Summary: A companion fic to Demon's Embrace. From Naruto's POV. It's a haze of memories. Memories he knew he never wanted, never knew was his. He doesn't know. But it was all a haze. It all melded into one. Maybe he was a knight once… a human sworn to defend his country or was it his faith? He doesn't know. But now, he just wants one thing. SasuNaru Vampire Reincarnation fic.

So this wasn't completely planned, but I wanted to write Naruto's side… or what I think is what his side.
Just to clarify that the start will be flashes of memories. I plan to make a more coherent story from these in the future. But this will be experimental.
—
The cool summer breeze hit the training ground. In the background, an imposing temple stood, a symbol of the righteousness and holiness of its Empire. It was where conquests started, where plans came together and where soldiers grew as brothers and sisters, only to leave for battlefields filled with only one certain thin—death.
But he enjoyed these moments, these peaceful times before the slaughter. Before brothers and sisters would fight for things they long forgot but thought mattered. One man, clothed in simple clothes leaned on its concrete walls, sweat dripping from his brow after a long day of training.
"Sir Naruto! My Lord! I'm glad I found you here." A messenger entered his view.
"Ahhh my good man… You don't need to be so formal with me. Without others, I'm just me." Naruto smiled.
"Yes sir. The count demands your presence sir."
"Oh? May I inquire as to why?"
"I am not privy to the details sir. But a noble has built a castle nearby. I believe it's related."
—
That was when he saw him. The younger brother to the Count.
"Naruto! There you are…" The duke smiled. "You are my most trusted knight. And these are Count Itachi Uchiha and his younger brother, Sasuke Uchiha. Please do me this favor. Lend your services to the good Count. He swore to protect our southern flank and I need you to be his sword and his shield."
"Yes milord, I swore on my way of Chivalry." But as Naruto lifted his head, his eyes made contact with a pair of obsidian eyes, deep, and dark and as unfathomable as the night… The younger brother of the Count. It was but a fraction of a second. But Naruto could feel a jolt… not just a jolt to his heart, but it spreads, crackling like electricity deep within him, until it reaches his very soul causing him to shudder. He was sure the younger of the Count could feel it too as Sasuke faltered, his impassive face broken just for a second.
"You okay, brother?"
"Y-yeah.." Sasuke said. As the count and his brother joined the duke for their meal, Sasuke's eyes never left him.
—
"Sa-Sasuke…." Naruto whispered, the overwhelming presence of the other robbed him of his speech. "We can't… We're both men…"
"Do not deny it dobe… You felt it too didn't you? This pull between us.. Give in to it. Give in to me…"
Naruto's sapphire eyes met crimson ones, before a sharp pain pierced his neck. Then all the colors of the rainbow swam in his vision, his pain replaced by the highest of high. A moan escaped his lips as he collapsed to the man before him.
"That's it… That's it… You taste so sweet… so vibrant… so FULL OF LIFE…. MINE!"
"Yes… yours…. I love you… Sasuke.."
"I love you, too Naruto."
—
"The castle is breached! Retreat, retreat!" A soldier yelled.
"No! We have our orders. We uphold our vows. Hold your gro—" Naruto's eyes widened as he felt sharp pain in his chest..
"Naruto!" He heard Sasuke yelled. He reached out a hand, weakly calling to the other.
Then…. Darkness
—
Naruto looked at the man sadly. He swished his tail sadly as the man, dressed in black clutched a gravestone, crying pathetically on the ground.
"Naruto… Why? Why have you left me?"
-But I'm right beside you- He wanted to say…. But all he could managed were yips and barks. He was just a fox. Why is this man crying for him?
A group of men approached the man.
"Sasuke Uchiha, this is your last day. You monster will join the foul beasts in hell."
Naruto's heart ached as he saw the man unmoving from the grave. Sasuke did not respond, tears only flowed from his face. Naruto didn't know but he can't allow them to kill him. And so he attacked.
More men arrived. And just as Sasuke came to his senses, he saw a fox dead among with many bodies around him.
—
"Your soul is ripe human… You are now at the Zenith of your grief, the last of your journey. Your soul traveled this world nine times. You lingered this plane for almost a millennia. Your vessel is ready. Your spirit thrums with power. Don't you want to see your beloved once more?"
Blue eyes open to darkness.
