The day after the group had taken down the ROOT nins was a training day for the students. Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke were with Kakashi as he trained them on hiding in plain sight. Naruto had gotten rid of the orange jumpsuit for a more traditional nin suit. Black tank top, black pants, and black sandals with his goggles. Sakura had changed from her red dress and shorts to a pink shirt and black pants. Sasuke still wore his trademark black clothes. They were hanging upside down using their chakra. Kakashi walked towards them.
"The first thing for a Shinobi is stealth. To blend into the surroundings and make themselves apart of the crowd. If you can maintain your chakra, you can scout the enemy without them sensing or seeing you. This is more difficult than the other exercises we have been doing. Not only do you have to use your chakra to hold yourself up, but you also have to use it to keep all the blood from rushing to your head." Kakashi said. Sakura was still the best at chakra control but Naruto and Sasuke were catching up. Kakashi then began jumping on the limb, causing it to shake. Sasuke and Naruto fell down as they lost the connection. Sakura followed shortly after.
"Hey, Sensi, why did you do that?" Naruto said huffing.
"As a Shinobi, you must always prepare for the unexpected. You did well today. We will continue this training tomorrow now we..." Kakashi stopped as two figures approached them. Sasuke stared at the thinner of the two. He immediately backed up to his comrades, ready to fight. Kakashi waved his hand to tell them to hold off. The figures approached Kakashi.
"Hello, Kakashi, I hope you are not cross about our last meeting."
"Well, no, considering you were working for Jirayia as a spy. How did you find us, Itachi?" Kakashi said. Itachi smiled.
"I followed the rumors. I left the East because there is nothing left there except scum. Kisame joined me. We heard you came west. So we followed." Itachi said softly. Kakashi spoke then.
"And you came here because..." Kakashi began but a howl caught his attention. It was a howl the group had been trained to react to. Kakashi looked towards the sound.
"If you want to join us,come on. That was Kiba. There is an attack. Let's go " Kakashi said. The group rushed toward the sound. Soon they were eyesight of the others. Kiba was bleeding from his face and arm, Shino's left arm hung helplessly and Hinata was out of breath. Kurenai had engaged two of the attackers in battle as the others attacked the group. Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, and Kakashi jumped in the middle between the others and the attackers. One attacker, dressed in a long grey gown, giggled
"More to kill!!!!!! Master said to kill you all before you killed him.!!!!!!" One said charging Sakura. Sakura smiled and gave the man an uppercut sending him flying. Sasuke pulled out his kunais to fight and Naruto smiled.
"Shadow clone Justus." Naruto said. Soon, at least twenty Narutos were there. The robed men began fighting the clones. Sasuke was blowing fire. The men were still trying to fight though the Narutos. One made it to Sasuke's back, knife out. Itachi reacted quickly, throwing himself on between the attacker and Sasuke, activating his eyes. The man fell unconscious. Sasuke looked around to see this. The brothers then fought together and soon the men were defeated. One grinned.
"Our master will avenge us. We will be avenged." The man hissed. The men then began to melt as though they were made of liquid. Soon, nothing was left but wisps of mists. Kakashi looked at Itachi, the man who was unconscious had woken up. Kakashi advanced on him.
"You are not like the others. They faded away. You're human." Kakashi said. The man was trying to crawl away from the group.
"I am a servant to my master. I'll not betray him." The man said. Kakashi looked at him curiously. The man tried to bite his collar bit was stopped by Itachi.
"Cyanide. To kill yourself to protect the one who sent you. I'm sorry but you can't. We need information." Itachi said. Anko, Tsunade, and Jirayia had joined the group. Anko cracked her knuckles and smiled.
"Let me try a little persuasion." Anko said grinning. The man felt a chill..He was trying to back up but Anko was on him fast. She drugged him into the woods. The man's screams began to fill the air and then he began talking.
"My Master is the Warlord Gui in the northern quarter. He wants to take over the lands that have been freed. He has offered 500000 gold to the ones who bring him the lands!!!!!" The man screamed. The group was quiet as the man's screams died. Anko walked out, no blood on her.
"Anko, you said you were going to use persuasion but you aren't bloody." Kurenai said.
"Dude has a fear of snakes. I called Satu out and he shrieked like a child. And then Satu bit him, he told everything. He is still alive." Anko said. Itachi and Kakashi looked at each other. Tsunade turned to them.
"Kakashi, care to explain why Itachi is here? I thought he was a kill on site nin?" Tsunade said. Kakashi cleared his throat to speak but Jirayia spoke first.
"Tsunade, Itachi was my spy. Ever since the slaughter of the clan, Itachi worked for me " Jirayia said. Sasuke turned to his brother, eyes calm.
"Why did you kill our family?! They trusted you " Sasuke said. Itachi walked over to him.
"Sasuke, I never killed our clan. Danzo ordered it. I was trying to retrieve Shisui's eyes. Danzo had them taken. When I returned, the family was dead." Itachi said.
"I saw you over Mother's body. You were holding the knife that killed her." Sasuke said. Itachi spoke again.
"I found Mother like that. I had placed my hand to remove the knife. She told me to take care of you. Then you saw me. I knew the one responsible would try to kill you too so I made you hate me because..." Itachi said.
"Danzo killed our family? Why?" Sasuke asked.
"I don't know. After I left the village, I sent word to Jirayia and became his spy. I didn't want you hurt." Itachi said, tapping Sasuke on the head. Sasuke looked up at his brother and grabbed him in a bear hug
"I knew it. I knew you couldn't kill all the clan." Sasuke said. Itachi was taken aback but returned the hug.
"So, Danzo killed off the Uchiha? Why? I thought they were getting ready for a coup." Tsunade said.
"A cover story by sensi. As to why Danzo killed the clan I've no idea." Jirayia said.
