Anbu Team Zeta

The SS-class Anbu team that doesn't officially nor unofficially exist. Only the Third Hokage knew them with the Anbu commander aware that they existed. Now, six years after their final mission they were reactivated by the fifth Hokage.

Standing in her office were its members, Anko, Naruto, Ino, Shikamaru, and Kiba. Who were all equally as confused as to what was going on. Kakashi, Shukaku, Inoichi, and Jairya were also in attendance along with the Anbu commander.

Chapter One; Reactivation

Land of Fire; Hidden Leaf; Hokage office

"Seriously?!" Anko Mitarashi, a purple haired special Jonin of the hidden leaf shinobi force questioned staring at the fifth fireshadow, Tsunade Senju. Said woman simply nodded with a resigned sigh, idly rubbing her temple "As much as I don't want to, I am forced to recognise both our lack of manpower and the daunting level of our opponents." The twin tailed blonde slowly looks up at her subordinate "I am forced to recognise the efforts of you and your team."
"…but they were off the books." Anko looked at her incredulously "Perhaps…" the hokage muses with a hallow smile "…though my sensei did have a black book on the subject."
"I see." Anko speaks cautiously and as her boss notices her hesitancy she waves it off "Relax. I won't call you out on it." Causing the purple haired kunoichi to relax slightly "Regardless…" the kage remarks "…I've already sent my anbu to recall the members of Anbu Team Zeta, and I will authorise its reactivation and reclassification into the official ranks as an Anbu team, you its captain once more."
"Yes, hokage-sama." The now Anbu captain reports.

A few minutes later and the members of the new anbu team arrive, all hesitant and confused at the combination called. Into the office steps Naruto Uzumaki "Hey Baa-chan… what gives?" he ducks the thrown stapler, which was caught by the teens sensei, Kakashi Hatake, without looking up from his book "Yo." His response stepping in. Next came Ino Yamanaka, silently walking beside her fellow blonde with her father behind her, nodding at his fellow T and I leader. Shukaku leads his son in both yawning as their nap time had been interrupted causing the kage to grow irritated at that but refrained herself for now. Lastly stepped in was Kiba who was grumbling as his mother had yelled at him to get a move on, his ninkin trailing behind him. The four lined up with their escorts at the side, Anko leaning against the wall but no one noticed the toad hermit, almost no one "Get in here Jairya!" the kage calls and in threw the window came the white haired sanin. As soon as he cleared the window a triple layered barrier went up causing the adults, beside the kage and Anko to raise an eyebrow as this was only done when addressing Anbu operatives.

With everyone present Tsunade decided to get this done like a band aid "Listen and do not interrupt me until I am done. This will only make sense then, understood?" her tone left nothing but finality causing all four and dog to stiffen and stand straighter causing the pigtailed blonde to nod in approval "Now then…" leaning forward, interlocking her fingers before her mouth "…what I am about to say and do will shock everyone but Anko in this room." She began gaining both concern and curiousness from the group at large "We have solid information that the Akatsuki may be held up in amegakure and as such…" head popping towards Jairaya is planning on infiltrating said village and investigating directly." Everyone could tell that Naruto wanted to speak but was biting his tongue as he could tell that Tsunade wasn't done yet "However, I am not comfortable with this and thus, with no spare Anbu level teams available, I am forced to reactivate Anbu team Zeta." The older shinobi all widen eyes to the point of almost impossibility "If I may, Hokage-sama…" Shukaku stepping forward "…but there isn't…"
"There is…" spoke the Anbu commander that nobody had noticed until now, standing on the opposite side of the hokage to Jairaya "…though, even I am not privy to its members or status." This caused further confusion, concern, and intrigue from all parties "I thought they were just a myth." Kakashi, now firmly rooted in the conversation to which the Hokage shook her head "No, they were real. Saratobi-sensei only kept one record and a black book to boot." Jaws hung at that, the older shinobi all knowing that black books were no less then SS-class secrets and even if found, the seals atop would cause them to erupt in white flames if the person touching them is not the current kage. "Then…?"
"You four…" Tsunade pointing to Naruto, Ino, Shikamaru, and Kiba, "…are hereby ordered to reactivate into Anbu status and join your captain, Anko Mitirashi, and prepare for deployment." The room went silent as the older ninja's all turn to the four who were even more confused then their superiors.

