Caleb pulled the truck in front of April's apartment. "You are going to help me unload this stuff right?"
Dean opened the tailgate. "Yes. What we don't get moved, Taylor and Kate can help with after school." John had called on their way back to Sioux Falls and needed Dean to meet him somewhere.
April propped the door open and scooted boxes into the house as the guys brought them to the door.
Caleb carried a heavy box inside and put it down. Ian was in a playpen and fussing to get out. "She's imprisoned you, buddy?" Caleb said. He handed Ian the keys to the truck. He patted him on the head and went back to unloading boxes.
April smiled. "If he wasn't 'imprisoned he'd be out the door."
"We needed one of those for Sam." Dean said. "Of course now I find out about it."
"Jody gave it to me. Ian usually doesn't mind it but he thinks he is missing out on something." She filled a cup with snacks and put it next to Ian. "That should distract him."
Unloading the truck was much quicker than packing up the house. Dean brought the bags of clothes into the house and left.
April felt a little awkward with Caleb in the house. He was kind but she didn't know him as well as the others. She appreciated the help though.
Caleb felt the awkwardness too. "Uh, I can help unpack these."
"Are those clothes?"
"Yeah, Cody's mom sent them." Caleb said.
April sat down on the floor to sort through clothes. "We don't have a washer or dryer yet."
"If you gather up some clothes, I can take them by Bobby's house this afternoon." He slid a box to her.
April opened the box and held her breath. "Boots?"
"Yeah, the other ones were worn out." Caleb said. He blushed a little.
April didn't know what to say. "You guys didn't need to do that."
"It is nothing." Caleb said. "Everyone here has a pair of boots."
April wondered if Caleb or Dean decided to get new boots. "Thank you."
Caleb smiled. He unboxed a few dishes and put them in the dishwasher. He saw a few more in the sink and put them in as well.
April let Ian out of the playpen and looked through clothes. She had always made sure that the boys had what they needed but the number of clothes made her emotional. Andy would have two heavy winter coats and plenty of pants and shirts. When they moved into the rundown house, she felt like she was failing. Then, the ghost showed up. She would have never thought that searching for help with a ghost would end with her in a decent apartment with more than they needed.
Caleb brought a few empty boxes back into the living room He turned two on their sides for Ian. "What time does Andy get out of school?"
April looked at the clock. "Oh no!" She grabbed the new boots and looked around for her jacket.
Caleb tossed it to her.
April went to grab Ian. The apartment was warm so he had been wearing a onesie all day. In the mess of boxes, she wasn't sure where his pants were.
Caleb could see her panic. "You can leave him. You'll be right back."
April bit her lip. Could she trust him? She fidgeted. The school wouldn't let Caleb pick Andy up, even if Kate and Taylor were with him. "Okay. I'm sorry. I'll be back."
Ian was upset that April left. He walked to the door and mumbled. "Mama."
Caleb opened one of the empty boxes on both ends and made a tunnel with another box. He tossed a toy in and patted the box.
Ian forgot about the door. He crawled into the box and giggled.
Caleb carefully cut a hole in the box and put his hand in. "Boxes are always a hit."
April ran to the school and made it before Andy's teacher walked him back inside. "I'm so sorry."
Andy's teacher simply smiled. "No problem at all. Have a good afternoon, Andy."
Andy waved and grabbed April's hand. "Where is bubba?"
"I was running late so he is at the house with Caleb."
Andy started walking faster. He liked Caleb. "My toys are here?"
"Yep. Hold on, Kate and Taylor are coming too." April said.
Kate was tired. She wished that visions allowed you to rest the way that dreams did. Azazel was gone, Naomi wasn't an issue and yet she was still overwhelmed with visions. What was she supposed to fix? Why was she supposed to fix it? Why did so many things revolve around her?
April saw that Kate looked worn out. "Are you feeling okay?"
"Yes. I am just tired." Kate said. She rubbed her face and took a drink from her water bottle. "Where is Ian?"
"Caleb is at the house with him." April said. "I was running late and couldn't find pants for him."
Kate smiled slightly. "He is good with kids. He will absolutely feed them candy behind your back though."
April got to the front door and could already hear Ian screaming. She opened the door and smiled.
Caleb was sitting on the floor with his back to Ian. Ian would run from the boxes and try to sneak up on Caleb, only to have Caleb turn around quickly. Ian's giggle made everyone smile.
