This is the 9th chapter. I don't own the series of My Hero Academia or the series of the Justice League.
BrianShooter672: Thanks, but to answer a couple of questions. The first question of Johnnathan Kent is yes because he's the next generation of Superman according to DC Comics. The second question of the Suicide Squad, no, except Katana, Peacemaker, and El Gaucho since they're alive but retired and have someone to take up their mantle. And for the third question about Jonah Hex, I'm not sure because after what you told me, it's almost like Captain America was frozen in the arctic after sacrificed himself in World War 2. Because it almost felt like it's an insult to Marvel Comics, but we'll see, and I have other OC characters to add in the future. Anyway, Superman will be in the future chapters.
U.A. Entrance Exams
Few months have passed since the Bat family, Catwoman, and Delta were patrolling the city and fighting against small time thugs and villains. Eri was making some progress in training and education with them, which she was able to learn how to use her quirk and getting stronger. Bruce and Ethan were pleased that Eri was making progress since she's homeschooled. However, they've got word that U.A. invited them to see the new students at the entrance exams while watching the news about U.A. High and how it can teach them to be a better hero.
"They're teaching the students to be Pro Heroes?" Ethan rhetorically asks in annoyance, but then something pops into his head. "Bruce, I think we should head to U.A."
"Huh? Why the sudden interest in becoming a Pro Hero?" Bruce asks in confusion.
"No, screw the Pro Hero part. If I went to U.A. High, we would have an inside man." Ethan explains. "I could plant bugs and we could quite literally wire the school. If we wanted, we could even upload a virus into their computers, plus with me, I can deduct the Heroes who're still in trainings weaknesses."
"Wait...So, you're saying you wanna infiltrate a hero school so you can hack into their tech and so you can bug the whole school?" Bruce inquires, earned a nod from him as he smirks which he knows exactly what he's thinking. "My God, I chose the perfect successor to the Batman mantle. Do you understand that I did this years ago? But instead of U.A., it was to the Justice League."
Ethan nods with a smirk as they stood up. Bruce seemed to be proud he created the successor to his legacy.
"But the question is, what are you gonna do about your suit?" Bruce inquires.
"I can't use the Batman suit since we both know that I used it often for saving the city and such, but I have the other suit I've been working on a month ago." Ethan explains.
Ethan led Bruce and Eri down to the Batcave and pull out a certain suit that Bruce used years ago to make people think that he was dead.
"What suit is it?" Eri asks.
"That's one of my suits I've used years ago to fake my death at Gotham City." Bruce explains to her. "And this suit is perfect. With this, no one will be able to tell that you're Batman or there at U.A. So therefore, it'll work."
"And I've done some upgrades. This suit has some cloaking device, so I can sneak around during the tour and at night." Ethan told him. "I'm going to sneak into U.A. for a month. During a month, I'll be bugging the whole school with microphones and mini cameras. After that, my main goal will be to hack into the school's security system, so I'll need to sneak into Nezu's office."
"Which the suit has built in cloaking device, so it'll be perfect for you to use." Bruce adds, earned a nod from him. "So, Ethan, what do you wanna call this project? Since you know it's your idea."
"Well, this is just in case the heroes gone rogue." Ethan said with a ponder. "I think we should call this Project: Downfall. Since, I'm bringing this school down from the inside."
"But, who's going to help you?" Eri inquires. "If the Pro Heroes found you, you won't have help."
Ethan was surprised that Eri was worried of his well-being because he got hurt a few times when it comes to fighting against thugs, villains, and even the Pro Heroes.
"She has a point; you'll be needing someone to back you up." Bruce points out.
Ethan then pondered a bit since both Bruce and Eri are making some valid points because he usually fights alone, but he sometimes fights alongside with someone. He then thought of one who can help. He decided to give Lita Kyle a call.
"Hello?" Lita said, answering the phone.
"Hey Lita, it's me, Ethan." Ethan told her.
"Hey, handsome, haven't heard from you. Besides finding some information about the brokers and fighting against thugs, which it's been months now. I heard you teamed up with Batwoman and V." Lita said.
"You could say we found some high-tech weapons at the abandoned warehouse." Ethan said. "Not to mention we've managed to take down some thugs, along with Harvey Dent."
"You mean Two Face? I've heard, and I was shocked that he's back and kicking. Thought he'd be a lot older, probably Bruce's age." Lita states.
"Apparently, he made a deal with the League of Assassins while using the Lazarus Pit to make himself young." Ethan explains. "After that, Two Face tried to kill me."