A lengthy silence was broken by Kiba "What…?" uncharacteristically subdued "You think we're Anbu?" Ino questioned with furrowed brows "That's not a funny joke, hokage-sama." Shikamaru states with a deadpan "Lady Hokage…" Anko speaking up for the first time from the wall she was leaning on, drawing the rooms attention "…you forgot something." pointing to her neck, causing the woman to widen her eyes in surprise having forgotten about that little detail. Going through a long set of fourty-four handsigns and calling out "Kage secret art; Seal removal." And a strong pulse of chakra later found the four to widen their eyes before promptly passing out. Kakashi broke out of his stupor and caught Naruto, Inoichi caught Ino, Shukaku caught his son, and Akamaru caught Kiba and layed the four down before they all looked to the hokage, who had stood up with worry looking down at the four now unconscious shinobi "What was that…?" Jairaya yelled at his teammate "I've never seen a jutsu like that." Kakashi mentioned but soon the light chuckle of Anko caught their attention "Relax, Kakashi." She says pretending to file her nails against her coat "They're my team. They just passed out from the rush of memories."
"Memories?" Inoichi questioned to which she nodded "Reintegration of the memories and skills we sealed away after our last mission together. Give 'em a few minutes."
"I dojn't understand." Shukaku mumbles to which Anko sighs before glancing to the Hokage who nods back "Six years ago, I lead Anbu Team Zeta in a bid to thin out the number of enemies we had to face." There were so many and the Hokage was too busy dealing with the snakes that hidden among us to have to worry about those outside. We never existed. No books, no records. Just silent shadows in the night."
"That's why we have Anbu." Kakashi almost growled in defence of his old post but Anko simply nodded at that "True, however sometimes you guys left traces. Besides…" she shrugged "…you guys were already overworked." Kakashi wanted to rebutle but knew at that time that they were indeed overworked "At the time, I was only training whiskers but eventually all four came to me upon his recommendation. Made an effective team that I asked the old man to test on a real mission." The snake jonin shuddered at the memory of their first mission "That mission… it went so well it was scary. After the initial shock of their first kills, they were ruthless. Cleared a bandit camp of fourty-four bandits and three missing nins in under five minutes." The room gasped at that "They were efficient and focused."
"Not that it helped in demon country." Naruto groans as he sits up, the first to recover, as Anko shudders again "True, but it was fun, right?" she chirps back with a sinister grin that Naruto matched and beat "You know it."
"If Kiba had followed the plan though…" Shikamaru woke next "It wasn't my fault." Kiba growled, sitting up too whilst absent mindedly patting Akamaru "That bastard used some kind of stink bomb to throw me off."
"You should have let me handle him then." Ino responded as she stretched out on the floor "I was closer, ya know." Kiba moans "We got them in the end though so what's the harm done." Shikamaru chides as he is helped to his feet along with his comrades "Welcome back, ATZ." Anko grinned and they all matched it "Didn't think things would get this bad." Naruto says, his personality shift was evident along with his now slitted blue eyes "What was the point of all that shit?" Kiba growled "Orders were orders." Shikamaru snaps at his comrade "I'm aware, jackass." Kiba snaped right back, arms crossed but it was clear to everyone that their attitudes, mannerisms and even postures had changed. These weren't the same kids that walked through that door "Brats, kage is waiting." Anko barked and all four stiffened and stood to attention, all playfulness evaporated instantly "Yes, Captain." They chourus stunning Tsunade at the level of professionalism on display. All perfectly straight, silent, and focused. Seeing her surrogate little brother/son like this was slightly unnerving to say the least. Even the glimmer in his normally expressive blue pools was locked down tight, nothing but a shinobi awaiting orders.