"You made a box fort?" Andy asked. He threw his backpack down and dove into the boxes.
Caleb stood up and cracked his back. "Ah, Taylor, I need help moving a bedframe."
Kate left April to sort through things and carried a box of Andy's toys to his room. "Look at you."
Caleb waved her off.
"I didn't know you were a baby guy." Kate teased.
"Don't make me call Dean." Caleb said jokingly.
"Oh, he would tease you so much more than I am." Kate said. She opened the box and started putting toys away.
"He told you about getting his memory back, didn't he?" Caleb asked.
Kate huffed. "No!"
"Yeah, when we were at the house, he got a call from Lacy and he started remembering things." Caleb said.
Kate grinned. "Well, it was nice knowing him but we will never see him again."
Taylor held a board up as Caleb screwed it to a post. "You are the odd man out. Sam and Dean both have girls."
Caleb groaned. "Will you two hush. How was school?"
Taylor said his day was good.
Kate yawned. "Good. I can't focus though."
Caleb mumbled around the screw he held between his teeth. "Why's that?"
"I keep having visions and zoning out." Kate said.
"She draws sometimes when she has visions. Usually, the drawings look like something but the ones from today are just shading." Taylor said.
"What are the visions about?"
"I don't know. They are confusing. I keep hearing 'fix this' or having visions and someone says that. What am I supposed to fix?" Kate said.
"I don't know much about visions." Caleb said.
Kate got her notebook out and slid it to Caleb.
"Kid, you can draw." Caleb said. He flipped through pages. He saw the pages that Taylor described as being just shading. "Maybe it is a pit and that is a beam of light?"
Kate shrugged.
Caleb furrowed his brows and flipped back and forth through the pages. "Can you give me details about those visions?"
"The clear one was me being in a forest and a lot of creatures were around me. There was a vampire on the ground that had gotten hurt and he told me to 'fix this' before I killed him."
Caleb ripped the pages from the book.
"Hey!"
He arranged them end to end in two rows. "Well, I'll be damned."
Kate looked at it. "What is it?"
"Dean and I went to take out a nest of vampires. Things were weird. The woman had a bite mark just like this and she was sick. We saw some other vampires with the same bite and they were sick too. There is some kind of creature hunting vampires. It ripped up a car too. I think it may be what we saw in that basement but I don't know. The whole thing sends a shiver up my spine." Caleb said.
"What happened to the vampires?" Taylor asked.
"The ones that we saw last, we let go. The woman was dying. There were two human kids that were unharmed. They got their blood through donations. They protect the town and a few people provide meals." Caleb said.
"Oh, John isn't going to like that." Kate said.
"I'm leaving that conversation to Dean. We were hoping that the brother vampire would be able to get a clear view of the thing. It is so fast that it snuck up on a vamp." Caleb said.
"Why didn't you get sick if it was the thing that attacked you?" Taylor asked.
Kate rolled her eyes. "He was too hurt to get sick. Then, we healed him."
"It didn't bite me, I don't think. It cut me with those talons." Caleb said.
"Well, if it is the same thing, did it get out of the house?" Kate asked.
"That is the thing. I think it is more than one of them. Jo overheard some hunters talking about something that could be the same thing. If it is, that is a few hundred miles from Kansas."
"So if this is all connected, how the hell am I supposed to fix it?" Kate asked.
"Maybe somehow make it to where they don't get so sick." Taylor said.
"Why would I cure a vampire?" Kate asked.
Andy skipped into the room. "Vampires?"
"Listening in on conversations?" Caleb asked.
Andy sat down on the floor. "Nope. I wanted to play with my toys."
Caleb ruffled his hair. He got switched sides of the bed and started to put screws into the other leg.
Andy perked up. "Can I do that?"
Caleb shrugged. "You can try." He showed him how to hold the screwdriver and which way to turn the screws. "Look at that, you guys didn't even need my help."
Andy managed the rest of the screws and was beaming. "Mama!"
April went to Andy's room. "What is it?"
Andy held up the screwdriver. "I put together my bed!"
She smiled. "Good job. It looks good."
Kate left Andy's room to call Dean. "Hey, I have something to run by you."
Dean turned the music off. "Go for it."
"I keep having visions. I mindlessly drew some circles. Caleb put the pages together and it looks like a bite wound. He told us about the vampires." Kate said.
