Author's note: A quick note before we begin on this final (planned) part of the journey. The universe that this story is set in is based on that of My Hero Academia. If you are unfamiliar with this manga/show there are many different kinds of people with many different kinds of quirks. Please remember that this is a world where canonically there are major characters with multiple arms, a bird head, and even a disgusting little thing with "sticky balls" on his head. There are also characters that can slow time for a single person, destroy and rebuild any matter living or dead, and a character that can rewind a person even to the point before they existed. That is to say that there is really nothing in this world that is impossible.
This part of ourstory is going to deal with elements that are fantastical just like those from the source material. So yes, this story deals with body modification (and technically BP) and the hurdles that would come from going to those lengths to expand your family. There will be talk of bullying and dysphoria. If there are any concerns please feel free to contact me, I will gladly spoil you if you are unsure if there is something you cannot handle.
Kurt woke up to feather light touches to his bare skin and a warm body snuggling close. He hummed in contentment as familiar kisses trailed down the back of his neck.
"Blaine," he sighed, rolling over to face his husband. He spied the clock behind Blaine and added, "it is 3 in the morning, what has gotten into you?"
Blaine nuzzled their noses together and asked, "Do you know what today is?"
"My lucky day?" Kurt teased before kissing him, happy to indulge Blaine in his seemingly frisky mood.
Blaine pulled back and whispered, "One year, you came back here one year ago today."
A smile bloomed on Kurt's lips as he realized Blaine was right. "It feels like a lifetime."
"That makes it sound bad," Blaine laughed, grabbing Kurt's hips and pulling him closer. "Is being with me so horrible?"
Kurt moaned softly as their bodies brushed together in the most exquisite way. "No, this last year has been like waking up from a nightmare, when you realize you are safe and everything feels real again and soon it feels like the nightmare never existed in the first place."
Kurt smoothed his hand up Blaine's thigh, over his hip, skimming his side before gripping his shoulder and pulling him into a kiss. All too soon though Blaine pulled back, his eyes, as expressive as ever sparkled with love.
"So it's been a good year?" he asked.
Kurt brushed Blaine's curls off his forehead, "The best year of my life. So much has happened, meeting you, teaching, finding Elster. Becoming a family. It's like everything I needed, everything I wanted I got this year."
"So what do you want to do next?"
Kurt looked at him in confusion, Blaine had gone suddenly serious. "What do you mean?"
Blaine's soft smile eased Kurt's heart, "I mean, what do you want now? What will the next few years bring to Kurt Hummel?"
Kurt rolled over on his back and eyed the ceiling as he thought. They were quiet for a moment before Kurt finally spoke, "I want to talk to the headmaster about reforming the support program. The way it is now costume design is just an afterthought and I think we can do a lot to build up the program and let the students focus on what interests them the most. I have a lot of ideas on how we can model it more like the hero course with internships and more specialized opportunities. Do you think he will be receptive?"
Blaine grabbed his hand and squeezed, "As long as you come to him with a solid plan, I think he will listen. Anything else?"
Kurt rolled back over so he was facing Blaine again. He wanted to see his initial reaction, "Eventually- I want more kids I think. I don't want Elster to grow up an only child, she is already so lonely- and I know school will help, but- maybe we could help some other kids."
Little creases appeared between Blaine's eyes as he asked, "You don't want biological kids?"
Kurt shrugged his shoulder, "It's not that I'm against them- I would love to have kids that look like us, that are a little bit of me and a little bit of you. Since we can't have one that is both of ours, I would rather adopt."
"Who says we can't have kids together?" Blaine questioned with an easy smile.
Kurt sat up and looked down at his husband, sure he had finally lost his mind, "That's impossible isn't it? I mean science here can't be that different from what I was taught."
Blaine pulled on Kurt's arm until he finally laid back down facing him. "It's not the norm, and there aren't many places you can go, and it isn't the science, but there are people with quirks that can make it possible. I don't know the details, I just know it can be done."
"Really?" Kurt asked in disbelief. It seemed at every turn he was learning that what he thought was true may not be so. When Blaine nodded Kurt added, "Would you want to? Have more kids?"
"I would love to have more kids with you." Blaine answered before kissing Kurt slowly.
Kurt wanted to growl in frustration when Blaine pulled back again.
"Aren't you going to ask me?" Blaine teased.
"Ask you what?" Kurt laughed.
Blaine's face was full of mischief when he said, "What do I want to do next year?"
"What do you want to do next year?" Kurt parrotted, suddenly intrigued.
"I want to love you- and be a good father to Elster- and continue teaching here at Dalton." Blaine replied.
"You really want to keep teaching?" Kurt asked. For months Kurt knew it was still a possibility for Blaine to open a Hero Agency with Sam and Elliot. With everything that had happened after Elster came to live with them, they hadn't breached the subject again.
Blaine nodded, "I think Dalton is where I am meant to be, at least for now, that is if you are okay with it."
Kurt grabbed Blaine's face between his hands, "As long as teaching makes you happy, I will support you."
"So I will sign my intent to return form and turn it in. And while you come up with your program proposal for the headmaster, how about I research how we can grow our family. Does that sound like a plan?" Blaine said.
"That sounds wonderful," Kurt said before growling, "But meanwhile, how about we practice?"
"Practice what?" Blaine asked, suddenly breathless.
Kurt nipped gently at his jaw before answering, "Baby making."
