Jess curled up beside Sam. "This place is boring."

Sam ran his hand down her side. "Boring is good."

Jess looked up at him. "Maybe I want to be out there casting spells and fighting monsters."

Sam playfully swatted her. "No."

Jess rolled onto her stomach. "What makes you think you can boss me around?"

Sam rolled her onto her back. "I'm bigger than you are."

Jess grinned. "Fine. You can only boss me around when it comes to creatures."

Sam kissed her neck. "And witchcraft."

"Maybe I want a coven." Jess said with a smirk. She sucked in a breath of air when his teeth grazed her collar bone. "I should make this kind of comment more often."

Sam kissed her on the mouth. He put a finger on her lips. "Shh."

They woke up some time the next morning and untangled from each other and the sheets.

Sam showered when she did and got dressed. "Hey, Jess."

"Yes?"

"I know you were kidding but I really don't want you to be around that stuff. Knowing about it is one thing but hunting is another." Sam said.

Jess kissed his cheek. "I was teasing you, Sam, and I got the reaction I wanted."

Sam pulled her back to him. "You are bad news."

Jess fell into his lap. "I know."

Taylor second guessed the plan to go to the barn but he used to do things like that without anyone knowing. Craig was gone a lot and his mom just didn't care. The cult had been flushed out. Nate was right. If anything happened, he had abilities. He wasn't due home until Sunday night or Monday afternoon so he wasn't worried about anyone catching him.

Nate finished his breakfast. "We are going to go explore. We will be back later."

Alice stopped him. "Where are you going to go?"

"I don't know. It has been a while since we have been able to just run around." Nate said.

"Take your phone. Dress in layers." Alice said.

Nate rolled his eyes. "Okay, mom."

They left the house and walked up the road. They decided to go through the woods to avoid anyone seeing them. It was a few miles away so it would take a while to get there.

"What have you been up to?" Nate asked.

"Not much. Since we got back, it has been pretty boring. I went on a few hunts." Taylor said.

"No way, what kind?"

Taylor told him about the ghouls. "I smashed one's head with a rock."

Nate cringed. "Gross but so cool."

Taylor liked being able to talk to his friend.

"I can't wait to graduate. My mom is always nagging at me and it gets old." Nate said.

Taylor felt a tinge of guilt. "The nagging does get old." He was well aware that his new family didn't really nag much. They were strict and kept a close eye on things but that was because there were creatures out there. However, walking down to an empty barn wouldn't be that bad. He needed a break from being a nephilian and a chance to just be a kid. He didn't have to worry about Gordon or anyone else.

Nate stomped around in the snow, using his feet to draw a lude drawing.

Taylor snorted. "Real mature."

Nate put the finishing touches on the drawing and ducked into the woods before anyone saw him.

They walked for a half hour and made it to the road. Taylor looked both ways and waited for a gap in traffic to dart across the road.

"This would be easier with bikes." Nate said.

"Yeah if you wanted to slide." Taylor said. "Besides, you can't ride a bike through the woods."

"I'm tired of snow." Nate said.

"Welcome to South Dakota." Taylor said.

"This summer we should ride down to the lake." Nate said.

Taylor liked that idea. They were getting old enough to go longer distances without a guardian. He had been doing that since he was small but it was more socially acceptable for a teenager to be out than a ten year old. He picked up the pace. "I bet I can outrun you now."

Nate snorted. "No, shit. You have super powers."

Kate and the cats took up residence in front of the fireplace.

Dean poured some hot chocolate for Kate and sat down in a chair. "What do you have planned for today?"

"I'm just going to relax unless you need me to do something." Kate said.

"No. I was going to see if Lacy was free." Dean said.

Kate rubbed Millie's back. "I'll be here. You know, I think I'm going to forego relationships and just be an old cat lady."

Dean grinned. "That sounds like an excellent idea."

"Does Caleb need me to babysit? He said he'd talk to April and never messaged me back." Kate said.

"Oh, I'm not sure. Just message him again." Dean said. He turned his attention to his phone and messaged Lacy.

Caleb got Kate's message and stretched. "April, Kate offered to babysit this weekend."

April thought some time without the kids would be nice. She loved them but also wanted a break. "When?"

"I think that is up to us." Caleb said.

Andy liked Kate. "Can we go to the movies?"

"I think Ian is too small to sit through a movie." April said.

Andy huffed in annoyance. "Me and Kate."

"You'd have to talk to her. She is only 11, Andy." April said.