"What happened in the visions?"
"Well, some weird creatures were there. One of them I was running through the woods and found a vampire on the ground. He told me to 'fix this'. I had no idea what that meant but what if I am supposed to fix this creature?" Kate asked.
Dean sighed. "You need to focus on school and friends. Not everything is your responsibility." Dean said.
"Right, so the visions are just for fun then." Kate grumbled.
"Those things nearly killed me and Caleb both. They can take down a vamp and shred a car. This isn't your fight." Dean said.
"What if I am supposed to just fix the sick vampires?" Kate asked.
"Vamps are vamp. It is sad for that one family but most vampires would do alright dying." Dean said.
Kate rolled her eyes. "Visions happen for a reason, Dean. Cas could get a sample from the creature he trapped."
"And do what?" Dean asked.
"Well, study it. It sounds like more of them are popping up. Even if I can't help the vampires, more hunters will be running into the things." Kate said.
Dean groaned. She had a point "Talk to Cas. You are not to go see the creature. You are not to use your blood for anything and you have to listen to Caleb."
Kate frowned. "What if my blood is the cure?"
"Then you will wait to find that out until I get back." Dean said.
"It is science." Kate whined.
Dean cleared his throat. "Why were you banned from using your blood?"
Kate blushed. "I went overboard."
"Yep. I am going to message Caleb and Taylor. If you try anything I will know about it." Dean said.
"Ugh, fine." Kate said. "Be safe out there."
Dean smiled. "I always try."

Adams and Ross left the Roadhouse against Ellen's advice. They had worked together for years and were confident that they'd be able to handle whatever was thrown at them. Ellen did make them stop to think. They doubled up on weapons and brought the gear needed to tortch whatever ran at them.
Adams looked at a map. "He was working this area last I talked to him."
Ross followed him into the woods. They hiked for a few miles before finding a campsite. The site had been there for a while. The tents were shredded and the food in the cooler was molded. "Looks like a wendigo to me."
Adams studied the tents and the rest of the damage. "Good thing we have fire."
Ross looked up at the sun. "I don't plan on sleeping out here."
Adams agreed. "We can try to find a trail and then head back."
They heard flies and followed the buzzing. A deer carcass was wedged into a tree branch. It was picked clean and looked recent. To their knowledge, wendigos didn't eat deer.
"I'd say the thing could be hungry enough to eat Bambi but that campsite says they had a full meal not too long ago." Ross said.
"Could be a cougar." Adams said.
The woods were quiet. Somewhere in the distance, a river flowed. It was winter so most of the birds had flown south. They saw a piece of fabric and checked it out.
"He went this way. He ties red cloth around trees so he doesn't get lost." Adams said.
Ross felt like they were being watched. He raised his rifle and walked behind Adams.
"There is another one up there." Adams said.
They walked ahead until they got to a second tree.
Ross turned around. He looked into the trees and then back down the path.
Adams folded the map and marked off two spots. "There is a cave system up ahead."
Ross was having second thoughts. He had faced all kinds of supernatural creatures but something was wrong.
Adams crouched down. "This rock looks like someone took a swing at it."
Ross scanned the area. He blinked. "Adams, where is the red ribbon?"
Adams stood up. "Right there."
Ross shook his head. "I know where it was. Where is it now?"
Adams looked down the path. The tree that had been marked was now ribbonless. "I.. I don't know."
"Maybe we should come back up here with backup," Ross said.
Adams turned around again. "We just got here."
"Something ain't adding up." Ross said.
"Stay with me. We will go back before it gets dark."
Ross was on high alert. He made a mental note of land markers in case another ribbon went missing. He was not going to be caught in those woods at night.
An hour later, no other signs had been found. Adams used binoculars to look for more ribbons. "That site had at least four campers. How do they disappear and not leave behind a shoe or something?"
Ross heard a soft whisper and whirled around. "What was that?"
Adams looked at him. "What?"
"I heard someone." Ross said. He whirled the other way.
"Ross, stop. You are going to blow my head off with that thing." Adams said.
Ross stumbled back. "No, I heard something."
"I don't hear anything." Adams said. He listened but heard nothing.
Ross stopped moving. He focused on the whispers. "They say run. I'm gone. I'm not staying out here."
