A much younger Jonah woke up in the middle of the night, he wasn't sure why but he suddenly felt like waking up. He looked around and walked to his door as he could hear his parents arguing close by, so in his pajamas, he walked over and stood there.

"How do you know?", she silently screamed at her husband as he sighed.

"I don't… but.", it felt like forever until his father had noticed him. "Hey there, son."

"Where are you going?", Jonah asked curiously as he looked at the man, not his father... Hammerhead stood at the door. He couldn't hear a benign he said however... like it was muffled.

The man stared daggers at the man with a scarred forehead for the briefest of seconds before softening his gaze when looking at his son. He approached him and got onto a knee to be at eye level with him. "Jonah. I'm going to be gone for a while, okay?"

The younger Jonah felt as if he had lived through this before, tilted his head. "When are you coming back?"

The man looked away from his son before taking a deep breath. "I don't know. But until then, you're the man in the house. Alright?", Jonah nodded as his father gave his son one last hug and whispered something into his ear.

"With great power, comes the ability to punish those who use it to prey on the weak. Remember those words"

Jonah suddenly woke up with the aches and pains he felt when he fought Rhino... albeit not as bad, but still actively annoying for him to deal with. "Where am I again?", he thought to himself as he had no clue where he was or even how he got there. "Nope. Mind is drawin a blank."

It was just then he quickly sat up realizing he was still in his suit... half of it, his mask was gone along with his combat gloves, boots, vest, rope and even his gun. All that he found lying on the floor stacked on top of each other in a neat pile.

"You could've told me earlier y'know.", Jonah didn't flinch as he looked over at Maya who stared at him with a sad and disappointed look. "I mean... this does seem like something important you'd tell your friend. Does Hobie know?"

"Uh... no.", Jonah says as he forced himself to sit on the edge of her bed. He felt around his face and noticed there were bandages again. "How did I get here? I kinda blacked out while I was swinging-"

"I'm very sure you can piece that together, you're not that dumb.", Maya comments as she rolled her eyes. She closed her door and leaned against the wall. "How'd you get your powers anyways?"

"I uh... I was in an old abandoned subway tunnel with Hobie, when I left I got this weird spider bite.", Jonah says as he could remember that small pinching pain. "Next thing I know, I wake up and I can't even stare outside because it was just so... bright. Then next thing I know, my hands were sticking on a wall, I can then I can hear stuff from super far away."

"Really? Okay then, prove it.", Maya says with a smug smile.

"Okay.", Jonah shrugged. "Your neighbors wife is yammering on about how his sister sucks for spreading a rumor about her cheating."

Maya nodded. "Okay, I believe you. So uh... how'd you get those things on your wrist. I also... don't wanna know who you stole that vest from."

"Yeah you don't wanna know.", the arachnid nods with a clear memory of how he stole the Kevlar vest. "I was fighting this guy who could control electricity at Oscorp right? Well before I could actually deck him in his face, I sort of stole a pair of prototype high pressure devices that shoot out this weird silk thing... I just call them web shooters."

"And they didn't question where it went?"

"Nah apparently it was a project they planned on shelving eventually, or something.", Jonah scratched his head. "All I remember is this white woman telling me all about this nonsense of spiders, I didn't listen."

"That sounds like it would be... extremely important information."

"I know."

Maya rubbed her temples before just letting out a small chuckle. "I'm so sorry if this sounds rude but... why even be a hero? Or I mean, I never thought being a hero would be your first thought."

"It wasn't, but I realized what I can do can not only benefit myself but other people so I decided; why not?", Jonah says as he walked around the bed and began putting on the rest of his suit.

Maya looked at him up and down as a few ideas sparked in her head. "This is just gonna be between us right?", Jonah asked as he had started slipping on his vest.

"Yes, when have you ever known me to spill a secret?", Maya crossed her arms almost offended.

"Hmm. Good point.", Jonah says as he slips on his mask and adjust his goggles, Maya just let out a sigh. "What?"

"If you're gonna go out and fight crime, at least fix your goggles or get something else.", Maya says as she could see it was barely hanging on by a thread and was ready to shatter.

"Hmm... yeah I should do that. Anyways.", Bullet Spider says as he leapt out the open window and began swinging away.

Maya looked at the window as she just nodded. "Yep, still not the weirdest thing I've seen"

As Bullet Spider swung through the city, feeling slightly more refreshed than usual he pulled out his burner phone once he got a call. "This is Bullet Spider speaking, to what to I owe the pleasure?"

["Never ever talk like that again.", Yuri sternly said as she let out a sigh. ["The documents about Hammerhead are taking a lot longer to get down subtly, how long do you think you can wait."]

"As long as it takes"

["Understood-hmm?"] Yuri's voice was suddenly distant and he couldn't hear her clearly through the old phone. ["Sorry, gotta run."]

"If duty calls, duty calls.", Bullet Spider says as he landed ontop of a flagpole, perfectly balancing as she had ended the call. "Wow these goggles are fucking annoying.", the wall crawler took off his goggles as he ran his fingers against the cracks. "Ballistic goggles my ass."

Reluctantly slipping on his goggles again, he swung off once again. For a brief moment he did a few spinning maneuvers as two capsules were sent flying out of his web shooters before he shot another web line and swung off.

That was when he heard; "please leave me alone."

