Taylor waited for Nate to get to the steps in front of the school before going inside. "It is good to see you are still alive."
Nate groaned. "That is still to be determined."
"How long are you grounded?" Taylor asked.
"A few weeks." Nate said.
Dean hadn't given Taylor a timeline but he understood that he wouldn't be going anywhere anytime soon. "If you're going to talk me into stupid stuff, at least make it something that is worth it."
Nate fist-bumped him. "It will have to be your idea next time."
Kate felt like she was in a good groove with school. She didn't have to think about most of her classes and that gave her time for her mind to try to piece together the mysterious drawings. She vowed to ignore Natasha to avoid bringing attention to herself. She need to blend into the masses and get through sixth grade in one piece. The plan worked for the most part. Natasha was increasingly annoyed that none of her digs were causing Kate to react. That was an added bonus for Kate. She was preoccupied with supernatural things anyway. The longer she focused on the lines, the more frustrated she got.
Her social studies teacher used a projector for that morning's lesson and placed the stack of clear sheets on top of the projector while he passed out worksheets.
Kate's attention was on the wall, where the projector was casting blurred words from the layers of sheets on top of each other.
He went back to the front of the room and removed most of the sheets, leaving one that could be clearly read.
Kate felt pressure behind her left eye and wondered if the lines would mean something if they were viewed in a similar manner. If that was the answer, why did she view it that way? Why couldn't visions be clear?
Natasha singled Kate out during gym again. She tripped Kate while she was running and smirked when she fell.
Kate was glad she was wearing pants because the red marks on her knees faded immediately. 'Be the bigger person.' She decided to hang out near the gym teacher, making it harder for Natasha to trip her. The plan worked and got her to the end of the day where she could go home.
Taylor caught up with Kate. "Natasha is spreading rumors."
Kate sighed. "Great."
"A few people asked me and I told them that we used to go to the same gym and you embarrassed Natasha by kicking her ass and she won't let it go. So, not many people will believe the rumors." Taylor said.
Kate shrugged. "None of that is a lie."
Dean picked them up and could see Kate thinking as she walked. "What is wrong?"
"Natasha." Kate said.
"Is she still pissy?" Dean asked.
"Yeah, and then some." Kate mumbled.
Dean gave her a sad smile. "She's going to get bored eventually."

John stayed true to his word and headed to Sioux Falls after finishing up his hunt. He had gotten a call from another hunter, asking for assistance in an important matter. John agreed to help before he had gotten all of the details.
Lee was a younger hunter that got into the life like many other hunters. Something killed his wife and he was after it. He also had a kid.
John was not expecting to be asked to transport that kid from a rundown motel to Marie's house. However, Bobby had given Lee the information and a solid promise that Marie and Rod were good people.
Lee had ended up on the wrong side of the law and running with a little kid was not going work. After weighing the choices, he decided to accept responsibility for the warrant, although the incident was due to hunting. Turning himself in would look good in the eyes of the law and he'd be able to skirt the charges or serve a few weeks in lock up. He needed somewhere safe for his daughter to go. He couldn't let CPS take her.
John found the motel that Lee had given him directions for. He shut the truck off and knocked on the appropriate door.
Lee opened the door and thanked John for showing up. "I need to know she will be safe."
"They are good people. They ran a foster home until the husband got sick. He's better now. They have background checks. They have just about everything a kid could want." John said.
Lee knelt down to talk to his daughter. "Did you hear that? You will go and have so much fun and then I'll pick you up as soon as possible."
The little girl crossed her arms. "I don't want to go."
"I know but this is what is best." Lee said. He handed John the girl's bag and fastened a boosterseat into the back of John's truck. "I really appreciate this."
John eyed the girl. "It is no problem."
Lee knew how his daughter could be, though. "Krissy, you need to be good. John is going to drive you to the sitter's house. I promise I'm going to pick you up. You are going to have fun."
John looked at the girl in the backseat. If looks could kill, both he and Lee would be dead.
"This folder has all of her information," Lee said.
"How old is she?" John asked.
