"Dadan" a familiar voice called out as they arrived where her home was.
"What now, Garp" she called out to him as she had both Ace and Yamato over her shoulders.
"When did you pick up another kid" he said shocked.
"I did not but Ace found her and she a semi good influence on him at least," Dadan said.
Sabo was not always able to be around after all. None of them knew where he lived just assume it was on Dawn Island somewhere. He never let even Ace know where he lived or ever invited him to his home since they had known each other. Yamato on the other hand had nowhere else to go and at first needed help since there were things she could not do at first given how she was lacking hands after all.
"Well, good news if one kid was just a decent influence on Ace then another one should be able to bump that up to good. Even better that he is younger than both Ace and..." Garp said not knowing the girl's name.
"She calls herself Yamato Oden" Dadan told him after just dumping two of them on the living room floor.
"Yamato...Oden, huh" Garp said.
"Do you know something about her?" Ace's and Yamato's guardians asked.
"This here is my grandson and I want you to look after him" Garp informs Dadan "Apparently he lost one of his only friends recently. So I thought why not give him two more...that he can live with this time around"
Garp avoided answering the question about knowing something about Yamato entirely thus Dadan did not try to pry an answer out of him further. They were not that close but close enough to know when to and not to push things. So she just allowed his grandson to live with her for the time being at least.
Later that day...
"I am Yamato. You may call me Yamato Oden" she declared.
"Ace" he just said to the kid that the old man dumped on them.
"Monkey D. Luffy," the kid told them looking at Yamato then asked "What are you"
"Apparently I am a Mink...I guess" Yamato said.
Luffy then looked confused.
"She lost her memories but she looked like how a member of the Mink tribe would. We do not know how or why she ended up here but she is here" Ace told him.
Things did not go that well between Ace and Luffy starting out and that did not change when Sabo stopped by either. The only one that really seemed to get along with Lufy was Yamato. Mostly because he would listen to the stories she liked to tell as she showed off that ruined book of hers. The one that she was found with and would fight anyone that attempted to harm it even Ace, the person she was the closest to.
Then there was the incident that started causing Ace and Sabo to grow closest to Luffy as well. After that, he grew closer to them than he had been with Yamato previously.
"Huh!? You are not going to be joining us" Luffy asked
"Nah...seems more like a thing for just the three of you as I will still be sticking with Ace same as before. After all, we are going to discover who I am one day together" Yamato said.
With Yamato around, Ace had a goal one that was beyond anything that had to do with his father driving him forward.
Thus Ace, Sabo, and Luffy shared sake cups to become brothers while Yamato did not but it did not affect the bond she shared with the three of them.