"That's messed up! I thought the Lazarus Pit is destroyed long ago." Lita points out in disbelief.
"All except one, which they kept it hidden somewhere in order to prevent us for finding it. And it sounds like Ra's isn't finished his legacy." Ethan told her.
"Guess not, but Ethan, you need to be careful. We all get the ideas that he's deadly and bad news to every heroes." Lita warns him. "Anyway, what's up?"
"The U.A. High invited me, Bruce, and Eri to watch the new generations of the Pro Heroes' Quirks to see if they either pass or not. But I have an idea." Ethan said as he starts explaining to her.
After a few minutes of explaining, Lita then spoke.
"Sounds like you're up to something, but I like the way you're thinking. Alright, I'm in, but you didn't by any chance made a suit for me?" Lita asks with interest.
"I did. Meet up at the Batcave after the entrance exam is finished." Ethan informed her.
"See you there." Lita said, ending transmission.
After they made their way to U.A. High, Ethan, Bruce, and Eri went inside of the school. Some of the students went inside of the room to get ready for the entrance exam while some were whispering to each other and noticed Ethan Wayne.
"Oh my gosh! Is that Ethan Wayne?!" The first female student exclaims shockingly.
"Yeah, he's the next in line to take over the Wayne Enterprise! I really want to work there and help out." The male student said.
"I bet he's single, because Ethan looks cute." The second female student said with an infatuation look on her face.
"I wouldn't mind dating with him, even without his Quirk. But he does have good looks and the body." The third female student adds.
Some of the female student couldn't help but feel enamored of Ethan which he doesn't seem to care. Ethan was feeling annoyed of the students since he doesn't miss interacting with someone his age nor going to any of the schools at all. Eri holds his hand tightly, not letting go since she's nervous. Eventually, they were able to make it to the Principal's office and just as they're about to knock.
"I'll be expecting that you accept my son and automatically put him into the top hero class!" The booming voice declares, causing Eri to jump and hid behind of Ethan.
'Enji Todoroki, AKA, Endeavor. The #2 Rank Pro Hero. Why am I not surprised?' Ethan Wayne thought with his narrowed eyes.
"Now, now, Endeavor. I can't just accept your son into my school because you say so." Nezu points out. "He needs to either pass the entrance exam or the exam for the recommended students."
Bruce and Ethan know that Nezu has a point, which it's similar to other high schools in Japan, but U.A. High is a school for the heroes in training with Quirks. Eri however, is still working on her Quirk, but with the guidance of the Bat family, Lita, and Tamao. Bruce then knocks on the door.
"You may enter." Nezu said.
And just as the doors opened, Bruce, Ethan, and Eri went inside of the principal's office when Endeavor turns to them.
Endeavor is a tall sturdily built man with a very muscular physique. He has short crimson hair which he wears spiked up around his head and sharp turquoise eyes. His beard and mustache appear to be made of fire, but when he voluntarily turns off the flames on his face, a small amount stubble shows around his jaw. He wore a comprised tight navy turquoise bodysuit with lines of flames streaming across his chest, upper torso, arms, and most prominently shoulders. He uses his flames as a makeshift mask around his eyes, and the tall boots he wears appear to be either made of fire themselves or constantly left alight, as only their soles and laces are visible around the flames. He sports white bracers on his lower arms, styled in a cage pattern, and a blue belt with a pouch attached to either side.
"Hope we're not interrupting anything?" Bruce asks seriously.
"Mr. Wayne, it's been some time." Endeavor greets respectfully, extends his hand.
"Likewise, Enji." Bruce said, shook his hand. "I'm sure you've met my adopted son."
Endeavor then shook Ethan's hand, but noticed Eri, who's hiding behind him with fear.
"Who is this kid?" Endeavor questioned.
"Her name is Eri. Ethan and Lita rescued her from Kai Chisaki while takes him down." Bruce answered. "You heard the news of the Shie Hassaikai a few months back."
"I'm well-aware of that news, Mr. Wayne. I may not condone of their vigilantism, but I do condone their heroism." Nezu said with a smile. "However, they're still criminals for illegally fighting against villains without having a Provisional License."
"I have no interest in capturing Batman or any of those vigilantes. All I care is having my son enrolled in U.A. High so he'll be at the top of hero class." Endeavor said with a serious scowl. "However, after what Nezu informed me, I'll respect his decision."
Bruce and Ethan knew that Endeavor wasn't too pleased of Nezu's decision since they know too well that he's keeping his anger in check and not destroying the school.
