January 4th 1979
Lily groaned from the loss of contact when Regulus removed theirself from the couch, he shot her a knowing look which made her roll her eyes. She was already much too comfortable in his presence. As comfortable as she had been before everything changed. Before she was looking right at him yet unable to recognise Regulus, who they was becoming as they stood before her branded, or more like who he had already become.
Regulus pulled potion from his cabinet and placed it in Lily's hand as she looked up at him, brows furrowed. She couldn't just drink something a known death eater gave her! He was more than that though weren't they? Her Reggie.
"I'm not drinking that,"
"You most certainly are." Regulus stated, as bossy and entitled as ever. She smiled reluctantly,
"You are still that stuck up little twat I met on the train," she mused.
"The one that had you wrapped around their finger from moment un," the French at the end rolled off his lips so smoothly and the pool of emotions began to swirl around in her stomach for the second time that evening.
"The very one," she sighed no point in denying that. She definitely felt something even back then on that very first day. Her mind screamed 'adventure' while her soul said 'hello' her at the same time her heart begging claim 'mine'
"So, will you drink that up like the good girl we both know you are, in result your current state will vastly improve, you'll find yourself feeling stronger and well on the way to full recovery," Regulus muttered impatiently. Lily shook her head and tutted before drinking back the potion. Regulus' eyes blazing on her she opened her mouth to show she'd swallowed it.
"Such a good job, Evans," Regulus said in his utmost professional voice. Lily rolled her eyes and chuckled. Within 30 seconds the feeling of weakness began to leave her. Regulus sat theirself back down on the sofa above Lily's head as resummed stroking her hair as bold as bass. She should say something, she should bat his hand away but she simply looks up at him taking their sharp jaw and scattered freckles softening his hardened features.
"Pretty," She says without much thought to what is escaping her mouth,
"Yes, you are," Regulus counters instantly. She has not got the faintest idea how long she's been gone she should ask, she knows this. For the most part she wants to sink into this moment, just the two of them hid away like before. For a time Lily and Regulus lived off cadence meetings and stolen stares, she begged herself for five more minutes. She could be rational later.
His eyes were shamelessly locked on her lips. His fingers tugging her hair slightly now, prey she thought, I feel like prey. Lily had been in dangerous situations before she joined the order never before did she feel like this, something hunted and somewhat helpless. She was born with fire in lungs (and hair) . She had a can-do attitude and faced every battle and dangerous situation, someone all too worthy of the house she was placed into.
Now she felt like a deer caught in headlights, a stumbling deer looking up hopelessly and doe eyed at a particularly hungry Lynx. If anything helps a deer when encountering a predator it's their agility. Deers are fast, they are a lot faster than most of their predators. They can jump high and swim great lengths too.
So, the sensible thing to do here is run, she concludes in her mind as Regulus wets his bottom lip slowly with their tongue. Yes, run, Lily needs to run, she reminds herself as she traces the freckles across Regulus' left cheek which she reckons makes up the 'Leo' constellation. She so claims to have found the 'Canis Major' on Sirius' left cheek on a night of drinking.
Regulus' fingers stroke the back of her hand while she traces the constellation on his cheek. The pool of emotions in her stomach was starting to overflow, he dipped his head down quickly and brushed his lips against her for a few seconds before pulling away quickly the hunger in Regulus' eyes tells they did this out of fear of devouring her.
"Reg, I can't you know that?" Lily arches her eyebrow, Regulus nods in agreement, "I can't, you know, we shouldn't" Lily managed before throwing her arm around Regulus' neck and tugging him down harshly before pressing harsh kisses onto their mouth as soft gasps fell from Regulus.
Regulus parted her lips with his own, both of them whimpering and kissing each other desperately, the tips of Regulus' fingers tracing circles on the soft skin of her stomach that was exposed by the crop top. He pulled away from her gasping for breath.
"Kiss me," she demanded, hoarsely, not ready for this to end. Regulus just oogled her and she pouted a light laugh escaping him before he kissed her pout. He removed themself from sitting on the couch and walked a few steps before climbing on top of Lily. He returned to kissing her, with such desperation that their body seemed to curve into hers. Lily moaned into his mouth and she felt the smug bastard smile so she bit their lips drawing a bit of blood before suckling on his bottom lip for several moments.
