"Who the hell is Gabriel?" Dean repeated.
Taylor grabbed his research from his room. "When I was looking at archangels I kept getting stuck on this name. That can't be a coincidence."
"So your grace comes from this Gabriel dude?" Dean asked.
Caleb sat down on the bed and ran his hands over his stomach. "Somebody fill me in."
Kate joined the small crowd. "You're awake!"
Caleb put his hands over his face.
Kate looked up at John. "So what worked?"
"Taylor's blood boosted yours... we think." John said.
"Blood?" Caleb asked.
Dean cleared his throat so everyone would stop talking. "How much do you remember?"
Caleb leaned back on the bed. "We were in that basement and one of those things got me. I remember being outside."
"You were bad off. Kate had given me some of her blood for emergencies and I used it." Dean said.
"Didn't you say that stuff can kill you?" Caleb asked.
Dean sat down beside Caleb. "You were taking your last breaths."
Caleb sat up and looked around the room.
"When you got here, I gave you blood in an IV. That healed you enough to keep you stable." Kate said.
Caleb looked down at his arm where the port was. "What happened with the house?"
"I burned it. Castiel went back and caught one of those things. He has it locked up." Dean said.
Caleb ran his fingers down the lines on his leg. "So what is it?"
Taylor ran to get the broken claw from the med bay.
"We don't know." John said.
Taylor returned. "Kate pulled this out this morning."
Caleb took the pan with the claw in it and grimaced. The memory of being pulled into the darkness gripped him.
"Things were pretty grim for a while." John said. "I have never seen anyone survive anything like that."
Caleb handed the pan back to Taylor. "So you brought me here?"
"The hospital wouldn't have been able to do anything." John said.
"That close huh?" Caleb asked.
Dean nodded slowly.
"But you are okay now." Kate said. "Right?"
"I'm not burning." Caleb said.
"Castiel pulled the grace from his blood." Dean said.
Kate huffed. "I missed all of that?"
John gave her a look.
"After the grace was pulled out, Castiel said that heaven was going nuts. Something about Gabriel." Taylor said.
Kate chewed her lip. "That doesn't sound good."
"More wait and see." John said.
"How are you feeling?" Kate asked Caleb.
"Alright I guess." He was dazed and confused. His abdomen hurt like he had done too many sit ups. He was trying to wrap his head around the type of healing that he had experienced. When Kate fixed his ankle, it was minor and she took the edge off. The first thing he saw when he woke up was his stomach closing. The jump in power was alarming although he was eternally grateful that they had saved him. "So, how did you go from ankles to pulling people from death?"
Kate swallowed. "Long story."
Dean sighed. "You guys should go and let Caleb and I talk."
John guided the kids toward the door. "Let us know if you need anything."
Dean waited for the door to shut. "A lot has happened."
"Apparently." Caleb said. "Where are we?"
Dean rubbed the back of his head. "The bat cave. One thing at a time. I need to know that you will not repeat any of this. If anything gets out, their lives will be at risk."
"I owe them some secrecy." Caleb said.
"Kate and Taylor took on a large amount of grace. It changed them. It nearly killed them. When they healed from that ordeal, they came out on the other side stronger. They haven't gotten to try out much because some bad angels would very much like to get their hands on them." Dean said.
"Why would they want that?"
"The potential power. They want them dead or they want to use them. It isn't just angels but angels are the ones tracking them. Every time they use a big power, it is like a beacon." Dean said.
"So saving my ass?"
"Neon arrow."
"Damn, I'd have understood if you let me go out there." Caleb said.
"You know I couldn't do that. I didn't know if her blood would even work but you were in such bad shape. Do you know what a Nephilim is?" Dean asked.
Caleb's eyes grew wide. "Are they Nephilim?"
"No." Dean said. "Not quite. It is a long story."
Caleb shifted so he could lean against the headboard of the bed. "So you are in the bat cave to keep angels... bad angels... from attacking kids?"