Tsunade sighed heavily, the weight of the world seemingly on her shoulders at that moment "Okay, Zeta team, I am not sure of your skills but as it was stated that you are an ambush, tracking, and assisnation team, I want you up to spec within the month."
"Yes, Hokage-sama." They choarus once more as now even Anko stood with them "This is no longer an SS-level security level squad. You will be S-ranked, like any other Anbu detail though from what I've read, you quite possibly be the best squad we will have on record. Is their anything you need to do before your first mission?" Shikamaru raised his hand and on her nod he asks "What about our masks, lady hokage? Are we keeping the same from before or are we integrating into standard Anbu practice?" the kage looks to her Anbu commander who stepped forward "What masks did you have?" they all pull their masks from various seals upon their bodies. Naruto had a Black Fox mask, Ino had a Black mask with red petals dancing from the left, Shikamaru had a Black deer mask with red detailing and Kiba had a Black wolf mask with red markings and Anko had a black version of her old snake anbu mask with similar red markings "Those aren't standard issue." Kakashi mentions inspecting them all to which Naruto chuckled "No, there not. The seals I've weaved into them are of the highest quality, I assure you on the Uzumaki name." such a boast was unexpected as even Jairaya could tell that it wasn't simple gloating but pride in an art he had perfected "You know Fuinjutsu?" to which Naruto nodded "Well yeah. I mean, both my parents had knowledge in the arts, and they passed it on to me." He says causally to which Ino nodded before a playful glint appeared in her eye for but a moment "Yeah, your folks were great and even approved of me." Which caused all three members to groan at that "That was a family matter you had no right to interfere with…" Naruto whined "Your mother agreed which was why I was there." Ino snapped back causing Inoichi to go pale but not as much as Tsunade, Jairaya, and Kakashi "You… you…" all four looked between the three confused before realisation hit Naruto "Oh, right. Yes. Jairya; forgot about you. I have a message from the red hot habenro." Naruto's smile was way to iry to the toad summoner, reminded of a certain red head. Ino's smirk was damn right demonic at this point also recalling said Kunochi's words "When you get here, I will rip your man hood off and ram them down your damn thoat worst then that time I caught you peeking on me and Tsunade." He growled out the last part of the sentence as the killing intent from him almost suffocated the man who was so pale at this point, that he would have given his traitors team mate a run for his money. Snickers from the side drew their attention to Kakashi who went silent as the glares on him did the same "As for you…" Naruto said in a very low voice that held a cold edge that seemed familiar to the former anbu "…that eye of yours, nor Rin or Obito, will save you from him." Before they both look to Tsunade who actually squeaked under the eyes that bore into her "You are not off the hook either. Be glad you have that hat, for now." Naruto barely whispered by the whole room heard as the killing intent finally faded.

Tsunade coughed into her hand to gain control of the room once more "Zeta, you may keep your masks… we will add them to the inventory." The five nod "You will be assisting Jairya, if he is engaged you will assist him and if possible bring them down."
"Yes ma'am!" they all choarus once more "Kiba, what will you do with Akamaru?"
"We already have that covered, ma'am." Kiba responds as said dog barks once "We'll have to redo some of battle strategies, formations and get him up to spec." Shikamaru thinking aloud as Naruto suddenly perks up "Oh, I should call him too then, right?" the adults all look to the male blond with his squadmates took a second to recall but all grinned "Yeah, the old coot will probably be grumpy after all that time asleep." Kiba snickers as Naruto goes through handsigns that none outside his team recognise as he slams his hand on the floor "Summoning Justsu; Kuruama." A large poof and a Akamaru sized bright red fox appeared, it's nine tails swaying lazily as it snoozes upon the floor "Told ya'!" the dog shinobi declares before Naruto nudges said fox with his foot causing it groan and whine before the sensations of the outside world hit its senses. It peeked an eye open and realised quickly that he was out once more, jumping out to see the terrified faces of several flesh bags before glancing up at the smirking Naruto "Yo old man, good to see you up."
"Brat?!" the kitsune questioned before noticing his eyes and smirking "Seals come off huh?" to which said boy nods with a growing sinister smirk "We're being reactivated. You ready to cause some mayham?"
"Always!" the fox chuckles as Naruto looks up to see the absolute panic in the hokages face "What?" he questions with a tilt of his head "THE KYUBI!" Jairya roared in absolute fear, pulling out his sealing gear whilst the others all leap to the rooms edge, the door still sealed shut "Oh, right…" Kiba comments as Shukaku sighed exasperated "Forgot about that."

Sometime after everyone calmed down Ino got a random thought and glared at Naruto "Your not still going after that pink haired skank are you?"
"Not as much as you are pining for that traitor of an Uchiha." Naruto growled back causing the other three to chuckle "You know, I don't like your attitude." Ino snarled "Can it." Naruto glared back and she backed down with a huff "Anything else, lady hokage?" Anko whilst still trying to get her laughter under control "Ah, yes. Your ranks." They all stiffen but Tsunade finally smiles at that "Based on what I've seen of your reports, I would put you at jonin level minimum…"
"…but…" Naruto adds with narrow eyes "…but, I think Special Jonin fits you all better with Anko as full jonin." Smiles all round as Kiba looks to Naruto "Genin to Special Jonin, huh?"
"Can it pup." Naruto glared with a flare of his chakra but Kiba flares his right back "Shut it down, both of you." Anko growls and they both fall silent "Thank you, Lady Hokage." The new jonin leading the squad bow to which said lady nods "You are dismissed. Good work." They all nod as the barriers come down and they all vanish in shunshins.

