A black volvo slowly pulled into a narrow drive way in a neighborhood down in Queens, Curt Connors yawned as he exited his car and locked it behind him. "What a day.", he slowly took off his lab coat.
Walking up the patio, Curt walked through his door after unlocking it and slammed it shut. Hanging up his lab coat he took a deep breath at the nice little living room he had. "I need to get that suit off of Harry soon, or else Doctor Magnus will blow a fuse and probably kill one of us."
Ever since Elsa Brock left the project and Conrad became the new lead, Curt hated every single day he had to be down there. "Maybe I'll finally use my vacation days, Martha did say she always wanted to visit Japan."
Curt stopped talking to himself as he looked around… he heard something, a loud thud. "Billy, are you home?", he looked at his phone and saw a text from his son reading that he'd be staying at a friends house that night. "Maybe it's Martha-"
He quickly took out a nine millimeter revolver from a drawer the moment he heard another thud. "Too heavy… even then, she's still taking care of her mother right?"
It was just then he heard a low, guttural growl followed by heavy breaths. "C-Con-Con-nors…", Curt quickly spun around and pulled the trigger, only to be smacked away by a red tendril with what looked to be bone-like spikes.
"Dear god.", Curt's eyes widened as he felt this primal fear emerge from the deepest corners of his body.
The creature that stood before him was a tall, lanky creature with its body consisting of a melting red substance, tendrils whipped wildly and clustered around his back. It's head was infused with its neck, having fiery yellow eye and a burning yellow marking on its chest. "C-C-CONNORS!"
"A black protoplasmic suit huh?", Hobie looked at Jonah still wearing his spider suit, who was yet again sitting on a wall as Hobie had a half eaten burger next to him. "Hmmm... can't say I've heard of it when I was working with Kingpin since he and Norman had an alliance going on."
Jonah was visibly surprised at the fact that both Kingpin and Norman Osborn were in league with each other. "Interesting, I'll keep note of that. Anyways, can't you just hack into the Oscorp servers?"
Hobie lifted up a finger as he took a big bite of his burger, nodding at the flavor as he placed it back down. "Well, I could, and I have but they've changed their passcodes and reinforced their security. So I'll have a much harder time to get through it. Even then, information like that is probably on an entirely different server."
"Shit.", Jonah hissed as he scratched his cheek. "How's my upgrade going along?"
"Oh it's actually going pretty nicely, I can probably get it done in like, three days? That's if I only focus on the gun and it's bullets, but I'm also working on an app.", Hobie says as he pulled up the image of an icon showing off a simplistic version of his mask. "I dunno what to call it but it hacks into RFID signals, same ones police uses."
"How long will that take-"
"Nah don't even worry about it."
"Dude when you put it like that I'm gonna worry about it. Like why shouldn't I worry about it? The fuck are you doing man?"
"Okay it's a poor choice of words let it go.", Hobie says as he spun around in his chair rapidly. "But still, that suit he's wearing must be more off the books than anything I've ever heard of and I've been around for a while."
"So, a complete unknown huh?"
"Guess so.", Hobie states with a shrug as he turned around in his seat. "Anyways, I'll get back to this and you get back to whatever problem you're dealing with."
Jonah groaned at the thought of having to figure out get more web fluid, slipping his mask on, he slipped through the entrance as he catapulted himself into the air. "Oscorps been working on a weird looking biosuit for god knows how long and Harry's the one who's using it. Wonder how his dear old dad is reacting to it."
Bullet Spider perched onto a fire escape as he looked down to see Harry as Dark Spider tearing through a speeding car and ripping out the inhabitants, a black substance securing them in cocoons as he effortlessly stopped it.
The Dark Spider looked up and waved at him. "Though... I guess it's not too bad, I hope.", the scarlet arachnid didn't bother waving and just shot a web line at a building, swinging off at high speeds as Dark Spider just shrugged.
As he swung, he felt a buzzing in his pocket, pulling out his burner phone he answered his call. "Yes?"
{"Spider-Man, I need you to-"}
"Captain, it's Bullet Spider. You know how it's used in a negative connotation."
{"Fine. Bullet Spider, I need you to check out a house in Forest Hills."}
"Okay, what house anyways?", Bullet Spider quickly changed direction and began swinging towards queens, catching himself on two poles and slingshotting himself across the river.
{"20 Ingram Street. We got reports of some... thing, running around the street. I'd ask my boys to go over but we got our hands full."}
"Of what? Donuts or lawsuits of your guys assaulting a black person?"
{"Okay, fuck you, and for your information we were called to Oscorp. Some sort of security breach led to some... massacre, I could smell the blood from the outside."}
"Oh, yikes.", Bullet Spider winced as he could understand hating the smell of blood, may it be fresh to dry. "I'll leave you to it then.", he states as he hung up and continued to swing the moment he was near death.