"Yep."
"Kate really saved me?" Caleb asked.
"She was a big part of it." Dean said. "I know it is freaky but I am trusting you to keep this under wraps. You can't go off telling the story about your stomach getting ripped open. You won't have a scar and people will want to know why."
Caleb sighed. "It was supposed to be a milk run."
"You jinxed it." Dean said.
Caleb touched his stomach. "I don't even know what to say or think."
"Don't think too much about it. It will never make sense."
"They can really heal somebody like that?"
"Yeah, that is the start of it." Dean said.
"Damn."
"You should get some rest. Dean said.
Caleb looked at the bed. "Who does this bed belong to?"
Dean shrugged. "You, I guess."
"I'm not putting anyone out?" Caleb asked.
Dean shook his head. "Not at all. Get some sleep and then I'll give you the tour."
"Right on, man." Caleb said before flopping onto the pillow. He closed his eyes and laced his fingers behind his head.
Dean sighed and left Caleb alone. It was so good to see him physically normal but the mental component was much more fickle.
Kate was sitting at the table working on her homework when Dean came out. "How is he?"
"He will be okay. He is going to rest." Dean said.
Kate closed her notebook and turned.
"Eyes on papers, now." John said.
Kate groaned and turned back to her work. She wished she could automatically complete the problems. They were boring.
Dean turned the timer back on and held it up.
Taylor chuckled at Kate's face.
"You might as well work on yours too." John said.
"Yes, sir." Taylor said and went to get his books.
John walked with Dean toward the library. "Bobby is going to get a location on David. Seems like Taylor isn't sure if his dream was just a dream. With all that is going on, it is probably safe. I don't want that location being shared though."
"Right there with you. Have you heard anything about the housefire?" Dean asked.
John shook his head. "I listened to the scanner. We are probably too far out. However, police did get a major lead in a case. Some big wig got caught with evidence on his work computer that ties him to a couple of murders."
"Really?" Dean asked.
"Same office building I sent you to." John said.
"Yeah, the ghost was this college girl. She lead us to the computer and we called the cops before leaving." Dean said. "I wiped everything down and made sure there were no cameras."
John put a hand on Dean's shoulder and squeezed. "You did good."
Dean relaxed. "Thanks."

Castiel entered heaven in search of answers. He found a colleague and stopped them. "What is this about Gabriel?"
"We think that Aphrim was working for Gabriel. Everyone thought he had been killed eons ago but there is evidence that he is out there." The angel said.
"What kind of evidence?"
"You didn't see it?" The angel asked.
"I'm not sure what you mean." Castiel answered.
"Archangel grace in a beam of light."
Castiel swallowed. "No, I didn't see that. How strange."
"Scouts are trying to track where it came from. If Gabriel lives, we must know."
Castiel closed his eyes. "Thank you for the insight." He left heaven and returned to the bunker. "We have a problem."
Dean jumped. "Personal. Space."
Castiel ignored him. "Gabriel's grace was witnessed by others in heaven and scouts are trying to track where it came from."
"Damn it." John said. "Now what?"
"Full lockdown. No one goes in or out until they look over this place."
"Haven't we been on full lockdown?" Dean asked.
Castiel flicked his hand. "No, no one leaves." He disappeared.
Dean threw his hands up. "Son of a bitch. Did he just lock the doors?"
John tried to open the door at the top of the stairs. "Looks like it."
"Well, this is just great." Dean said as he paced.
"Dean." John said.
"We have been going insane being stuck down here and that was when I could at least go get pizza." Dean said. "If I hadn't left Caleb..."
John sighed. "Do not do that to yourself. Blame me if you want to. I'm the one that sent you there."
Dean looked John in the eyes for a moment. "No, it was supposed to be simple. Nothing would have warned us."
"Exactly. So we are playing with the hand we have been dealt." John said.
Dean sat down in a chair and looked up at the ceiling. "Are you going to keep that box on a shelf for the rest of your life?"