"But enough about that, why are you here, Mr. Wayne?" Endeavor questions, changing the subject. "Surely, you're not making either of them enrolled in U.A. for the entrance exam."
"Not exactly, Nezu invited us in order to watch the new students, including your son, for the entrance exams." Bruce explains. "I have doubts that if those students would ever get the ideas of teamwork."
"And why is that?" Nezu questions.
"Because they'll think that this exam is a competition, which it's not exactly the point. Like when you're in military, they need to work as a team when they're fighting against villains and not thinking that it's a game." Ethan points out with a serious glare on his face. "The entrance exam they're planning on going will be same as the real city whenever they need to work together in fighting against criminals and rescue civilians."
"And if they don't get the ideas, then they'll think everything is a game without realizing what the exam really means." Eri adds.
Both Endeavor and Nezu were completely shocked that Bruce, Ethan, and Eri knew about the entrance exams which it got them wondering if they've been watching on the news or not, which there's no telling about those three. They didn't even realize that Ethan Wayne is the new Batman and patrolling around the city, either.
"Never underestimate the 'World's Greatest Detective'." Bruce said with a smirk. "My parents gave me that nickname when I was a kid."
"Well, I suppose being part of the Wayne Enterprises has its perks." Nezu states. "And you were right about several things, they'll think that everything in the entrance exam is a game. That's something we can fix, which is why this school is here to train them to become the Pro Heroes. However, it'll be decided whether one of the new students will either pass or fail in the entrance exams."
"And how does that work?" Ethan inquires.
"Let me explain: you see..."
At the U.A., the new students were gathered into the auditorium for the Exam Orientation. The auditorium was dark with the lights turned off. It stayed like that for a moment before the lights were turned back on, along with the large screen in the front that show the symbol of U.A. And the Pro Hero standing was none other than Present Mic.
Present Mic is a tall slim man with long blond hair, which he wears spiked upwards in a large tuft behind his head, and a small brown mustache. He has rectangular eyes with concentric pupils and greenish-yellow irises, he's almost always seen with a large smile on his face, and is almost never drawn his nostrils. He wore a black jacket with a very tall collar, upturned and complete with studs, and matching black pants and knee-high boots. He sports tan shoulder pads and a red belt and elbow pads, all studded, and black fingerless gloves. His neck is always obscured by a directional speaker which he uses his Quirk. He also wears a pair of headphones with the word 'HAGE' written on the headband and a pair of orange tinted shoes.
"What's up, U.A. candidates!" Present Mic said with a smile, turns to them with his arms raised high. "Thanks for tuning in to me, your school DJ! C'mon and lemme hear ya!"
Though, they only give Present Mic a silent respond when he put his left hand to his left ear.
"Keeping it mellow, huh? That's fine, I'll skip straight to the main show." Present Mic said while started to announce again. "Let's talk about how this practical exams going to go down, okay? ARE YOU READY?! Yeah!"
Just as he sang the last part, he got a silent respond from them...again. Izuku however, couldn't help but feel excited when he noticed Present Mic in the auditorium.
"Oh my goodness, it's the Voice Hero: Present Mic! So cool!" Izuku said excitedly with a gasp. "I've listened to his radio show every day of the week. It's so crazy nuts from all the U.A. teachers were..."
"Will you shut up!?" Katsuki grumbled in annoyance.
"Like your application said, today you rock'n boys and girls will be out there, conducting ten-minute mock battles in the 'Super Hip Urban Setting'!" Present Mic announces as the image of a small box appeared with the lines attaching them to the 'You Are Here' box. Each one had a letter from A to G. "Gird your loins, my friends. After I drop the mic here, you'll head to your specified battle center, sound good?"
All of the new students silently pulled out their exam cards and looked at them. Izuku and Katsuki does the same, which they'll be in a different battle center, much to the latter's disappointment.
"Okay?!" Present Mic shouted.
"I see. They're splitting us up so we can't work with any of our friends." Katsuki said, putting two and two together.
"Yeah, you're right." Izuku agrees, looking at his exam card and then Katsuki's. "Our examinee numbers are one after the other, but we're assigned to different battle centers."
"Get your eyes off my card." Katsuki threatens him with a growl, causing Izuku to flinch. "Damn. I was really looking forward to crushing you."