After the new Anbu team left, those that remained stood in silence for a time before another privacy seal lit up "What the fuck was that lady hokage?!" declared Inoichi slamming his hands on her desk "Since when did my…?"
"It started as a simple hobby, a side project with Naruto." Tsunade sighs leaning back in her seat, completely unfazed by the anger of the man "Then it snowballed and all four were roped in." a heavy sigh slipped past her lips "Apparently, they all took to the life of an assassins' like fish to water. Not much is known about their training but there are a few examples of their missions which I am not inclined to share with you all."
"Any idea of their specialisations at least?" the Anbu commander asks to which she nods bringing up a note from one of her desks draws "As you all know, Anko is a slippery one with snakes, poison and unrivalled stealth capabilities. A perfect assassin." They all nod along as she continues "Naruto is the team's powerhouse, in every sense of the word. Wind, Fire, and Water are his attributes and apparently, he is very creative with them. Secondly, as a seal master, he augments the others gear and equipment. No ideas on what seals he uses just says that they were incredible, sensei's words. His stealth is unmatched according to Anko."
"High praise." Kakashi states and they all nod with that "Ino uses poisons, water justsu, and is both the team medic and communicator. Sensei states she's their pillar of their coordination." Inoichi nods along with his leader knowing full well that his clan specialises in that role "Shikamaru's role is pretty self-explanatory." Shukaku nods with this "Though, his accuracy with kunai has afford him the moniker of Glint. Apparently, that's all you see before you die." the hokage states which causes a smirk to form of the Jonin commanders face "Kiba is the teams primary tracker, Naruto being their secondary. He is also the secondary hitter. When he and Naruto tag-team, apparently there isn't much that could stand against them, despite only being ten years old. Kiba uses his lightning chakra to punch through armour, steel, hell even castle walls."
"Sounds like there's a story behind that." Jairaya states to the room "Wait…" Kakashi speaking up drawing the rooms attention "…if Shikamaru has a moniker, do the rest?"
"Chaos Fox is Naruto, Venus Princess of poison is Ino's, Glint is Shikamaru and Black lightning wolf is Kiba's." she explains.

Land of Fire; Hidden Leaf; BBQ

"So, we've been reactivated, huh? Honestly didn't think this would happen again." Kiba sighs as he flips his meat on the grill "Tell me about it." The Nara mumbles before taking his piece off the chargrill "It's all good guys. Just going to have a load of fun, right?" Naruto sitting opposite the duo, his arm atop the bench with Ino snuggling whilst being fed by said blond "True. We can let loose once more." Kiba with a feral grin. "Speaking of which…" Shikamaru turning to his blond counterpart "…how high did you set your seal? I mean…"
"You were an absolute moron." Kiba chuckles as the whiskered blond scouls "Someone tampered with it."
"Tampered with what?" a familiar voice speaking up as Naruto throws his head back to see his pink haired former teammate, the others looking up from their meals "Ah, Haruno." this caused said girl to blink confusingly at that "Shouldn't you be at the hospital?" Kiba questioned reaching for his beer "Hey… that's my beer." Naruto growled only for Ino to place another before him, a foam mostache on full display as she burps "Sorry Naru, I had it."
"Ah, it's cool." he chuckles "So, blondie…" Anko with her mouth full of meat "…you still got that poison touch?"
"Natrually." Ino glared back causing the purple haired jonin to smirk "I look forward to it."
"I need to find our bows." Naruto mumbles before glancing at the Nara "Any idea what became of them?"
"Think I have 'em somewhere." Shikamaru states glancing at his friend "Getting back into shapes going to be ass though." Kiba comments and they all nod "While you four get back in shape, I'll take blondie two over there and work up some of our special brew." Anko pointing her head to Ino "OH! We're sixteen now. I can mix them myself."
"True." Anko concedes "Doesn't mean I won't be participating gaki." Ino sighs before nodding along knowing that arguing at this point is stupid "Umm…" Sakura unable to comprehend what was going on causing all eyes to return to her "…what's going on?" this time the group all blinked several times before looking to one another. Eyes all land on Naruto who growls at them all "No." Ino snorts at his curt response as he looks to Anko "Captain. Isn't this your job now?"
"It is." The Nara says swallowing the last of his food "I concur." Ino adds "Damn right." Kiba chuckles liughtly causing said kunoichi to pout "You lot were so much cuter when you were squirts."
"We know." they all chorus before laughing together causing the snake mistress to smile softly at them before turning to the med nin standing awkwardly at the booths side "Hey pinkie, long story short, we've been made into a new team. This is our first get together." Sakura's eyes widen at the news before her eyes lock onto her now former teammate "…but, what about getting Saskue…?"
"If we come across him, Haruno, best believe he will die." The lone Uzumaki stated firmly, coldly and with a sense of finality that sent a prominent shiver up then down her spine "…but…"
"But nothing, Haruno." Kiba growled this time "Traitors will be dealt nothing but a swift death." Ino added with an equally cold tone that Sakura swore she saw an icy breath escape her best friends' lips as her heart began to sink "You're barking up the wrong tree, pinkie." Anko with a very serious look upon her face "We don't give any mercy to traitors of the leaf. If my team or I find him, we will kill him." Sakura was seen shortly after crying as she blitzed through the streets as Theam Zeta headed towards training ground forty-four to begin their retraining.

