I have a few request that I am just now getting to and I apologize for taking so long. I am not taking request at the moment.

I sat there as I watched the waves roll in and out. The sun wasn't even up yet, and I was sitting on the cool sand. I was breathing in the salty air as the cooler air blew over me. I tucked my hair behind my ears as I listened to the world around me. The birds were beginning to wake up, the sky was turning colors, and I knew that it meant another day. I wasn't really looking forward to another day... it meant another day that I wasn't doing what my family wanted. I knew that it was another day that my dad would be upset that I wasn't my brother, that I haven't began to be work in the family business, or that I haven't gotten married yet to continue on the family. I was talking to someone, but no one was ever good enough for my father.

I watched as the sun rose further against the sky and painted a beautiful picture. The sand warmed up, and more birds began to hunt the shores for their breakfast. I finally grabbed my blanket and headed back to my car. I was sure that no one was looking for me yet, unless they were going to tell me what a disappointment I was... but that usually didn't start until after breakfast. I drove to my shop and got started to for the day. I owned my own cafe, and my father hated it. He wanted me to work for him, but I had no desire to work with them. They made their money by owning a strip club and protection schemes. I couldn't careless about either of them.

I got my cafe set up for the day, and checked my appearance in the mirror. I had on black yoga pants, a grey lightweight shirt, my brown hair pulled up in a bun, and my sneakers on. I grabbed my apron, made some muffins, and unlocked the doors. I had my normal regulars come in and get their coffee. I had finished up and was pulling out a fresh batch of muffins when a customer came in. I stepped out and was shocked when I saw who was standing in my cafe. I felt my breath leave my body.

"Hola, Isabella." he said and I forgot how to speak as he smiled at me.

"Damien?" I questioned.

"Yes." he said. He looked amazing. He still had a smooth deep voice. He was in skinny black jeans and a grey button up shirt. I had no idea he was back in San Juan. He had left to go to Miami and that was years ago... when he left with my heart. I couldn't believe that he was back.

"What are you doing back?" I asked him.

"Family." he said and I nodded. I knew that he had an adopted brother that had stayed in Puerto Rico who had made a name for himself here. He was Irish and he stayed behind with their parents.

"Can I get a cafe con leche?" he asked me and I nodded. I was in such shock that he was back that I went onto autopilot. I got it done and handed it to him. He tried to hand me money, but I waved it off.

"Call it a welcome home present." I said and he chuckled as he looked around.

"Do you own this?" he asked me and I nodded.

"I do." I said and he smiled at me.

"You always wanted your own cafe" he said and I was surprised that he remembered that. He kissed my cheek and told me he would see me around before walking back out the door. I stood there in shock before I picked up my phone and texted my best friend that I needed to see her tonight. I had to tell someone what had just happened. She told me to come over at 7pm.

I finished up for the day, prepped for tomorrow, got a workout in a the gym, and showered before I headed over to Melissa's. I had known Melissa since I was younger. She was older than me, but our families had grown up together. I grabbed a bottle of Rose before I got to her house. I parked on the street and rang the doorbell. She opened it a second later and hugged me. I waved at her husband. He was used to me coming over most nights.

We opened the bottle and sat outside on the patio.

"You won't believe who stopped by today." I said and she looked at me with a questioning look.

"Damien." I said and she almost spit out her wine.

"He's back?" she asked me.

"Apparently. He came to the cafe and shocked the shit out of me. He said he came back for family." I told her.

"You know your dad is going to love that." she said and I sighed. I hadn't even thought of that.

"I can't wait to hear it at dinner tomorrow night." I said and she chuckled.

"The only way it would help is if you found a guy between now and then." she said and I laughed so hard because she wasn't wrong, but that was hilarious because we both knew it wasn't going to happen. She was saying something when we heard the door open. We turned to see her husband and brother coming out with beers and the wine bottle.

"Carlito came over and you all looked like you were having fun." her husband said as he poured us more wine. Carlito smiled as he sat beside me. I had the biggest crush on him when I was younger.

"Isabella was just telling me how Damien was back in town." she said and they both groaned. I knew that him and his family weren't well liked in most parts of San Juan because they were known to be ruthless businessmen. They owned a lot of properties and weren't the greatest landlords.

I was sitting outside when Melissa had to help her husband find something inside. I was outside with Carlito.

"Do you want to get a drink tomorrow night?" he asked me out of nowhere and I was surprised. I hadn't really ever talked to him or hung out with him. He was 15 years older than me, and 10 years older than Melissa.

"Oh, um, I have family dinner tomorrow night... how about after that?" I asked him and he nodded.

"Yeah, if you won't be too late." he said and I chuckled.

"If it's past your bedtime grandpa we can always do it another night." I said and he choked on his sip of beer as he started laughing.

"Funny, but no. I know you have a cafe to open." he said and I smirked. I exchanged numbers with him as Melissa was coming out. I sat there a little bit longer before heading back to my villa. I had inherited one of the villas my parents had, and I was grateful it wasn't in the touristy area. I loved that I lived in the quiet area. I fedmy cat, and fell into bed... maybe I had stayed up past my bed time tonight.
