Summary: Luz really hates petrification, especially now that she is petrified. With Eda trying to fix her, Lilith trying to help, and her friends trying to find out what happened, she has a lot of time to think about it.
"I really wish I could say I saw this coming." Luz thought.
Luz was being carted back to the Owl House while Lilith and Eda, who were in the front, were talking.
"What do you mean you just found her?" Lilith asked.
"I found her in the woods." Eda said, "I don't know what happened, all I know is that this isn't normal."
"You think?! She isn't human anymore, she's a statue!"
"You think I don't know that!? You think I wanted that?!" Eda asked, "This is the last thing I wanted! She saved me from that same fate and now she's suffered from it!"
Eda wiped tears from her eyes.
"I'm going to fix this, I don't know how, but I'll fix it."
They arrived at the Owl House and unstrap Luz from the cart.
"Come on, let's get her inside."
Lilith and Eda hoisted Luz up and carried her up to her room. They stood her up and looked at her.
"Kid, I don't know if you can hear me, but I'm going to help you. I'll fix this." Eda said.
"T-t-there is a way to see if she can hear us." Lilith said, "And I may have enough magic to find out."
Lilith put her hand on Luz's head and made a spell circle. She struggled to keep her magic up with the curse. She could hear what Luz was thinking, see what she saw, and could feel her brain still working. Lilith dropped the spell and took a few breaths.
"Okay, she can hear us, she can see us, and she can think." Lilith said.
Eda looked at Luz and placed a hand on her cold stone shoulder.
"I'm going to fix this Luz. I will bring you back." Eda said, "Please, trust me."
"I trust you, Eda." Luz thought.
