I am back again and should return to the weekly update. I might skip a week occasionally since writing is still difficult for me.

the song "Sweet Dreams" are made by Aviators

She couldn't get off the bus too soon, Rena is excited to visit her brother and all the others at the restaurant! The moment the bus opens its doors, Rena is out and practically running to the restaurant, ignoring the people entering or leaving it. She greets one of the waiters, who smiles in return, then Rena trots over to the stage, smiling up to the animatronic that houses her older brother's soul. Sean at first displays a subtle surprise to see her, then he smiles, not once breaking his performance. Rena isn't sure if he could do that as a child or if he learned this strong commitment from his time as Freddy.

Rena gives her brother a small wave, before happily skipping over to where she spotted Mike. His pleasure and surprise are much more outwardly shown compared to Sean. "Rena, welcome back." She happily embraces him in a greeting hug and steps away from one another again. "How're things going?"

So glad he asked. "I am finished with the technician education." She sways her hips with one of her hands on it, smiling widely. "So now I am officially a computer nerd."

That is fantastic news; Mike knew Rena could do it. "Congratulations!" he is happy to hear that she finished school and can now use her new skills to get more jobs— unless she is serious about getting hired here at Freddy's. "Any plans now? Looking for a job?"

"That's why I am here." Rena shakes her shoulders slightly. "So I can pester my brother to hire me as your official party planner. Figure you could use a geek, too."

"Yeah, we do." Mike says in a kind of somber tone.

It caught Rena by surprise and put a damper on her excitement. "What? What happened?" and replacing it with worry. The memories about the malignment malware the animatronics got affected with still lingering in her mind. "Did one of them get infected by—"

"No, no, the animatronics are fine," Mike stops her and leads her to a quieter corner. "but they have been discussing doing something that will make them less dangerous."

"Like some sort of third law of robotics?" Rena asks, and can't help but roll her eyes at the confused look Mike gives her. "You need to read more books, Mikey. It's basically a law that makes robots unable to harm people— of course, they have to abide by whatever a person commands them, but I don't want them enslaved like that."

"Me neither." Mike admits. He knows Freddy would like to talk with Rena about it, but he is curious about this subject. "Do you think this robot rule could work on the animatronics?"

Rena shrugs, "I don't know." unlike those in that book, her brother and the others are sentient; they do not think logically like robots. "Usually, robots do not think about wanting anything; they just do whatever it's commanded to do. It requires a lot of know-how to make such a program compatible with something as complicated as human emotions."

"So it's not something you can do?" Rena shakes her head. Yeah, Mike thought that was the case. Rena is smart and good at computers, but this is more than just computers; it's also knowing about human nature. "Do you think it would be possible?"

She shrugs, for Rena is honestly unsure if such a program will be possible. Which reminds her, "Why do they want such a thing?"

"They are afraid to hurt people," Mike muses, and although he does not think they need such a program, he can sort of see their reasons.

"But they haven't…" Rena is about to argue, but that's when she remembers the malware program, the story Mike told her about how her brother and his friends hunted Mike and acted more like animals. How the Toys were in a frenzy when they got turned on the first time. "… Right… I can see why… but I think everyone would be like that if they went through the same as Sean and the others did."

That Mike can agree on: his friends went through hell, and it has scarred their souls. "yeah, I think the same." And he hopes that they don't have to suffer for other people's sake.

Seeing a recess in the show, Rena takes the chance to speak with her brother. "So, any chance you got space for me working here?" she asks, giving the animatronic bear a cheeky smile.

Freddy rolls his eyes with a chuckle about his sister bringing that subject up again. He kneels down on the stage, reminding Rena, "You know that being a party planner won't be a full-time job? Besides, I think your talents can be of better use."

"Like reprogramming?" He blinks in surprise, and Rena reveals, "Mike told me about your little moral dilemma." Ah, so that's how she knows. Freddy nods slowly at the dark cloud of a before unknown past now hanging over him. Rena puts a hand on his arm. "Hey, I don't blame you for lashing out, right? Your life hasn't been an easy one."

That is true; his life as a robot has been practical hell, but "That does not mean I am free of consequences." Freddy says, and yes, he knows deep down that he's not entirely at fault, but that does not change the great feeling of guilt.

He is right about that, but Rena doubts it's a good idea to report himself to the police. Not everyone knows that the spirit world is a real thing. She opens her mouth to voice these thoughts but never gets the chance, "Hey, step away from the stage!" someone yells at her. Rena turns around, finding herself standing before a wrinkly, grumpy man who definitely has seen better days. "No customers are allowed to interact with the animatronics."

Since when? The animatronics loves interacting with customers "Freddy isn't doing the show, so I am free to speak with him." Rena huffs and turns back to her brother; she notices how angry he suddenly looks. And feels kind of proud when Sean sneers at this old grump: "Do. Not. Touch. Her." Rena loves having an overprotective brother, whose form represents his personality at this moment.