John sat down across from him. "I spent Sam's life chasing that demon. I'm not just going to burn the box."
"Revenge isn't as sweet if he can't suffer from it?"
John nodded. "That is one way to put it. I have questions."
"Does it bother you that the kids captured him?" Dean asked as he sat forward.
John pondered the question. "No. It isn't how I thought it would happen but it wasn't messy."
"You can't go out swinging if there is nothing to swing at." Dean said.
John shrugged. "Hunting would be less messy if those two got control of their abilities."
"They are kids, not weapons."
"I didn't say that. Caleb wouldn't have made it out of that driveway without those two kids. I have been running it over in my head and it just doesn't make sense." John said.
"They could easily be the most powerful people that we ever run into and one of them likes bedtime stories and hugs and the other nearly faints when you compliment him. It is a lot to wrap your head around." Dean said.
John chuckled. "Kate was phenomenal with Caleb and Taylor filled in the gaps. The med bay looks like no one had so much as a bloody nose."
"They make a great team. As long as Kate learns to listen and Taylor keeps himself from crushing David, we will be golden." Dean said.
Kate strolled into the library. "What am I supposed to be listening to?"
"Not our conversation." Dean said.
Kate scoffed. "Your voice carries. Besides, I have papers for you to look at." She dropped the folder on the table in front of Dean.
Dean leafed through the papers. "Only took a few days and several threats to your life but you did it."
Kate sat on the table. "Excuse me for being more concerned with the life and wellbeing of others than world history."
Dean patted her leg. "Stubborn to the core."
The afternoon ticked on as they waited for word from Castiel. At one point Caleb woke up to the smell of food and followed it. "Dean?"
Dean went to Caleb's voice. "Hey, careful, you'll get lost in here and we will never find you."
"You said this place was big but I wasn't expecting this." Caleb said.
"I can give you the full tour. I won't ruin any surprises."
Caleb's stomach growled. "I could take a bite to eat. I haven't eaten in a while."
Dean lead him to the kitchen. "You are welcome to anything in here. Looks like Taylor is cooking something his grandmother sent." He removed the lid from a pot and let the steam hit his face. He licked his lips. "Anything she makes is good."
Taylor walked into the kitchen. "Not if you let all the steam out."
Dean put the lid back on. "Castiel has us on full lockdown, just so you know."
Taylor sighed. "I'm shocked."
"Wait what does that mean?" Caleb asked.
"The doors are locked and no one can get in or out. It shouldn't be for long. He just wants us to lay low and stay hidden until this area has been scanned or something like that."
Caleb's heart started to race. He swallowed hard as the feeling of being trapped returned.
Dean put a hand on his shoulder. "Hey, snap out of it. This place is massive and there is enough to keep you busy for a while. This is just a precaution."
Caleb nodded quickly and shut his eyes.
"Do you want to see the weapons room?" Dean asked.
Caleb opened his eyes. "You know I'm not one of the kids."
"I'm trying to distract you. I mean, I can hug you if you want." Dean opened his arms.
Caleb punched him in the stomach. "Just show me the damn weapons."
Dean held his stomach although Caleb didn't hit him hard. He turned to Taylor and mouthed the word 'cookies.' "Take a right after that doorway. No, a right, dumbass."
Taylor grinned. Seeing Dean in shock was soul-wrenching but hearing the two bicker made the previous day seem like a bad dream. If they were going to be in the bunker much longer, they'd need more food. Marie did send a lot but the number of people had nearly doubled. Some things like milk, eggs, and bread only stayed good for a few days and they'd need to buy more of those. He braced himself against the counter and slowed his breathing. No need to panic. Focus on being a kid. But what if they were down there so long that they developed rickets? Could Nephilian get rickets? He shook his head. No one was getting rickets. They'd see the sun again one day. He got cookie dough balls from the freezer and placed them on a pan to thaw. He did a quick inventory of the kitchen and wrote a list of things they'd need eventually. If they had a grow lamp they could have herbs. He rubbed his face. They wouldn't be stuck there forever.