Andy wanted to have fun without Ian. Ian messed up his toys and drooled on things. "Can someone else watch Ian?"

Caleb sighed. "If you both go to Bobby's house, Ian is going to want Bobby to hold him. It is just for a few hours."

Andy changed subjects. "Can I have a cookie?"

"After breakfast." April said.

"The cookie is breakfast." Andy said.

"We are going to have eggs." April said.

"I don't want eggs."

Caleb cleared his throat. "Stop arguing. She told you that you could have one after breakfast."

Andy could usually ask a few times and get April to give in but Caleb made that difficult. "Fine."

April knew that the only reason he dropped the cookie idea was that Caleb was there. If he wasn't, Andy would keep asking over and over until she couldn't take it and gave in. That was mostly her fault. She shouldn't give in. She just got so tired of it at times.

Caleb left the table to call Kate back. "What time works for you?"

"Any time. Bobby has the fire going right now. Do you want me to watch them at your house?"

"Can you handle both of them?" Caleb asked.

"They'll be no problem." Kate said.

Caleb heard Andy's voice raise in pitch and looked toward the kitchen.

"Can I please have a cookie?"

April had her back to him but turned around. "No."

"Please?"

"Andy, I said no." April said.

"But mom, it is one cookie. I can still eat eggs." Andy said.

Caleb was irritated that Andy picked up the arguing as soon as he was out of the room. He was waiting for April to handle it though. He didn't want to swoop in every time and make the problem worse. "I will call or message in a little bit. Andy is in a bad mood."

Kate heard part of Andy's whining and hoped the kid kept his mouth shut. "Okay."

April looked Andy in the eye. "No. If you ask me again, I'm going to spank you."

Andy was indignant. "That isn't fair!"

"Andrew." April warned.

"I'm hungry." Andy whined.

"I know and I am trying to cook the eggs." April said.

"So let me eat a cookie while I wait!"

April grabbed Andy's arm and marched him to his room. She had only given him a few swats but was sick and tired of the backchat.

Andy didn't think she'd follow through on her threat and pulled against her. "No, mama."

"I told you what would happen if you asked me again." April said.

Andy kept pulling. "I didn't ask."

Caleb suddenly understood how his dad had felt when he'd give his mom a hard time.

April managed to get Andy somewhat over her lap and swatted him. "Stop fighting me."

Andy twisted. "I don't want you to spank me."

April swatted him a few more times. "Your behavior is awful."

Andy thought her swats didn't hurt as bad as when he got swats from the guys. He was annoyed and wanted his mom to be like she always was. He managed to slip her grasp and stumbled back, away from her.

"Get back over here." April said.

Andy shook his head. "No."

"Andrew." April seethed.

"You can't do that." Andy said.

"I am your mother and you are acting out. I can very well do that. Now, get over here." April said. She tried to use a stern tone but her naturally soft voice betrayed her.

Andy ran by her and got out of his room and to the front door in seconds. He opened the front door a few inches and then had it ripped from his hand.

April ran into the living room. Sure, Andy could be sour at times but he typically didn't act quite that bad.

Caleb hauled him to the couch and sat down. He held him in front of him. "Stop!"

Andy froze when Caleb raised his voice. He swallowed hard and tried to pull away from him.

Ian was hysterical because of all the drama and because April left his line of sight. He pulled on her shirt and whined to be picked up.

April picked him up to get him to stop crying. She bounced him and got him quiet.

"Did you run from your mom?" Caleb asked.

Andy just stared at him.

Caleb swatted him. "Did you run?"

Andy nodded slowly.

Caleb stood up and walked Andy to the door. "Replace the salt line."

Andy had forgotten the rule about the door and the salt line. He replaced the line with the salt container and put it back down.

"Go to your room."

Andy ran to his room and slammed the door behind him. Why was everything his fault?

April was somewhat shellshocked.

"What happened?" Caleb asked.

April slumped. "He kept asking about the cookie and I told him if he asked me again, I'd spank him. I tried to follow through and he fought me. He got away from me and got to the front door."

Caleb's jaw twitched. He could see April doubting herself and put his arms around her. "You did the right thing."

"I can't control my own kid. He doesn't listen to me and when I have enough and try to discipline him for it, he gets away from me." April said.

"Kids are stronger than people give them credit for. I had a hell of a time getting a screw out of Ian's hand the other day. He shouldn't be fighting you like that but that wasn't on you." Caleb said.