Popping his talons, he caught himself on the metal pillars holding up a train track. "20 Ingram Street, 20 Ingram Street... oh it should be there.", he leapt off the metal beam and caught himself on a light pole, forcefully swinging off and landing ontop of the roof.
"What the fuck is this?", Bullet Spider cocked his head as he was met with the sight of clothes on the front yard, some further than most but still in the general vicinity. He also noticed tire marks burned into the concrete drive way. "Someone was in a hurry."
He landed on the soft grass and immediately noticed the soft shine of what looked like broken glass. Tracing it right back to the front window. "Okay...", he leapt through the window and landed in the living room.
"Holy fucking shit.", Bullet Spider was genuinely surprised at the sight, wood was completely torn through, furniture torn to shreds by almost pitch black shards that slowly began to wilt away. "Can't be the Lizard, no way a lizard that big could get to Forest Hills without anyone noticing. Electro? No... dude is being monitored at all times. Definitely ain't Shocker. I know for a goddamn fact Rhino can't fit his big ass in here. Can't be that Daredevil, haven't seen the dude in months. So... what the hell happened?!"
Despite barely glossing over it, he noticed the kitchen was in a similar state. Cabinets broken apart, counters snapped in half, food spilt from the fridge... all except for this single family photo. "Well well well, looks like you got lucky... unless.", he attempted to lift it up, only to find that it was connected to something.
He stared at a blank wall, there was a large blue case next to that empty space. Tuning his hearing, he tapped on the wall... it sounded almost metallic. "Wonder what would happen if I were to say...", he shot out a web rope and tugged on the frame, once it was face down a wooden board behind it opened up to reveal a hidden keypad. "Huh... secret entrance."
With a smirk under his mask, the spider quickly jammed his fingers into the metal wall and forced it to slide open just enough for him to slide in. The secret door quickly closing shut a second after, stretching slightly, he walked down the stairs made of cold, hard stone. "Quite the secretive guy- oh hello there."
Bullet Spider, once he turned to the left to step down a much shorter flight of stairs, he saw a fully stocked laboratory. It was hard for him to notice a large monitor with a quadruple split screen, the most jarring thing was the difference between upstairs and down in the lab.
"Some kind of panic room? Must've escaped here to hide from whatever the thing that did this.", Bullet Spider noted as he looked at the screen, it had a red flashing light. He slowly approached it and clicked at a small red dot on the upper left of the screen, being met with an unfamiliar face.
["I do not have a lot of time here, so I will make this brief."] the man looked horrified, blood leaking from his forehead and onto the desk, which had dried by then. ["My name is Doctor Curtis Connors, and I may have helped to create some... monster. We were trying to create biosuits made of some organic compound, however we accidentally created an unstable creature. Because of the previous test, we decided to designate it as Carnage. And now, after a horrible oversight on my end by giving Harry Osborn the suit, Doctor Conrad Magnus now has Carnage... I'm not exactly sure if it's still him or if it's operating on what's left of his brain."]
"Conrad Magnus?...", the name seemed familiar to Bullet Spider, he couldn't place a finger on it but it felt as if he heard that name before.
["Anyways. My theory is that the suit, or maybe if he's still in there, is targeting a few people that have wronged him. One of which is me, another could be Doctor Elsa Brock, another being an Osborn... and god forbid his ex wife. Look, whatever you do... run away, don't even try to fight it. Just get out as fast as you can. Something that I will do right now."]
Bullet Spider proceeded to watch him go off screen, the sound of a door being slammed shut as the screen went to a sort of panic room. Then he exited that, crawling out of the back entrance of the basement.
A moment later, Connors ran to his car and jumped into it right as Carnage leapt through the living room window and let out a horrific scream. It attempted to jump on the car, only for it to rapidly back away from the driveway and speed off.
What happened next was nothing sort of a massacre, neighbors exited their house to the commotion only to be... absorbed. He stuck his tendrils into them and began sucking away at their bodies, becoming wrinkled bags of skin before all that was left was simply their clothing.
Bullet Spider felt disgusted at the sight as he looked at the door leading to the operating room, which appeared more like a vault door than anything. Ripping it off it's hinges, he stormed out of the basement and crawled onto the surface.
Scooping up two rocks, he held them in his hand as he went back to the front yard. "Conrad Magnus... yeah, same dude that was on trail for domestic violence before I got my powers. Now I remember.", with the much needed material he has for their next encounter, he pulled out his phone and called Hobie.
["Yess?"]
"Put on your best fit, you're helping me with this.", Bullet Spider says as he popped his neck.
["Huh- why?"]
"Just do it, we're heading to Empire States University to protect someone. Unfortunately it's free but-"
["Im not in, fuck you."]