"Okay, okay, let's check out your targets." Present Mic announces when the image of the faux city appeared along with three silhouetted robotic figures appeared around it, each with number points. "There are three faux villains in every battle center. You'll earn points based on their level difficulty, so better choose wisely. Your goal in this trial is to use your Quirk to raise your score by shredding these faux villains like a mid-song guitar solo. But, check it! Make sure you're keep'n things heroic. Attacking other examinees is a U.A. no-no, ya dig!"
It got Katsuki even more disappointed since he won't attack the other examinees, but it's enough to satisfy him by fighting against robots. Tenya Iida then stood up from his seat, raising his hand.
"Excuse me, sir, but I have a question." Tenya said.
"Hit me!" Present Mic said, grants his permission.
"On the printout, you've listed four types of villains. Not three." Tenya explains when he's showing the paper that has the images of four robots. "With all respect, if this is an error on official U.A. materials, it is shameful. We are exemplary students. We expect the best from Japan's notable school. A mistake such as won't do."
Tenya then turns to Izuku, points his finger at him.
"Additionally, you with the unkempt hair." Tenya shouts, earned Izuku's attention which it got him confused. "You've been muttering this entire time. Stop that. If you can't bother to take this seriously, leave. You're distracting the rest of us."
"Sorry." Izuku quickly apologized while covering his mouth, causing the students to laugh.
"Alright, alright, Examinee number 7111. Thanks for calling in with your request." Present Mic responds as he begins explaining. The fourth villain type is worth zero points. That guy's just an obstacle we'll be throwing in your way. There's one in every battle center. Think of it as a hurdle you should try to avoid. It's not that it can't be beaten, but there's...kinda no point. I recommend my listeners, try to ignore it and focus on the ones toppin' the charts."
"Thank you very much." Tenya thanked him, bowing him and then sits back down. "Please, continue."
The students then realizes that the exams they're planning on entering was like a game when they fight against those robots, earn some points, and try to avoid the big robot.
"That's all I got for you today." Present Mic told them. "I'll sign off with a little present. A sample of our school motto! As General Napolean Bonaparte once laid down: 'A true hero is who overcomes life's misfortunes.' Mm-hm. Now that's a tasty soundbite. You ready to go beyond? Let's hear a PLUS ULTRA!"
Izuku was starting to grow nervous after learning about the entrance exam, but this is the moment he's been training for. Even though, Izuku hasn't heard from Ethan Wayne after being saved by him from the sludge villain, not even months. Mostly because Ethan was patrolling the city as Batman while fighting against the small-time thugs, villains, and making some allies with Catwoman, Delta, and the Boondock Saints. It got Izuku wondering if he would be able to see Ethan when he gets a chance after the exam.
"Good luck! Hope you practiced hitting more than just books." Present Mic said as he then left the auditorium.
Back at the principal's office, Nezu finished explaining the rules of the entrance exams which apparently, Bruce, Ethan, and Eri paid attention to what he's telling them and gathered enough information. Both Bruce and Ethan weren't even surprised because they get a pretty good idea about what the new students are thinking. Endeavor was able to catch on to their expressions, and he even agreed to them. Eri was a bit surprised of Nezu's explanation, but knows full well that the exam was about fighting against the villains and rescue someone who's in danger.
"And there you have it." Nezu said, finished explaining. "Now, are there any questions?"
Bruce, Ethan, and Eri can only respond in silent while had enough information they need. Nezu can take that silent as a 'no'.
"Well then, I shall be heading to the monitor room." Nezu informed them. "Feel free to either come to the monitor room or watch the TV monitor. The entrance exams will be ready shortly."
Nezu then turns the TV monitor for them to watch the exams as he and Endeavor leaves the principal's office. Ethan takes the opportunity to place the devices as he finds a good spot to plant the first camera and the audio device which there's no way that the U.A Staff members will be able to find them since they hid them too well.
Earlier, Ethan and Eri were able to find good spots to plant the miniature cameras and audio devices at the hallways between the different floors which Bruce smirked at the little girls' progress of infiltration, stealth, and espionage. Eri does the same outside of the principal's office, finds a good spot to plant the miniature camera and an audio device.
"You're making good progress, Eri." Bruce praises her. "But you still have long ways to go in order to control your Quirk and joining the Bat family."
Eri nods with a smile on her face as she and Ethan sits next to Bruce while watching the TV monitor.
"Watch closely, the entrance exam begins in a few minutes." Bruce informed them.
And with that, Ethan and Eri then pay close attention to the heroes in training.
