Bobby's house was filled with laughter and chaos and Karen soaked it up. She ushered the young ones outside when Bobby's brow started to knit too deeply and made sure to keep them fed. She finished altering her dress for April and it warmed her heart.

Dean and the others focused on getting the added room built. They'd worry about making it livable later but first, it just needed to serve as an overflow room.

Caleb had gotten a stack of papers printed out and carefully filled them out.

Andy leaned against the table. "What are those?"

"Adoption papers and stuff like that." Caleb said.

Andy bounced excitedly. "When will we get adopted?"

"After the wedding as far as the paperwork goes. Most things take a whole lot of paperwork." Caleb explained

Andy got a piece of paper and copied down Caleb's last name so he could practice writing it for school.

Caleb ruffled his hair. It made him happy that Andy was so excited to be adopted.

ohn went back to look at the creature twice before making a decision. He pulled Kate to the side and told her that she would be able to help Marty with the brain.

Kate brightened. "As a birthday gift?"

John furrowed his eyebrows. "Well, no. I didn't intend to give you a brain as a gift."

Kate grinned. "Getting to take part in studying something groundbreaking is the best gift ever."

John pinched the bridge of his nose. Kate was definitely the weirdest of the bunch.

On the last Saturday, before the kids went back to school, Karen finished decorating the backyard for a wedding.

Marie and Rod drove down to attend and brought Krissy with them. So Marie helped make food to feed everyone.

Krissy looked up at the simple white streamers and spun in a circle. "It's so pretty."

Rod stopped her before she ran into a chair. He picked her up and let her touch the fairy lights.

The wedding was simple, as April requested. The day was more about hanging out with friends than boring them with endless vows and uncomfortable suits.

Andy was shaking with excitement and Kate may have had to compel him to calm down a little bit. He got to walk April to stand beside Caleb and kissed her on the cheek.

Bobby was the officiant and pronounced them man and wife.

Caleb kissed April and picked her up to hug her. He thought he was the absolute luckiest man in the entire world.

After the small ceremony, the crew spread out to eat and chat.

Krissy was interested in everything and just wanted to check things out. She kept getting pulled away from things and that made her mad.

Andy tried to play with her but she wanted to play with stuff she wasn't supposed to.

Kate gave April and Caleb an intricate wooden sigh with "Fisher family est. March 30, 2002." carved into it.

Caleb knew exactly where it would hang in the new house.

Karen and Marie took turns making sure that Ian was taken care of. He mostly sampled foods and ate a questionable amount of cookies.

Karen carried Ian to Bobby. "Someone is sleepy."

Bobby smiled and let Ian lay on his shoulder. He rubbed his back and within minutes Ian was asleep. He laid him down on his and Karen's bed and left Millie and Liam to watch over him.

Rod gave Caleb an envelope that outlined a share of the farm's profits.

Caleb read it. "This is in our name?"

"Yes, I spoke to Bobby and John before making it official. You've got two growing boys to take care of. This will just be an investment."

April blushed deeply.

Rod knew that she always felt guilty taking things. "Taylor is the only blood grandchild we have that is worth anything. You'll just have to accept us treating the boys like grandkids."

April smiled and hugged him. "Thank you."

Andy and Owen ran outside to play on some of the safer cars and pretended that the ground was lava. Andy jumped a small gap and hit the hood of an old truck.

Owen did the same and dramatically sighed in relief that neither had fallen into the lava pit.

Jody checked on them and gave Krissy some chalk to keep her busy.

Krissy wanted to jump on the cars too.

Andy saw her climbing and told Owen to stop jumping because he didn't want her to fall. He did not want to be responsible if she got hurt.

Kate oversaw the 'sign-in sheet' for the guests. Instead of having a book with signatures, Kate got a canvas and had each person paint their hand and leave a handprint. Then, when it dried they signed their hand. She made a mental note to do that for herself or she could make a binder with each hand on a different page. She scrunched her nose. "Sam, you have baseball mitts for hands."

Sam chuckled. "Have you seen dad's?"

