Chapter one
Rachel Berry was a star. At least that's what she was told from a young age; by her parents, her singing teacher, her dance instructor and many people who heard her sing at charity events. Rachel was also very intelligent, being moved up a grade when she was in the third grade as she excelled at her studies. She thrived on attention, trying to get as much as she possibly could so everyone would know that she was destined to be a star. Her dads had her in the most prestigious dance classes and vocal lessons so Rachel truly knew how much of a star she was; she believed this until her first day of high school.
Rachel walked into William McKinley High School on her first day of freshman year with a short, blue pleated skirt, a white blouse, and a broad smile on her face. Her smile, however, didn't last long, as head cheerio, Quinn Fabray, threw a slushy at her face. That was the last day Rachel wore short sleeves to school.
Rachel's first day of high school was two years ago, she was now starting junior year with scars down her arms, thighs, and stomach. No one knew, not even Finn, though they had been dating all summer and she really trusted him, she just was scared of how he would react. Glee club had unfortunately lost regionals at the end of her sophomore year but was allowed another year for reasons unknown to her. She was happy, in a way, she had friends, a boyfriend, and she could show off her talent to the world. Yet, she couldn't quite figure out what was missing. The most popular kids in school were in glee club, she was dating the quarterback of McKinley High, and she had spoken to Brittany, Quinn and Santana without getting a slushy thrown at her face. Ever since Quinn got pregnant, she had been nicer to Rachel, she wasn't entirely friends with Quinn, no, (though that was a dream she intended to make real) so she was sceptical on whether Quinn would go back to being her bitchy head cheerio self, or if she would stay civil with her. Rachel didn't know why she wanted to be friends with Quinn so badly, maybe she wanted to understand her, maybe she wanted to be her or maybe she wanted the popularity she once had. Rachel knew Quinn wasn't happy, she could tell by her eyes, bloodshot, glazed, and she often caught her staring off into space during classes they shared together. Though it could've been due to the pregnancy, Rachel was determined this year to be friends with Quinn Fabray.
first chapter, i hope it wasn't too bad, next chapter is about Quinn.