Land of Fire; Hidden Leaf; Hokage's office

It's been three weeks since the reactivation of Team Zeta, and no one had seen or heard from any of its members with even the Anbu who were sent to find them had no luck either. Tsunade had reread the black book her sensei had left and discovered that there was a seal beneath the desk, ten centimetres from the right middle draw that she had to channel chakra through to summon them. Upon doing so, it seemed that nothing happened until the triple barrier went up and all five shinobi, a ninja dog and fox, appeared from the shadows "You called, Lady Hokage." Anko asks approaching the desk with her team at her side "Ah, yes." Tsunade says somewhat surprised they actually came "It seems in his infinite wisdom that my teammate had gotten restless and has already left for the mission."
"That wasn't part of…"
"I know." Tsunade growled clearly upset at her teammates lack of patients "Thus, I need you in the field, now." Anko nods before turning to her team "Gear up, full kit. Bring the pups."
"Yes ma'am." They all chorus before turning back to the Hokage "We'll be sure to bring him home." Tsunade nodded as the team all step back into the shadows and the barrier drops once more, the whole time she couldn't even sense their presence had she not been looking at them "I hope I did the right thing." With a heavy sigh.

Land of Rain; Amegakure; City Outskirts

Jiraya sighs looking at one of the dead Pain bodies, having exhausted himself in killing it and despite its last-ditch effort he managed to survive its final outburst of strength. Now he sits in the toad stomach beneath the lakes of Ame, pondering his next steps with Ma and Pa trying to disude him from returning to the front however his gut feeling is telling him that this intel that he is on the casp of is key to the leafs survival and he needs to retrieve it at all costs. Returning to the surface he is somewhat curious as none of the other Pains are around until a massive explosion was heard and the mechanical body smashes through one of the towers, in pieces. Wolf and his dog nin land quietly as he inspects the torn body before nodding and then notices the Sanin "Toad sage. Sorry we're late but you left early. Good to see you alive."
"You're…"
"You're back up." The black masked shinobi stiffens before glancing up "Understood. Found the Toad guy. Yeah. He's alive. Roughed up but… Yeah got it." He turns back to the Sanin "Any intel you can give us?" the white-haired man sighed at that "I don't think these Pain's are alive. They seem more like puppets."
"Flower suggested that too. She's mad her poisons aren't working." The anbu stiffens again and then nods "Okay, we gotta go. Fox needs a hand on the north side. Can you keep watch over here?"
"Sure kid. Get moving." And the anbu and non-descript canine vanishes seamlessly. "Thank the sage." Jairya sighs hard as he steps toward the destroyed puppet.

Land of Rain; Amegakure; Northern side

"Almighty push!" is heard as hundreds of arrows are flung aside in all directions with many vanishing in plumes of smoke with the two archers jumping clear "Any more bright ideas?" Fox growls as he lands beside deer who drew another arrow from his quiver on his lower back "Five seconds is his minimum firing time. Switch to plan F." Deer states as he draws back his bow once more "Fine! Shadow clones, attack!" and thirty fox masked shinobi leap from the shadows from all around the orange haired man who again raises his hands in opposite directions "Almighty…" Deer watches closely as the clones almost reach the man, kunai in hand with all throwing them at the same time "…push!" again an invisible barrier knocks the kunai, clones and steel tubing in all directions, him at the epicentre of it all. At that moment, an arrow plunges through his head, directly between the eyes, before exploding like a note sending skull shards in all directions the body going limp.