April sighed. "I messed up a long time ago."

"You got him when you were still a kid. You can be strict on your kid and they still be wayward. Just look at what an asshat Dean is."

April smiled a little. "I think he is well adjusted."

Caleb snorted. "Sometimes. Andy got used to bullying you into things. It is going to take him some time to find the boundaries."

"I'm pretty sure me spanking him had no effect," April said.

"Take a wooden spoon to him. I guarantee that will get through to him." Caleb said.

April was uneasy. "He is only 6."

"Almost seven and I didn't say beat him with it. My mom rarely had to give me more than a few swats. One or two got the small messages across." Caleb said.

April leaned her forehead on his chest. "Why is this so much easier for you?"

Caleb chuckled. "It isn't. You have so much on your plate. I came in after you did most of the caretaking he is going to need."

Ian started to fuss.

April sighed. Having a baby while having a six year old was difficult. She couldn't just leave Ian alone while she dealt with Andy. She shut the door for a few moments and he lost his mind. Caleb was in the house so she knew Ian was okay but her time and energy were always split.

"I will deal with Andy. I am not comfortable with him treating you like that." Caleb said.

April looked at her feet.

"When he has his head on straight, he will talk to you about all of it." Caleb said.

April put Ian in his highchair. "What would I do without you?"

Caleb kissed her forehead. He headed to Andy's room and made up his mind about what he was going to do.

Andy was looking out his window when Caleb opened the door.

"You won't make it if you try to jump." Caleb said.

Andy crossed his arms.

Caleb motioned for him to get off of his desk and sit on his bed. He tidied up the salt line and turned back to Andy. "What was that?"

"I'm hungry and my mom doesn't care."

"That is a lie and you know it. She told you to wait. Which, by the way, you aren't getting that cookie today." Caleb said.

Andy shot him a look. "Why?"

Caleb held up his hand to count off infractions. "You kept asking after she told you to stop. You weren't listening to her. You were disrespectful to her. You fought her and you tried to run out the front door."

"I wouldn't have done any of that if she gave me the stupid cookie." Andy said.

Caleb sighed. "Andy, you are in a lot of trouble right now. Having that kind of attitude is going to make it much worse."

Andy looked away from Caleb.

"Why are you treating your mom poorly?" Caleb asked.

Andy didn't answer him.

"Do I need to bust your butt before talking to you?" Caleb asked.

Andy shot off the bed. "No! My mom already did that."

"She barely got the chance with you fighting her." Caleb said.

Andy blurted out a response that stunned even Caleb. He was so frustrated and caught up in his own tantrum that the words he chose didn't register what he said until he saw Caleb's face.

"What did you just say?" Caleb asked.

Andy backed away from him. "Nothing."

Taylor stopped running so that Nate could get a breath. "It is just up ahead."

Nate drank half of his water bottle. "Are you even tired?"

Taylor laughed. "No. I didn't even break a sweat."

"Must be nice."

They walked up to the barn and read the notice on the doors. There was a sign that said that the barn was condemned and should not be opened. The police put the notice up so they could treat the area as a crime scene.

"The door says do not open. The window doesn't say anything." Nate said.

Taylor walked around the side. "That window is too far up." He found a semi-loose board and ripped it off the side of the barn. "Look, a new door."

"Dude, that was awesome."

The inside of the barn was trashed. It was clear that people had been squatting there. There were symbols drawn on the walls and a firepit.

Taylor studied the symbols. "This stuff is real."

"How can you tell?"

"I know a few of the symbols." Taylor said. "These are like an airport landing strip for demons." He said and pointed to a line.

"How does any of that work?" Nate asked.

Taylor shot him a look.

"No, man, I'm not asking how to do it. I'm asking how something like that works. Like, why are demons hurt by special water?"

"I don't know. Why are ghosts hurt by salt? Why are demons hurt by salt? I don't know the science behind it." Taylor said. "I can control them when they smoke out though."

"Is it really like smoke?" Nate asked.

"Yeah. It is black smoke."

"Cool." Nate asked what else Taylor could do. "Can you set stuff on fire?"

Taylor shrugged. "Not that I know of."

Nate piled some trash and straw in the middle of the dirt floor. "Try it."

Taylor focused on the pile. "I don't think I can just create fire."

Nate pulled a lighter from his pocket. He flicked it open. "Can you pul it?"

Taylor pulled the flame from the lighter and helped it grow as it lit the pile on fire. He grinned. "Awesome."