"She is four," Lee said. He kissed his daughter's cheek and tucked a blanket around her. "I'm so sorry, baby. The police are on their way. You need to go."
John left the motel parking lot as police cars pulled in. He saw Krissy twisting in her seat to get a better view of what was going on. "He isn't in any danger. The police think he did something bad so he is going to talk to them."
Krissy whipped her head around and glared at John before sitting back in her seat with her arms crossed.
John sighed. This was going to be a long drive. The first two hours of the drive weren't that bad. She was exhausted and cried for a little bit before falling asleep. The third hour consisted of hundreds of questions and exclamations that she wanted to go back to her dad. John's nerves were shot. Hour four brought new issues. They stopped so that she could use the restroom and he could get her a snack.
She adamantly told him that she knew how to do everything herself and she didn't need his help.
He gladly let her do just that. He heard the water running and cracked the door. "Are you done?"
To be such a tiny person, Krissy had a glare that would melt someone.
John reminded himself that he was a stranger to her and she was scared. He got her a banana and a pack of gummies that she wanted. He paid for it and walked back to the truck.
Krissy saw her opportunity and took off.
John managed to grab her and haul her, kicking and screaming back to the truck. After forcing her into her car seat and convincing a concerned soccer mom that he wasn't abducting the child, he got back on the road.
Krissy was tired and scared. She wanted her dad and let John know by crying and kicking the back of the seat.
John tried to ignore it but a sharp, "Enough!" calmed her down. He used the moment of silence to call Bobby and let him know that they were stopping by his house first. If he couldn't stop long enough to let her use the bathroom, without her taking off, he wasn't going to make it to Marie's house. Luckily, he had papers that he could wave in front of soccer mom's face, or he'd was certain she would have called the cops. He fumbled around in the glove box of his truck and found a phone that he wasn't using. He turned it on and it had a bit of battery left. He found the games and handed the phone to Krissy.
Krissy was temporarily amused by the games, although she made sure to glare at him if she caught him looking in the mirror.
John pulled into Bobby's driveway and was relieved to see that Dean was already back from picking up the kids. He was far beyond his limit of patience. He parked the truck and got out. He had to put the child lock on the backdoors because Krissy managed to open one of them. He opened her door and reached across her to unbuckle her seatbelt.
Krissy had no idea where she was and really really wanted her dad.
John had a firm grip on her hand when he put her on the ground and shut the door behind them. He felt a sharp pain in his hand and loosened his grip on her hand for a split second. She got away from him and dove under some of Bobby's junked cars. "God dammit." He looked under the cars but she was in a spot that he'd never be able to reach her.
Dean was about to go outside when the front door swung open and a very angry John stomped into the house.
"Kate!"
Kate nearly slid down the stairs. "Yes, sir?"
"She is outside under the cars by my truck. Get her." John ground out.
Kate blinked. "Who?"
"Lee Chamber's kid."
Dean cleared his throat. "What happened?"
"She bit me!" John said.
Kate gasped and got a jacket and shoes on. She got on her stomach in the gravel and looked under the cars. "Hello?"
Krissy heard a girl's voice but stayed quiet.
"It is really cold. You'll freeze under here. Do you want a warm blanket?" Kate asked. She pulled her phone out and texted Taylor, asking him to throw a blanket in the dryer and bring it and a kitten outside.
Taylor showed up a few minutes later with the requested items.
Kate rolled the blanket and shoved it as far back as she could. "There, it is really warm. This is my kitten, Millie, she may come back to sniff you."
Krissy curled into the warm blanket and smiled when a fuzzy kitten touched noses with her.
Kate wasn't sure why the little girl was with John to begin with. She did know that she was scared. "My name is Kate, what is yours?"
Krissy frowned. "Krissy."
"How old are you?" Kate asked. "I'm 11."
Krissy let Millie under the blanket. "4."
"Why are you under the cars, Krissy?" Kate asked.
"I'm scared of the big man." Krissy said.
"Sometimes, he looks scary but he is nice."
"I bited him." Krissy said.