Adams grabbed him. "Wendigos can mimic voices. Us splitting up is going to get us both killed." He messaged Ellen to give her an update since she demanded it.
Ellen got the message. She had their coordinates and basic information. It meant they were still alive.
Dean got curious about the hunters so he called Ellen. "Hey, Ellen."
"Hey, Dean. How are the kids?" Ellen asked.
"Ornery. Kate keeps having visions about the mysterious creatures." Dean said. He stopped to get gas.
"I just got a message from Adams. He and Ross went to search for their buddy."
"How'd you know that is what I called about?" Dean asked with a smirk.
Ellen chuckled. "You only call when you need something."
"You know, Bobby accuses me of the same thing." Dean said. "I'll tell the kids to call."

April put a pizza in the oven and got Ian to nap. She mopped the floor and then went to check on how things were going with unpacking. She stood in Andy's doorway and smiled. "If he is in your way, just tell him to scoot."
Caleb looked up. "I am making him do all the work."
Andy was the designated screwdriver user. "I can build all kinds of stuff!"
"Do you have any homework?" April asked.
Andy sighed. "Two worksheets."
"You should come to the kitchen to do those. Dinner will be ready in a little bit." April said.
"But mom." Andy whined.
Caleb nudged him. "Listen to your mom, bud. I promise not to use the tools without your assistance."
Andy handed Caleb the screwdriver. "Promise?"
"Yep. I'll put this right here on your bed." Caleb said.
Taylor hung Andy's clothes on hangers. "Looks good on you."
Caleb looked at him. "What?"
Taylor nodded his head toward the door. "You are good with him."
"Oh, nah." Caleb said.
"Ian too. I'm just saying." Taylor said. He held his hands up in defense and shrugged.
Caleb broke down the empty boxes. He had been thinking a lot about his next twenty years and the only thing he knew for sure was that he didn't want to meet his maker at the hands of whatever the hell tried to take him the first time.
Kate flopped down on Andy's bed. "I prayed to Cas."
"What for?" Taylor asked.
"I want a sample from the creature. I want to see what it does to stuff. Like, does it react like rattlesnake venom?" Kate asked.
Caleb shifted.
"I want to see what my blood does to it but Dean has very clearly banned me from such things." She sighed and tilted her head toward Caleb. "I will need you to casually tell him we used my blood because I told you that he said it was okay and you let me."
Caleb smiled. "Playing a dangerous game there."
Kate sat up. "Yeah but a prank is a prank. I won't use my blood but that doesn't mean I can't rile him up."
Caleb shook his head and chuckled. "Taylor, you may be the only one of the bunch with some sense."
Kate dosed off on Andy's bed so Taylor and Caleb let her nap. Her eyes were swollen and creased.
"Looks like most of the stuff is put away."
April looked at Caleb. "Did you do the dishes?"
Caleb blushed. "I, uh... I just turned the dishwasher on."
"Thank you," April said.
Taylor nudged Caleb. He grunted when Caleb elbowed him in the chest. "Touchy."
Andy finished his worksheet. "Easy peasy."
Taylor looked at it. "You are really smart. That time off from school didn't bother you at all."

Dean met up with John and mentioned the conversation with Kate. "Caleb and I are almost certain that they are all the same type of creature."
"Why would they all of a sudden pop up?" John asked.
"I was thinking a little about it. The ghosts seemed to be working with the things but maybe it was just a case of two creatures in the same place. It was weird though." Dean said.
"I have been tracking some of the details. There may have been sightings all over the country. The stories are hazy. It looks like no one has seen one up close and lived to tell anyone about it." John said.
"Except us." Dean said.
"If it is the same thing. I have been back to look at the thing Cas has in a cage. It has me stumped." John admitted. Even in a cage, it was difficult to get a good look at the creature. It moved fast and was more aggressive than any other creature he had encountered. Most of the time, a caged animal would take a break. Even with no one in the room, the creature hit the bars and screeched at all hours.

The Roadhouse phone rang. "Jo, can you answer that?" Ellen asked as her hands were busy washing plates.
Jo pulled the phone from the receiver. "Roadhouse, Jo speaking, how may I help you?"
"Maybe 5 foot tall, hairless, green eyes."
Jo furrowed her brows. "What?"
Ross swallowed hard. A creature had darted from the shadows and grabbed Adams so quickly that neither man had a chance to react. He had backed his way into a crevice. "Guns don't work. Fire don't work. Nothing works."
