As Ash and Pikachu ventured towards Mesagoza, the path ahead unfolded with lush greenery and wild Pokémon habitats. The duo encountered various Pokémon, some familiar and others entirely new. Along the way, Trainers challenged Ash to battles, eager to test their skills against the aspiring Pokémon Monarch.
"Shroodle, Poison Fang!" Shroodle, the Toxic Mouse Pokémon, responded swiftly to its Trainer's command. With a determined look, it lunged forward, its fangs gleaming with poison. The Poison Fang attack aimed to strike Pikachu and inflict damage.
"Pikachu, dodge it! Then use Thunderbolt!" Ash's quick thinking paid off as Pikachu skillfully dodged the incoming Poison Fang. With agility and precision, Pikachu leaped back and unleashed a powerful Thunderbolt towards Shroodle. The electric attack crackled through the air, striking the Paldea native Pokémon and eliciting a squeak of pain.
"No, Shroodle!" The random Pokémon Trainer expressed concern for his Shroodle.
"Now finish it off with Quick Attack, Pikachu!" Ash, seizing the opportunity, commanded Pikachu to deliver the final blow.
Pikachu sprinted forward with incredible speed. The Quick Attack was executed with precision as Pikachu tackled the stunned Shroodle with great force. The impact sent the Toxic Mouse Pokémon hurling through the air until it collided with a nearby tree. Shroodle, now defeated and with swirl eyes indicating its condition, fell to the ground.
The reigning world Pokémon Champion emerged victorious.
The random Pokémon Trainer returned Shroodle to its Poké Ball, acknowledging the defeat. Ash, catching his breath, approached the trainer with a friendly smile.
"Great battle! Your Shroodle put up a good fight," Ash praised, extending a hand for a handshake.
The opponent, impressed by Ash's skills, reciprocated the handshake. "You're no ordinary trainer. Are you heading to Mesagoza?"
"Yeah, we're on our way there. Heard it's an exciting place with strong trainers. Maybe we'll have more battles there," Ash replied with enthusiasm.
The random Pokémon Trainer nodded. "Mesagoza is full of surprises. Make sure you're ready for anything. Good luck on your journey!"
As the random Trainer walked off, Ash heard a new voice calling out to him, "Hey!" Turning around, he saw Nemona, the Student Council President of Naranja Academy and a top-ranked Trainer in Paldea, approaching him. Her unique appearance and energetic presence continued to stand out. "That was an impressive battle," Nemona exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "You're Ash, the world Pokémon Champion, right?"
Ash nodded, acknowledging Nemona's recognition, but curiosity took over. "That's right, but how did you know?" he asked, genuinely interested.
A grin spread across Nemona's face as she responded, "You're quite famous. We heard about you at the academy, and when I heard the news that the Champion of Alola and the reigning Monarch was in Paldea, I had to meet you in person," the Student Council President explained with excitement. It appears that Ash's reputation precedes him, and Nemona was eager to meet the renowned Pokémon Champion. Then she added, "I heard you are very strong. How about we have a friendly battle?"
Ash couldn't resist the opportunity and replied with a grin, "Sure!"
The stage was set for a Pokémon battle between Ash and Nemona. Ash started with Pikachu while Nemona chose her favorite companion, Pawmi. As Nemona hurled her Poké Ball, a burst of colorful lights revealed Pawmi, a small, quadrupedal, rodent-like Pokémon with a vibrant appearance.
"What is that?" Ash, curious about Nemona's Pawmi, pulled out his Rotom Pokédex and aimed it at the unique Pokémon.
The Rotom Pokédex provided information, "Pawmi, the Mouse Pokémon. In addition to the electric sacs in its cheeks, Pawmi has electricity-discharging organs on its forepaws. It generates electricity by rubbing its cheeks, then it shocks its opponents by touching them with the pads on its forepaws."
Ash initiated the battle with a smirk on his face after identifying Pawmi's Electric-type. "Okay, Pikachu, let's start with Quick Attack!" Pikachu responded by charging forward with incredible speed towards Pawmi.
Nemona, confident in her choice, smirked and countered, "You use Quick Attack, too, Pawmi!"
The field was set for a clash of Quick Attacks between Pikachu and Pawmi. Both Pokémon moved swiftly towards each other. Pikachu and Pawmi engaged in a clash, entering into a stalemate as their Quick Attacks collided with impactful force. The two Pokémon glared at each other for a brief moment before both slid backward due to the collision's force.
"Use Quick Attack again, Pawmi!" Nemona commanded Pawmi to use Quick Attack once again, and the Electric-type Pokémon dashed forward with remarkable speed.
Ash, quick to respond, countered with his strategy. "Dodge it with your Quick Attack, Pikachu!"
Pikachu, showcasing incredible reaction time and speed, easily sidestepped the charging Pawmi at the last second. The swift evasion surprised Nemona and Pawmi.
"Oh, no!"
Ash seized the moment and commanded Pikachu, "Now, Pikachu, use Electro Ball and aim it at the ground in front of Pawmi!"
Pikachu swiftly responded, forming an electric ball of energy and hurling it downward towards the ground before Pawmi. The Electro Ball, aimed at the ground in front of Pawmi, crumbled the terrain and sent debris flying. Pawmi struggled to maintain its ground against the strong breeze created by the impact.
Despite its efforts, Pawmi was eventually overwhelmed and sent flying.
Nemona cried out, "Oh, no! Pawmi!"
Seizing the opportunity, Ash gives his final command, "Now, Pikachu! Quick Attack!"
Pikachu charged forward with incredible speed, tackling the hurling Pawmi with great force. Pawmi cried out in agony before collapsing on its back with swirls in its eyes, signaling the end of the battle.
"No, Pawmi!" Nemona rushed over to check on her defeated Pokémon, expressing concern. However, Pawmi quickly regained consciousness, reassuring its Trainer. Nemona kneeled to Pawmi's level, acknowledging its effort. "Good work, Pawmi. You deserved a well-deserved rest," she said before recalling the small Mouse Pokémon back into its Poké Ball. Accepting the outcome of the battle, Nemona stood up and glanced back at Ash with a big grin. "Not bad, Ash. I expected nothing less from you. No wonder you're the Monarch," she praised, acknowledging Ash's skill and the title he held as the Pokémon Champion.
Ash, realizing that he hasn't been properly introduced to Nemona, remarked, "You're not bad yourself... uhh." He then realized the oversight and added, "Oh, right, I never got your name."
Nemona, with a playful smile, introduced herself, "I'm Nemona, the Student Council President of Naranja Academy and a top-ranked Trainer in Paldea. It was a pleasure battling you, Ash."
The World Champion offered a grin to the Student Council President. "You too, Nemona."
Nemona, fueled by the excitement of the battle with Ash, declared with determination, "I will get stronger!" Her enthusiasm shined through as she added, "Next time, I won't lose!" It seems like the friendly encounter has ignited a spark in Nemona's determination to improve.
Ash, with a grin, responded, "I'm looking forward to it, Nemona!"
