Odalia and Alador were walking around one of the fancier parts of Bonesborough. A small private area that they get to stake claim to. In the stroller, sat a small eight month old baby. There new daughter, Amity. They love their children equally, but they would be lying if they said they didn't love Amity just a small bit more.
"What do you say, Darling another lap around the lake?" Odalia asked.
"Why don't we ask Amity?" Alador said, leaning down to see Amity, "Do you want to go for another lap, Honey?"
Amity shook her Otabin plushie and started making random noises. Odalia and Alador gave small chuckles. They started to go around the lake again when they heard a noise in the small wooded area.
"Stay here with Amity." Odalia said, "I'll go check it out."
Odalia walked into the woods and fund something she never thought she'd see.
"A Human?"
Odalia got closer and saw the Human was injured. She rushed over and kneeled down.
"Ma'am. Ma'am can you hear me?"
The Human groaned and slowly opened her eyes. She saw Odalia and looked down. Odalia followed the Human's eyes and saw the inside of the Human's jacket.
"You're a mother." Odalia said, "Let me help you."
"I'm not going to make it." She said, lifting her hand from her stomach.
Odalia's eyes widened when she saw how bad this was. Her stomach had a hole in it, causing blood and intestines to fall.
"W-w-w... what is your name?"
The Human looked at her and grabbed Odalia's hand.
"M... my name is... Camila... Camila Noceda."
Camila started to cough blood and looked at the baby. She held the baby close and gave her a last kiss.
"Lo siento, mi Luz. Please forgive me." She handed the baby to Odalia, "Please, take her. Raise her as if she was one of your own."
Before Odalia could respond, Camila closed her eyes for the last time. Odalia checked Camila's pulse and frowned. She looked at the small bundle in her arms. The baby opened her eyes and smiled at her. Odalia smiled back. She couldn't be any older than Amity.
"Well... I hope Alador wanted four kids. You'll need a name." She thought about what Camila said, "What about... Luz. Do you like that?"
She tickled Luz's stomach, causing Luz to giggle.
"Yes, I think that will be a good name. Welcome home, Luz Blight." She said, "Let's get you to your father and sister, then I'll... figure out what to do with your birth mother's body."