Dean turned the armory light on. "Now, we did take a couple things initially because we didn't plan on coming back but there is still a lot here."
"Is that a grenade launcher?" Caleb asked.
Dean's eyes brightened. "Sure is."
Caleb removed it from the wall. "I'm very distracted."
"Is that what you call it?" Dean asked.
Caleb eyed the weapon. "Yep."
"Don't drool on it." Dean said. "There are some old, but sharp, swords in here. There is another one in the library. It is not a decoration."
Caleb raised an eyebrow. "What the hell is this place."
"Bat cave." Dean said.
"They have Tommy guns?!" Caleb said as he put the launcher back and grabbed a gun.
"They work too." Dean said.
Caleb met eyes with him. "How do you know that?"
"This place has a firing range. All of this stuff was in mint condition when we got here."
"Ammo?" Caleb asked.
Dean pointed to a set of large metal shelves. "Plenty."
Caleb walked around the room. "I think I may have actually died and gone to heaven."
Dean took the gun back and put it on its shelf. "That would be a whole lot easier to explain. Would you like to see the garage?"
"Sure." Caleb said. He left his car in a parking lot somewhere but it was nice that they were able to park their cars inside. He followed Dean through a door and his breath hitched. "I thought you meant garage, not museum."
"It is a bit of both. Nothing in there except Baby and dad's truck was made after 1958. That seems to be there year this place shut down."
Caleb ran his hand over the cars. "Why would they shut this down and leave this stuff?"
"I can't imagine it was a choice they made willingly." Dean said.
"What I wouldn't give to drive one of these." Caleb said, looking at a 50s era muscle car.
Dean pointed to a row of keys. "They have been sitting here for a few decades but those are the keys."
Caleb spun around. "Do you know how many thousands of dollars are in this room?"
"More than any of us have ever had to our name. Taylor is going to be working on that one over there. He can sell it and tuck the money away. I personally think the 60s were a better decade for cars." Dean said as he patted baby's hood.
"Oh, this is sweet." Caleb said when he found the motorcycles.
"Speaking from experience, after Kate saved your ass, if you so much as get road rash she will wring your neck." Dean said.
"Hey, I know how to ride." Caleb said.
Dean shrugged. "Just saying."
Caleb's stomach growled again.
"Food should be done by now. Wouldn't want you passing out on me." Dean teased.
Caleb patted his stomach. "I could eat a horse."
"You may want to pace yourself. Things could be jumbled." Dean said.
Caleb cringed. "It wasn't that deep."
Dean stopped walking. "Yeah, it was. I saw parts of you I don't ever want to see again."
"Well, that is... comforting." Caleb said. He kept his eyes to the floor until they got to the kitchen.
Kate pointed to a place setting. "You can sit there. What do you want to drink?"
"Water is fine." Caleb said.
Dean poured an amber liquid over three glasses of ice. He handed one to Caleb. "Don't chug it." He handed John one and grabbed the other for himself.
Caleb smelled of the glass. "What is this?" He sipped it and closed his eyes. "That is smooth."
"Another benefit of this place. There is a cabinet of this kind of stuff. Since this place hasn't been opened since 1958, everything is older than that." Kate said.
Caleb looked at her. "You act like you know enough about that."
"I tried it. It was gross. I have just heard Dean's speech about it too many times." Kate said.
Caleb chuckled. "That's how I know you aren't John Winchester's blood daughter."
John sat down. "I don't think the boys were big on this kind of stuff at your age."
Kate caught a look that Dean and Caleb shared and giggled. She helped Taylor with the plates and filled glasses with water.
Taylor was antsy. He sat down and started to eat his food but his mind was elsewhere.
"Taylor." John said.
"Sir?" Taylor asked.
"You look like you're going to jump out of your skin." John said.
Taylor stopped bouncing his legs. "I'm sorry."
