Chapter Eight: Nightmare
"Is she alive?!" A voice shouted. It was Tally's. Alessia felt her heart drop at the sound of her tone in her voice.
"We can't lose her too!" Abigail's voice shouted in the room so loudly it echoed.
"You three need to leave. We are doing everything we can!" Anacostia's voice carried across the room. "Leave! I will come to you once this is done." She added. Alessia could see her fiery friend leave. She was breathing hard.
"Izadora…" Alessia spoke softly before she went back out.
"Get Izadora in here! Goddess knows we need her." Cornel Wick shouted.
"What happened?" Izadora's voice came as she was now on the other side of the bed.
"Debris. Got her good in the chest and head. She could feel her head pounding from pain as warm liquid was slowly dripping from her chest area.
"We need to link with her to heal her while she's lucid." Wick spoke. That's when Alessia passed out again. Feeling a warm sensation as her chest began to feel better. The pain slowly fades away. She was still in and out of it.
"Izadora?" Alessia asked softly. Feeling her hand grabbed as her eyes could barely make out the sight in front of her. Her vision was blurry.
"I'm here." Izadora's voice carried to her ears. Her hand was squeezed gently and kissed. "Rest now my dear. You need it." Izadora spoke. Alessia felt the Necro touch her forehead as she was out again.
There was beeping nearby. Alessia couldn't make out the sound. Her eyes were closed. She was mumbling nonsense.
"There were innocent people on that truck." Tally's voice spoke.
"Tally, the people on that truck were Spree." Abigail's voice woke her up. "We wouldn't have been ordered to take out a truck full of hostages." Abigail added.
"I know." Tally spoke softly. "But.."
"Forget it."
"Tal, what did you see?" Raelle asked.
"It's more what I felt." Tally spoke. "They didn't want to die. And I told Anacostia."
"She didn't care?" Raelle asked.
"She said her intel came from General Alder herself. And that there were no hostages." Tally added.
"I believe you Tal." Raelle spoke.
"She wouldn't send us into a mission without all the facts!" Abigail shouted.
"Abigail, she sent us in before we even finished Basic!" Raelle shouted back.
"If you don't stop bickering. I swear to Goddess that I will windstrike your asses." Alessia groaned as she sat up. Holding her head as it was pounding.
"You're awake!" Tally shouted and hugged Alessia tightly.
"Tal, I hurt." Alessia weakly spoke. Feeling her friend let go.
"We thought we lost you." Abigail spoke. Alessia blinked a few times and looked at them. All three of them were hugging her now. She had just realized that she was in the infirmary. Watching them pull back. Alessia frowned.
"What happened?" She asked, looking at them. They were silent.
"What do you remember?" Raelle asked.
"I remember us grinding the truck and then nothing." Alessia spoke.
"Libba's dead." Abigail spoke. Alessia didn't hear her. She looked at Abigail. Glaring at her. Feeling her heartbeat rise. Hearing the machine matching her heart's rhythm.
"Don't." Alessia spoke with a warning in her voice.
"She's dead. Libba's gone!" Abigail repeated. Hearing the door open as Colonel Wick and Izadora came in. Alessia felt sick all of sudden. Grabbing the waste basket and felt the rough burning bile empty from her throat. Coughing and gasping as her body let another one out. Gasping for air again as she put the basket back down.
"Alder is giving a statement soon and the funeral is right after." Tally spoke. Alessia felt her eyes sting with tears and fought them back. She was in a yellow green tank top and black shorts.
"She needs her rest ladies." Wick spoke.
"No. I'm fine." Alessia spoke as she started taking off the tubes and anything connecting to the machine. She stood up and wobbled a little.
"You need rest." Izadora's voice spoke. She felt calm at the voice and shook her head.
"No. I need to go. Get ready as well." Alessia frowned. Tally helped her walk.
Alessia was in her blues while watching Alder speak on the televisions.
"They chose to execute those hostages and our troops suffered a further loss in the ensuing battle." Alder spoke. Alessia grabbed Tally's hand and squeezed it. Alder was lying. "So, now we must rebuild and continue our fight to end the Spree once and for all. A blessing on the families of those who lost loved ones to this tragedy. A blessing on this great nation. I will take questions now." Alder spoke. Alessia could feel the anger coming from Tally as she was rubbing her friend's shoulder.
"Alder lied." Tally spoke.
"Quiet down Tally." Alessia spoke as she sat down with a cup of tea. Her head was still pounding rather badly now. Wincing and she rested her forehead on her hand.