"Yeah, I saw that. Why did you do that?" Kate asked.
"I'm scared. I want my dad. I want to go home." Krissy said and started crying.
Kate inched her way back to Krissy. "You are safe. I don't know where your dad is because I just got home from school. If we go inside, you will be warmer. You can hang out in my room."
Krissy considered it. "I don't want him to take me."
"Where were you going?"
"To a house." Krissy said.
Kate pieced it together. "Oh, Marie's house. It is fun there. They have dogs and horses. They have a swing set that has a slide."
Krissy thought that didn't sound too bad. "I want my dad."
"I know." Kate said. "If you crawl out, you can tell me all about your dad. I can get you warm and you can have some hot chocolate."
Krissy crawled toward Kate. She was still scared but Kate was nice.
Kate helped her from under the cars and wrapped her in the blanket. "I'm going to carry you, is that okay?"
Krissy nodded and held her arms up.
Millie followed them back to the house.
Krissy ducked her head under the blanket when she saw John.
Kate shifted to get a better grip on her. "I'm going to take her upstairs. She is scared."
John nodded.
Kate carefully carried Krissy up the stairs and put her on the bed. She put another blanket around her and patted the bed for Liam. "This is Liam. The gray one is Millie."
Krissy scratched Liam's ears. "He's cute."
"I'm going to step into the hallway. I'm going to tell someone to make some hot chocolate."
Krissy nodded.
Taylor ran up the stairs. "What does she need?"
"Hot chocolate. Probably a snack." Kate said.
Dean had tried his best to keep a straight face as John explained how the drive had gone.
John glared at him.
Dean cracked up. "Come on, dad, she is four."
John smacked the back of his head. "You can finish out the drive to Marie's."
Dean groaned. "I don't think I want to. She sounds like a handful." He made eye contact with John. "But I will gladly do so."
Taylor carried the small cup of hot chocolate up the stairs. He knocked gently and opened the door.
Kate grabbed the cup and helped Krissy take a sip. "There, that is better." She wiped some of the dirt from Krissy's face. "Do you like bubble baths?"
Krissy nodded.
Taylor took that as his cue to run a bath. He rejoined the other guys. "She is dirty so Kate is going to give her a bath. Does she have a bag?"
John pointed toward the door.
"In the truck, got it."
Dean smirked. "She is probably scared. You can be a little... grizzly."
"I know she is scared. I wouldn't have put up with her screaming and kicking the seat had I thought differently."
Dean clapped John on the back. "You've changed."
John shook his head. "She is your problem now." In truth, John wasn't angry at the kid. Her biting him didn't make him happy but she was terrified. He just didn't have the patience to drive for two more hours.
Kate got Krissy cleaned up and into some new clothes. "Do you feel better?"
Krissy nodded.
"Do you want me to go with you when you go to Marie's house? I won't be able to stay because I have school but I could do the drive with you." Kate said.
Krissy nodded again.
Kate dried Krissy's hair. "Much better. We are going to go back downstairs. Don't worry about John."
Krissy held Kate's. She did feel better although she was sleepy.
Dean got a look at Krissy and smirked. "Dad, come on."
John simply glared at him.
Dean jingled his keys. "Looks like you are doing the rest of the trip with me."
Kate squeezed Krissy's hand. "I told her I would go too."
"Suits me." Dean said.
Taylor helped get Krissy's stuff out of John's truck and into Dean's car.
Kate got into the backseat with Krissy and handed her the blanket Lee had given her.
Dean turned the music on, although not as loud as he usually would. He seen a slight wiggle to Krissy's shoulder that told him she liked the beat.
Taylor went back into the house and felt a little awkward. He hadn't spoken to John since the lecture he had gotten from the man.
John motioned for him to have a seat.
Taylor sat down slowly and fidgeted with his fingers.
"Taylor, relax." John said.
Taylor let out a huge breath of air.
"What are you working on in school?" John asked.
Bobby smirked. It was clear that John was trying but he thought he might have met his match with the four year old.