Kate rolled her eyes. John's hand was solid but Sam's was bigger as far as length. She looked up at him and tilted her head. "You got taller."

Karen raised an eyebrow when Kate forced Sam into the kitchen.

"Where is a measuring tape?"

Sam reluctantly let Kate check his height.

"6 feet 4 inches." Kate said.

Sam blinked slowly. Taylor was going to wind up being taller. That amazed him. "Don't tell Dean."

Kate giggled and hugged him.

Andy waved goodbye to Owen when his family left. It was getting a little darker and Ms. Jody said that they had to go to Owen's grandpa's house the next day for Easter. He got a snack from inside and thought about turning on the tv. He flopped down on the couch and chewed the brownie pieces that he had shoved in his mouth. He sat up and looked at Bobby's office. "Krissy."

Krissy found a cool shiny thing in one of the drawers and spun it on the ground.

"Krissy, you can't have that." Andy said and tried to take the ornate knife away from her.

Krissy clasped her hand around it and stuck her tongue out at Andy.

Andy was frustrated from trying to keep her out of trouble all day. He tried to grab the knife again but she pulled it back. "Dad!"

Caleb walked to the office and asked Andy what was wrong.

"She has a knife and won't give it to me." Andy said.

Krissy shrugged. "I don't have a knife."

Andy's mouth dropped open.

Caleb approached her and tried to look at what she was hiding behind her back but she darted by him and ran into the other room.

Rod felt her hit his leg and picked her up. "What is the matter?"

Krissy sniffled. "Andy is being mean."

Andy couldn't believe it. He was just trying to keep her safe and not get her in trouble with Bobby and she was lying.

Rod carried Krissy to the living room so he could hear over the chatter in the kitchen. He put Krissy on her feet and asked her what happened.

Caleb steered Andy to the living room as well.

"He is mean." Krissy said.

Andy looked up at Caleb. He wanted to yell but Caleb said that was rude. He got a nod from Caleb and spoke up. "She was in Bobby's office playing with a knife."

Rod turned Krissy to face him. "Did you have a knife?"

Krissy shook her head.

Andy gave Caleb a pleading look. "I saw her and tried to get it so she didn't get hurt."

Krissy stomped her foot.

"She did have something in her hand when she ran by me." Caleb said.

Rod made Krissy show him her hands and felt her pockets.

Krissy crossed her arms. "See."

Rod pulled Krissy's boot off and found the knife in question. Thankfully it didn't slice her foot. "You did take the knife."

Krissy whined and tried to say that Andy gave it to her.

Caleb told Andy to go hang out somewhere else because he knew Andy hadn't done anything.

Andy got a rootbeer from the refrigerator and stomped into the side room where Dean and the other young people were. He held out the glass bottle to Dean for him to open it. He took a long drink and fell back into a chair like he had seen his dad and the other men do countless times.

Dean grinned. "Rough day?"

Andy sat forward and waved his hand in the general direction of the living room. "That Krissy girl is insane." He flopped back and took another long drink of the root beer. He held it by the neck and dangled his arm over the side of the chair and pinched the bridge of his nose.

Dean couldn't help but grin. Andy had the 'disgruntled after a hard day' act down.

Caleb left Rod with Krissy and checked on Andy.

Dean looked up at Caleb. "He has resorted to drinking."

Caleb saw the rootbeer bottle and laughed. He crouched down in front of Andy.

Andy gasped when he heard Krissy cry and got worried.

Caleb got his attention. "Hey, thank you for getting an adult. You did exactly the right thing."

Andy furrowed his eyebrows. "Why is she crying?"

"She probably got a swat." Caleb said.

Andy took another sip of the rootbeer and bounced his legs. "She is just a little girl."

Caleb nodded. "She will survive one swat. I bet you anything those tears are from having to sit in time out."

Andy relaxed a little. "I tried my best to keep her out of trouble."

"That isn't your job but I appreciate it." Caleb said.

Dean grabbed a beer for Caleb and handed it to him.

Andy held out his bottle to clink it with Calebs and pulled his feet into the chair.

"Since you are spending the night here, do you want to bunk in with the other kids or in Bobby's room with Ian?" Dean asked.

