Here is the second chapter for Osiris and the Warmind. A few things to go over.
Already done with the third chapter, but going to wait a bit before posting it, want to have a few already done before I post it.
To one reviewer: yes, The Curse of Osiris and Warmind DLC does take place at the same time in this fic, give or take a few days in between.
To another reviewer: I don't recall how important Titan was to both DLCs, unless you ae referring to the Season of the Deep. In that case, yes PTabs (may he rest in peace) did destroy Titan. But I have a plan to work around that. All I can say is, appearances can be deceiving.
Now onto the story!
Last City, Earth
Sol System
The skies around the Last City were abuzz. Jumpships containing Guardians coming from patrols or going out into the wilderness and beyond along with civilian transports entered the section of the wall around the city that served at the main base for Guardians.
Originally that base would be in to Tower overlooking the traveler and the city below it. But the Red war as its being called had reduced it to a desolate wreck where construction crews were working round the clock to repair. So, for now, the Guardians, and the vendors that worked alongside said Guardians were now located on a section of the Wall.
It was very beautiful view, the city below bustling and overlooking it all was the large white sphere with an orbit of a few bits and pieces of it. The source of Light and worship amongst the population; the Traveler.
"I thought it would be bigger." Said the bubbly red-haired, pink and white attired member of Team JNPR, Nora Valkyrie.
"It is pretty big." Replied her partner Lie Ren, or Ren to his friends, the black-haired green attired and R of said team.
"I feel sorry for it." Said the other redhead of team JNPR, Pyrrah Nikos. She had read documents regarding the Traveler. How it came to Earth, provided them with technological wonders and other otherworldly gifts. How it sacrificed itself to prevent its ancient rival; The Darkness, from destroying everything, giving humanity on Earth another chance via resurrecting the dead as Guardians. And if some were to be believed, sacrificed itself again to awaken and destroy Dominus Ghaul and end the Red War, referring to the many pieces of itself currently orbiting around the main body.
"HUHHHHRRRRHHAHH!" Said their blonde leader Jaune Arc as he emptied the contents of his stomach over the side, hoping his vomit did not hit anyone below. This was the second time he threw up due to his motion sickness.
The first time was when they traveled from the Vex Portal connecting Remnant to Earth. Afterwards they went to their rented rooms and deposited their cloths and other items of need. Then they traveled from their rooms to the Wall where they currently stand via civilian transports. Pyrrha patted the back of her friend/teammate/crush as he finished.
The reason they were here was that they were randomly selected to shadow a Guardian on either Earth or Remnant. They got the Earth selection.
At the end of the Red War, there was all sorts of reclamation efforts taking place on both planets. The Guardians stationed on Earth went all out to free the portal connecting the two worlds from the Red Legion. Those on Remnant went out and cleared out the Cabal Legions on Remnant. Most of them stationed in Beacon and what was left of Haven academy. The huntsmen academies were the most hit followed by the Kingdoms themselves.
After the fighting ended, and what remained of the Cabal Legions on Remnant scattered, rebuilding efforts began. Seeing that the academies would take far longer in rebuilding, Headmaster Ozpin, along with the headmaster of Shade and the newly instead Headmistress Winter Schnee had randomly selected students from all schools to be paired up with a random Guardian and shadow them for the foreseeable future with it counting towards their education with the potential bonus being graduating earlier and receiving their Huntsmen License earlier if they so desire. Not just students, but Specialists from Atlas and a few senior Huntsmen jumped at the chance. The former getting commendations and being promoted and the latter being handsomely paid to do so.
"So, who are we shadowing? Do you think we will be hunting sloths? Or would they be considered space sloths? Or maybe we must save the space sloths from evil space pirates who want to harvest their cute fur for some nefarious evil plan?! Ren, we must save the Space-sloths!" Nora ranted as she went and gripped Ren's head between her hands with a crazed look in her eyes.
Ren merely took this in stride and gentle released Nora's grip from his head, used to this sort of thing.
"Nora, pretty sure that the sloths on this world are exactly like the sloths on Remnant." He said reassuring his long time friend. "And secondly, we were told prior to arrival that the Guardian we will be shadowing during our stay will be announced…"
"Right now." Said a voice approaching them.