Kate got Krissy to sleep, not long after they left Bobby's house. She put her arm over Krissy's chest to help support her head.
Dean met Kate's eyes in the rearview mirror and smiled.
"Dean?"
"Yeah?" Dean asked.
"I want a little sister." Kate said.
Dean snorted. "No. No way. Nope."
"Why? She's really cute." Kate said.
Dean shook his head. "No more kids."
Kate grinned. "You say that but you never know."
"She bit dad." Dean said.
Kate smirked. "And got away with it."
Dean rolled his eyes. "What was her deal anyway?"
Kate sighed. "I mean, she is little. She was taken away from her dad. I guess her mom died and she saw that."
"Damn, poor kid." Dean said.
Kate was quiet for a little while. "The drawings that are still on your wall, what if they are supposed to be on top of each other?"
Dean furrowed his brows. "Like a line?"
"No. Imagine if the paper was clear and you stacked the papers on top of each other."
Dean nodded. "I'm following."
"I was going to try it out but didn't get the chance." Kate said.
"You are smart. You will figure it out. Where does someone get clear paper?" Dean asked.
"Well, the teacher has them for the projector." Kate said. "Although, I have some of those page protectors in my binder."
"If you need something just let me know." Dean said.
Krissy woke up when she heard dogs barking. She looked out the window and gasped.
"This is Marie and Rod's house. They are Taylor's grandparents. They are very nice. Those are some of the dogs."
Krissy's heartbeat quickened.
"You don't need to be afraid. They made sure their house was safe for hunters and kids. Nothing can get in the house and they have a lot of toys and stuff." Kate said.
Marie met them at the car and introduced herself.
Krissy thought she was like Mary Poppins.
Kate walked Krissy inside and helped her feel comfortable. "I'm just a phone call away."
Krissy took to Marie right away and held onto her hand.
Dean spoke to rod about Krissy's tendency to run and some of the things she had been through. "If she gives you too much trouble, let me know."
Kate was a little sad to leave. She didn't want to leave Krissy when she was scared but Marie was good with kids.
Dean turned the car back on. "Don't look at me like that. You are not getting a sister."
Kate giggled. "Fine."
It was dark by the time that Kate and Dean got back. John had spent some time outside with Taylor, target practicing. He'd need to spend some time with Kate too but splitting them up made that easier.
Kate wanted to work on her idea about the lines but she was tired.
"Get some sleep. You can mess with it tomorrow." Dean said.
Kate yawned. "You are bossy."
Dean poked her side. "I know, so go to bed."
Kate stumbled up the stairs and crashed onto her bed.
John asked Dean how the drive went.
"She slept the whole time." Dean said with a smirk.
John pinched the bridge of his nose.
"Maybe transporting children isn't your thing." Dean said.
"No, it isn't." John said.
Dean cracked open a beer. "If someone did try to kidnap her, I'm fairly certain she could get away."
John nodded. "She is slippery." He held up his hand. "She has fangs too."
"Sam used to bite." Dean said.
John eyed him. "You did too."
Dean scoffed. "No I didn't."
John raised an eyebrow. "Yeah, you did. You did it a few times as a toddler. Then, the last time was when you were five or so. You stayed with an older woman for a few hours so I could take Sam to the doctor."
Dean might have vaguely remembered that.
"She tried to wash your mouth out with soap and you bit her." John said.
Bobby chuckled.
Dean's eyes grew wide. "I don't remember that!"
John's eyes twinkled. "She told me she'd never babysit you again and you mouthed off and said that was fine because the junk she tried to make you eat DID taste like shit."
Dean laughed. "What was she trying to make me eat?"
"Vegetables," John said.
Dean shrugged. "The statement still stands."
"I got ahold of you for the disrespect but she was an old bitty." John said.
Bobby cleared his throat. "Maybe he wasn't quite the hardass you swore he was."
Dean snorted. "I just got lucky that time."

Kate asked her teacher for some blank clear pages the next day. "It is for an art project."
The teacher gave her several and didn't ask any more questions.