Andy scoffed. "I'm a big kid."

Dean chuckled. "Then you can bunk with the big kids."

A few minutes went by and Krissy reluctantly walked up to Andy. "I'm sorry." She mumbled

Rod cleared his throat.

Krissy rolled her eyes dramatically. "I'm sorry I lied."

Andy forgave her and told her it was okay.

John and Dean traded looks when Krissy and Rod went back to the kitchen.

"If she rolled her eyes any harder they'd fall out of her head." Dean said.

John nodded. "I wish Lee the best of luck."

"When does he get out?" Caleb asked.

"I don't know," John said. "I suppose I could try to give him a call Monday."

Marie gave Krissy something to eat and said that they should probably head over to the hotel. "I think she is ready for bed."

Krissy shook her head. "I'm not ready for bed."

Karen patted her back. "Us old people need to go to bed on time or we have a hard time waking up."

Krissy swung her feet and ate her food. She wasn't an old person.

Caleb and April left for their short honeymoon and the chaos started to die down.

Sam and Jess needed to get back to Stanford so they left right after so that they could get a headstart.

Taylor made popcorn and turned a movie on for Andy.

Jo had really enjoyed staying with them and didn't want to go back home the next morning. She got a phone call and stepped outside to take it. She had been searching for information and had finally gotten it. She'd just need to convince John to stop on the way to Nebraska so that she could meet up with the person that had called her.

John and Jo left the next morning.

Kate was excited about turning twelve and working with Marty. She had so many questions that she wanted answers to.

Dean kept running what Tessa had told him over and over in his head. She would turn twelve on April 4th and that day was uncomfortably close. He called Kate and Taylor into the living room for a family meeting and told Andy that he was needed as well. "Tomorrow is April 1st. As it is a Monday, you will all be at school for part of the day. When you come home, there will be no pranks at my expense."

"Oh, come on." Kate said.

"Nope. I reserve the right to throttle any child that attempts anything." He heard Bobby chuckle from his office. "Or adults."

"You can't prank us either then." Taylor said.

"That is fair. Andy, I am going to need a verbal agreement." Dean said.

Andy shrugged. "I don't even know how to prank you."

Dean nodded. "If any of these guys tell you to do something, you just tell me."

Andy smiled and said he understood.

"So we could prank you today or after the 1st?" Kate asked.

"Only if you want to get beat up." Dean said with a smirk.

### ###

Jo kept an eye on how close they were to where she wanted to go. "Could we get something to eat here?"

John looked at the area on the map. "Why there?"

Jo chewed her cheek. "It is basically halfway."

John eyed her. She had been shifty and he noticed it. "Why there?"

"Nevermind," Jo said.

"If you tell me why you want to stop there I'd be happy to stop." John said.

Jo sighed. "I was just going to pick up something."

"Where?" John asked.

"Oh, if we find a place to eat my friend can stop too and I can just grab the stuff." Jo said.

"What are you wanting to get from this...friend?" John asked.

Jo swallowed hard. "Just some stuff."

"Jo, I'm not an idiot." John said.

Jo groaned. "I have been doing some research and this friend found something to help me finish my research."

John sighed. "Are you trying to hunt?"

Jo's cheeks turned pink.

"Your mother told you no." John said.

"Well I'm almost an adult and I'm not hunting. I'm researching." Jo said.

"I might know a thing or two about what you are researching," John said.

Jo shook her head. "Just never mind."

"I'm going to be honest with you. It sounds like you are attempting something that may be dangerous or at least shady enough that you don't want your mom knowing about it. If we continue on our way, you are going to call that 'friend' and have them meet you. You'll probably choose your school since your mom is always at the roadhouse. I'm going to assume the friend is a hunter that isn't actually your friend and you are a teenage girl thinking about meeting a grown man that you do not know for something that you do not know if it is safe or not." John said.

Jo furrowed her brows. She wasn't a fan of the scolding tone that John was using. "So what?"