When Izuku was the last person to step off of the bus, he looked at their destination nervously with his body trembling. Battle Center B wasn't just a building, it's like an entire mock city with mostly empty buildings. All of it were surrounded by tall walls, almost intimidating to just stare at the giant gate where the participants are standing.
'Well, this is it. Time to put ten months of training with All Might to the test. Time to give it my all.' Izuku mentally thought with confidence, but his body says otherwise. 'I will become a hero. Just like I always dreamed. I won't let myself down!'
The new students of U.A. High gasp at the Battle Center B in shock, felt intimidated of the giant gate and the appearance of the mock city.
"This is nuts." The first male student said.
"It's, like, a whole city." The second male student adds with amazement.
"Can you imagine how much it cost to build this?" The third male student asks.
"U.A. is amazing!" The fourth student said excitedly.
Many of the applicants voiced wonder for Battle Center B and praised the schools effort in giving them a challenge. Izuku was so nervous, his body kept trembling as he remembered what Present Mic have told them.
'Like your application said, today you rock'n boys and girls will be out there conducting ten minute mock battles in super-hip urban settings. Okay, okay, let's check your targets. There are three types of faux villains in every battle center. You'll earn points based on their level of difficulty, so better choose wisely. Your goal in this trial is to use your Quirk to raise your score by shredding these faux villains like a mid-song guitar solo.'
Those words have echoed on his mind and being reminded of Present Mic's instructions for the entrance exam.
"Okay, this is it. A mock battle." Izuku said, gulped nervously as he turned his attention to the applicants, observing them and noticed that the applicants are confident. "How come none of these guys seem nervous at all? Are they that confident?"
Izuku then noticed some of the applicants had some equipment to match their Quirks.
"Oh...Some of them even have special gear." Izuku said, but noticed an applicant who goes by the name Ochaco Uraraka.
Ochaco is a short girl of a slender yet curvaceous figure. She is fair-skinned with a pink perpetual blush on her cheeks. Her eyes are large and round, their irises a warm auburn brown with rather thick upper eyelashes, two longer and more prominent ones protruding outwards on either side and fewer but more individually pronounced lower eyelashes. Shoulder-length and about the same color as her eyes, her hair is bobbed and curved inwards at the ends, two longer clumps taking the same shape on either side of her face, and short bangs that reach roughly a quarter of the way down her forehead. On the top inner segment of each her fingers, she has a small, pinkish pad that's slightly darker than the rest of her skin, somewhat resembling the toe of a cat or a dog's paw. She wore a gym attire that was black blazer with a white accent from the shoulder to the upper body, red piping, black pants, black wristbands with white stripe, and pink shoes with white trims.
'Hey, it's her! The nice girl I met at the school gates! The one who kept me from falling.' Izuku mentally thought as he walks slowly, but nervously. 'I should probably thank her for helping me back there.'
Until, he was stopped when someone grabbed his shoulder which it got Izuku's attention as he turned his head and yelped when he saw Tenya.
Tenya is wearing a blue tight shirt with dark blue accents and white trims, a matching shorts, and dark blue shoes with white trims. He also carries a water canteen around his waist.
"She looks like she's trying to focus on trials ahead." Tenya said seriously. "What are you going to do? Distract her and ruin her chances to succeed?"
"No, no, no, of course not. I..."
Before Izuku could even finished his sentence, the applicants turned their attention to him.
"Hey, over there. That's the guy who almost bit it out from earlier." The male student said with a smirk.
"He practically wet himself in the lecture hall." The bald headed male mocks, points his finger at Izuku.
"Dude, what a loser, but one less rival to worry about, I guess." The male student adds as the applicants laughed at him, felt like Izuku is out.
'Why do I feel like everyone's already written me off?' Izuku mentally questions himself.
"Right, let's start!" Present Mic announces, earned the applicants attention. "Get moving! There are no countdowns in real battles. Run, run, run, listeners! You're wasting airtime here."
Izuku then looked everyone else, but only to see that the gate was wide open and the applicants were already starting to run into the city.
'I'm already behind! Crap!' Izuku mentally cursed himself as he tried to catch up to them. "Hey, wait up! Save some villain points for me!"
While at the principal's office, Bruce, Ethan, and Eri were watching the TV monitor, watching the applicants ran to the different Battle Centers and taking down the faux villains. They first scene Bakugo taking down the faux villains with his explosion Quirk, but he stayed at the center taking. Then, they saw Tenya taking down the faux villains with his speed Quirk, the same quirk his brother used. The third was Ochaco used her gravity Quirk to float the faux villains and slams them down to the ground.