Kate brought three of the pages to school with her and worked on tracing the lines onto the new page. She was working on one at lunch with Natasha swiped her hand across it, erasing a large portion of the page. Kate glared at her.
"Oops." Natasha said with a smirk.
Kate was seething. "Leave. Me. Alone."
Natasha made a pouty face, mocking Kate. "Or what?"
Kate slowly sat back down and went back to her drawing.
"That's what I thought." Natasha said.
Kate was twitchy from the anger she felt. The lines were important and Natasha had no idea.
Taylor saw the exchange and sat down beside Kate. "Breathe through it."
Kate rolled her shoulders. "She's asking for it."
"I know." Taylor said. "Just, try to stay calm."
Kate swallowed. "I'm calm."
Taylor wanted to knock Natasha out for Kate but a boy hitting a girl would look bad. He didn't need anything else on his school record. He had gotten some information on Natasha and wasn't sure if it was accurate. She was a bully at her old school too.
Kate finished the pages and put them in her binder so they wouldn't be smudged.
John decided to pick the kids up from school. He was trying his best to put in more effort.
Dean went with him. They stopped by the store to pick up some ammo before going to the school. "The account that Rod gave us for ammo is awesome."
John nodded. He felt bad that he couldn't fund all of the ammo they needed. He pulled up to the school and turned the truck off. They had a little bit to wait so they could discuss some of the logistics of upcoming hunts.
Natasha shoved Kate in the hallway, causing her to stumble. Kate whirled around. "What the hell is your problem?!"
A teacher stepped between them. "Ladies, let's go our separate ways."
Kate was angry that the teacher hadn't said anything all of the times that Natasha had shoved her and messed with her. The one time that Kate said something, the teacher magically noticed.
Ellie was at Kate's side. "Are you okay?"
Kate swallowed. "Yeah, I'm fine."
Ellie stayed right beside Kate. "Who is that girl?"
Kate rolled her eyes. "We went to the same gym."
Ellie was scared of the older girl. She looked mean.
When the bell sounded, kids filed outside to go home.
Kate looked for Dean's car but didn't see it. She felt a hard shove from behind and tumbled down the stairs. She hit the concrete with a thud and held her arm to her chest.
Natasha was at the top of the stairs with a smug look on her face.
Kate got to her feet and gritted her teeth.
Ellie tried to check on her arm but Kate told her to stay back.
Natasha shoved Ellie's chest. "Yeah, stay back."
Kate was done turning the other cheek and swept Natasha's feet out from under her.
Natasha fell and shot off the ground, ready to fight Kate.
Dean's eyes flew open. "Oh, shit."
John got out of the truck with Dean and rushed to the steps. A circle of kids temporarily prevented them from reaching the scuffle.
Kate couldn't move her left arm but she didn't care. She grabbed Natasha's wrist when she punched at her and twisted it, pinning it behind her back. She got her down on the ground and used her legs to pin her.
Natasha got a good punch to the side of Kate's face before she started choking from Kate's elbow being shoved into her windpipe.
Kate held pressure on her neck. She wasn't cutting off her breathing, just making her uncomfortable. "I can kick your ass one-handed, touch me again and I'll end you."
Dean lifted Kate off of Natasha and pulled her back. "Easy kid."
Kate spat some blood on the ground and glared at Natasha.
Natasha scrambled onto her feet. "She choked me."
Ellie stepped forward. "She pushed her down the stairs!"
John looked from Kate to Natasha. He looked around at the other kids. "What happened here?"
A boy shyly spoke up. "Natasha has been mean to Kate. Her back was turned and she did shove her down the stairs."
John looked at Kate who was holding her arm. He looked back to Natasha and grabbed her by the upper arm, dragging her back up the steps and to the nearest teacher.
The teacher had missed most of what had happened and was confused.
"This girl shoved my daughter down those steps."
Natasha coughed. "She choked me."
John slightly pushed her toward the teacher. "I'd like a word with her parents."
The teacher blinked. "Oh, uh. What happened?"
Natasha put on her best victimized face. "I accidentally bumped her and then she choked me."