Her lips turned to his jaw, she kissed up and down it, her hands thoroughly embedded in Regulus' hair. Regulus started grinding into her; she parted her legs naturally, opening up for him like a flower. As her head fell back soft moans escaping, he started to suck on her earlobe. She smiled, feeling him through her trousers, a nagging voice in her mind warning her not to take this any further.
September 1st 1972
Regulus was disappointed that when the red haired girl came back from changing into her robes she did in fact return in scarlet and gold. She was a gryffindor like their brother was, like his brother's horrid friends were. Gormless one with glasses entered Regulus' mind again what a poorly put together fellow he was, an unfortunate looking thing with a bird's nest on top of his hair and nose and teeth too big for his face.
Yes, Regulus was choosing very tactfully to ignore that noses that tended to be bigger was one of the features Regulus found very much attractive in a male or female. The guy that was fawning over the redhead that Regulus had claimed for himself appeared to be in Slytherin robes. This pleased him because it seemed the redhead had kept up a friendship with this sullen looking boy even though he was not in her house.
He did let their mind wander to what it would be like to be in Gryffindor, maybe his brother would pay him attention then. He would not simply turn invisible in the presence of 'the cretins 3' if Regulus too were sorted into the house of the brave and witless. Regulus knew deep down that wouldn't do. What would happen in the sorting ceremony would seal his fate in his place in their brother's life and there would be nothing much to do about it.
Regulus suffered through sullen Severus boasting about magical knowledge as both the boys stared generously at the redhead who was happily listening to Severus whilst also making sure Regulus could give input, therefore keeping her promise to include Regulus. She had a kindness to her that Regulus had not come across in his very young life. Though he could see the layers to her soul, they were most excited to pull them back and get a good look.
When the train finally came to halt Regulus followed just behind the redhead and the sullen one while she stuck her hand behind her back presumably for Regulus to take hold of, they sighed before taking it. He would need to keep stocked up in tissues. Regulus heard Sirius and the gormless looking one with glasses laughing loudly. He couldn't imagine anything being that funny, the two were likely showboating. Regulus rolled their eyes.
A large oaf was calling for first years to join him Regulus eyed him in a most distrusting fashion and straightened up their robes, letting go of the freckled hand and cleaning their own hand thoroughly with a silk tissue.
"That's Hagrid, he's lovely, don't give me that look! He is! honestly. You'll ride with him in the boat this year. Just for first years though Sev and I will be taking to carriages for the first time," She explained excitedly,
"Oh goodie," Severus sighed.
"I don't see why I have to make a spectacle of myself on the boat!" Regulus scoffed,
"You won't, you simply ride them over like Sev and I did last year. It's fun." she promised brightly.
"Right," Regulus groaned, clearly irritated by the whole thing.
"And I'll be there in the great hall waiting to watch you getting sorted and cheering you on wherever that may be," she assured him. Regulus tutted.
"Well there will no need for cheering if I make Hufflepuff but there will be a need to start writing me an obituary, I leave that in your capable hands," Regulus sneered,
"What are you like? Eh, there's nothing wrong with Hufflepuff," she squeezed Regulus' cheeks who was horrified and delighted all at once.
"Stop that nonsense, girl!"
"Lily," she reminded him gently at the same time the sullen one reminded him with significantly less patience.
"Right, my dearest darling Lily, I leave you now. And I am sure to see you in the hall, Sev," the last word coming out of their lips as a taunt.
"I'll see you in the hall too, and wherever you may end up we'll see each other properly again soon ok?"
"Ok," Regulus agreed as he watched her go, "Wait," he pulled the only gold ring off his hand that was otherwise covered in silver rings and chucked it at Lily who caught it and thanked them and slipped it on her finger with a smile.
They didn't know if he believed at that moment that they would in fact keep a relationship with the girl but one thing Regulus was sure of from that moment was that he would never forget her until his dying day whatever the outcome would be. 'No one forgets the girl with red hair' he thought sure their cousin Narcissa was the centre of every abysmal party hosted by the Black family 'Blonde's are noticed but redheads are never forgotten' Regulus decided.
Regulus climbed into the boat and settled between two brown skin first years with platinum blonde afros. A memory formed in his mind of them both sitting rather well behaved at a gathering a few years ago. Regulus was never permitted to play with other children but the more he looked he definitely saw these two at quite a few gatherings sitting like perfect little angels.