"I'd be upset if any of mine were attempting something like that. They each have and it never ended well. We know that there are hunters out there that are suspicious of Taylor. You have to be paranoid enough to not want to meet up with hunters that you do not know." John said.

Jo frowned. "It is just something for protection."

"Is it something that is cursed or magic?" John asked. He saw the set of her jaw and sighed. "I will be going with you to meet this person. You will not leave my sight and you will listen if I tell you it is unsafe."

Jo huffed. "I don't need a babysitter."

"Jo, I will be speaking to Ellen before I leave. I can tell her that we picked up an item or I can tell her that you tried to hide the meet up and the item."

Jo gasped. "No! Don't talk to her."

John shook his head. "That choice has already been made."

Jo sighed and looked out the window. She didn't know how Kate or Tayor snuck anything by the man.

Ian stuck with Bobby and Karen most of the time. He was cranky and likely wanted his mama.

Andy followed Taylor around. He liked fixing things. If a chair got wiggly then he'd know how to fix it. "Can you fix lights and stuff?"

Taylor nodded. "Yep. If I don't know how to do it I can ask someone else or research."

Andy stomped around on some packed dirt. "Can you wiggle this?"

Taylor loosened the dirt in a small area and grabbed Ian from Karen. He gathered a few old cups and spoons so the boys could dig.

When Karen called the kids inside for dinner she couldn't help but grin at the state of the boys. "Oh my goodness. You will need a bath before dinner." She asked Bobby to run some water in the master bathroom and gathered some new clothes. "Taylor, help yourself. Tell Kate and Dean as well."

John stopped the truck outside of a truck stop. He walked with Jo to stand by a sign and kept an eye out for danger.

The man that approached Jo looked bummed that John was with her.

John had never met the man before and was not impressed by his looks and the face he made when they made eye contact.

Jo started to leave John's side but an Iron grip on her forearm stopped her. She waved and introduced herself.

The man had a box in his hand. "I didn't know you would have someone with you."

John narrowed his eyes. "Why would it matter?"

Jo shot John a look. "Uh, is that the box I asked for?"

The man held it up.

John asked what was in it.

"The transaction is between the girl and me." The man said.

"No, I don't think so." John said.

The man started to walk away and Jo grabbed his arm. The man made a move but it was interrupted.

John jerked her back and put his gun under the man's shoulder blade. He pulled a silver coin from his pocket and held it to the man's forehead.

Jo gasped as his skin sizzled.

John shoved the man away as he removed the box from his hands. He kept the gun in view. "Get out of here."

The man ran down the sidewalk and disappeared behind a large building.

Jo was still processing that the man had a reaction to silver.

John grabbed Jo's arm and walked swiftly to the truck. "Get in."

Jo squeaked and got into the truck. "I didn't know."

John drove out of town and got Jo something to eat from a drive-through. "Had I not insisted you stay by me, what do you think he would have done to you?"

Jo blinked. "How was I supposed to know?"

"That is the problem. You don't always know. That is why you do not sneak around and set up deals to meet people at truck stops." John said.

Jo hung her head. "Why would that thing have information a hunter had?"

"He could have been a hunter that got turned or he could be a shifter that took over a hunter's memories." John said.

Jo reached for the box but John grabbed her hand. "I just want to know if it is real."

"You will not open that box. We don't know what is in it. It is dark and you are in a vehicle." John said. "What were you looking for?"

"Just protection." Jo mumbled.

"So you could hunt." John said.

Jo ate a fry. "I'm almost 18."

"You are almost 17." John corrected.

"That is one year off." Jo said.

John dialed Ellen's number and held up the phone.

"Hey, John. How far out are y'all?"

John gave her a rough estimate and cleared his throat. "Jo has something she'd like to share with you."

Jo's mouth fell open. "No, I don't."

Ellen leaned against the bar. "Joanna Beth what did you do?"

Andy didn't last long after dinner. He yawned and didn't protest when he was told to get ready for bed.

Kate read him a story and tucked him in. "Taylor and I will be up in just a little bit."

Andy nodded and rolled over.

Ian was snuggly and didn't want to be put on his mat.

