Chapter 1 - Coming to Camp
As I stopped to look around, I found myself on a beach, not a nice beach with white sand, crystal waters and hot sun but a beach that must have been much farther north I would guess by the dark hue of the water. During my journey I had been guided by a feeling in my gut to this beach. I followed the feeling along the beach until it turned away from the beach and across a road. The feeling led me to a series of hills that seemingly started from the flat forest I'd been walking in so far. But the feeling told me to continue forward so up the hill I climbed, until I reached the top where a sign said "Welcome to Camp Half-blood".
This is an unusual name and location for a campground but I thought, maybe it was something to do with a local story. 'If I find the head office I can see if they have a lot I can rent for a night, then I'll continue following the feeling in the morning' I figured. And just as I walked over the crest of the hill and past the sign, I felt immediately tired and dizzy. I felt myself fall to the ground as I tried to fight to stay awake. "Hey are you alright?" I heard someone yelling as I slipped into unconsciousness.
As I slept I dreamt of a voice, a mysterious voice. This voice seemed hollow and void of any emotion, it also didn't sound necessarily male or female. "With great power comes great responsibility young man" the voice said. "Thanks Uncle Ben." I thought and rolled my eyes. "This is a serious matter boy do not be foolish! We have come to warn you that your power will cause a great disturbance. This disturbance has both good and bad conclusions." The voice said monotonously. Confused I start yelling "my power has already created a disturbance that's why I ran away, are you telling me that I will cause even more disturbances! It's not my fault that I have these powers! It's not my fault I can't control them! I tried before and failed!"
"Hush boy and we will explain. We have chosen you to be our instrument to bring about the next age for this world. Your powers are those that will help you to bring our plan into motion. When you wake up you will have a full knowledge of your powers as a gift for cooperating so easily this far. As far as your mission you need no details yet, we will come back when you need them." I was completely shocked and confused. I could feel the voice fading away into the blackness of my unconscious. "Wait! I still have so many questions!" I yelled but the voice gave no answer and soon I couldn't feel it's presence anymore.
