kid. You still need hugs and reassurance. You still need guidance and are in dire need of a sore butt right now."
Kate stepped back. "No."
"Belt it is." Dean said as he stood up.
Kate held her hand out to stop him.
"Cas, if you're out there, I'd like a word with you." Dean said and glanced toward the ceiling.
Kate balled her fists. "You mother-"
Castiel appeared and silenced Kate. "Yes?"
Dean blinked rapidly. "Kate here is under the impression that she is above rules and consequences since making the transition. Is this true?"
Castiel looked at Kate. "No."
Kate's nose flared.
"Getting a spanking is too childish of a punishment for her. What would happen if one of your kind acted like this."
Dean glared at him.
Castiel looked between the two. "You'd be thrown in jail, have your wings pinned, a menagerie of other torments, or just killed."
Kate's eyes grew wide. She spoke once Castiel lifted his muting. "Do I have wings?"
"That isn't the point." Dean said. "Nobody is putting up with crap from you, Nephilian or not."
Kate rolled her eyes.
"If you'd prefer to be put back to sleep, I can do that." Castiel said.
Kate glared at him. "Do not touch me."
Castiel flicked his hand, releasing Dean from Kate's compulsion. He looked at Dean. "Simply pray if there are any more issues."
Dean blinked and Cas was gone. "That settles that."
Kate tried to block Dean again but it didn't work. "This isn't fair."
"Oh, it is more than fair." He said and unbuckled his belt.
Kate backed into the wall. "No."
"I warned you." Dean said.
Kate bit her lip. "I'll cooperate."
"Great." Dean said and pulled it from his pants.
"Dean, I'm too little."
Dean scoffed. "No, Miss Nephilian. You claimed to be too big for childish punishments so this is what you get."
"Dean." Kate whined. "I am just frustrated and lost my head."
Dean pointed to the spot in front of him.
Kate shook her head. "Please don't use that. You are too angry."
Dean shook his head. "No. I'm not." He walked to her and grabbed her arm, pulling her with him."
Kate dug her heels into the floor but it was slick. "Please!"
"Nope." Dean said. He sat down and put her back over his knee. He put the belt beside him and went back to warming her backside with his hand. "You do not act like this."
Kate realized she messed up. "Ow, okay. I know. I know."
"I know you know. That is why I am dumbfounded as to why the hell you are acting up."
Kate twisted. "The power messes with my head."
"That is the entire point!" Dean said.
She couldn't prevent herself from crying and buried her face in her pillow. "I'm sorry."
Dean picked up the belt and rested it on her thighs.
Kate panicked and tried to wiggle away. "No!"
Dean held her more firmly. "If you keep fighting me, your pants will get taken down."
Kate froze. "Noooo."
Dean nodded. He brought the belt down in the middle of her butt. He didn't lecture her as he brought it down five more times.
Kate felt truly sorry. "No more. I'm really sorry."
Dean tapped her. "You made the choices. I am not going easy on you. If you pulled that crap with dad he wouldn't be holding you."
Kate wailed into her pillow. She hoped beyond hope that John wouldn't do that.
"Five more unless you want to kick off." Dean said.
Kate shook her head wildly. She flew off his lap as soon as he let her up and rubbed furiously. "Owwww."
Dean put his belt back on. "Are you done?"
Kate nodded. "I'm sorry, Dean."
Dean held his arms out. "That is the half angel half human version of getting your wings pinned."
Kate cried in his arms. "I'm sorry."
Dean patted her back. He hated every second of that and was glad it was over. "Take a breath."
Kate took a shaky breath. "It hurts."
"Well, yeah. I'd say it does." Dean said.
Kate rested her head on his shoulder. "I'm sorry."
"No more. Okay?"
Kate nodded quickly.
"You are going to take a nap. When you wake up, you are going to be sweet Kate again. No sass, no backtalk, no eyerolls."
"Okay." Kate sniffled.
Dean laid her on her bed and wiped her face. "I never want to do that again."
Kate nodded. "Me either."
Dean rubbed her back until she fell asleep. He watched her breathe for a few minutes and rubbed his face. How was he going to manage her? He didn't forsee her giving into dark forces but she may make choices out of pure stubbornness.
Taylor looked up as Dean walked back into the garage. He looked worn. "You okay?"
Dean chuckled. "Yeah."
Taylor sat on the hood of the impala. "Do you have anyone to vent to?"
Dean rubbed his head. "I'm okay."
Taylor scoffed. "I'm not trying to be disrespectful but you look like crap."
Dean smirked. "Respectfully."
"Yes." Taylor said. "I know we aren't easy. None of this is easy and you're doing a great job. Maybe talk to Sam more. Talk to somebody and don't hold back."
Dean put his hand on Taylor's shoulder. "You are a kid. Worry about being a kid."
"I'm more than a kid." Taylor said.
Dean sighed.
Taylor saw Dean's face. "I'm going a different direction than Kate went."
Dean chuckled. "Go ahead."
"So, I have brothers. They suck. I could never go to them and tell them I'm stressed. Then, I moved into Bobby's house and suddenly I have you guys not only listening but whacking me if I don't spill."
Dean furrowed his brows. "I'm not sure it was quite like that."
Taylor smiled. "My point is, talking is better than keeping it in and snapping. It is okay to complain or to admit it sucks being here all the time. I know you want to hunt."
Dean studied Taylor. "This feels backward."
Taylor gently cleaned a smudge from baby's window. " She is probably asleep. I sure as hell am not going to do anything after that."
"Sound carries?" Dean asked.
Taylor nodded. "Some of it."
Dean nodded.
"Go, go for a drive. I can call you if anything happens." Taylor said.
Dean sighed. "I don't think that is a good idea."
"Bring back milkshakes or something. You need a minute and that is okay. I can even call Bobby and he can keep me on speakerphone to babysit." Taylor said.
Dean considered it. He did need a minute. "Alright. Alright."
Taylor smiled. "Don't get arrested."
Dean snorted. "I'll try."
Taylor opened the door for Dean and watched the Impala fade as it exited the tunnel. He shut the door again and grabbed a few books from the library. He tossed a blanket on the floor outside Kate's room and gathered the kittens. "We are on guard duty." He opened the first book and studied it. He put a bookmark on one page and flipped through another book. He took notes and tapped the pencil against his forehead. He was studying alphas. If an alpha was the first of their kind, did that make them an alpha or was Isaiah an alpha. He left the kittens and searched for another book on angels and archangels. Through visions and research, they had learned that all other forms of Nephilian had died. He had a vague idea floating around in the back of his mind and couldn't quite grasp it. He read through the names of archangels and rubbed his face. There were only a handful of archangels and there wasn't much known about them. Some had supposedly died but how? He ran is fingers across the list and settled on a name. What if Isaiah's name wasn't Isaiah?

This chapter was partially by request. Some things to think about: can Cas block Kate's powers from Dean permanently? Would that effect the healing powers? Would that work against all angels?