"Sasuke?" He whispered.
"Not quite young one. But you will see him soon. Break the seal in the middle of the Capital. Free your beloved from the gate within. Go… he is waiting for you… Claim your long standing wish… It is ripe… It is time."
"Sasuke…. Sasuke….I want to see him… I want to.." Then… his voice turned deeper, huskier, more feral. "I WILL SEE YOU SASUKE."
"Yes, young one. Your wish… Go… Claim it… See your beloved. BREAK THE SEAL."
"BREAK THE SEAL. FIND SASUKE…. Sasuke…" He repeated the name like mantra.
—
Naruto woke up in a pool of dark water. He gasped, as if waking from a deep yet cruel nightmare, seeing the world in color for the first time. A man, hair crimson like fire, fangs glinting in the low light of the cave. One crimson tail swished lazily
"Master…. You've returned to us once again." The man extended a hand
"Who are you?"
"I am Kurama, leather of the Kyoto demon, head of the fox clan. The nine demon lords of Kyoto offer our services to you lord Kitsune. Let's fulfill your long standing wish."
Sapphire eyes widened. "Yes…. Let's" As he accepted Kurama's hands, his eyes turned crimson. Almost mirroring that of the fox demon.
—-
"Do you find your accommodations satisfactory, master?" Kurama asked, he's now dressed in pristine black suit, like a dutiful butler standing at attention.
"Yeah… it's alright." Naruto said, his nine tails lazily swaying beside him as he lied on one side. His memories are still hazy… He never even knew he had tails and fox ears. Nor was it explained how he got in that pool. But it still kept echoing in his mind.
- Break the seal, Find Sasuke -
"Kurama… Please tell me about the seal… Tell me everything you know about this… place… or time… or whatever. I just… need to know…"
"Very well. This is Kyoto… Magnificent isn't it?" Kurama said as he led him to the balcony, presenting the glittering lights of the city below. "But humans… have befouled this place… Befouled our homeland and drove us from it. It was once the home of the great foxes… once proud demons but now hunted for their pelts. It's disgusting. Disgusting and humiliating."
"Time and again you have protected our clans… but not just the fox demons. You fought against humans to protect all demons. Time and again, you were cruelly taken from us. First you appeared to us in three tails. But now… your form is magnificent. These paltry mortals could not possibly reach your greatness, now. Your long standing wish… we will help you and we will drive these foul humans from our home once and for all. Then foxes, wolves, birds and all things nature and demonic will once again flourish here."
"And the seal?"
"The seal is the symbol of the Human's arrogance. They thought they sealed the forces of hell for good. They thought they had won. For five hundred years they hunted our kind with impunity. They drove us to the east. But we are not cowards like the night walkers who ran. We stayed and fought. We were driven to near extinction. But now you are here. Break the seal, and you will free us all."
"Will I see Sasuke, then?"
"Pardon Lord, but who?"
"My beloved, my mate… A vampire… Or as your kind would call them, night walkers."
"I do not know. But these humans sealed everything they considered evil behind it. I am sure if you break the seal, you will see this Night Walker."
Naruto frowned. The fox isn't telling him something. But at least he has some grasp of the world now. And what the fox is in line with his memory. A voice. A voice telling him to break a seal. That must be it.
"What must be done to break this seal?"
"The seal is guarded by the Onmyouji of the Emperor. Powerful exorcists that I am loathe to admit have defeated us time and again. They are the ones who took you from us. For reasons unknown to us, you are the only one able to touch human seals. Every other demon would perish in an instant. So every time you return and fight with us, the Onmyouji is sure to kill you first. By then, the battle is lost. Without you to break their other seals, the Onmyouji are powerful- practically invincible."
"What do you mean by that?"
"There are four castles surrounding the Imperial capital. In its center is the seal to your beloved. You will be reunited with your mate. But the castles are created to protect a special defensive seal. A seal that will rip demons apart upon contact. These seals must be removed in order. But it will not be easy. The Onmyouji protect them fiercely."
Naruto grinned. For some reason, he was thrumming with power, brimming with strength he never knew he had. He was excited to go… to fight for his beloved once more. He was a knight once… at least that's his most vivid memory. He was his beloved's knight. He protected Sasuke from all dangers. Carried his orders without questions. And now that he can fight for his beloved again, it makes him feel… alive… with purpose.