Nate ran around and grabbed a few more things. He stepped back and held his hands out to warm them. "That is handy."

Taylor coughed. The smoke was burning his eyes. He rubbed his eyes and cleared his throat.

Nate looked over at him. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, smoke just burns my eyes." He started coughing again and held his chest. He gagged from the coughing fit and his throat started to swell. He stumbled outside. "Cover that with snow."

Nate grabbed as much snow as he could and dropped it on the fire but it wouldn't burn out.

Taylor got some fresh air and turned around to use his abilities to deprive the fire of the oxygen it needed to burn. The flames died out but the smoke was still thick. The only thing he knew that made him that sick was holy oil.

Nate looked outside. "Shit."

Taylor couldn't run because his lungs were shriveled. He couldn't hear anything over the sound of his heartbeat and he thought his nose might be bleeding. He felt a firm hand on his arm and looked up to see blue and red lights flashing. "Oh, shit."

Caleb snapped his fingers and pointed to the spot in front of him. "Andrew, what did you say?"

Andy chewed his fingers. He shook his head wildly.

"It sounded a whole like you just called your mom dumb." Caleb said.

Andy shook his head.

"Do you want to add lying to this?"

Andy shook his head again. "I didn't mean it."

Caleb pulled him to him and put him over his knee. He gave him a dozen rapid fire swats before pulling his pajama pants to his knees.

Andy shrieked. "No!"

Caleb ignored the protest and continued swatting. The swats were more firm than last time but not hard enough to do any form of damage. He couldn't believe that Andy would say such mean things about April. He paused and put his hand on the back of Andy's leg. "You do not speak about your mom that way. Do you understand me?"

Andy nodded.

"Answer me."

"Yes!" Andy said.

Caleb swatted him. "Try again."

Andy sniffled. "Yes, sir."

"You need to respect her, no matter if I am here or not. I have talked to you about it more than once." Caleb said.

Andy pushed against his leg. "I will."

"That is what you said last time too. This ends now. When she tells you to do something, you better do it. No more mouthing off and giving her a hard time."

Andy wiggled. "Okay, I promise."

"If she has to correct you, you will not fight her. You will take the spanking or time out and you will learn from it."

"Okay!"

Caleb knew the raise in Andy's voice was out of desperation to avoid more swats. His own father would have called him on it but he did have a bit of sympathy. He repositioned him and finished up the rest of the swats.

Andy was a sniffly mess but wrapped his arms around Caleb's neck. "I'm sorry."

Caleb calmed him down. "I know." He rubbed his back. He hated having to be that hard on the kid. "Put your pajamas back on and then we can go talk to your mom."

Andy sniffled. At least the pants were soft and fuzzy.

Caleb held Andy's hand and walked him to the kitchen. "Andy has something he wants to say."

April turned around.

"I'm sorry mom. I was disrespectful to you." Andy said.

April wiped his face. "No more of that, okay?"

Andy nodded.

Caleb chuckled. "You are lucky my dad wasn't here."

Andy looked at him.

"You'll learn faster than I did as a kid. You are smarter than I was." Caleb said.

Andy yawned.

"I think a nap after breakfast would help." April said.

Andy simply nodded. He was happy that Caleb hadn't told her the mean name he called her. She wasn't dumb. She was the best mom and he felt bad that he made her sad.

### ###

Taylor rubbed at his eyes.

"Son, are you high?" The officer asked.

Taylor coughed. "No, sir." He wasn't sure where Nate was and could barely make out that there was a police cruiser in front of him.

Jody had grabbed Nate before he made a run for it and walked over when she heard Taylor's voice. "Taylor?"

Taylor whipped his head around.

"Taylor Harvelle?" Jody asked.

Taylor finally connected the voice to a face. "I can't see."

Jody sent her partner inside to make sure the fire was out. She poured water over Taylor's face and got him away from the smoke.

"I'm not high. I think there was holy oil on some of that stuff."

Jody understood that he couldn't say much else due to the nature of what the smoke did to him. "Let's get you boys down to the station."

Taylor froze. "The station?"

"You boys are trespassing and lit something on fire. We had an alarm on this place in case any more of your brother's crew came back." Jody explained.

Taylor still couldn't see or breathe well.

"There is no need to cuff them. I know their parents." Jody said.

The male officer wasn't sure. "What did you smoke?"

Jody sighed. "He got a face full of smoke and embers."

The male officer nodded and drove back to the station.