"Okay fuck you, asshole."
["Okay, bad joke, I'm sorry. Anyways, I'll meet you there. Just fill me in once we get there."]
"I'll-", Bullet Spider stopped as he could hear heavy breathing behind him. "We'll talk later.", he says as he hung up and swiftly spun around with his talons out only to be back handed into a car across the streets.
"A-ABOMINATION!", what used to be Conrad Magnus roared angrily as he leapt at the spider.
"Oh that's rich coming from you, jackass!", Bullet Spider exclaimed as he ripped off the car door and threw it at Carnage. The door sliced through Carnage's arm, causing it to let out a scream in agony before the arm reattached itself, landing on all fours, it roared once again.
"Considering there's not much of a guy in there, don't blame me for what happens next.", Bullet Spider says with a grin under his mask as he attached a web rope to one of the rocks and then sticking it on the other.
"A-A-BOMINAT-ION!", Carnage roared angrily as its back tendrils began thrashing wildly.
"You said that already.", Bullet Spider tilted his head as he backflipped away from a barrage of black, bone-like shards that tore through the car behind him. Carnage shot a tendril at him only for Bullet Spider to grab onto it and heave it forward, spin kicking the creature backwards right back into Connors' house.
"Ew, it's like sticking my hand in molasses", Bullet Spider cringed at the sensation as Carnage leapt at him at a frightening speed, using his accelerated vision he barely dodged a black claw as he countered with his makeshift meteor hammer. Slamming the rocks against its head before delivering a powerful roundhouse to its abdomen.
"A-B-BOMINATION!", the creature roared once again before grabbing Bullet Spider and threw him with so much force, he crashed through multiple houses before colliding with a car driving down the road, causing it to go off-road.
Bullet Spider coughed violently, grabbing onto his neck as he stumbled onto his feet. "Okay... stronger than I thought he was.", using his vision and hearing, he managed to notice that the beast had fled.
"ABOMINATION!", Carnage screamed as it suddenly appeared and grabbed him by the head, slamming him onto the asphalt and throwing him onto the train tracks above.
"I GET IT! SHUT THE FUCK UP!", Bullet Spider covered his ears as the train rapidly approached, jumping off the tracks before swinging right back towards Carnage who attempted to tackle him out of the air, only for the creature to get a drop kick through its head.
He tugged on one of its tendrils and slammed it into a fence. "Ugh...", the spider groaned as he rubbed his head hearing a slight ringing in his ears. "Hits like a fucking semi truck."
"K-KILL YOU! Kill. YOU!", Carnage repeated the simple words as best as it could as it lunged at him again, Bullet Spider prepared to dodge it only to have it be launched away by a thick black tentacle.
"Uh thank god."
"Sup man.", Dark Spider says with a confused look as he pointed at the monstrosity as it seemingly erupted in tendrils before reforming into a humanoid form. "What the fuck is that?"
"O-SBORN. IS. LAST!", Carnage forced out the words as it leapt into the air, clearing the train tracks and sprinting up a near by building before leaping again.
"Let's go. I'll explain later.", Bullet Spider sighed as he attached his webbing to two light poles and launched himself forward as Dark Spider propelled himself right after.
The two swung through downtown queens as the creature clawed its way across, clearing the river, Dark Spider threw Bullet across after before joining the two as he propelled himself again. Carnage hissed as he leapt from car to car, completely obliterating them as he landed. "So, uh, what the hell is that thing?!"
It had completely flew over Bullet Spider that he had to explain what Carnage was. "Uh, Oscorp Scientist with an inferiority complex and a history of domestic violence got his hands on some sort of unstable biosuit."
"Ohhh! That's why my suit told me to go to queens, I thought I was going crazy!", Dark Spider states, completely catching Bullet Spider by surprise by what he casually stated.
"I'm sorry, it TOLD you?"
"Yeah, I think the suit has some kind of artificial intelligence. It's awesome.", Dark Spider shrugs as the progenitor spider was genuinely shocked at how nonchalant he was about a suit actually speaking to him.
"Whatever, let's just make it to ESU before it does.", Bullet Spider prayed to whatever actually cared that it would just get lost on its way.
Elsa Brock pulled away from a microscope as she drank her ninth cup of coffee of that night specifically, her hair had been tied up in a more neat bun as she had a lab coat resting on her chair. "Y'know... maybe I will take some internships. This is way more taxing than I thought it would be."
Elsa stood up as she unfurled her long blond hair, looking at her empty cups and sighed. "Maybe a break is in order, I'll just head home for the night. This was exhausting.", she yawns as she picks up her keys from her lab coat.
What she failed to notice was a red creature made of what looked like bloodied strands of muscle was crawling out of a vent, hissing at the sight of her.