Dean nudged him. "What is wrong?"
Taylor shrugged. "Nothing." he said before stuffing his mouth full of food.
Caleb watched Taylor and continued to eat his food.
John simply looked at Taylor.
Taylor swallowed. "It isn't a David thing."
John narrowed his eyes.
"It really is nothing. You know how my brain just goes into hyperdrive." Taylor stammered.
John didn't say anything but didn't lower his eyes either.
Taylor put his fork down. "I-"
Caleb leaned over the table. "He's doing the John Winchester thing where he stares into your soul until you crack."
Kate stifled a laugh.
Taylor took a sip of his water. "I don't want rickets."
John sat back and furrowed his brows.
"If we are going to be down here for too much longer, will we develop a vitamin D deficiency? If no one can come in or out, will Castiel still be able to? With an increased number of people in the bunker, our food supply will run out quicker. We are running out of things like milk and eggs." Taylor spat out.
John took a deep breath. "You aren't going to develop brittle bones from lack of sun. We will figure out the rest of it as we go. Castiel is out doing what he needs to do and we can ask him when we get back."
"If we really can't leave, who will protect Nate and Ellie?"
"Well, you wouldn't be the one doing that. Bobby is tracking him down. If he becomes an issue, Bobby will handle it." John said.
Taylor looked down at his plate. "Okay."
Dean cleared his throat. "Did you hear anything else about the girls?"
John nodded. "They have identified some of them."
Caleb perked up. "Ghost girl?"
"Yeah, police found the photos." Dean said.
"That is great. I hope the creep burns." Caleb said.
"Andy hasn't called." Kate said with a smirk.
Caleb raised an eyebrow.
"Dean got rid of a ghost for a mom and her two kids. Pretty sure he's trying to expand the family." Kate said.
Dean smacked the back of her head. "The kid is a runner."
"I thought we had a zero kid pact." Caleb said.
Dean rubbed his face.
"He has me and Taylor." Kate said. "So he already broke that."
Dean shoved her. "You are feral. It isn't the same thing."
"What you are saying is I'm not a kid." Kate said.
Dean sighed. "A massive pain in the ass."
Kate grinned.
Taylor was tired. His brain was still considering every possible outcome for each situation. Misty had anxiety and it was one of the few things she passed on to Taylor. He knew he was being irrational but the deep-seated worry filled his stomach and made the food feel heavy.
Dean could tell that Taylor was losing himself in thought. "I owe you a butt kicking."
Taylor's head snapped up. "What?"
"I was supposed to spar with you before all of this happened." Dean said.
Taylor blinked. "Oh. I forgot about that."
"I did too but I think smacking some kids around would brighten my mood." Dean said.
Taylor smiled. "Unless your pride gets hurt."
Dean smiled back. "You can't use abilities."
Taylor shrugged. "Don't need them."
John chuckled softly.
"You said kids." Kate said.
Dean poked her. "If you're up for it."
Kate rolled her eyes. "You aren't supposed to smack around girls."
Dean laughed. "You aren't a girl. You are a Kate. A monster won't care if you are a girl or not."
"That doesn't seem like a fair fight." Caleb said.
Kate finished her water. "It isn't because he's old and slow." She stood up and flicked Dean on the ear before running to the sink.
"Wash those!" Dean said.
Kate groaned. "Old and grumpy."
Taylor stood up. "Is it okay if I go too?"
John nodded.
"Are you as hard on them as you are on Sam?" Caleb asked.
"Just hold your judgment." Dean said with a chuckle. "I taught them what they know so they can't take me down but I guarantee Kate would wipe the floor with you."
"Well, yeah because she is a little girl and I'm not going to fight her." Caleb said.
John swirled the ice in his glass. "That is called a weakness on your part. She's fast. If she would just run away more often..."
"She prefers to taunt." Dean said. "She is like a pitbull at times."
Caleb tilted his head.