Taylor was regaining his ability to see and could see that Nate was a ball of nerves.

"My dad is going to kill me." Nate said.

Taylor chuckled ruefully. "I'm dead too."

Nate tried to fist bump him. "Here is to being ghosts together."

Jody got them some water and let her partner question them for a bit. She wasn't sure if Taylor was hunting or just checking the place out. She called Dean to ask.

"He what?!"

Kate jumped when Dean's voice raised.

"An alarm went off so my partner and I went up to the old barn. Taylor was there with his friend and it is possible that holy oil was on the things they burned."

Dean put Jody on speaker so that Bobby could hear as well. "They were burning stuff?"

"Yes. Was Taylor on a hunt?" Jody asked.

"He better not have been." Bobby spat out.

"We have them here at the station. I told my partner I knew their parents. I'm going to try to keep any formal charges from being pressed."

Dean and Bobby traded looks.

Caleb messaged Kate to tell her that Andy would be staying home for the rest of the day due to the amount of trouble that he landed in.

Kate read the message and responded. She could only hear bits and pieces of the phone call in Bobby's office but it sounded bad.

Dean asked Jody to use the angle that Taylor had been through a lot and was just dealing with anger over David. It was probably partially true but it might get him out of charges. "I will be down there in a few minutes."

Kate leaned over the back of the couch.

"What happened?"

Dean shoved his feet into his boots. "Taylor lost his damn mind."

Kate chewed her cheek. "What did he do?"

"Went down to the cult barn. I don't know everything yet." Dean said.

Kate smirked.

"What is that look for?" Dean asked.

"Caleb said that I didn't need to babysit because Andy also lost his mind and got into trouble." Kate said.

Dean motioned for her to continue.

"I am just saying. Caleb, Bobby and you have been on and on about how we should all be normal kids and not worry about demons or vampires." Kate said.

Dean ruffled her hair. "I told Bobby that would bite him in the ass too."

Bobby grumbled. "I didn't tell anyone to set a barn on fire."

Kate gave Dean a small smile.

"Go ahead and say what you want to say." Dean said.

"Is it weird?" Kate asked.

Dean raised an eyebrow. "What?"

"Me not being the one that went off the deep end." Kate said.

Dean knew she was trying to add humor into the situation to calm him down. "You've been very good and I'm sure Bobby can give you a cat treat if you need it."

Kate scoffed. "I'm not a cat."

Dean zipped his jacket. "You have been good. I appreciate that."

Kate gave him a thumbs up. "Don't be too hard on Taylor."

Dean rolled his eyes. "You just mind your own business."

Kate wandered into Bobby's office. "What are you doing?"

"Reading."

"What are you reading?" Kate asked.

Bobby realized she was anxious. "I'm working my way through these books."

"Can I help?" Kate asked.

"Yes. Just get you a pen and some paper." Bobby said.

Kate carried the book back to the fireplace. She made notes as she scanned the book for the first time. Lore books were fascinating. She wanted to get back to the lab to work with Marty. Most books of lore were written decades and centuries before they got to Bobby's house. She couldn't imagine trying to figure out how to kill a monster back when light bulbs weren't even invented. Technological advances made hunting easier. It was still dangerous though. Maybe she'd be the one to make it easier for hunters to stay safe. They could eradicate species of creatures and people could stop being killed. If everyone had an anti possession bracelet, no one could be possessed. That wasn't feasible though.

Dean got to the police department and parked the car. He reminded himself to remain calm. He gave the receptionist his name and waved at Jody when she appeared.

Jody gave him a sympathetic smile. "The boys are back here."

"Are Nate's parents here yet?" Dean asked.

"No. His dad is on his way." Jody said.

Taylor cringed when Dean walked through the door.

Dean tilted his chin and turned his head from side to side. "How do you feel?"

"My eyes burn but most of the effects are gone." Taylor said.

"You do look like you are high." Dean said.

Taylor looked down at his hands. "I'm not."

"Really? That would explain the lapse in judgment." Dean said.

Taylor sighed. "I'm not high."

Dean sat down in a chair across from Nate and Taylor. He didn't say anything else as they waited for Nate's dad to show up. It was a trick he had learned from John. Silence was uncomfortable.

Nate's dad finally showed up and Nate looked like a white sheet. "Nathaniel."

Nate looked up. "Yes, sir?"

His dad looked to Jody and Dean. "Have they said anything?"

"No one has interrogated them. They just answered some questions." Jody said.