Ellie touched John's elbow to let him know she was beside him. "That isn't true. You have shoved her several times today and you shoved her all the way down the steps."
Natasha rolled her eyes and pulled the edge of her sweater down to show the red mark that was on her neck.
John snapped his fingers to get the teacher to focus. "I would like a word with her parents."
The teacher licked her lips. "I am going to take her inside. Bring your daughter as well."
Dean was at the bottom of the steps keeping Kate calm. "Can you feel your hand? Can you move your arm?"
Kate couldn't lift her arm very high. "It popped when I hit the ground." She looked up at John with worried eyes.
John helped her up. "We are going to talk."
Kate whimpered.
John furrowed his brows. "No. I mean we are going inside to talk."
Kate tilted her head.
"Did she shove you first?" John asked.
"Yes, sir."
"Then I want to talk to her parents," John said. "I also want to get a look at that arm."
Taylor was inside when the fight happened. He got word from other students and sprinted to the office.
The office door had been locked to keep other kids from coming in.
Taylor didn't know that and ran straight into it.
Kate sat the print his forehead made on the door and giggled.
Dean opened the door. "It was locked."
Taylor rubbed his head. "Yeah, I figured that out."
Kate patted the seat beside her. "Is your head okay?"
Taylor nodded. "What happened? I heard you got thrown down the steps."
Kate rolled her eyes. "Yeah."
Taylor looked from Dean to John. "Where is she?"
"In the other room." John said. "I'm going to speak to the principal and her parents."
Kate gave Taylor a small smile. "I beat her one handed."
Taylor looked at her arm. "How'd you do that?"
Kate smirked. "I'm just that good."
Dean nudged her. "Maybe don't brag about that just yet."
Ellie tapped on the glass to be let into the office. "It is a madhouse out there."
"They just love drama." Kate said. She wiggled her fingers and winced.
John knelt in front of her. He pulled the glove off of her hand and gritted his teeth. Her fingers were blue. "Let's get that jacket off."
Kate slightly shook her head.
John understood that she was afraid it would heal. "Let me worry about that."
Kate let John unzip her jacket and pull it off of her arm.
John used the side of his fist to bang on the principal's door.
The principal stepped out. "Yes?"
"Kate is injured and I want to assess the damage." John said.
The principal lead him back to the nurse's office. "This will give you the privacy you needed."
Dean stayed in the front office with Taylor and Ellie.
The nurse helped John with Kate. "How much do you like this shirt?"
Kate shrugged. "I'm not attached to it."
The nurse cut the sleeve to make it easier for Kate to get her arm out. It was clear that the shoulder was dislocated.
John prodded her arm. "I think your arm is broken here too."
Kate thought so too.
"This is from the steps?"
Kate nodded.
John asked her if she was hurting anywhere else.
Kate motioned to her side.
The nurse looked. "You have some road rash."
Kate asked her for some water and leaned to John. "I think I hit my head too."
John looked at her beanie.
Kate shook her head. " If you take it off and there was an injury but now it is healed, how are we going to explain that?"
John lifted the side of the soft hat and winced. "Your hair is in the way, that isn't healing."
Kate chewed on her fingernails. "Do you think I'll get suspended?"
John wiped hair from her face. "No. You are banged up. Everyone saw what happened." He patted her arm. "I'm going to let Dean sit with you for a little bit. I'm going to have some choice words with the principal."
Taylor and Ellie told the receptionist about some of the stuff that Natasha had done. They told her that Kate didn't fight back until that exact moment.
John opened the principal's door without knocking. "I'd like a word, now."
The principal started to speak but motioned for John to walk in.
Natasha glared at John. "She threatened to kill me."
John ignored the petulant girl. "Kate's shoulder is dislocated. She probably has a broken arm. Her side is covered in scrapes and her head is bleeding. Her mouth is also bleeding. This girl has been tormenting her and she has done nothing but put up with it."
Natasha stood up. "That isn't true."
John glared at her, making her cower. "There are cameras outside the school. I'd like to see the tape."