A tongue whips out from behind the building causing the duo to leap clear but just before they were hit "FANG OVER FANG!" Two black tornadoes slam into the chameleon side causing to it explode in smoke saving the pair. Fox and Deer land atop a shredded pile of steel and cargo containers "Any eyes on flower, drake or Canaine?"
"Drake should be…" a squawk is heard and all three shinobi and one ninkin jump clear as a strange bird smashes through their previous location but is tackled by a Red multi-tailed fox that leaped from a building up high. The two tumbles through the air, the fox unleashing a torrent of flames just before impact cooking the summon alive. When the smoke clears said fox steps out of the smoke with a maul full of feathers that slowly turn to ash "Damn bird was pissing me off."
"Bark!"
"Shut it. You're not my father." The fox growled back causing said dog to whimper "Now then…" black fox turns to black Deer "…go find and support drake and flower. Keep 'em covered." Said shinobi vanished immediately "We're going to find the real one."
"Where would he be?"
"If deer is correct, which he normally is, then let's try the centre of this place. Tallest building is most likely."
"Cool." And the two vanish with their partners in tow.

Land of Rain; Amegakure; Eastern downtown

"Fireball!" a massive ball of searing flames roar towards the human path Pain yet the chubby one appeared and absorbed it without much effort. As it did the second pain rushes around it only to meet the sharp edge of flowers naginata cleanly slicing through its head from behind. Preta path lunges at Flower, grabbing her wrist and moves to grapple her only to also be relieved of its head, arm, then torso as Drake's rapid slashes cut it down as if nothing was there. An arrow slips past them both as a toad is ran through by said arrow that promptly puffs away to reveal Animal Path with the arrow through her chest "Didn't you say never to let your guard down, sensei?"
"Shut it twerp!"
"Where's the mutts at?"
"Central district. I suggested that's where the big guy would be."
"Then seal them up and let's get moving." Drake orders and her two subordinates do just that.

Land of Rain; Amegakure; Central Spire

Fox, Wolf, and their companions land on the ledge of the tallest spire and see a blue haired woman rushing to meet them "Think we got the right place?" Fox looking to his partner in crime who nods "Seems like it." As their companions charge forward as the last pain, Naraka Path, appears from above going for an axe kick only to be blocked by Fox, the shockwave of him being forced down and bending the thick metal floor was immense. Wolf appears and kicks the man clear before the duo tag team the moving corpse with claw swipes and a leg sweep followed up by Wolfs fist connecting with his face. Crunch. Boom.

Paper fills the room as the two would be assassins leap back, their partners landing beside them as they all skid to the roofs edge "You will go no further!" the blue haired kunoichi roared as her paper jutsu rushes forward but the two shinobi start going through the hand signs as both canines' muzzles glow with flames "Wind style; slashing wind." Fox calls "Wind style; Great break through." Wolf calls as they combine their attacks that rush forward with razor winds among the blast of wind, shredding the papers before the flame from both the dog and fox join in creating an inferno the turns the shredded paper to ash in but a moment.

Drake, Flower, and Deer land beside the column of smoke and find both Fox and Wolf standing over a burnt blue haired kunochi who is glaring at them with half a body "You… who…?"
"Where's your boss?" Fox asks but she just continued to glare at them when a senbon of poison hits her neck and she promptly passes out, her death would be silent and, in her sleep, so painless. Both teens look back to see Flower finally relax as their captain gives out hand signals for them to move and search the building. They all nod and vanish into the shadows.