Nate's dad shook his head. "I'm not worried about him speaking without me. I want to know what the hell went through his head."

Nate shrunk into the couch.

Dean had a feeling that Nate wasn't much better off than Taylor was going to be.

After an hour or so, Nate and Taylor were released without charges. Jody had a lot to do with that. It helped that both boys looked incredibly regretful. Had their guardians been flippant about the situation, she wouldn't have been able to convince her partner that they'd learn from the experience.

Nate felt his dad's heavy hand on the back of his neck and gave Taylor a sad look.

Dean eyed Taylor. "Your bag is still at their house isn't it?"

Taylor nodded.

Nate's dad pointed to the car for Nate to get in. "You can follow us and I'll grab the bag."

Taylor couldn't hide the worried look on his face. Nate was his best friend and his dad was really mad.

Dean motioned for Taylor to get into the impala. He sighed. "Had I known they were going out there, I wouldn't have told Taylor he could stay the night."

"Taylor is a good kid. He has never given us any issues." Nate's dad said.

"He is a good kid. I don't think they were trying to destroy the barn. Taylor still holds a lot of anger over what his family did to him." Dean said.

"No, I don't think it was malicious, just stupid." He said. "I am going to deal with Nate once we get home but make sure Taylor knows he is welcome to come back over eventually. Nate is going to be grounded for a while."

Dean nodded. "I'll let him know."

Taylor saw them talking but couldn't tell what was being said. He slid down in the seat and put his hands over his face. Having the police involved made everything worse. He jumped when the impala's door squeaked open.

Dean turned the car on and followed Nate and his dad. He tapped along the wheel. "What is the true story with the fire?"

Taylor shifted in his seat. "Nate asked if I could control fire like I could control the demons."

Dean gave him a side-eyed glance. "Can you?"

Taylor nodded. "I couldn't create fire from nothing but he had a lighter."

"How much does Nate know?" Dean asked.

Taylor sighed. "All of it."

"About you being a nephilian and everything?"

Taylor nodded.

"Taylor, I did stupid stuff as a teenager. Admittedly, if you thought the place was empty, that isn't a sin to end all sins. Were you hoping some of David's people were out there?"

"No. We said that we'd only go in if it was empty." Taylor said.

Dean parked the car and grabbed Taylor's bag from Nate's dad. He got back into the car and drove to Bobby's house. "Is there anything I need to know about?"

"We said mostly everything at the station," Taylor said.

"Aside from the things you couldn't say." Dean said.

"Yes, we weren't trying to burn the barn down. We weren't even trying to destroy things. Nate just wanted to see if I could control fire." Taylor said.

"Did you do a walk around and look for traps or demon signs?" Dean asked.

Taylor's face turned red.

"Really? You knew the place was used for rituals and you didn't think to check for anything before you waltzed in?" Dean asked.

"There were symbols inside that were legit." Taylor said.

"Did you even have a knife on you?" Dean asked.

Taylor grimaced.

"Were you just going to rely on abilities if something happened?" Dean asked.

Taylor groaned. "Pretty much."

"How did you not hear a police car pull up?" Dean asked.

Taylor shrugged. "I was occupied with the holy oil smoke killing me."

Dean shook his head. "I'm not downplaying this. I owe you one hell of an ass kicking but if you are going to do stupid teenager things, don't let the freaking cops catch you."

Taylor furrowed his brows. "So be more sneaky?"

"Oh, we will find out. The cops just don't need to." Dean said. He gave Taylor the thread of companionship to remind him that he did know how the teenage mind worked.

Taylor pressed his head against the dashboard.

"I'm not thrilled, Taylor. When I pulled shit like this, dad was the one that handled it. Even if Bobby did, I'd get it again from him."

Taylor's eyes went wide.

"As this is your first time, I don't think dad is going to crack down on you after I do but dammit if that isn't fair. It is like walking uphill both ways as a kid and then having the next generation come along with a car." Dean said.

Taylor sat back. "Are you jealous that John is calmer now?"

Dean rolled his eyes. "Damn straight." He smirked and squeezed Taylor's shoulder. He was upset about what Taylor did and the fact that the police did get involved. Another part of him understood what went through Taylor's head. He was glad that John was less volatile with the younger ones but that didn't get to pick on the about it.

"You're joking around. That bodes well for me, right?" Taylor said.

Dean raised an eyebrow. "Remember, I can tan your hide and sympathize at the same time."