Dean took a deep breath. "When they did the grace stuff, Kate got locked in her head. She was having visions. She got stuck in hell for days, although for us it was minutes. She tackled the demon that killed my mom and knocked him out of the vision. Then, Taylor wrangled him and he is currently in a box on his shelf." He tilted his head toward John.
Caleb laughed. "Wait, seriously?"
"Sam and I were both there. It was hot and humid and smelled awful. She went into protective mode and body slammed the son of a bitch."
"Damn." Caleb said.
"They are pretty cool beings." Dean said.
"What are they?" Caleb asked.
John stopped Dean. "They are hunted. They are powerful and important. They saved your life."
Caleb held his hands up. "I had my reservations about them but I don't anymore."
"If you breathe a word of this, it could cause them to be caught or killed. I see you as a brother but..." Dean said.
"I understand." Caleb said.
"They are Nephilian." Dean said.
"Nephilim?"
"Synthetic Nephilim." Dean said.
"I have never heard of that." Caleb said.
John tapped the table. "Because all other versions of Nephilian died from grace exposure."
"So they are the only two... Nephilian?" Caleb asked.
Dean nodded. "That we know of. There is a hunter that somehow knows the name and is looking for a way to kill them."
Caleb furrowed his brows. "Why? They are kids."
"We don't know." John said.
Caleb ate the last bite of food. "Damn."
When the table was cleared and dishes put away, Caleb and Dean walked down to the gym.
John found Kate in her room.
Kate looked at him. "Hi."
"Caleb knows about you being Nephilian. I need you to compel him." John said.
Kate tilted her head. "Why?"
"I trust him. Dean trusts him but we have to be careful. He doesn't need to forget but he can't slip." John said.
Kate shrugged. "Before he leaves I can compel him to forget about it if the topic comes up."
"Just remember not to compel anyone yet." John said.
Kate gave him a thumbs up. "Got it."
Caleb looked around the gym. "What doesn't this place have?"
"A pool." Taylor said.
"Put it on your wishlist." Dean said.
"That hallway could probably handle suds." Caleb said.
Dean's eyes grew wide. "Oh man."
"What?"
Caleb sat on a bench. "There was this motel that had a concrete walkway. Two young gentlemen were slowly walking through when a bucket, untouched, was knocked from a cleaning cart. After one of them busted their ass, the two, totally innocent young men figured out the whole walkway could possibly be a giant slip and slide with enough soap and water."
John walked in. "What he means is he and Dean were being dumbasses and trashed a motel hallway."
Dean scoffed. "That floor had never been cleaner."
"Your brother nearly cracked his head open because you yelled and made him think you were being murdered." John said.
"Well, he's at Stanford right now so he was fine." Dean said.
Taylor grinned. "That sounds fun."
John narrowed his eyes and Dean and Caleb. "Want to tell him the rest of that story?"
Dean shook his head. "Nope."
Kate skipped in behind John. "Oh, we are so doing that."
"No one will be surprised and hit their head this time. It wasn't my fault Sammy fell like that." Dean said.
John shook his head. "Don't take advice from dumb and dumber."
Kate sat down beside Caleb. "What ratio of soap to water are we talking about?"
Caleb winked. "Later."
Taylor bounced on his toes. "Are we sparring or talking?"
Dean kicked the back of his knee. "Both."
Taylor stumbled and rolled forward so he was on Dean's weak side. He drove his foot into the side of Dean's leg and caused him to stumble too.
Dean righted himself and blocked one of Taylor's punches. "Good save."
Caleb motioned toward Dean's eye. "I meant to ask who gave you the shiner."
"This one." Dean said as he grabbed Taylor in a headlock. "Woke him up mid-dream."
Caleb laughed.
Taylor pulled Dean over his back to get him to release the arm around his neck. He landed on his back and winced.
Dean helped him up. "Follow through. Don't just let go after you flip someone."
Taylor rolled his shoulder. "Noted."
Caleb tried to keep up but they were both fast. He saw a few of Taylor's moves that he recognized as a Winchester special.