Bullet Spider quickly turned and used two buildings to slingshot his way as he could hear the sounds of children in a struggle. Finally landing on where it was the loudest, he saw a group of taller boys slapping a homemade wind turbine onto the floor and breaking it.

Bullet Spider backflipped and landed right behind them. "Hi there kids.", he says with a smile under his mask. The other boys ran past him afraid as he walked over to the boy. "Hey there little fella."

"You're the Spider-Man!", the bespectacled child said in awe as the Bullet Spider picked up his science project.

"No way, this is a wind turbine. You made this?", Bullet Spider expressed with genuine surprise as the child nodded. Adjusting the nozzle size, he sprayed webbing around the fan attachment to the rest of the project. "Way cooler than anything I made, c'mon kid, I'll walk you home."

"Okay.", the child said as he and the taller man walked out of the alleyway back onto the sidewalk.

"What's your name kid?"

"I'm Peter ."

"Nice to meet you, Pete. I'm Bullet Spider."

The two had a rather nice conversation, Peter asking questions about what powers he has/doesn't have and Bullet Spider simply entertaining the child's imagination at times. It all ended once Jorge ran forward, waving goodbye as he entered a townhouse.

"Well he seemed nice.", Bullet Spider says as he shot a web line from his web shooter and hoisted himself up. Swinging off into the distance as he just felt... happy with himself, for some reason. That was when he suddenly got a call again, quickly shoving his burner phone out, he caught it and answered it. "Yuh huh."

["Normally I wouldn't disclose this information, however, we're far beyond that line.", Yuri's voice sounds out as there was multiple conversations happening in the background. ["Very recently we've been sent various paintings, these paintings have led us to the locations of several homicides."]

"Repeat that."

["For the past couple of months we've been receiving paintings that lead to the scene of a homicide. Young, old, you name it. We call him Sin Eater. Dunno why but it caught on in the districts so, whatever.", Yuri let out a sigh at the ridiculous name. ["He keeps leaving cryptic messages, sometimes it's just a Bible verse."]

Bullet Spider stopped swinging and landed on a light pole. "Have you tracked where he could be."

["No. But so far he's been confined to New York, we've also heard reports of someone talking in the old Institution in Brooklyn.", papers were heard being flipped through as she clicked her tongue. ["Saint Estes Home For Boys."]

"When you say young and old... how young are we talking?"

Yuri was silent for a moment, she attempted to say something but couldn't even force the words out. ["To be honest... it's best you don't know."] That was all he needed.

"I'll see what I can do.", Bullet Spider says as he could feel this unexplainable anger building in him. Before Yuri could even protest, he hung up, making careful consideration to not crush his only burner phone as he swung off the building.

Bullet Spider was perched nearby the old institution, the remnants of it being just burned and rotting wood as if it had been gutted by a sudden burst of fire. He sat there, waiting, patiently waiting as he listened intently for something.

That's when he heard it: "Masks get more attention... I'll be sure to show them."

It was a raspier and deeper voice he heard, narrowing his eyes under his cracked goggles he immediately swung over and through what's left of a window. His eyes allowed him a clear look at the man who stood in front of the bodies of half eaten animals and a teddy bear, he wore a pair of dark overalls, construction boots and gloves and a dark long sleeved shirt with what looked like a sack next to him.

The Sin Eater jolted in surprise and grabbed a hunting knife, with a sadistic grin he rushed over and raised the knife. "I could take him to the police.", Bullet Spider thought to himself as he grabbed the incoming hand of the man and tore it off with ease. "With the amount of bodies he's racked up. He'd get life in jail."

The Sun Eater stumbled back with a pained scream as he looked at the bleeding stumpy that once had his hand. The man breathed heavily as his smile was gone, his eyes wide and wild.

He backed up before he was smacked into a wall with a powerful backhand. Bullet spider was instantly on him again as his talons poked out. "But he doesn't deserve life anywhere.", he claws at the mans bare face before grabbing his leg and slamming him down into the floor with enough force to leave blood.

As the man screamed in pain and agony, the only thing on Bullet Spider's mind was every single life he had taken. Yuri had said young and old, forcing his mind to imagine every single agonizing outcome. "Everything was taken from them. Every birthday party. Every bedside story. Every day at the beach!"

The man coughed out blood as Bullet Spider lifted him up before kneeing him in the stomach. "Wai-Wait!"

"Because of him, a father won't teach his son how to drive. A mother won't be able to see her son off to his first date. A father won't be able to be with his wife at their daughters wedding. Every single story they could tell, every struggle, all of it was gone. All of that…", Bullet Spider as he took a better looked at the man that appeared to have bright red hair, a freckles face and a tooth gap. "Because what? Recognition? Bullshit."

"St-Stop… no more…", the man says with sweat mixing into his blood covered face as the barrel of a gun was pointed at his chin. "No more-"

BANG!!

The sound of a shell falling to the ground was accompanied by the sound of the man falling limp, a bullet hole traveling through his head. Bullet Spider grabbed the shell and tucked it into his pocket.

"What I want is for him to die in terror. To feel the same terror that that mother and son felt during their last moments.", Bullet Spider thinks to himself as his claws retracted, he put the safety on and put his gun back in its holster, readjusting the rope on his belt. "I hope you rot."