In an enclosed room, hidden from the buildings planners and the general public sat a man hooked up to numerous machines and clearly crippled. This man was known by all as Pain, but his recently deceased childhood friend knew his true name was Nagato, Nagato Uzumaki and barer of the famed dojustsu the Rennigan "You can come out now." His raspy voice as he glances up at the shadow where five shinobi step out, two ninja hounds with them "So, you all are the ones that defeated my paths?" they all remain silent "I see. You are all truly shinobi of a high calibre." Several spikes launch from his chair at three of them only for one to move quick enough to catch them all then drop them harmlessly on the ground. The red head smirks at that "I truly have been defeated." A heavy sigh slips from his frail lips as Jairya appeared beside the group "What happened to you Nagato?"
"Jairya-sensei? I take it you were the ones who summoned them here?"
"No. My team… Doesn't matter." The toad sage sighs as his face hardened "What happened to you, Knonan and Yahiko? I thought you wanted peace as I do?" a mirthless chuckle rumbles from deep within his throat "That peace is a lie and cannot come to pass. We learned that the hard way, sensei. We did try, the sage knows we tried yet…"
"You gave up too soon mortal." The red fox bellowed stepping forward to stand beside the toad sage, drawing both their attention "You carry my fathers eyes yet you are blinded, chained down by your grief and hatred." The beast sighs hard "When we saw you for the first time, I had hoped you would impress me but as we fought all you could do was claim to be a god and only led by fear. My father would be ashamed to see one with his eyes act so foolishly."
"Your father?"
"You know him as the sage of six paths, flesh bag. Surely, as an Uzumaki, you would know of him."
"I do." Nagato says with another tired sigh escaping him "I wanted peace…"
"…but you were fooled by your own ego. Pity. I would have hoped those eyes would allow you to see the truth of the world but instead you tried to imprint your truth on the world. A true shame." Kuruma states as his tails wag lazily "Now, before we take your life, I will hear your story before destroying those eyes to ensure that they not fall into the wro…"
"Beware of Madara. He still lives." Nagato cutting off the fox causing all to stiffen "Impossible, mortal. The Shinigami has already claimed that soul." Kuruma growls "Then he truly is an impostor then." The redhead states to which the fox nods "Any last words?"
"Wait! I want to hear…!" the toad sanin was cut off as Nagato spoke "The deva path. Could you ensure that it is destroyed fully. I wish to see him upon the other side."
"It shall be done." The fox declares as flames engulf the man "NO!" Jairya roars but is promptly knocked out by Drake as Kuruma destroys the dojutsu and they all leave, allowing the flames to engulf the entire spire leaving no trace of the group behind.

Land of Fire; Hidden Leaf; Dango Shop

"That was way more fun then I expected." Anko chuckled as she downs another pitcher of beer, grabbing eight sticks of sweet dango "True." Kiba chuckles as he lowers his cup of beer down from his lips, a content sigh "We could have done it quicker if we were in top condition." Shikamaru states twirling his whiskey on the rocks as he stares off into it "We have time for that now, Shika." Naruto sitting opposite him states "Yeah. After the week of rest is up, we'll head back to training and get our old skills back completely." Ino adds from Naruto's lap, munching on some dango herself "Though seems your arrows are as sharp as ever though."
"Only due to your seals." Shika shot back at Naruto who chuckled "You sell yourself short my pineapple haired friend."
"Fuck it." Shika growls downing his whiskey and lifting to signal another from the bar "How's the toad sage handling it?" Naruto shrugs at the shadow users' question "Dunno. Don't really care all that much."
"isn't he your god father?"
"He was. If I was in my right mind, I never would have signed that damn toad contract. All he wants is a second flash and quite frankly I'm sick of it all." Naruto growled out at the end to which they all nodded recalling his feelings from the last time "So, no dreams of becoming hokage?" Anko asks with a knowing smirk to which her male blond student snorted hard at that "Sensei, don't insult my intelligence. Think I could actually sit at a desk all day?" this time his whole squad snorted at that "True." They chorus much to his annoyance "Oi." He growled and they all chuckle unaware of the confusion of many all around at the closeness of their group. The rumour mill was working overtime at the sight of the six clearly close friends chatting amicably among themselves.

Authors Note;
Came up with this today and turned out better than I thought. Though a bit rushed I'll work on it during my off times from my other stories. I was looking at the Characters in Naruto who would work well together and I think this team would by hyper-lethal together if they worked together. I gave Shikamaru a bow to assist in his ranged attacks but Naruto too will use one on occasion along with his sealing abilities. Ino and her flower shop have access to a wide range of poisons and Kiba is the teams tracker unit with Naruto assisting in that as well as they are both animalistic in nature allowing their teamwork to reach levels Kakashi could only dream of.

In the next chapter Anko argues with Tsunade who tries to add Kakashi to their team, to keep an eye on them, but backs off when Naruto and Kiba almost kill him in a spar. The other rookies get roped in and Hinata has a confrontation with Ino about her relationship with Naruto which gets messy. In the end, their next target is selected and Team Zeta mobilises once more.