Taylor tapped out a few more times and finally got the upper hand. He threw Dean off balance and got his arms locked around his neck.
Dean tried to throw him off but the kid had a grip. He felt Taylor's knee digging into his back and fell sideways to loosen his grip. He tapped Taylor's arm. "What the hell was that?"
"If you had tried to throw me off, I could have just pushed with my feet and broken your neck." Taylor said.
Dean rubbed his neck. "Well, I'm glad you didn't."
Taylor showed Dean how he was holding his arms. "I was being careful."
Dean laid back on the mat. "I do feel a bit taller."
Kate kicked his foot. "Maybe you'll be as tall as Sam now." She yelped when her feet were swept from under her and she hit the mat.
Caleb winced.
Kate jumped on Dean's back as he was getting up.
Dean stood and put his hands on his hips. "She is like a monkey."
Caleb smiled.
Kate dug her elbow into Dean's neck.
He flipped her off his back. "If you try that for real, drive it into the artery."
Caleb looked at John. "I wouldn't be telling them how to make it lethal."
Dean shrugged. "We don't kill friends, right guys."
Kate jumped up. "Right." She ran at Dean like she was going to body-check him but knew he would flip her again. She changed directions at the last second and caught his shin with her knee.
Dean grunted. "Low blow."
Kate scrambled to her feet. "I could have kept running though."
Dean rubbed his shin. "How's your knee though?"
Kate kicked her leg. "It is fine."
"Make sure you control which part of your knee you are using or you'll dislocate it. You heal but that hurts like a bitch." Dean said. He motioned for her to walk over to him. "I'm going to show Caleb something. Don't take out my shins."
Kate rolled her eyes. "He makes extra rules when he's losing."
Dean put his arms around her neck and locked them. "Okay, get out of it."
Kate licked his arm.
Dean closed his eyes and smacked her forehead. "Not that way." He pushed her head back. "Don't bite me either."
Kate worked her hand between her neck and Dean's arm. She bypassed her shoulder and managed to slip his arms. With the space she made with her arm, she turned into him, hitting him in the solar plex, and escaped the hold.
Caleb blinked. "Did you dislocate your arm?"
Kate grinned. "Nope."
"She is like a jellyfish." Dean said.
"I could probably dislocate my arm." Kate said.
Dean snapped his fingers. "No!"
Kate let go of her arm. "Fine."
"Then you have a lame arm." John said. "The only time you should even think like that is if you are in wrist restraints. You can dislocate your thumb to slip the cuffs."
Kate folded her thumb over her palm. "I don't have to."
Dean took her hand. "How have I never noticed that before."
"I can't give you all my secrets in case you made good on one of those threats to handcuff me." Kate said.
Caleb snorted. "In what context?"
"She doesn't listen. I may have suggested that I'd restrain her if need be. I guess now I know that would take a straight jacket." Dean said.
Taylor was laying on a bench. "She'd just chew her way out."
Kate grabbed the underside of the bench and flipped it.
Taylor hit the floor. "Why aren't those bolted down?"
Kate turned it back over. "So someone could flip annoying people over." She helped Taylor up. "So, suds?"
John shook his head. "I am going to the library and I'm going to enjoy a drink. If one of you knocks yourself out, you're on your own."
"Just write that down in a parenting book." Kate said.
John waved her off.
Dean walked down the halls and found one with nothing in it. "Kate, go get a broom and dustpan. Taylor, we need to seal off the doors so the water doesn't get out of the hallway. Caleb, you're with me." He grabbed dish soap from the kitchen and filled a bucket with water. He also grabbed a bottle of pills from the infirmary and handed Caleb a couple.
"What are these for?"
Dean popped his own dose in his mouth and swallowed. "Tomorrow morning when it catches up to us."
Caleb snorted. "I'm not that old."
Dean put a hand on his shoulder and squeezed. "Yeah, buddy, we are."