"Shouldn't you check in with Wick for that headache?" Abigail asked. Alessia shook her head and sighed. "There is always collateral damage Tal." Abigail added.
I don't think this kind of thing will get better."
"We were used."
"Tally."
"No!" Tally shouted. Alessia sighed.
"I will get my head checked. I'll catch up." Alessia spoke as they nodded. She took her leave and frowned. Rubbing the side of her head. It was making her body take a toll as she made her way down the hallway. The infirmary was not far. She pushed the door open and saw Wick speaking to Izadora. Alessia blushed a little and took a deep breath. She walked forward and stumbled a little.
"You alright?" Wick's voice came. Alessia nodded while taking another breath.
"My unit got onto me. Said I should get my headache checked out." Alessia spoke softly. Wick waved her hand to motion her to sit. She did. Feeling a hand on her shoulder. It was the Necro teacher. Feeling a pair of hands on her head as she closed her eyes. Feeling warmth rose inside as she let out a shuddered breath. Her headache was now gone.
"Thank you." Alessia spoke quietly.
"No worries. Just check in with me next time before you just leave." Wick warned her.
"My apologies. It won't happen again." Alessia spoke as she stood up and gave the Fixer a bow.
"Leaving already?" Wick asked. Alessia looked up and nodded.
"Yes, my unit is being summoned by General Bellweather." Alessia spoke. She could see Izadora giving her a curious look. She turned and took her leave.
"Ladies, I am a very busy woman." Petra spoke. Abigail told her mother about the mission.
"Alder lied about the hostages." Tally spoke. Alessia nodded her head lightly.
"Tell me more." Petra asked.
"I saw the hostages." Tally spoke as she went into details. "We executed them." Tally added. Alessia knew that Petra was not caring about what happened. She frowned at this. Her heart was mourning for her friend.
"I would focus your energies on finishing strong before graduation." Petra spoke.
"The base has been infiltrated." Raelle spoke. Alessia's eyes went wide and looked at her.
"By whom?" Petra asked.
"The Spree." Raelle replied. "Scylla."
"Alder has her in custody on base." Abigail spoke.
"At Fort Salem?" Petra asked.
"Correct. Somewhere in the Necro facility." Raelle spoke. Alessia felt her heart sink at this. That means Izadora knew about this.
"They are interrogating her. That's how they found out about Baylord Auto." Raelle added.
"Ladies. You are dismissed." Petra spoke as they all turned to leave.
"Can we not trust anyone?" Alessia asked as they looked at her.
"No. Abigail's mom was the only one. We can't even trust Anacostia. Or anyone close to Alder in that matter." Abigail spoke.
"No more secrets." Tally spoke. Alessia nodded her head lightly at this.
"Come on. Time to go." Abigail spoke as they marched out of the building. It was time. Alessia felt her heart pounding. She was not ready. Seeing the cars lined up to bring them in. Alessia was silent as were her sisters. Seeing a large cemetery in sight. She frowned. There were so many buried there. She had never seen so many buried in one place. She sighed and felt Tally squeeze her hand.
"There are so many dead here." Alessia spoke with a frown.
"It's war." Abigail spoke again. Alessia glared at her.
"We're here." Raelle spoke. It was not a long drive. She sighed. She was not ready to say goodbye yet. She followed Abigail out.
"Are you Alessia?" A man's voice spoke. She stopped and nodded. She was handed a small potted tree. "Set this on her coffin. It's only fitting." He spoke.
"Shouldn't it be a family member?" Alessia asked.
"Libba considered you family. Her sister." The man spoke. Alessia nodded. Feeling her eyes water again as she fought against it.
"Come on spruce girl." Abigail spoke. Alessia smiled weakly as she followed Abigail blindly. Several white chairs were lined up. Alessia's breath shuddered again as she walked forward. She saw Libba's mother looking over her shoulder. Frowning as they saw each other. She walked forward slowly as Tally had her arm around her shoulder. She stopped by the coffin. Sniffling as she placed the plant in the Scourge. Taking a step back as she folded her hands in front of her. Her head bowed. She hadn't realized she was the last one standing there. Feeling someone touch her shoulder.
"Come. Time to be seated." Anacostia spoke.
Alessia nodded her head as she was guided away from the eyes were watering again. She was stopped as a hand gently grabbed her arm. She looked into Libba's mom's eyes.
"Please. Sit here." She spoke.
"It's for family." Alessia weakly spoke.