They recognized the purple pixie-cut hair, pale features of an Awoken and the garments she wore that signified her as a Warlock. Lux Syphoid of Fireteam Nero.
As she approached, their scrolls buzzed. Taking them out, it confirmed that they were indeed shadowing Lux.
"As cute as it would be to save furry animals from space pirates, we were going to be doing Patrols on Venus. Unfortunately, something came up." She spoke.
"What happened?" Pyrrha asked, the rest of the team more alert with even Nora being serious.
"No clue. Ikora Rey asked for me to get you four then go straight to her. Follow." She said gesturing.
They followed her across the main courtyard of the Wall, down some steps with a tree in the center. Past several frames sweeping the place and went to Wall Bazaar where there were a few stalls. Most of which were ramen and a few catering to New Monarchy. As they passed, ren recalled that during the red war, they found the bodies of the Faction heads dead, gunned down by Cabal Red Legion. He wondered who would lead those factions, but ended his thoughts when they came to a section of the Bazaar reserved for Ikora.
The Warlock Vanguard stood before a large ornery that when seen from the front, had the Traveler itself in the center. The Warlock vanguard turned to their approach.
"Guardian Syphoid, Team JNPR. Thank you for coming." She said welcoming the Warlock of Fireteam Nero and the huntsmen in training team. "I know originally, you were assigned to Venus. But, one of my Hidden Agents found this on Mercury." She said turning to that the five can see an inert Ghost with a unique design on her table. Lux recognized it immediately.
"Ah, Hellmouth!" She muttered as she transmatted a cigarette from her storage and lit it with her Solar Light.
Nora leaned in and oohed and awed at it. "Pretty. Who's that?" She said poking it with her finger.
"That is Sagira, Ghost to the Warlock Osiris." Ikora said to the four from Remnant.
Ren and Pyrrha wracked their brains about any information about Osiris from their history classes with Guardian Byf. Surprisingly it was Jaune who answered.
"He is a Warlock that was revived in the early days of the Last City. He trained under some of the most notably Iron Lords, but never actually joined their ranks. Named himself after Osiris an old god on Earth Pre-Golden Age in the region known as Egypt." He stopped when he received many a look from his teammates. Ren with a stoic look, Pyrrha and Nora with a combination of amusement and pride. "What? I paid attention to Byf's classes, and I like reading about mythology. Anyway, he was known for many titles; The Firey Phoenix, Former Warlock Commander…"
"The Zavala before Zavala and many other titles. Currently the person of worship for a bunch of zealots called The Cult of Osiris." Lux finished before blowing smoke. "and you want me and the four here to go to them?"
"I know your feelings about the Cult, but you must put it to the side for now." Ikora said, handing Sagira to Pyrrha who carefully handled it. "Osiris would not part with Sagira nor vice-versa without a good reason. And the cult of Osiris is your best lead to said reason." She looked to all five of them. "See that my former master is safe." She said sending them off as she went back to other Hidden reports that required her attention.
"So, you have a history with this cult?" Jaune asked Lux as they made their way.
Lux sighed as she finished her cancer stick and flicked it over the side as she walked. "You can say that."

Harriet Brie, member of the elite Ace Operatives or Ace-Ops for short was heading to a telecommunication building in the district. This was a building that was a fusion of the Guardians communications network and Remnant's CCT Tower. This was to help the people from Remnant who moved here to keep in touch with friends and family who stayed behind.
She, along with the other members of the Ace-Ops along with Specialist Penny Polendina were sent to Remnant via a random roster that was circulating among the Huntsmen Academies, military personnel, and active Huntsmen. They would be shadowing a Guardian on either Remnant or in Sol System. While many of those selected were doing it for money, a chance to graduate early or in the military's case; commendations and promotions. Her team and Penny were ordered to participate.
General James Ironwood of Atlas Academy and Military survived his ordeal during the closing of the Red War, but not without serious injuries. Broken ribs, internal injuries, overextended use of aura and semblance, fractured arm and an entire robotic limb shattered beyond repair. After several surgeries, he was recovering. Sure, he was in a coma, but recovering none the less.