The boy was now slouching and had a look of freedom on his face as he looked towards the castle. The girl was chattering mindlessly, her voice airy and light and she was smiling and babbling and behaving quite the opposite to what Regulus had seen before.
"I know you," She sang and tickled his side,
"I do say that is rather inappropriate! stop that at once!" he demanded and she smiled at him and his anger melted away she was rather endearing he decided, he didn't let the mask slip his face remained stoney. "You are Regulus Black," she stated,
"And you are?" he asked politely,
"Pandora Roiser, and this is my twin brother Evan," she told him happily, "It's nice to see you somewhere where children can in fact be seen and heard and not told otherwise," Pandora stated,
"Yes it is quite nice indeed," he agreed, feeling the desire to smile at her but he did not.
"Reckon this is a day History is made? Think we'll be in this History book they teach out of in this place?" the brother Evan asked wide eyed looking at the castle.
"Maybe, whether famous or infamous remains to be seen," Regulus mused. Evan chuckled, "That it does, So, you headed for Slytherin?" Evan grinned. As they eventually made it to the otherside of the lake and walked through the castle Pandora was shoving friendship bracelets in Regulus' face and demanding they chose one.
As Regulus looked through the badly made bracelets he chose a green one made of faux position ivy with delph daisies on it while Evan told him a story about this gathering his parents had him and Pandora at before school started said it was at a politicans house. How the politicians son had come over and told Evan to shut up before Evan even got to say one word.
Regulus furrowed their brows. This boy seemed rude and uncouth. Evan went on to explain how because neither were technically attending Hogwarts at that current day they should change the champagne to lard magically and if they can't manage that, that this boy would just piss into them. Regulus looked disgusted,
"I know and then the weirdo started rubbing his hands together spouting about how he needs to get credit for it, um doesn't he mean blame?"
"Please tell me no one drank urine,"
"No, the boy managed to turn the champagne to lard, I hadn't got a fucking clue what I was doing if I was honest. That boy is going places,"
"Azkaban probably says he is not here is he?" Regulus panicked,
"No, we'll have the displeasure of him joining us next year, he isn't old enough until then."
"Name so I know to avoid,"
"Something Crouch and I think a JR on the end," Evan told him and Regulus nodded. Regulus slipped the bracelet on and explained to Pandora that they don't usually wear stuff like this; they are used to finer jewellery. Unabashed Pandora informs Regulus that he doesn't have to wear which he mumbles at her to hush up and that'll it'll be worn with pride.
"Black, Regulus" was the fourth name to be called by the black haired stern looking teacher who kept her hair in the tightest bun known to wizardkind. Regulus was not surprised when the women slipped the hat onto the young one's head that they were in fact a hat stall. The irksome little voice the hat spoke into Regulus' mind and vexed the young one quite a bit.
Rambling on about their wit and bravery. In the end the hat seemed unable to deny the ambition coursed through young Regulus a bit stronger than the other traits so he was placed as predicted in Slytherin. A piece of his tiny heart breaking off when he caught the disappointment in their brother's eyes as Sirius' face fell into his hand which supported by his elbows he was able to hold eye contact burning the disappointment into the younger brother's eyes.
Regulus climbed off the seat, straightened his robes and marched forward letting his eyes fall on the freckled redhead whose emerald eyes beamed with pride as she watched Regulus while an asian girl with blonde hair talked into the redhead's ear. He sat next to a stunningly attractive second year with dark skin and dreadlocks, she had a pierced nose though clearly only around twelve years old and was quite simply the coolest person Regulus had ever set eyes on.
"Dorcas Meadows, welcome to Slytherin," she introduced herself without a smile but the air between them remained friendly.
"Regulus Black," he shook her hand strongly, feeling zero need to clean it after. Regulus' fortune only increased when both Rosier twins were placed in Slytherin and scrambled over to sit next to Regulus who deeply hoped Evan would refrain from sharing stories that contained Crouch Jr.