"And close friends of the family. Your seat is here." She spoke weakly. Alessia nodded. She turned and met the familiar dark brown eyes as she moved to sit down. She kept her head bowed as Abigail walked up to the podium.
"First, I would like to extend my condolences to the Swythe family." Abigail began. "Service. Duty. Honor. She answered the highest calling. I'm sorry. I can't." Abigail spoke. Alessia looked up. "Elizabeth Kane Swythe. Was the girl I hated the most in the world." Abigail spoke. Alessia scoffed at this. Feeling her hand grabbed and squeezed. Alessia moved her fingers as they were now intertwined. She could feel Izadora caressing her hand with her thumb. There were whispers among the crowd.
"Hating Swythes is mother's milk to a Bellweather. Our hate for each other went back and forth a long time before we were even America. And for what? Tradition? Competition? Well, I fell right in. I pulled her hair. Made her eat a dead pigeon." She spoke. This made Alessia squeeze Izadora's hand tightly. She could feel the brown eyes on her before looking back up front.
"I chewed her men and spit them back up at her feet. Called her names so foul that would even wake the dead. And now, she's gone. We are here to fight another day. Libba Swythe. You are the stone that sharpened my blade. The storm on my sunny day. For that, I am grateful. May the Goddess bless you and bless this country that you serve so well." Abigail spoke as she finished. Alessia was stomping her feet along with everyone else. She sniffled again and fought back the tears. Wiping her cheeks to make sure she had gotten any. People were now standing up to leave. For some reason, she did not want to let go of the Necro's hand. She didn't have a choice as Izadora was hugging Libba's mother. Alessia watched as she was then hugged next. She returned the hug.
"Thank you. For being the sister my little girl always wanted." Libba spoke. Alessia nodded her head and frowned. Feeling the tears building up again. She was going to miss all the fun times she had with Libba. The late nights they spent together talking about Abigail. How to get back at her. Alessia was always against this but she was going to miss helping her with her Seeds. Everything. Feeling a hand on her lower back as she was guided away. Izadora was leading her back to the cars. She gently leaned against the Necro teacher.
"Alessia." Tally's voice came as grabbed her arm. Dragging her away. Alessia looked over her shoulder to see Izadora frowning. She moved from Tally to go hug the Necro teacher. Seeing the light in her eyes before Abigail moved in front and pulled Alessia away.
"We're drinking tonight." Abigail spoke. She nodded her head as she followed her unit back into a car. Headed back to Fort Salem.
Alessia was back in her night wear. This time black sweatpants. She had just taken a shower as she was laying on the ground. Her mind kept drifting off to that kiss so long ago. She touched her hand as she raised it up. Tracing her palm. She could still feel when Izadora held her hand. She wanted nothing more than to go to that woman. She had such a major effect on her. Letting her hands drop while listening to the others talking about Libba. She sat up as Tally passed her a drink. Alessia took a swig and coughed as it burned down her throat. Hearing some laughs.
"To Libba." Alessia spoke as she raised her cup as did the others. Taking another drink in her name.
"You did good." Tally spoke.
"We are proud of you Bells." Raelle spoke. Alessia nodded her head in agreement.
"You guys stop." Abigail spoke.
"You're a leader." Alessia added.
"You're a natural born leader, and I would follow you anywhere." Tally spoke. Raising her cup.
"You're a warrior queen." Glory spoke.
"You're a priestess of ancient truth." Adil spoke. Alessia snorted at this as did the others. They decided to share some of their favorite memories.
"I'm glad you came." Abigail spoke.
"Of course. I especially like the part about the dead pigeon." They all laughed at this.
"Oh, my mom looked like she was going to end me right there." Abigail spoke. Alessia smiled at this.
"I wish I could have met Libba." Adil spoke.
"Mmm." Alessia spoke.
"She could be frosty." Glory spoke.
"That was part of her charm." Tally spoke.
"I thought she was kind of cute." Raelle spoke. Alessia gasped and looked at her sister.
"Uh oh. Type emerging. Dark hair. Trouble." Tally spoke as Glory gasped.
"Speaking of trouble." Abigail spoke. "Gerit." There was a bird tweeting outside of the window.
"What's wrong with the phone?" Abigail asked as Alessia was shaking her head.
"It's complicated." Tally spoke.
"Uh huh." Alessia spoke as she took a drink.
"Careful. Hilary is formidable." Abigail spoke.
"She's deployed." Tally spoke.
"Goddess protect." Alessia spoke and laughed.
"Love you guys!" Tally shouted as she left.