George wisely drops his hand and backs away from his sister, fearful and annoyed by his tone. "If one customer is allowed to interact, everyone suddenly feels like they can." He tries to argue.

That may be so, but unlike most other people who come here. "She is an exception." Freddy gestures at his sister, "This is Rena Legrand; she has helped us out several times in the past. So the least we can do is accommodate her." He eyes Rena, who is smart enough not to reveal their true relationship.

"If we accommodate everyone who has offered free service, we're losing money." George snaps back and gets redder in the face when Freddy rolls his eyes at him. "What kind of service did she give?"

"Hey, I am right here." Rena is annoyed by this old geezer speaking over her, not if she has anything to say about it. "I am a computer geek and very good at it."

The old man's grumpy expression lights up ever so slightly. "Then perhaps you can create a certain program for the animatronics."

"I am not going to mess with their heads." Rena says straight out. She has seen their computer minds' sophistication and does not dare to mess with it. "I have no wish to traumatize them."

And the grumpy expression is back: "They are robots; they can't be traumatized."

"Do I have to remind you WHY we are traumatized?" Freddy says sternly, aware that this man is the cause of why they got so dangerous in the end. George gets the hint and leaves before Freddy is no longer able to resist the urge to hurt him the same way that man hurt him and his friends.

With that grump out of earshot, Rena turns to her brother. "Who was that?" for she has never seen Sean act so hostile to anyone before. "Sounds like there's a lot of hate between you."

"That's an understatement." Freddy chuckles, though without joy, as it's not a laughing matter as to why he hates George. "He's the former owner of the company. The one who controlled the former locations."

Takes her a moment to get what her brother is saying. "Wait," is that old geezer the man who ended up tormenting the animatronics? Causing them to become traumatized. "Is he the one who..?" Freddy nods, and that begs the question, "Why in the world do you allow him in here?"

Freddy sighs. "He didn't give us much of a choice… George unfortunately got dirt on us that could end up with everyone getting scrapped. But," fortunately, he managed to gain the upper hand. "thanks to Mike, I was able to blackmail George as well. He may have a small part of the ownership, but he can't do anything without my permission. So, we're in a weird stalemate."

"Now I'm glad I am not in your suit. Mr. Grump sounds like a royal pain." Rena grins at this misery; it makes him chuckle and get in a better mood. "I take he does not know about the whole soul thing."

"No, and I am planning on never telling him." Freddy says. He isn't sure that George will change his tune if he knows the secret to what gave them their sentience. "Something in my gears tells me that he would only repeat history if he knew."

Rena nods slowly, like her brother, not wishing to see others suffer like her brother and the others did. But right now, that subject does not matter; what does matter is what Sean said. "" In my gears," Is that like a gut feeling for you now?" She asks, amused and curious about this observation.

Her brother shrugs. "Maybe the sense does remind me about the same feeling I got before… well, this," he gestures at himself, "happened." Rena is not sure how to respond to the fact that her brother knew about the danger yet was unable to get away from that murder. Sean shakes his head. "All right, enough gloomy talk. Do you have something good to share?"

In fact, she does— other than finishing her education. "Yeah, I was hoping you would accompany me to Mom and Dad's silver wedding anniversary." But apparently, it's not as good news for Freddy as she had hoped, for he turns away and becomes very quiet afterward. Rena wonders if she made the wrong choice in indirectly telling him about her wish to let their parents know about him still being in this world, just not in flesh and blood as before.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

They are back once again… these… monsters. Evil versions of some he was supposed to feel safe around. But in his dreams, they have become his tormentors for an unknown reason. He will do his best to defend himself until he finds out why they haunt his dreams like this.

'Don't mind the noise outside the door
It's just a phantom, nothing more.'

He turns his flashlight behind his back, and the dark shadow disappears before he can see it properly.

'No need to give yourself a scare
When you glance, and no one's there.'

He hugs the golden plush he was given, his only comfort in this nightmare.

'I don't wanna have to hurt you.'

The shadow appears before him, shaped like a werewolf with large shark teeth.
It steps over and forcefully puts its clawed hand on his shoulder.

'It's not your fault, I felt his rage
Just a child, about your age'

It briefly changes shape to a monster bear with purple spots.

'But something drives me to this place
I can see him in your face.'

This bear moves to stare with its blood-red eyes into his,

'You'll never know the hell I've seen.'

And no matter how much he moves, the bear keeps its eyes on him.
Darkness envelops both him and the bear, and the wolf walks into a faint light, so calm and confident, but with a danger about it soon will strike.

'Don't fear what's coming
We can't fight off the urge inside.'

The wolf's shape breaks momentarily when it glides around him, and his room returns into view.