"Then we shall get to work immediately. Gather your clan Kurama. And whatever force you can. We will assault these castles as soon as we can."
Kurama grinned. "Thought you'd never ask. We have prepared centuries for your coming, Lord. Everything is ready. You need only say the word."
—
The attack had almost been too easy. The humans squabble amongst themselves. Their in fighting gave the demons an edge. For the first three castles Naruto didn't even need to accompany Kurama, only providing support from afar by extending his energies and control of the wind.
One by one, seal by seal, the castles fell. And with each castle that falls, darkness engulfed the land; the nights become longer and tendrils of dark energy flowed forth, allowing demons hiding from the light to join the fight.
The Onmyouji scattered. Even with the help of some were beasts, part humans part demons, they were no match for the full pledged forces of hell. And wherever the yokai have difficulties, Naruto is there, always with his nine tails to provide the perfect cover.
For with every castle that fell, his powers grew strong. And it was not long until one swipe of his tail can summon tornadoes and earthquakes. Even the strong magic and seals that the onmyouji possess tore like paper.
Then it was down to the last castle. Naruto transformed into his fox form, thinking this will be a tough fight. He looked nonchalantly at the defenders. He heard the humans call themselves, the Hyuuga, the main branch of the Onmyouji clans and supposedly the strongest.
A human boldly paced forwards, "You are within my range, demons. You shall not pass. Eight Triagrams Palms: Revolving Heaven!" The human rotated as burst of pure energy expelled from him, reducing the demon horde by half."
"An impressive defense. But you are only delaying the inevitability. Let's see how you fare against real demons. Kurama!" Naruto smirked as he felt a burst of crimson energy behind him.
A burst of wind and the Hyuuga was slashed in the back. He tried to retreat.
"Ah-ah-ah" He clucked, one of his tails pierced the man on his leg. "This is a warning, humans. Leave well enough alone, my quarrel is not with you."
Sensing the hopelessness of their situation, their leader called for a retreat, the Onmyouji are completely routed. He had to give it to them, at least they have the sense to see a battle lost.
A horde of demon advances, but a female drove them back.
"Pure fist!" She said as burst of light flowed through her palms. "Neji-niisama!"
"Lady Hinata… Please… go without me… Run to the castle."
"No, I won't leave you here." Hinata yelled as she ran to her brother, wincing as she saw blood pooling on his leg, a huge scratch mark left his kimono in tatters at the back.
"Touching…" A deep voice echoed behind them. "I will give you one chance to go… All I ever want is my mate… Stop interfering humans. My quarrel is not with you. You will not deny my long standing wish." As always, his honor would not permit needless casualties, not on his watch. Kurama might like the bloodier path but he prefers intimidation. But then again, the demon lord was always on about how they lost him many times before, so Naruto could understand how Kurama was not taking chances.
Fox tails felled the trees around them, sending forth a strong gust of wind. He only really wanted to scare them. He is not a cruel man after all. Kurama's methods don't sit right with him. But still, the humans are stubborn. Obstinate to their cause. It had been like these throughout centuries.
May it be faith, religion, beliefs, land, loyalty or money. Foolish men had died for far less meaningful reasons. And he is sick of it.
"And we keep telling you, the seal here leads to hell. Your mate whoever he may be is not here." Neji gasped as the huge demon stomped his paw in front of him, eyes glowing crimson.
"Liar! Behind this seal… behind this seal is my long standing wish. My beloved is waiting for me. No one shall come between us again. He fought for me before. Now it is my turn."
Neji closed, his eyes, noting the mixture of anguish and sadness behind those crimson eyes.
"Leave human. Don't stand in my way. My quarrel is not with you."
He kept willing for the humans to just go. This is not a battle they can win. But some wanted to remain. Stubborn and stupid and pitiful. And so he as general of his army has to step in. But, just as he was about to advance, a strange feeling, came over him… a feeling vaguely familiar. A voice rang in the air.
"You… you're even more of an idiot than before." A vampire appeared, signaling to the Onmyoji to leave. Naruto is fine with that. He doesn't need needless casualties.
Crimson eyes met pure black ones. Those eyes are vaguely familiar too. But this is a Night Walker. Had the onmjouji conscripted the clans of the east? What is so important about keeping him from his beloved? Why are they always getting in the way? He gets angrier and angrier at just the thought. Centuries… millennia…. He endured so much and yet so many tried to keep them apart.