"It's no surprise that they have time limit on finding those robots in the different battle centers." Bruce said seriously. "Some of them used their Quirk for information gathering to form a strategy."
"While some, like Tenya, rely on speed to take down the robots quickly." Ethan adds. "Though, there are some with calm demeanor can have the advantage, along with raw power and combat prowess."
"Right, but Bakugo has raw power with talent." Bruce nods. "However, his downside was his arrogance and his ferocity. Bakugo let his pride get the best of him and looking down on to the people with no Quirks, thinking he's beneath them."
"Hold on, what's Izuku doing there?" Ethan asks, noticing Izuku at Battle Center B which he's falling behind. "He's got no Quirk, something's not right."
"Izuku won't be able to earn some points with just running alone, because everyone else already beat him to the punch." Eri points out. "And as far as I can tell, Izuku has no formal training, not even the fighting style or gadgets."
"He probably didn't plan ahead and gotten too excited to go to U.A. High." Ethan points out. "Then again, he's nervous when he noticed a crowd full of applicants. But still, Tenya and Ochaco were able to handle the robots on their own, but she's having problems with her Quirk."
"She's holding her stomach while trying not to throw up." Eri guessed. "Quirks can be strong, but it has some weaknesses."
"Right." Bruce agrees with a nod. "As you point out about Ochaco's quirk earlier, when she uses too much of her power, then she'll throw up."
"Tenya's Quirk is called Engine. Like his brother, Tenya grants him an engine-like protrusions in his legs to produce speed." Ethan said. "However, it requires fuel to work like vehicles. If he overuses the quirk or his protrusions were clogged, then he won't be able to run fast and it'll slow him down."
"And Bakugo's?" Bruce inquires. "His was explosion."
"Explosion allows him to excrete the nitroglycerin-like sweat from the palm of hands to create explosives." Ethan explains. "However, the downside of using it if the sweat was too cold and when the air makes a suction vortex, he won't be able to use it."
"And repeating explosions can hurt him between his palms and his shoulders." Eri adds. "Overusing it will cause him to lose his arms."
Bruce smirked at the two, impressed of the analysis of the Quirks strengths and weaknesses. They then continued to watch while analyzing the Quirks.
Inside of the monitor room, the U.A. staff members were watching the applicants taking down the faux villains in order to earn some points. They're impressed of the applicants' quirks which it got them noticed the different powers they're using.
"Clearly, the examinees have no idea how many villains are present, or their locations." Nezu explains, watching the applicants. "They have limited time, must cover a vast area, and hunt down every last target. Some use information gathering abilities to plan out strategies. While others rely on speed to pull ahead of their peers. Of course, remaining calm under pressure can be a huge advantage. As can pure power and combat ability. The most successful students use a combination of all these tactics. They're the ones who rack up the highest scores."
"Hm, I'd say this year's group looks promising." Midnight states with a ponder.
"Well, there's still plenty of time before it's over." The U.A. Teacher points out. "The real test has yet to come. Let's see how they react."
And with that, All Might opens a glass box from the controls and allowed to access to a red button as he pressed it.
At the Battle Center B, Izuku still wasn't even able to rack up the scores because many of the applicants have already destroyed those faux villains before he could even get the chance and he only got less than 10 minutes to find the faux villains, which time isn't on his side. Even though, many of the applicants are competing against each other to rack up the score instead of working together. However, they heard a massive explosion that was rocking the grounds of the Battle Center. Quickly turning towards it, the applicants saw it was coming from at least a block away, and it wasn't caused by any explosion or detonation. The only thing that caused an explosion and appeared, which all of the applicants looked at it and were all shocked in dread.
That faux villain turned out to be a zero pointer that towered over the tallest buildings. As it emerged from the dust cloud caused by the explosion, its red eyes looked down at the applicants. It then started to advance towards them, crushing a building it had its hand on.
'Think of it as a hurdle you should try to avoid. I recommend my listeners try to ignore it, and focus on the ones topping the charts.'
'Isn't this a little extreme?!' Izuku mentally screams in fright, watching as the giant faux villain brought its fist back.
It then sent it forward and punched the ground, causing another explosion of dust and debris. Many of the applicants there were on the streets were forced to shield themselves with their arms from the overwhelming blast of wind they were hit with. Not even Izuku was safe from the blast. Izuku was still standing with a frightened look on his face while the applicants were hightailing it away from the giant faux villain.
"Now things get interesting. A person's true character is revealed when they're faced with danger."