The principal took a while to get the videos but played them on his office computer. It was clear that Kate had her back to Natasha and Natasha shoved her.
"Are her parents coming?" John asked.
The principal sighed. "They haven't answered our calls."
John nodded. "I'm going to take Kate to the hospital so that they can take care of her arm. They are going to check her head out too. I don't know how bad that head wound is. That," John said and tapped the computer screen as it replayed Kate's trip down the steps. "was not just a push. That could have killed her. Since they aren't here to talk now, they can meet me at the police department." He left the office and slammed the door behind him.
Kate got into the back of John's truck and leaned her head against the window. She was achy. "We can't go to the hospital."
John looked at her. "We need x rays."
Kate frowned. "I just want to go home and nap."
Dean turned and looked at her eyes. "I don't think you should fall asleep."
John turned the truck on. "They have video of what happened."
Kate bit her lip.
"She is twice your size and you destroyed her." John said.
Kate met his eyes in the mirror. "... Thanks?"
John just nodded and continued driving.
Dean was ready to march right back up to the school and backhand Natasha himself. Kate was seriously hurt. She was masking the pain but he knew she was hurting.
John went inside with them and explained what had happened to the triage nurse.
Kate wanted to remain inconspicuous but her arm really hurt. She wondered why it wasn't healing. Her side wasn't even healing.
Dean was sitting on the bed beside Kate when he felt her head grow heavy. "Dad."
John picked Kate's head up and looked in her eyes. "Katie."
Kate heard him and tried to make eye contact with him but she wasn't sure which John was the real John.
John pulled her hat off and yelled for a nurse.
Dean let go of her at John's order. He was worried about her and angry at the same time.
Taylor waited for Kate to be taken for a scan before he spoke. "That's attempted murder... right?"
John rubbed his face.
"You don't shove someone down concrete steps with the intention of tickling them," Taylor said.
John put a hand on each of Taylor's shoulders. "Cool it."
Dean looked over and motioned to his eyes.
Taylor blinked. "Sorry, I'm angry."
John squeezed his shoulder. "We are too. Our eyes just don't glow."
Taylor got a message from Nate and made a face.
"What?" Dean asked.
Taylor held up his phone so they could read the message.
"What does that mean?" Dean asked.
Taylor gave him a sheepish smile. "Some of her blood was on the ground. Ellie said it was because she spit after Natasha hit her in the mouth."
"What does that have to do with Nate?" John asked.
"He washed it away with a bottle of water." Taylor said.
"Why?" Dean asked.
Taylor sighed. "I know I told him more than I was supposed to but yay for silver linings. He didn't want the hunter that was after me to be stalking us and try to do something with the blood."
John furrowed his brows. "Just how much have you told him?"
Taylor avoided John's eyes. "Enough that he has our back."
Dean leaned back in his chair and rubbed his face with a chuckle. "Once again, I would like to point out how easy of a kid I was."
John smiled slightly.
"No one expects an army of child hunters," Taylor said.
John shot him a look.
Taylor's eyes widened. "Not that I am creating an army, I'm just saying they wouldn't expect it."
Dean sat forward. "While we were driving to Marie's, Kate asked for a sister."
John sat forward. "No."
"That kid was cute." Taylor said.
John shook his head. "NO."
"How'd she slip you anyway? She's tiny." Dean said with a chuckle.
John rubbed the back of his neck. "I think I'm going to call Sam to let him know he's my favorite kid right now."
"Kate would be offended," Taylor said.
John smiled. "That is the benefit of her being the only girl. Sam is my favorite son right now."
Kate knew she was unconscious. The knock to her head probably gave her a concussion. She could hear everything the doctors were saying and none of them sounded too freaked out. The lines she had been obsessing over filled her field of vision and made her feel dizzy. She slowed her breathing. "Okay, brain, show me what I'm missing."
The lines started to stack and organize themselves. When they stopped moving, she walked around the figure they created. She could clearly see who it was but she didn't know why she was seeing her. She jumped when the figure moved. "Karen?"