The demon growled, tendrils of crimson appeared behind him as his tail flail wildly, ready to generate gusts of tornado in a show of dominance. "Who dares interrupt—"
"Shut up, idiot." The vampire smirked… His body drew fearlessly to the giant demon in front of him. "I've been waiting a long time for you." Naruto was taken aback at the mortal walking confidently towards him. These Night Walkers think themselves immortal. But given sufficient damage they can still die.
He has killed many before… So many who tried to arrest and attack his Sasuke. He bristled at the memory as anger bubbled at the pit of his stomach.
"Foolish mortal. You don't know the powers you're dealing with. It had been etched in my soul since I was conceived. Carved in the very recesses of my mind. This is where I would finally reunite with my beloved, never to be separated again. If only I could break the seal… if only I could free him. Not even you shall stand in my way."
Who does he think he is? He won't keep him from his beloved. The seal… The seal must be broken. He knows this. It's the one thing that's clear in my mind despite all the mess and jumble of memories.
"Oh? Is that so, Naruto? You're as stupid as ever. This is not my seal. You would know that if you only listen."
"Are you saying I'm a Liar? Do not stand in my way night walker. My quarrel is not with you. My long standing wish will NOT be denied."
How dare he, a mere mortal insult him! Only one has been allowed to insult him. Even as a human there was only one. He will not be denied any longer. His beloved awaits.
The Night Walker sighed. "Still as stupid as ever. Not even thinking." He paused before closing his eyes.
"I missed you, dobe…" He opened his eyes, crimson with pinwheels. They glow with desire and longing, of love and lust.
Wait.. Those eyes…
He knew those eyes…
Even in his fox form, despite the anger and bloodlust and desperation in him…
He knew them.
How could he not? Nine lives he saw them brightened and dimmed for him.
Oh how he longed to see those eyes again. There's no mistaking it. This is his beloved. This is his Sasuke!
"Hold!" He commands and his army instantly retreats.
The change was so sudden that the Onmyoji fighting and running around them stopped in their tracks.
He dispelled his powers in an instant, causing the torrent of vile air and destructive energies to stop.
His body suddenly felt lighter. He felt like laughing and crying at the same time. And his Sasuke could feel it, COULD FEEL HIM. His return is like the warm embrace of the sun, the rainbow after a rainstorm.
Naruto returned to his human form once more, eager to hold his beloved in his arms- eager to be in his arms after so many years
"Sasuke…" He whispered. He could not stop the tears in his eyes… In split second, he could feel Sasuke around him, feel his cold embrace against his warm skin. He could see those alluring midnight eyes staring down at him, only him. Like he's the only one in that battlefield.
"It really is you… I have been searching… for so long." He breathed a sigh of relief. Finally, they are together. This time, he has the power to keep him. To protect them both.
"And I have been waiting for so long. Let me taste you, Naruto. I have waited centuries for you…I… am so hungry" Naruto could feel his lust… feel his love… and also his hunger and desperation. Ahh Sasuke… With Naruto here, he will never hunger again, never be empty. He could feel the brokenness of the man holding him, but also the completeness of them together.
Naruto bit his lips but bared his neck just the same— the same they had done throughout the centuries. How could he not offer himself to the man he loves in all his lives?
"I'm not human anymore Sasuke… can you still love someone like me?" Naruto asked shyly. He didn't know if his beloved could still love him like this. But he will not let go… COULD NEVER LET GO. Not now. Not when he's here, not when they're finally together.
"Stupid. I loved you throughout centuries, dobe. Knight, monk, geisha, or demon. You are mine. ALL MINE." And Sasuke sunk his teeth into smooth tanned skin. Naruto's vision exploded in all the wonderful colors once again. He felt as if he had woken up from a nightmare, a nightmare that was so long that it had become his reality.
But with Sasuke in his arms, and him in Sasuke's arms, they are home.
He is home and his beloved his home.
They are finally complete.
His long standing wish has been fulfilled.

End. A lemon will be uploaded but I'm still deciding how I will go about it. I'm thinking of also tying up some stuff with Kurama. But that is still under brainstorming for now. So feel free to make any comments and suggestions. See you next time.