Jo paled. "Hello?" She heard a scream and then crunching before the phone went dead.
Ellen walked from the kitchen and saw Jo. "Jo?"
Jo dropped the phone and ran to Ellen.
"Jo, honey what happened?" Ellen asked.
"Someone called and gave me a description then I think it got him." Jo said.
Ellen tried to call the number back but it didn't work. "Who was it? What did he say?"
Jo repeated exactly what Ross told her.
Ellen knew it had to be Ross or Adams. "Damn it." She called Dean.
Dean answered. "Ellen?"
"Those two hunters we were talking about, I think it got them." Ellen said.
Dean put his phone on speaker. "How?"
"One of them called the Roadhouse. Jo answered. He said it was 5 feet tall, hairless, had green eyes, and fire and guns didn't work. That was before Jo heard it grab him." Ellen said.
Dean's heart sank. "That is all he said?"
John knew that the creature in the cage matched that description. "Has to be the same thing."
Dean gripped the steering wheel. He had set the house on fire and ran. He didn't finish the job. What if that is how the creatures spread?
John talked to Ellen briefly before hanging up. "Dean?"
Dean shook his head.
"Those aren't the same ones from the house."
Dean hit the steering wheel. "How do you know that? He said fire doesn't work."
"Castiel checked the place and got the one that was alive." John said.
"When we were on that wendigo hunt and saw the short wendigo, we burned it." Dean said.
John rubbed his face. They had watched it burn. "Maybe they didn't hit it with enough fire."
"I'm with Kate. We need to figure out how they work." Dean said.
### ###
Kate was back in the forest. She had been so many times that she knew which way to run. The creatures were after her but wouldn't get close to her. She stopped running and turned around. Green eyes flickered in the trees. She heard the vampire's scream and walked backward toward the sound. "How am I supposed to fix this?"
The vamp reached for her shoe as he always did. "Fix this."
Kate crouched beside him instead of taking his head off. Maybe something else was supposed to happen. "Why me?"
The man was breathing heavily. "Fix this."
Kate covered his eyes once he stopped breathing. She looked around the area for any clues she could find. The cabin she found was small and had a hole in the ceiling. It hadn't been lived in for a while. Maybe the vampire was hiding out there. She heard movement and looked outside. The man was on his knees. She stepped outside to speak to him. "Are you okay now?" She swallowed hard and quickly stepped back into the cabin. She slammed the door and stumbled back as claws shredded the wood. The door broke and caused her to fall to the ground. Green eyes flickered above hers for a moment before everything went black.
Kate woke up to Taylor shaking her. "Call them."
Caleb sat beside her. "Did you have a vision?"
Kate rolled to her knees. "Call them." Her voice was hoarse.
"Call who?" Caleb asked.
Kate looked around the room to remind herself that she was safe. "The vampire family. Call them!"
Caleb dialed the number and put the phone on speaker.
Matt answered. "Hello?"
"Hey, this is Caleb." Caleb said.
Kate swallowed although her mouth was dry. "Is your sister still alive?"
Matt furrowed his brows. "Excuse me?"
"Uh, Dean's sister has abilities. She just woke up from some kind of vision and said to call you so I did." Caleb said.
Matt told Brandon and Alana to pick up their toys. "She is barely holding on."
Kate used her shirt to wipe sweat from her face. "Get the kids and go."
Caleb put the phone on his chest. "What is going on?"
Kate shivered. "She is going to turn into one of those things."
Caleb flipped the phone back over. "She thinks there is a chance that Mary may turn."
Matt froze. "What?"
"I had a vision that there was a vampire that needed my help. He passed away in front of me and then a few minutes later he turned into one of those creatures." Kate explained.
Matt started to panic. He didn't see Alana. He ran up the stairs and saw her sitting beside Mary's bed. "Alana, come here."
Alana had tears in her eyes.
Matt grabbed her and ran down the stairs. "Go to the car!"
Brandon grabbed Alana's hand and ran with her to the car. He slammed the car door and looked back at the house. He saw his mom in the window and thought for a moment that she would be okay. Her head turned slowly and locked eyes with him but those weren't his mom's eyes.
Matt ran from the house and quickly started the car. He gunned it away from the house, looking back for a split second to see green eyes in the bedroom window. He was breathing heavily and forgot about the phone.