"Love you too Tal!" Alessia shouted after her in the hall. She turned her head and saw Anacostia and Izadora watching her. She went back into the room and shut the door. Using a sigil to lock it with her pinky. Glory put on some light music as she grabbed Alessia's hand. She twirled Glory with a smile before sitting down on Raelle's bed.
"Skaa!" Alessia hissed. Shattering the concrete pillar in the gym. Hearing whispering among the cadets in the gym.
"Impressive Cadet Solace." Anacostia spoke. Alessia bowed her head and moved back to the end of the line.
"You've been holding out on us this whole time?" Abigail asked. Alessia looked at her friend and smirked.
"Didn't want to outshine you or anyone." Alessia spoke.
"No more secrets, remember?" Tally asked. Alessia's eyes were watching the dark brown ones of the Necro. She smiled weakly at the teacher. The smile was returned by Izadora. She couldn't break eye contact. She loved looking at the Necro. 'So beautiful.' Alessia thought.
"Alessia!" Tally spoke.
"Huh?" Alessia asked, looking at her fiery friend.
"No more secrets." She spoke again.
"Oh right. Yeah. Sorry. They were chatting away as they had finished training. Alessia was starting to show off with her vocals. She was linked with Tally with their arms as they made their way back to the suite.
"Collar! I need to speak to you." Anacostia shouted.
"I'll catch up." Raelle spoke as they nodded. Turning on their heels and making their way back to the suite. Alessia was letting Tally guide her back.
"Anymore headaches?" Abigail asked.
"Yeah. They've been around a lot recently." Alessia spoke softly.
"Have you tried making a potion? I heard Alder had a greenhouse." Tally spoke.
"We're not allowed to." Alessia spoke. "And since I'm not a Necro. I'm not allowed to make potions." Alessia added. She sat on her bed as they were now waiting for Raelle to come back. Hearing the door closed as Raelle tossed her jacket aside.
"What did Anacostia want?" Abigail asked. Alessia set the fungi book down and hopped off her bed.
"Guess." Raelle spoke.
"Scylla." Tally replied.
"You're a good guesser. Scylla wants to see me. She wants to say goodbye. They're sending her to prison for life." Raelle spoke. Alessia frowned and touched Raelle's shoulder.
"Are you going to see her?" Abigail asked.
"No."
"Might want to think about that. If I had the chance to say one more thing to Charvel, or Libba. I'd take it." Abigail spoke.
"She's right." Alessia spoke softly.
"Forever's long." Abigail added. Hearing a knock on the door.
"Abigail. General Bellweather wishes to speak to you." The woman spoke.
"I'll be back!" Tally spoke. Raelle and Alessia looked at each other and chuckled.
"I'm going to go and talk to Anacostia." Raelle spoke.
"Good luck. I'm going to go eat." Alessia spoke.
"Get your head checked!" Raelle shouted at her in the hallway.
"Nah. A little pain is good for you!" She called back before turning to leave. Heading towards the mess hall.
"Can I join you?" Glory's voice came. Alessia nodded. "Where's Tally?" Glory asked.
"Getting charged up." Alessia spoke while eating a couple strawberries. Hearing a giggle from Glory.
"Charging up feels good don't you think?" Glory asked. Alessia looked at her and raised a brow.
"I wouldn't know." Alessia spoke.
"Oh. I'm sorry I didn't mean." Glory spoke as Alessia raised her hand up.
"It's alright. Just waiting for the right time for her." Alessia spoke. Her eyes met the dark brown ones as she was listening in.
"We should go. There's a press conference going on and the President is addressing the nation." Alessia spoke. "I heard there is a change coming." She added as they both stood up to wait in the other room. Seeing Anacostia there already.
"Hey Abs." Alessia spoke as she nudged her sister's shoulder and smiled.
"Hey. Important address coming on." Abigail spoke.
"I know." She smiled at Abigail as Tally came to stand by her. Alessia could see her out of breath. "Calm down Tally. I can hear your heartbeat." She whispered to Tally.
"Sorry I. Later." She spoke. She frowned at her fiery friend but nodded.
"My fellow citizens." President Wade began. They were all listening in silence. Abigail had a smile on her face as Adil was standing next to her. Alessia frowned while looking around. She could hear a low humming. She slipped away as the President was talking. She moved to the back and looked at Anacostia. Izadora was standing next to her.
"Cadet Solace. What is it?" She asked. She leaned in.
"I can hear a humming of a Seed." Alessia whispered. Anacostia cleared her throat.