Their interim General and headmistress Winter Schnee sent the Ace Ops and Miss Polendina here to show both Remnant and the Guardians that they held the line during the closing days of the Red War and despite it being a few weeks later, they were still ready to fight whatever came!
As she entered the building, she ignored the desk which helped rent booths and even rooms for those who wished not to publicly share their conversations with their fellow neighbors. Instead, she headed to a series of large computer screens that are as tall as an average person. Two were already occupied so she made her way to the third and began to type in her inquiry along with a description.

Harriet slammed a fist into a wall, making a small dent then made her way out of the building. Ever since the Traveler awoke and bathed Remnant in its Light, new Guardians have been found on the planet. Guardians who were once people who lived on Remnant and died on Remnant. Huntsmen, civilians, humans and faunus. And she was hoping to see if a former teammate, a friend of hers, was up and about as a Guardian. She knew from reports her team scoured through that once resurrected as a Guardian, said Guardian would have no memory of their past life. She knew this, but wanted some comfort that her friend was back, even when the latter has no memory of her.
This was the sixteenth time she looked them up and nothing to show for it.
Leaving the building, she activated her semblance and sped to the group waiting in front of the courtyard to their place of residence.
"You're nearly late." Clover Ebi said before the Guardian that they were shadowing approached. A large Titan Exo whose mechanical frame painted steel-grey with red decals on his cheeks. They recognized him immediately as one of three Guardians that not only assisted in the death of the Vex Mind a year back, but the hero of the Vytal festival and the reclamation of the Last City during the Red war. Prometheus-23 of Fireteam Nero.
"Ace-Operatives and Specialist Penny Polendina reporting for duty sir!" Clover stood at attention and saluted along with his teammates who followed suit. Among Atlas soldiers, Titans were greatly respected. Penny simply bounced up and down in excitement. Clover gently pressed his hand on her head which made her stop.
"At ease, no need to stand on ceremony." Prometheus-23 said as he gave an idle salute in turn. They then stood at rest.
"I have read up on your strengths, semblances, and specialties. From Elm's heavy ordinance knowledge, to Harriet's scouting abilities due to her semblance." He said gesturing to each operative. "The five of you along with Miss Polendina have been instrumental during the Red War. That is why you all have been chosen for this." He said gesturing to his Ghost Pan. The small ghost displayed a holographic display of a red planet. "We will be going to Mars for a routine Patrol for the first day. These will range from Eliminate Target to Scans to Resource Collecting. Afterwards we will then go and scout out old Cabal bases in the Freehold Region." Prometheus explained as Pan enlarged the map showing where they will be going. A majestic city of Earth's Golden age buried beneath the sands of Mars.
The Ace-Ops stared in a combination of awe, sadness, and disappointment. Awe in Penny and Marrows expression. Sadness with Elm, Zeke and Clover seeing how desolate it became. And disappointment in Harriet's opinion.
"Barring any unforeseen circumstances, this should only take a week tops. Any questions?" He asked. Seeing none, he asked his own. "Now which of you are capable of flying?" He asked. All of them raised their hands as one.
"After the Vex Invasion, General Ironwood…" Clover stopped as his face turned a bit sad at his comatose commander. He then continued. "General Ironwood issued all soldiers to train in simulations in fighting against Vex, Cabal, all other sorts of enemies in the system along with training how to drive Sparrows and operated single and multiple seater ships."
"Clover and I have the most experience amongst our team regarding flying." Marrow said. "Good, you, Clover, and Zeke will fly the hawk VTOL while Harriet, Elm and Penny ride in the Jumpship with me." Prometheus said as he tossed the keys to said VTOL to the two. Clover casually raised his hand and the keys landed right in his palm. Marrow looked at his team leader. "You used your semblance, didn't you?" He asked accusingly.
"I have no idea what you're talking about." Clover said, subtly deactivating his semblance.
An hour later, three ships left Earths atmosphere. A Vector-Class Jumpship painted black and red followed closely by a Hawk VTOL went in one direction and entered FTL. While an Echo-Class jumpship painted aqua went in the direction of the Sun where mercury resided.
See you next time!