After the headmaster spoke a few words a wondrous meal appeared but of course Regulus was used to lavish meals so this wasn't out of the ordinary he piled his plate and let their eyes wander over to her brother's table. Sirius, as it turns out, was not looking in his direction; he was arguing with the lump of a boy, Pettigrew. The gormless one with glasses however, Potter, he was staring right at Regulus grinning wide and chewing with his mouth open. What a disgusting excuse of a child. Regulus scowled and Potter to Regulus' horror winked! Regulus reached for pumpkin juice as their throat was feeling rather dry and to his horror knocked over Miss Meadows.
"Fucking hell Regulus, wrecking the place already your only in the door five minutes," she joked and pulled and wand out. Regulus' glare finding Potter's triumphant grin.

-Narcissa's letter to Alice.
Dearest Alice,
This letter comes in less of a light heart than the last, I managed to hear about the attack inside the Ministry earlier on this evening. As I hear it was quite a bit more brutal than the recent attacks and a few aurrors as well as members of the resistance those Phoenix people as you call them were hurt? So, I do hope this letter finds you well, I hate to think of you hurt in anyway. Please let me know straight away if you are ok. If you can meet me anytime soon. I should be able to get away tomorrow morning before eleven until perhaps around three pm. I would like to see you (In one piece I hope)
You know I have never been able to stay away from Wonderland too long.
I cannot stress enough the urgency in which your reply is needed. I need to know you are safe, mon amorette,
Yours forever,
-She who is on the other end of the red string tied around your finger.
Alice's letter replying to Narcissa.
Hello my fusspot.
Please, stop worrying. I am fine as always, ok? You don't have to worry about me ok princess? I will always be ok, that I can promise you. Physically I mean, as for my sanity, who can say? As it dwindles away every moment I am gone from your presence. I miss you baby. I mean if I say I was injured you come kiss it better, right? I look forward to seeing you tomorrow at eleven sharp, I know how you hate tardiness, that I learned quickly enough even if it took me long enough to apply it to our situation. I miss you, did I say that already? I really don't seen the point in opening my eyes on the day's they can't look into yours.
-Unrelated but we are missing an order member. The Phoenix people as you call it, Lily Evans? Red hair, Fierce, probably running circles around whatever death eaters have her or at the very least giving the fuckers hell. You know her anyway she was in her 3rd year I believe, when we were in our last. Anyway I am quite fond of her if you have information please pass it on and I will show you my gratitude tomorrow
Love always,
-The girl through the looking glass.

Marlene was snogging Dorcas like it would be the last time she'd ever see her. There was a moment in battle she thought she may never get to snog Dorcas again. So, yes up against the wall at an order gathering she indulged in tasting the raspberry gloss of her girlfriend's lips.
Alice chuckled as she passed Marlene who opened her one eye for a brief moment to see who it was. It was infact Alice, walking past them quickly with a letter in hand. Frank was biting his lip as he watched Alice disappear with the letter. Marlene sensed a glum energy around Frank and she thought of asking him was he ok but then Dorcas did something with her tongue so, Marlene closed her eye and focused on snogging her girlfriend.
"Ah, McKinnon see you have returned." James called, did he not see she was preoccupied, "Love to see what a wondrous job you are doing at finding your fucking friend!" he added. Marlene groaned and pushed Dorcas away and strode over to James.
"Here you fucking lunatic, I said I was going to get something and I was." she thrusted a small gold ring into James' hand.
"The bloody hell is this then?" he questioned softly,
"Was Lily's in school, she never took it off until it stopped fitting as she got older," Marlene explained, "Fine piece of jewellery for Evans," Sirius commented. James groaned,
"No, I'm just saying,"
"Yes, well don't mate, yeah?"
"Shutting up," Sirius saluted.
"Could help with the tracking since she was rather attached to this thing," Marlene added with a sigh. Sirius looked at it closer, something passed in his features then he shook his head.
"Mate, I'll use this ok? It's worth a try. I said I'd get her back and I will. If I have to shove the ring up you know who's ass and use him as a compass,"
"I love you, git," James chuckled and pressed his forehead against Sirius' Dorcas was shaking her head with her eyebrow arched. Marlene threw her arms up and smiled. Marlene was feeling rather anxious about Lily, giving Lily's blood status. She better be alright or there would be hell to pay. The last muggle born that got captured by those scummy prats left the order immediately and no one has heard from her since. 'Come on Evans, be alright you little priss'
Marlene began chewing on her thumb, Sirius and James broke apart. James eye's wandered up to the stars again as they often did. In search of a particular one.