"Stay here." She spoke. Alessia nodded. She turned in time.
"Than none other than General Sarah Alder. We will prevail. Bless this great nation and all who defend her." She spoke. Alessia gasped lightly.
"What is it?" Izadora asked. She looked at the Necro teacher before quickly leaving with her unit. She grabbed Tally's arm and Abigail's and led them back to their suite. She was pacing back and forth.
"Why is she doing this?" Alessia asked. "Can we trust anyone?" She asked. Abigail shook her head. Tally sighed and sat down. Hearing their door open and closed. Izadora walked in.
"Why are you here?" Abigail asked while turning on the Necro teacher.
"Anacostia asked me to meet her here." Izadora replied as Alessia looked at her. Seeing the door open again as Raelle and Anacostia came into the room.
"Good. You're here." Anacostia spoke as she closed the door. Alessia moved closer to the Necro teacher as Raelle stood between her and Tally.
"What? What is it?" Tally asked. Everyone was watching Anacostia now.
"Alder puppeted the president." Anacostia spoke as she put her hands behind her back.
"What?!" Alessia shouted. Izadora gasped.
"Isn't that outlawed by the Hague?" Abigail asked.
"Very." Anacostia spoke. "And with good reason. I've known Alder make hundreds of tough calls but never like this. Never with such disregard for the cost of her actions. She's… whatever you set in motion with Petra left her no alternate." Anacostia spoke.
"Can she follow this back to us?" Tally asked while standing in front of Alessia. She frowned at her fiery friend.
"If she does, you're all in grave danger." Anacostia spoke. Alessia sighed and shook her head. Looking to the ground.
"Well?!" Tally asked as she was demanding an answer.
"Yes Tally! It's the damn domino effect!" Alessia sighed.
"The what?" Abigail and Raelle asked at the same time.
"It's because Anacostia allowed Raelle to visit Scylla. Knowing full well she is Spree after being told that she was dead. Then Alder made us execute hostages at citydrop, which caused us to not trust General Alder to begin with. Causing us to lose a dear sister for no reason. Since we didn't trust General Alder, we went to General Bellweather and told her what General Alder was doing. How they found out about Baylord Auto. And so on." Alessia sighed, rubbing her head. "Ugh." She spoke.
"Are you having headaches?" Izadora asked as she grabbed Alessia's shoulders. Wrapping an arm around her.
"Damn that was good Alessia." Abigail spoke. She nodded her head lightly.
"You should have told me. I can make you a potion to help. In the meantime. You four need to keep this information to yourselves." Izadora spoke.
"Get some rest. It's almost graduation time." Anacostia spoke as they all nodded.
"Come with me." Izadora spoke as she led Alessia out of the room.
She followed Izadora in silence as she was guided towards the infirmary. She sighed a little as they entered. She was in the office instead of the actual room. She sat in a chair by the desk.
"You alright?" Izadora asked.
"Yeah. Just a lot happened this year." Alessia spoke.
"That it did indeed." The Necro spoke softly as she was walking over to the locked fridge. Using her finger to unlock it with a sigil. Alessia was watching with a curious look as the teacher pulled out a bottle in the shape of a water bottle. "Drink this before bed." She was instructed as she nodded her head.
"Thank you. I really appreciate it." Alessia spoke with a smile.
"Of course." Izadora spoke as Alessia stood up to leave but was stopped.
"How come you never told me?" Izadora asked as Alessia gave her a questioning look. "About everything going on." She answered.
"We didn't know who to trust." Alessia spoke. She was kind of avoiding eye contact at the moment. Feeling a gentle hand on her arm as it was squeezed.
"At least trust me?" Izadora asked as Alessia looked at her.
"You're close to the General." Alessia spoke.
"What does that mean?" Izadora asked.
"I mean that, if I tell you anything, you report it to the General." Alessia replied.
"It is my duty as part of her Intelligence team and soon it will be yours." Izadora spoke. She sighed and looked down a little. That was only if she made it into War College. With everything that just happened. Her chances were very slim now. Feeling a hand cup her cheek to force her to make eye contact with the dark brown ones again. "Please trust me." She spoke. Alessia lightly nodded her head at this. She didn't know what was happening or what made her do this but she leaned in. Kissing Izadora fully upon her lips. To her surprise, the kiss was being returned. Her hand instinctively rested upon the Necro's hip. She could hear the bells again before pulling back quickly.