'It's dark and you're afraid of
The devils that come out at night

The monster versions of his protectors appear inside his room; all their eyes are on him.

'Let's make this easy
Soon, you'll haunt these beasts you hated.'

The wolf shoves him closer to the monster Chica, and for a brief moment, she changes into something broken, the soul inside crying out in pain.

'No need for sleep tonight
Sweet dreams are overrated.'

He turns around, seeing the others in a broken state as well, like Chica; their souls are in pain, unable to make it stop— to leave this existence.
He wants to help them, but when moving forward, someone grabs him from behind and shoves him away from the suffering animatronics.

He turns around but cannot see anyone.

'I'm just a whisper in the void
No one's there, you're paranoid.'

A heavy weight on his shoulder, checking; the werewolf is back

'I'm just a trick of your own mind
Blink your eyes once and you'll find.'

He blinks, and it is gone, but the voice is still echoing through the room

'I'm just a ghost inside your head.'

Something unseen pushes him hard to the floor; knowing it's the wolf, he gets up and runs.

'Don't fear your fate that soon arrives.'

Monster Foxy stops him in the middle of this endless hallway

'It's a deadly lullaby'

He turns around, but monster Bonnie blocks his way, its huge mouth full of teeth awfully close to his face.

'You'll be with us very soon
Another spirit in the room.'

For a split second, he sees all the spirits that house the animatronics. They are all suffering in each of their ways.

'Take your place among the lost.'

The black monster bear grabs the spirit of Goldie and swallows it like a tasty snack.
He wants to help the good spirit, but his way gets blocked by monster Foxy.

'Don't fear what's coming
We can't fight off the urge inside.'

He tries to get past monster Foxy but is kept at bay by those teeth.

'It's dark and you're afraid of
The devils that come out at night

Monster Foxy disappears, and in its place stands the wolf, offering him its clawed hand.

'Let's make this easy
Soon, you'll haunt these beasts you hated.'

Like some sort of peace offering— no, an agreement of putting this torment onto others.

'No need for sleep tonight
Sweet dreams are overrated.'

He runs away from it and this cruel offer. His decline seems to amuse and anger the wolf, for it laughs before running after him. It soon catches up to him, pinning him to the ground.

'You can't wake from this dream
No one will hear you screaming

The wolf lifts him up, easily holding him with only one claw.

'So hold on for the ride
I'll take you with me tonight.'

The floor suddenly disappears, and he can do nothing but fall alongside the wolf.

'This nightmare, this prison
Inside the suits we live in.'

The wolf squeezes harder around his neck, and for a split second, a man with blood stains replaces the werewolf.

'Don't fear me, together
We'll have sweet dreams forever.'

The wolf beckons him, wanting him to accept this torment, but he refuses. He refuses to let himself see the friendly animatronics as monsters. He refuses to accept that he can only give out pain, that he is only something evil because of what he is.

'Don't fear what's coming
We can't fight off the urge inside.'

The wolf throws him into the darkness, and he finds himself back home.

'It's dark and you're afraid of
The devils that come out at night

He gets attacked not by the monsters but by his own mother.
She stabs him with the knife.

'Let's make this easy
Soon, you'll haunt these beasts you hated.'

Her actions are controlled by the wolf that acts like a puppeteer, and she dances around by his command.

'No need for sleep tonight
Sweet dreams are overrated.'

The wolf squashes her with its massive claws before turning predatory over to him.

'Don't fear what's coming
We can't fight off the urge inside.'

Thanks to the wound, it pounces at him, and he has no chance to dodge it.

'It's dark and you're afraid of
The devils that come out at night

The wolf is replaced with the monster versions of the Gang, surrounding him around the bed.

'Let's make this easy
Soon, you'll haunt these beasts you hated.'

They each start tearing him apart, replacing his body with something cold and unfeeling.

'No need for sleep tonight'

They throw him inside a dark room and slam the door, leaving him in this pitch darkness.

'Sweet dreams are overrated'

Can only see a little light, but something is holding him back, like needles sewn into his arms, shoulders, and legs, keeping him in place.

'Sweet dreams are overrated'

He opens his eyes and finds himself inside that rotted bedroom. Standing before him is that ghost. For some reason, it keeps dragging him back here.
The ghost moves over to him and whispers "Deny it all you like, but you and I are more similar than you think." It steps away and disappears with; "Did you think the game would end that easily?"

Hearing that fills him with a sense of dread he has never experienced before, that he has played right into his hand, that this is what he wanted all along…

Death is seriously overrated in this story... or is it the lore Scott created? Take your pick; I only know that getting rid of someone for good is a royal pain.

Any suggestions on what you would like to happen in this story is always welcomed since I only have the main plot in mind and can forget to address certain things you might be wondering about.