Taylor gave Bobby a smirk. "Are you going to hold him the whole night?"

Bobby gave Taylor a look. "I might."

Dean cracked open a beer and took a seat in the side room. It would be nice during the summer. He leaned his head back and hummed quietly to himself.

Kate rounded up the kittens and poured food into their bowls. They were getting so big and hardly looked like kittens anymore.

Bobby finally got Ian to sleep on his mat and helped Karen tidy up the kitchen.

It was a peaceful night at Bobby's house.

Caleb and April were off enjoying some kid-free time as newlyweds and Sam and Jess had stopped or the night at a hotel.

For Jo, however, her night was less than peaceful. She got quite the lecture from Ellen and was embarrassed to be scolded like a little kid in front of John. She was irritated that he made such a big deal out of everything. Sure, the hunter turned out to be a monster but mistakes were human. She was thankful that it was so late by the time they made it to the roadhouse because Ellen was busy with customers and wouldn't be able to take a break for a while.

John stopped outside the bar. "I know that you are upset with me. You are Taylor's sister and Ellen trusted me to get you there and back safely. What happened is exactly why I wouldn't let you go alone."

Jo sighed. "I know. This wasn't your fault. I made the choices. I guess if I am going to sneak around I should have picked someone else to drive me back."

John snorted.

Jo reluctantly got out of the truck.

John went inside with her and carried her bag.

Ellen wrapped her in a tight hug.

Jo knew the affection was about to turn and braced herself.

"Take your bag and get upstairs. I will be up there in a little bit." Ellen said.

Jo groaned and took her bag from John.

Ellen thanked John for insisting that he oversee the exchange and for keeping her safe. "I swear she is going to be the death of me with this sneaking around."

John nodded. "I've got one or two of those two."

When Kate went to bed, she fell right into a vision.

She was standing outside Hellen's house when it was still standing. The dog barked at her through the window and Hellen opened the door to welcome her in. She debated the safety of following Hellen but decided to follow her for answers. Some things in the house were not the same as they were when she had visited before. She made a note of each thing that seemed out of place.

Hellen poured some tea and offered Kate some.

Kate went to take a sip but an invisible force yanked her out of the house. Everything was white and her eyes stung. She felt around herself but she couldn't feel anything besides the floor. She felt a warmth that she couldn't quite explain. It wasn't warmth like fire. It was the type of warmth that power radiated.

"Don't take drinks from strangers. You might as well learn that now." A voice said.

Kate froze. "Where am I?"

"Consider it a padded room." The voice answered.

Kate sat on the floor and rubbed her eyes. "What? Who are you?" She heard movement and could tell someone was in the room with her but she couldn't see. She could smell something sweet like candy.

"Oh let me just tone this down." The voice said and the light faded.

Kate looked around. She was in a vast white room. There was a man sitting in a chair, leaning back with his ankle propped on his opposite knee. He had a dum dum sucker in his mouth and smirked at her. She rubbed her eyes. Another chair appeared so she sat in it. "Who are you?"

The man smirked again. "What you don't recognize me?"

Kate shook her head.

The man dropped his foot to the ground. "I guess I've never introduced myself. I've just watched from afar."

Kate scrunched her nose. "That isn't pervy at all."

The man laughed. "The wit! This is why you are my favorite."

Kate studied him. "Gabriel."

Gabriel clapped his hands around in a circle. "A round of applause."

"You are an archangel," Kate said.

"Right again kiddo," Gabriel said. He offered her a piece of candy and sat back. "You can't go around calling me that though."

"Why?" Kate asked.

"Oh, Luci and Micheal and the other brothers think I'm dead," Gabriel said.

Kate tilted her head. "Lucifer?"

"Yep." Gabriel said. He snapped his fingers and the walls filled in.

Kate recognized the walls but couldn't place them.

"Young Deans bedroom circa 1982." Gabriel said.

Kate had seen the room in some of Dean's memories. "Why are we here?"

"Why not?" Gabriel asked as he changed the room several times.

"Is this a power show?" Kate asked. "That is such a guy thing."

Gabriel settled on Kate's stream. "Don't mess with Hellen's house."

