Summary: Eda took a walk through the outer part of Bonesborough. Despite her best attempts, she's beginning to think that her and her husband will never have kids, until she saves a baby from a group of criminals.

Eda tightened her hood and cloak, she doesn't wear it because it's cold, quite the opposite it was summer. No, she was wearing this, because she was the most recognizable person on the Boiling Isles. She's had a bit of a day, another failed test, that's the third one this month. She's almost ready to give up, finally realize that her and her husband will never have a child. She really wanted to blame Lilith, if it wasn't for that curse, this would've never happened. Still, she knew that Lilith didn't know something like this would happen. Lilith couldn't have known that the curse, even after being healed, would leave her infertile. She held her stomach, knowing that she will never know what it's like to be a mother. She continued on her walk when she heard shushed voices in the bushes. Being a former criminal herself, she knew a crime when she heard it. She moved the bushes out of the way and saw a small group unloading things they got from the Human Realm. Weapons, drugs, and... is that a human?

"Yeah, I think she'll catch us a couple thousand on the black market." One said, grabbing the woman on the behind.

The human was shaking, probably in fear. Eda also knew what they were going to do, they would sell her into slavery, maybe even as a sex slave. Something her husband has tried to put an end to. They pulled the thing out of her arms and looked at it. It was a baby.

"And this thing... we can probably sell it to a cook."

Eda had enough. She summoned her staff and charged at them. Before they could notice, Eda slammed against the man and he dropped the baby. Eda managed to catch them and held them while she took off her hood, revealing her massive orange mane.

"Well, if it isn't the Emperor's little lap dog." One said.

"Don't bring him into this because you were just caught doing something illegal."

Eda placed the baby down and attacked the others. She used her staff and slammed it against one's head. She made a quick circle and put up a magic shield against another's attack. She grabbed him and slammed him against the cart.

"I don't know how you managed to get to the Human Realm, but I will find out and my husband will put you in jail."

He smirked and Eda heard a bang. She looked over and saw a pistol pointing at the baby. She punched the guy and let his body drop. She looked over and saw that the baby was fine, the woman who jumped in front of the gun, was another story. Eda ran towards the woman and held her.

"Hey, hey look at me." Eda said, "You'll be fine."

"I-I-is... is my baby okay?" The woman asked.

"Your child is fine ma'am. I'm more worried about you." Eda said.

"P-p-please, take care of my baby. H-h-her name is... Luz."

With that the woman closed her eyes. Eda wanted to feel horrible that she just watched someone die, but she needed to get something done fast. She summoned a scroll and called the only person that could do anything. The Emperor.

"Honey, you need to get here and bring Lily." Eda ended the call and tried to sooth the now crying baby, "Hey, everything will be okay. I'm here. Luz, huh? I think I know what to do with you."

Well, she always did want a child.