"Matt?" Caleb asked.
Matt put the phone to his ear. "How did she know?"
"I have psychic abilities." Kate said.
Alana and Brandon were both crying although Brandon was hiding it.
"What do I do?" Matt asked.
Kate found her voice. "Head to South Dakota."
Caleb shook his head. "Kate."
"If we are going to figure out what the thing is, we might as well have a vampire that would be willing to donate samples." Kate said.
"What about John?" Taylor asked.
Kate bit her lip. "Just, drive."
Matt had no plans to stop. He knew the creatures traveled. Mary was the sweetest person, even after she was turned into a vampire. She was the reason that they never went after humans. Her heart was pure.
Caleb cleared his throat. "Drive as far as you can. I am going to talk to Dean and his dad."
Matt agreed and then put the phone down. "We will figure out what is going on."
Brandon nodded. "Okay."
Alana hid her face in Brandon's shirt. She hadn't even gotten a jacket or her blanket. Why were they running? "I want mom."
Matt grimaced. "I know. We will go back when it is safe. The thing that bit her may have changed her." Honesty would keep them safe.
Cas stopped by April's house. "When you pray, it would be helpful if you told me where it was you wanted me to go."
Kate hugged him. "I'm sorry. I forgot."
Cas was stiff but had gotten used to Kate's hugs. "How do you intend to look at this... sample?"
"Good question." Kate said.
"Couldn't you just angel up some lab equipment?" Caleb asked.
Cas looked at him.
Caleb cringed. "Nevermind."
"Bobby has a buddy that works at the lab here." Kate said. "We could see if he would help."
Caleb pulled his phone out. "I'll call him."
Andy wasn't sure why everyone was away from the table. Pizza was awesome. He carried a slice to Caleb.
Caleb thanked him for the slice. "I'll be in there in just a minute."
Andy shrugged and went back to his plate.
April asked Kate what was going on. "Those poor kids."
"I know. Losing your mom is the worst kind of pain." Kate said.
April forgot that Kate's mom had died when she was a baby. "Do you mind if I hug you?"
Kate let April hug her. She took a deep breath and hugged her back.
"Your mom would be really proud of you." April said.
Kate smiled. "Thanks."
Bobby spoke to his buddy. "It is an emergency. You know the kind of work I do. I wouldn't be calling you at this time if it wasn't important. I'll owe you one." He grabbed his wallet and keys and headed to April's house. "Cas, if you can get your hands on that thing, my buddy is going to open the lab tonight."
Kate got excited. "Using an actual lab is so much cooler than the stuff at the bunker."
"Don't get your cart ahead of your horse." Bobby said.
Kate hugged him. "Don't squash my excitement."
Bobby patted her back. "How are you all settling in here?"
April moved so he could walk farther into the apartment. "The moving crew here is the best I've worked with."
Andy had a mouth full of pizza. "I put together my bed."
Caleb translated. "He put together his bed. He is an expert screwdriver user."
Bobby chuckled. "I'll have to put you to work at my house."
Dean called to get an update. "What is the plan?"
"Cas is getting a sample. My buddy is going to let us look at it at the lab tonight. When are you and John headed back?" Bobby asked.
John spoke up. "Dean can head back that way tomorrow morning."
Dean knew he could make it back to Sioux Falls but it was later in the day and he wasn't sure if John needed him. "Keep us in the loop."
"Will do." Bobby said.

Matt drove until his gas light came on. He got both kids out of the car and hurried them into the gas station. "Use the bathroom. Grab whatever you want to eat."
Alana held Brandon's hand. "Anything?"
"Yep. Candy, chips, I don't care. You get what you want." Matt said. He kissed Alana's forehead and sent them to the restrooms. He paid for enough gas to fill the tank and ran outside to fill the car. He needed food too but he'd have to wait. Maybe one of Dean's people would be willing to help. It didn't matter. He wouldn't take from anyone that didn't want to give. He opened the back of the car and his stomach growled. He found a drop of blood on the seat and his mind spiraled. He saw the kids moving around inside the gas station and finished filling the car. He pushed his hunger down and straightened his jacket.
Brandon helped Alana choose something to snack on. He touched her arm. "Hey, what happened to your arm?"
Alana looked at her wrist. "Mommy scratched me."
