Chapter 9: Half-Mad:

Cyrus' POV:

I saw Tarrant, Thackery, and Mally all talking.

"You seem unsure of yourself," says the White Princess.

"I've been in denial this whole time," I said, "obviously it all has to be happening."

"I fear Alice may still be in denial," says the White Princess.

"Why does your sister hate you," I asked, "you're so kind?"

"I fear it is my fault," says the White Princess, "but... that is something between me and her." I then thought about Alice. "You really care for her, don't you?"

"I would die for her," I said.

"She is going to need someone who truly loves her," says the White Princess.

Alice's POV:

"So, how are you doing," asks Tarrant.

"I feel as if I should wake up by now," I said.

"Still think this was a dream," asks Tarrant, "well, that would mean that I am a dream!"

"You are half-mad," I said.

"True," says Tarrant, "but then again, you have to be half-mad to dream of me!"

"I suppose that is true," I said.

. . .

We were then all gathered together. "Who would like to act as the White Princess' champion," asks Nivins, the White Rabbit.

"I'll do it," says Tarrant.

"You don't have my ability to evaporate," says Cheshire, "let me do it!"

"No, I," says Tweedle Dee.

"No, I," says Tweedle Dum.

"I volunteer," says Cyrus, surprising me.

The White Princess then gets out the scroll and it shows the story. "It has to be Alice," says Nivins.