"This is a disaster. I've gotta run and find some smaller villains." Izuku exclaims, tried to flee by crawling frantically. "Crap, crap, crap! I'm still at zero points!"
"LESS THAN TWO MINUTES REMAINING!?" Present Mic announces.
"What?! Two minutes?!" Izuku exclaims in disbelief, remembered of All Might's training. 'Everything All Might did for me, all that training...It'll be wasted!'
"Ow!"
Izuku stopped when he heard a yelp in pain. Turning his head towards the voice, he found himself looking at Ochaco, trapped. Lying her stomach, her leg was crushed under a large amount of debris. She tried to crawl away, but the rubble was either too heavy, or her leg was broken. Izuku's mind flashed back when he first met her.
'I'm sorry, I didn't ask first. I figured you wouldn't mind catching you.'
And just as the giant robot was coming near her, Izuku quickly ran down towards it at top speed.
"There are no combat points rewarded for taking on the humongous villain. But there is...Opportunity. A chance to shine."
When Izuku kept running towards the giant robot, he unknowingly channeled the One-For-All Quirk into his legs, and then jumped at the giant faux villain. Ochaco felt the wind shift as he rocketed through the sky, surprising her.
"To show what you're really made of."
Izuku then clenched his fist and powered it up with as much One-For-All as he could. His arm sleeve was shredded while pulling his fist back.
'So, clench your butt cheeks, kid. And yell this from the depths of your heart.'
"SMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASH!"
And without any hesitation, Izuku punched a huge dent straight though the giant robot's head. Every single applicants in the Battle Center B stared with their eyes as wide as they could go and their jaws hanging, beyond shocked. The giant robot fell backwards before a series of explosions from within went off. Then its body started to rupture and buckle, as more explosions started destroying the body.
At the principal's office, Bruce, Ethan, and Eri were deeply shocked of Izuku's new power he used to destroy the giant robot. That Quirk was compared to All Might's and the punch is even destructive in between Superman and Wonder Woman. Ethan knew that something was off about Izuku, but he never thought that he's been doing 10 months training with All Might while using his Quirk without even knowing how to properly use it. He know put two and two together, figured that All Might passed his Quirk to Izuku.
However according to the files, Quirks can inherit genetically though what was known as Mendelian inheritance. A child can either inherit the father's Quirk or the mother's Quirk, or a new form of a Quirk. Given the fact that Tenya has inherited an Engine power, but in the legs while Tsuyu has a Frog power that she's inherited from her parents. Eri's power called Rewind was a genetic power that's coming from her family. However, he remembered that Izuku has no superpowers when they're kids, but recently, Izuku must've had new powers from All Might.
At the monitor room, All Might grinned as everyone else around him was either cheering or was completely dumbfounded.
"That's right. Show who you are. Embody what it means to be a hero." All Might muttered. "Nothing is nobler...than self-sacrifice."
Back at the Battle Center B, Izuku was still in the air and amazed at the destruction he inflicted on the giant robot.
'This is...kind of like when I was about to save Kaachan, but when Batman arrived and saved us.' Izuku mentally thought, remembered the time when he and Katsuki was saved by Batman from the sludge villain. 'But now I have a Quirk, real power.'
"JUST ONE MINUTE LEFT!" Present Mic announces.
Izuku gasped and screamed after snapping out of his thoughts, starting to fall.
'Okay, I jumped using One For All. So, maybe I can use it to get down too. Just like All Might, landing should be a piece of cake, right? Right. Right, right, right, right, right, right, right!' Izuku mentally thought in panic, looking at his legs and his right arm were broken which it got his face pale. 'I'm broken!'
'You may have molded your body into a proper vessel, but you did it in a hurry, so be cautious. The physical backlash of One For All can be intense.'
'He warned me. I should have listened. I can barely contain this borrowed power, even after ten months of training! And this is just a hair of his Quirk! I got way ahead of myself attacking that giant villain. I'm acting like a pro...when I don't even have enough skill to be a sidekick.' Izuku mentally thought, realizing that he got carried away of his power, but he only still has a left arm and one option left. 'No! This isn't over. There's gotta be something I can do. A Detroit Smash! It's the only chance I've got to survive. My legs and my right arm are broken, so just one option. I can do this. But if my timing's off, then I'm toast. Even if I live, I've got zero points! And if I break my left arm too, there's no way I'm gonna pass the exam.'
But, Izuku was too close to the ground, and he was descending faster when he just pulled his left arm back, about to use his Quirk again.