"I..I'm sorry! I didn't mean to." Alessia spoke. Seeing the Necro gave her a curious look as she stepped back from the older witch. "I should go." Alessia spoke as she quickly left the office of the infirmary. She could feel her heart racing as she basically ran down the hallways. She stopped at the door of her suite and caught her breath before entering. Seeing her sisters were already sitting on their beds.
"Did she give you anything?" Tally asked. Alessia nodded and held up the bottle.
"Drink it before I go to bed." Alessia spoke. She opened the lid and smelled it. "Ugh." She spoke as she made a face. Hearing a laugh from Tally as Alessia pinched her nose and drank it. The taste was as foul as the smell. "Gonna have to brush my teeth now." Alessia spoke as she went into the bathroom they shared. Setting the bottle down and sighed. Looking in the mirror. She took her toothbrush and brushed her teeth. Feeling the headache gone now. She smiled and finished before changing into her nightwear. Climbing on top of the bunk and laid down. Staring at the ceiling as her mind kept drifting off to those soft lips against her own. She found herself blushing before turning onto her side.
"Goodnight. May the Goddess protect and keep us." Tally spoke softly.
"As the rising moon and setting sun." They said together. Alessia smiled at this. She wanted to do more for the Goddess. Worship the mother. Wondering if there would be time for that as she finally drifted off to sleep.
"Alright ladies! Just like in the Rough room! Grind it to dust!" Anacostia's voice shouted as it echoed. Alessia was watching Tally as she was panicking.
"What's wrong Tal?" Alessia asked as Tally was looking at her with tears in her eyes.
"There are innocent people on that truck!" Tally screamed. Alessia felt her own panic rising as well. She touched Tally's shoulder and focused on her heartbeats. Feeling the link connect as Alessia opened her eyes upon the truck. She could feel them. The civilians were all tied up and scared. Their hearts were all rapidly beating as they were scared. She could feel them. Alessia felt her own eyes water.
"We can't! There are innocents on that truck!" Alessia shouted. Hearing gasps from her fellow comrades.
"The Spree is playing with your sights. They are making you see what they want you to see." Anacostia shouted.
"I can feel them!" Tally shouted.
"Steady! Now!" Anacostia shouted as Alessia used her Seed in full force.
"We killed them! We are murderers! This isn't going to go away!" Tally shouted. Alessia rested a hand on her sister's shoulder. She looked around. They were back in the mess hall. Tally was crying as she was trying to comfort her.
"Let's get some air, Tally." Alessia spoke as she took Tally's arm into her own. They made their way outside as the air was warm from the sun that was now up past noon. "How can Alder get away with this?" Tally asked.
"I don't know." Alessia replied.
"Have you no feelings?" Tally asked rounding onto her.
"What do you mean?" Alessia asked.
"You never cry. Not once! Even when Libba died! You're emotionless! Stone cold, heartless! We killed innocent people!" Tally screamed at her.
"You think I don't know that?!" Alessia shouted back at her. Her voice echoed all over the place as the ground began to shake. Tears formed in her eyes. "Every night I go to sleep thinking about it Tally! Every night we go to bed with blood on our hands!" Alessia screamed. Holding her hands up as they were dripping with blood. She could hear Tally screaming in her mind as Alessia ran towards her. Trying to link with her to help calm her down. The images she was seeing tore her up. Alessia let go and frowned. Seeing her best friend, her sister, now crying and there was nothing she could do to help her.
Alessia gasped and sat up. Feeling the sweat all over her body. She looked over to see Tally asleep. Her back facing her. Alessia could feel the tears falling from her eyes as she quickly wiped them away. She grabbed the book she checked out so long ago and turned on her bed lamp. She wanted to get the dream out of her head as she took a few deep breaths. Her hands were shaking as she folded them together and sighed a little. Once they were done, she opened the book back up to the page she was on. 'Mushrooms occupy the underground world.' She read. "We believe this is the mother." Izadora's voice echoed in her head. Alessia gasped lightly. It would make sense. The mother was the earth itself. She couldn't help but feel like she wanted to connect with the mother more herself. The thought of that made her smile. The military was all about the Goddess but there was nothing to show for it. Or maybe there was? Maybe it was in War College. Since they were only in Basic. Being decided if they go to the front lines or to War College. She sighed lightly as she closed the book and put it back down on the desk. The sun was starting to touch the horizon. She needed to sleep. She was tired. Laying back down while staring at the ceiling as a pair of brown eyes entered her mind again. She smiled and turned onto her side. She had dared to kiss the Necro and it was returned but yet, here she was, craving more each time. Slowly drifting off to sleep. The first bell had rung.
