Excelsior Comics store in Queens, New York and and Peter was there to pick up his latest comic issue orders for the month as well as browse the new other new stock in the store. "... We got Nitro and Lady Lark teaming up in this month's Brave & Bold Team Up if you're interested Peter and I believe that Hyperion is guest starring in this month's Nighthawk..." the smiling elderly glasses wearing proprietor of the store told Peter as he looked at the display.

"Might try the newest issue of Marvel Action but thanks Stan..." Peter said picking up an issue of said comic for his pile and put it up to pay.

"I was going to ask Peter if you heard about Spider-Man joining the Squadron Supreme but I doubt anyone doesn't know now. Good for him I say." Stan said as Peter managed to give a smile and nodded as he paid. Peter then left and and Stan looked around and asked his assistant manager to man the counter as he went to check on something.

Stan went to his office and sat down; "I remember when this informant job was fun Uatu... The worlds were villains won the day are bad enough but this one where the heroes are mostly off the mark... Seems to be based on a source that looks down on the concept of good old fashioned superheroics..." Stan said out loud. "Cap is still missing... The Fantastic Four were treated as monsters... The Mutant race were nearly put to extinction in a Massacre and for the best as I fear what they could have turn out like judging from the source... Tony Stark never learned his lesson and only got worse and the Hulk never got to be seen as a hero by his peers... Even those taking a stand can only be generously called heroes for the best part..."

"I can't say that your concerns are unwarranted Stan but there is hope. One who has turned out like his counterparts throughout the multiverse..."

"Yep... Good ol' webhead... Working on bringing this dark Justice League down from the inside but he should also watch himself since even if they do win the day... There's a chance that Fury or Coulson could 'butcher' him and the heroes wanting to be heroes... He who fights monsters and all that..." Stan then sighed.

"Long way to go before we even get to the point where we will see Stan; for now let's just hope for the best..."

For those not in the know especially since in the Boys show they changed him to be more based on movie screenwriter and producer Robert Evans to reflect the current times focused on film and TV; the Legend or Old Legend in the Boys comic was a comic store mogul and informant for the Boys and was presumably based on the late Stan Lee. It might be a shock to be told that the portrayal would be as flattering as any other hero based on direct counterparts to other heroes in the comics as in to say... Did any hero expy in the comics have any flattering portrayal?

I was going to have the Boys esque group in this fic use his store as their headquarters but I didn't want the team to be too bloated.