Out of nowhere, Ocacho slapped him in the face while on a broken off piece of robot. His body started to hover only a couple of feet above the ground and just a second before he hit it. The robot piece that Ocacho was riding on was floating.
"A-And release..." Ocacho groans as she struggled to place her fingers together.
Afterwards, both Izuku and Ocacho grunted as their bodies hit the ground. Izuku hit the ground with a thud, and the robot she was on crashing down to the ground. She then quickly covered her mouth and then blow chunks.
'I'm alive. That girl...She stopped my fall again.' Izuku mentally thought, weakly turns his head to her. 'Sure seemed to take a lot out of her. But at least she doesn't look injured! That's a relief.'
"And now...Thanks to her...I still have a chance to get at least one point before..."
"AND THAT'S IT! TIMES UP!"
The moment those words were spoken by Present Mic, along with the sound of the blowhorn, Izuku felt devastated. Izuku couldn't believe it, even after saving Ocacho from the giant robot, everything he ever dreamed goes up in smoke.
Back at the principal's office, the entrance exam is over. Bruce, Ethan, and Eri were shocked of Izuku's new power, but without any proper training or any tactics, they knew that he just recklessly used his new Quirk to destroy the giant faux villain.
"Of all the idiotic boneheaded glory grabbing moves, haven't he ever heard of using his head?" Ethan growled in annoyance. "Izuku just used his Quirk without thinking about the backlash."
"Calm down, Ethan. Izuku just learned of his new superpowers, but even without formal training while going recklessly without thinking, he saved Ocacho." Bruce assured him. "Izuku may have acted on his heart because Ocacho was in trouble and the giant robot is dealt with. However, he went in with no plan."
"Then that would mean that Izuku went in without knowing if his actions would hurt her or not." Eri states.
"That, and he needs to start thinking ahead and planning before he makes a move." Ethan adds. "In terms of that, his combat prowess is lacking and untrained in that regard. But with U.A. High, I think it'll give Izuku a lot of improvement."
"And with All Might as a new teacher, he may need to give Izuku some advice and some improvements of his new Quirk." Bruce nods with a confirm. "At his first try on using that power, it gave Izuku a lot of backlash and almost lost his limbs."
"But, he won't be able to use his Quirk in his condition." Eri points out. "Unless..."
"They have a U.A. Staff member who had a healing Quirk." Ethan guessed, earned a nod from Bruce.
"Exactly." Bruce said as he then stood up from the couch. "I think we got the information we came for, we should head back. And Ethan, you and Lita we'll begin once I convince the staff members for given you a tour."
Ethan gave him a nod as he, Bruce, and Eri head out of U.A. High.
At the Batcave, Ethan was working on the gadgets he and Lita will be able to use for infiltrating U.A. High. He was working a remote hacking device, a cryptographic sequencer, and disruptor since the security will be locked tight whenever the intruders, mostly media and villains, ever come to school.
"I came as soon as I can, handsome." The voice of Lita said, earned his attention. "Mt. Lady was after me few hours ago along with Kamui Woods. I was able to get away from these two, but I did left Mt. Lady a good scratch with my claws."
"I bet Mt. Lady is pissed after what you did." Ethan said with a chuckle.
"Oh, she is. Kamui Woods got crushed, she just accidentally swats him right towards the building." Lita confirms as she and Ethan laughed. "Anyway, you got something for me?"
Ethan then stopped working on the gadgets as he walk over to the suit maker while Lita follows him. After they made it inside, Ethan turns on the lights, revealing the female version stealth suit which it got Lita widen her eyes.
"This is your new stealth. I've been working on the suit when I got some free time from crime fighting. This suit has a cloaking device, it allows you to sneak around without getting caught during the tour and at night." Ethan explains. "I've upgraded mine and did the same to yours."
"It's amazing, Ethan. This suit would make it very easy for me to sneak around without any problems." Lita said, looking at the stealth suit. "You really know how impress a girl, and it's something I really like about you."
"Well, that's not the only suit I've been working on." Ethan told her. "I worked on the disruptor and a hacking device. The hacking device can override the access, cryptographic sequencer to bypass security, track signals, and listen on radio broadcast, and a disruptor that can override weapons."
"Sounds like you're making it easy when it comes to your gadgets." Lita said with a smirk. "But you'll need a helping hand, if you let me."
Ethan couldn't help but smirk as he and Lita began to work on the gadgets for the infiltration at U.A. High.
That's it for the 9th chapter.