Kate chewed her lip. "Is she still dangerous?"

"There are traps out there. You shouldn't fall into them." Gabriel said.

"How do I know you are you and not one of those traps?" Kate asked.

Gabriel shrugged. He displayed his wings for a moment and sat back down.

Kate covered her mouth. "I want wings."

Gabriel snapped his fingers again.

Kate felt a tingle down her spine and sharp pain in her shoulder blades. She spun around. "Are those real?"

"Are they real? Yes. Can you fly? No." Gabriel said.

Kate frowned. She asked how to pull the wings back in and practiced a few times. "So they are light?"

"Correct." Gabriel said and opened another piece of candy.

"Will I have them when I wake up?" Kate asked.

Gabriel nodded.

Kate thought for a moment and then grinned evilly. "Dean said we couldn't prank him and this isn't a prank because they are real and he can't strangle me because they are real."

"I do love a good joke." Gabriel said.

Kate's wings were smaller than an angel's wings and they looked fluffier. They were not solid and didn't disturb her shirt. She hugged Gabriel. "Thank you. Wait, why am I here again?"

"Have you started to feel different?" Gabriel asked.

Kate nodded.

"You, my dear, are about to arrive at a very important time in your life." Gabriel said.

Kate chatted with Gabriel for a while but didn't get any groundbreaking information from him about the troubles that would come. "What are the chances that we can chat again?"

Gabriel snapped his fingers and the room was white again. "We will."

Kate sat up in bed and looked at the time. Taylor and Andy were still asleep. It was early but not too early. She felt rested which was odd since she had been in a vision. She went to the bathroom and looked in the mirror. She closed her eyes and felt the tingle in her spine again. She opened her eyes and covered her mouth. It wasn't just a dream. She couldn't wait to see the look on Dean's face. The bathroom had a bit of steam in it so there was a good chance that he was awake. She knocked on his door and bounced excitedly until he opened the door.

Dean wasn't expecting Kate to be awake.

Kate pushed him back into the room and shut the door. "I need to show you something."

Dean sat down on his bed. "Oh no."

Kate felt the tingle again and grinned.

Dean startled. "What the hell?"

"Wings!" Kate hissed so she didn't wake Andy.

Dean spun her around. He waved his hand over her back. "How are you doing that?" He rolled his eyes. "Taylor. I told you two no pranks."

Kate shook her head. "It isn't a prank. It is real. Taylor is asleep."

Dean ruffled her hair. "Good one, kid."

Kate drew the wings back in. "I am serious. This isn't a prank."

Dean narrowed his eyes and studied her.

Bobby handed Dean a cup of coffee when he came downstairs. "Good morning, Katie. You are up early."

Dean nodded. "She and Taylor are already at it this morning."

"Taylor isn't doing anything. I told you it isn't a prank." Kate whined.

Dean snorted and sat down to drink his coffee.

Bobby asked what was going on.

"Taylor can make you see things that aren't really there. He made me see baby's front window broken and then a second later it was fine." Dean said.

Kate crossed her arms. "He can only do that to one person at a time."

Dean nodded.

Kate rolled her eyes and pulled the wings back out.

Bobby nearly dropped his mug. He started at Kate with wide eyes.

Dean looked from Bobby to Kate. "You can see that?"

Karen gasped loudly.

Kate drew the wings back in. "See, I told you."

Bobby did the same thing that Dean did and spun her around to see where the wings came from. "What the hell?"

"Heaven." Kate corrected.

"So you really have wings?" Dean asked.

"Yes. Well, they don't do anything but look cool. They are made of light particles so I can't fly."

Dean blinked. "You have wings."

Kate grinned brightly.

Dean shook his head. "Why do you have wings?"

Kate sat down. "Gabriel visited."

Dean rested an elbow on the table. "Come again?"

"He pulled me into a vision." Kate said.

Dean traded looks with Bobby.

"Don't worry. He gave me information." Kate said.

"I got some information too and as you know, you can't trust everyone." Dean said.

Kate scoffed. "Well, at least I didn't sleep with him!"