"Well, let's worry about the Warlord for now. The others will be curious as to what happened." Tsunade said. The group walked away.
"What about the man?" Naruto asked. Kisame looked to the woods.
"Maybe someone should..." Kisame said.
"No need. I gave him his cyanide back." Anko said. The group walked on to their camp. The others were waiting there. Kiba, Hinata, and Shino were sent to rest. Ryska had been waiting for them to return, not wanting to intervene unless she had to. Soon all the group was told everything. Jack was super quiet.
"So this freak killed off your clan? I'm curious as well. To kill off an entire bloodline is madness." Kahani said. Demi spoke.
"It is odd. There has to be a reason. This...thing doesn't do anything for the sake of others." Demi said. Ryska was thinking. If Danzo ordered the entire Uchiha clan killed, he had plans. But...no...he wouldn't!!!! But it would explain a lot of the happenings in the past year. Could Danzo be playing with the bodies of the dead? Ryska thought
"Earth to Ryska." Tsunade said.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I was lost in thought." Ryska said. Itachi immediately remembered the legend of the soul Queen.
"I'm honored to meet you." Itachi said bowing. Ryska smiling.
"No need for that. Call me Ryska." She said. Soon all were introduced. Tenten was interested in Kisame's sword and he loved to brag about it. Itachi was catching up with Sasuke. Naruto had gone off to train with Jirayia. Tsunade was training Sakura and Ino in the medical training. Ryska looked out her thoughts cold. This was concerning. This Gui was said to be a bloody monster. They needed a spy. Suddenly, a figure jumped beside her but she made no move to fight them.
"Hello, Hiei." Ryska said.
"Hmph. Yusuke and the others are at the camp. We heard of the attack. What do you want to do?" Hiei asked. Ryska sighed.
"We need a spy. Someone Gui wouldn't suspect. I have no idea as to who." Ryska said. Hiei smirked.
"I think Yusuke might know of someone and they would probably be overlooked by Gui." Hiei said
"Who?" Ryska asked.
"Well, Yusuke told me a certain person owes him a couple of favors. They would actually be welcomed into Gui's home but I don't know if you could convince them to go." Hiei said.
"Yusuke and Kurama could." Ryska said.
"We could do what?" Yusuke said. Ryska told them what they were thinking.
"Actually, they might. I'm sure one would cause he hates monsters like that." Kurama said. Ryska nodded then grinned at Kurama.
"Don't you have a date with Sakura tonight?" Ryska quipped. Kurama smiled softly.
"Indeed I do. Excuse me." Kurama said. Hiei shook his head
"Hiei, didn't you say Tsunade needed your help with something?" Yusuke said. Hiei glared and left. Yusuke looked at Ryska.
"I know he'll do it but I don't know about him holding his temper." Yusuke said. Ryska nodded.
"Where's Genkai?" Ryska asked..
"Playing Shogi with Shikamaru. I don't know why neither can win or lose." Yusuke said. Ryska looked at the camp. Sure enough, Shika was engaged in a Shogi battle with Genkai. She was amazed at how the young ones had come together so easily. She only hoped that they could have a better life than the one before.
The Free lands
Torune was out of breath. He had been cornered by Hidan and Kakuzu. Hidan had Torune in his ritual. Torune couldn't move or use his bugs. Torune screamed as Hidan gleefully tore his blade through his own flesh .
"Yes, another sacrifice to Jashin!!!!! Hahaha!" Hidan said as he stabbed the heart. Torune's screams became bloody gurgling as he died, his bugs dying with him. Hidan then ended the ritual. Kakuzu walked forward and cut off Torune's head.
"I only need the head. Leave the body for the buzzards." Kakuzu said. Hidan began walking off cheerfully. Kakuzu turned the head in at the bounty office and received the bounty. Kakuzu walked out happy. Pain would be satisfied with this death. He had to back off of his plan for now but needed money. Hidan was still giddy. The bounty office sent the head to Konoha for burial. The Hokage looked at it. Danzo entered the office, his eye on the head.
"Is this the nin you sent?" The Hokage said. Danzo glazed in Torune's head, calm on the outside but furious on the inside.
"Hokage, if this was done by the missing nin..."
"Your nin had a bounty on his head. Did you know?" The Hokage said.
"No. I didn't." Danzo said..The Hokage nodded.
"Take the remains to cremation. Inform his family." The Hokage said. Danzo took the scroll to the lab. No bugs were in Torune's body. Danzo walked to the incinerator and threw Torune's head in. He would have to be careful. Torune was the only one he dated tell anything now a stupid bounty hunter claimed his life. Danzo looked at the Hokage tower. He would have to be super careful around the Hokage now. The plan for him to become Hokage was on hold now. He would wait. He looked at his arm, the "Secret" weapon couldn't be used for another year. Danzo looked at the village, fury in his eye. The Hokage grinned.
"And so the Dominoes begin to fall. I will belittle and demean him as he did you. He took you from me. You were happy and healthy. We were to be married and Danzo sends you as an envoy decoy, knowing you would die. I'll never forgive him. Never." Setsui said, holding the picture. He would make Danzo suffer for years. He would regret those town days he ruined lives. He wanted Hokage so badly but luckily Setsui stepped into the position. He disbanded ROOT, even though Danzo still had the operatives, removed Danzo from the Council, and made him the oversee of all the genin jobs. He was now a work horse although he was going to try to weasel his way into the Council with the Ibara clan. The Ibara clan head was no fool though. Setsui smiled. His plan was working. He enjoyed the way Danzo tried to smooch up to the clan heads only to be given the cold shoulder. As for the two old crones who supported him, they were enjoying "retirement" away from the village. Setsui thought about the "retirement home" they were in. Yes, that was a great play indeed. He smiled as he watched the sun set on another glorious day.
