Chapter 32
Thank you to Trini12180 and the guest reviewer. You may be surprised at the Nina fallout.
2021-Presumed Death
Summary: There was not a lot of Liason that didn't have to do with "Franco," his "death," and Elizabeth and Cameron blaming Jason for it. For continuity, Franco was still killed by Jason in 2010. Elizabeth was involved with Bobby, but he called off the wedding when he realized she still had residual feelings for Jason. They grew close again until he went to help Carly.
Sam did end things because of the "danger," much like Elizabeth did years ago. There was a bomb in the Floating Rib set off by Cyrus. Jullian Jerome ordered it, but he was unaware his daughter and grandson would be there. When he learned of the occupants, he tried calling off the hit but was too late. There were casualties. His family left before the bomb and remained unscathed. Others were not so lucky.
Jason and Britt did not get together. Sonny was presumed dead after a fight with Jullian and falling off a bridge into the water. Jullian died. Sonny was presumed dead and washed ashore at Nixon Falls. He lost his memory, and Nina and Jax hid his identity.
To keep order and control over the five families, Jason and Carly entered a marriage of convenience. Carly was ecstatic as she realized she had another chance to be with Jason and planned on keeping him this time. Jason once again puts Carly first. Sonny regained his memories and returned to Port Charles, stopping the "marriage" from going further.
Elizabeth and Sam became friends and had a ceremonial burning of items associated with Jason.
After Sonny reclaimed his business, he reunited with Carly, only to leave her for Nina.
Word came of Drew being alive.
10/25/2021
Jason asks Elizabeth if they still have a chance. Elizabeth scoffs. "Jason, what has changed? We ended things to keep Jake and his brothers safe, but you chose Sam and had a child with her. Why was it okay to be with her and not me? Even when you escaped, you returned to Sam; it was okay to be around Jake and Cameron, but not me. Then you married Carly, even if it was for business; she has small children. Why was it okay for her? Do you understand how that makes me feel?"
"Elizabeth, you have always been important to me. I believed you were too good to be in my life."
"Are you implying I wasn't strong enough to live in your world? Haven't I proved over the past 20 years that I can live in your world? I found you shot in the snow and kept you hidden from your enemies. I survived a bomb in my studio. Even when I told you I could accept your life, you didn't trust me with the truth. But I trusted you. When I called, you would come, but it wasn't enough. I am not some fragile flower that needs protection. I want an equal. I never got that from Lucky. First, he saved me, and I felt I owed him, but I disappointed him. The brainwashing didn't help, but he judged me and couldn't forgive me. Ric was bent on revenge against you and Sonny. I almost died because of him, but you chose Courtney, even though there was danger in her life. Sam seemed the perfect choice for you as she grew up around danger, but you forgave her after what she did to our son. How does that make me feel that the men in my life have made me feel like I owed them, or because I didn't live up to their ideal of me, they tried to tear me down? My choices in men have sucked. I thought you were different."
"Elizabeth, I'm sorry. I never meant for you to think you were second best. I never felt you were good enough for me, so I settled. I was wrong. I'm leaving soon to find Drew. Will you wait so we can finish this conversation?"
"I want to finish this conversation, but I can't promise to wait. I've heard this story before. I never stopped loving you, but I need someone who will put me first and consider me his equal."
Jason kisses Elizabeth and says, "Not goodbye, but I'll see you later."
Elizabeth laughs and touches the tingling sensation on her lips.
Jason rescued his brother; Drew escaped, but Jason was trapped under the rubble on Cassidine Island. He was presumed dead in November 2021. Drew returns to Port Charles, where he reunites with loved ones. Sam is with Dante, and Drew begins a relationship with Carly.
Monica declared Jason legally dead in March 2022.
2023
Monica calls Elizabeth and tells her Jason is alive. Elizabeth helps Jason recover.

2012
Robin survived Lisa messing with her meds since Jason killed Lisa in 2011. Anna Devane is in town. What if Robin didn't "die" in the lab accident?
2/14/2012
Summary:
Robin is on the phone checking on Jason Morgan's lab results. She is on her way to GH. Patrick, Robin, Emma, and Anna have a brief Valentine's Day celebration before Patrick and Robin leave for GH.
They followed up with Jason on his procedure, and Robin headed to the lab. She has three solutions to test for Jason's protocol. Maxie interrupts her, complaining about her latest problems. Maxie's purse gets caught on a gas valve, and she yanks the purse as she leaves, pissed that her cousin is not giving her full attention. Robin sighs and thinks, "I'll deal with Maxie later. Today, Jason is more important."
Robin tests two protocols, which are not a match. She leaves the last one to test and takes a break to visit her mother and daughter.
Patrick enters the lab, which is filling up with gas. He passes out. Robin finds him and drags him out to the hallway. She returns to the lab and finds the last solution, showing a match for Jason's surgery. The alarms sound as she places the vial in her lab coat pocket. Robin escapes with seconds to spare before the lab locks down due to the toxins. The lab explodes, but Robin and Patrick survive. Robin grabs the oxygen mask and shares it with Patrick until they breathe normally.
The alarms alert the emergency services, and they extinguish the fire.
Robin and Patrick change into new scrubs and call Monica to tell her to get the OR room ready. They enter Jason's room to update him on his surgery. Jason says, "I heard there was an explosion. Are you okay?"
Robin replies, "We are fine. I'll tell you about it in recovery. A nurse will prep you for surgery, and Patrick will meet you there. I'll be observing."
Jason's surgery is a success. Robin and Patrick are taking a long-needed vacation. They use one of Patrick's tickets he gave Robin for her birthday last year to tour Rio.
Side Note: Since Robin didn't die, he never got with Britt or "almost married" Sabrina. Robin was not kept hostage by Obrecht and Faison.

Early Christmas
Elizabeth wakes up to Jason and Francis carrying a two-foot-sized pine tree in a pot. Elizabeth laughs. "Are we back in 1999?"
"You remembered? You know how I feel about cutting down trees. We could decorate this as we once did. I want our first Christmas tree to be remembered. We can plant it on our property and remember it forever."
"Jason, I love it! I want to plant it outside of our bedroom window. We can watch it grow as our marriage grows."
"We will wait until warmer weather, but I love the location."
Elizabeth, Cam, and Jake make paper chains and cut angels and bells from construction paper. Jason and Aiden prepare breakfast. After breakfast, everyone decorates the tree.
The presents are sparse since the boys received everything they requested in their move. Jason and Elizabeth told the boys that their contributions to the move and help with the wedding were their gifts, to them.
Jason opens a box and places a citrine and topaz necklace around Elizabeth's neck. "These represent your birthstone." He kisses her neck as he adjusts the clasp.
Elizabeth hands Jason a box. He opens it to reveal an "8-Ball" made of marble. It is enclosed in a glass case. The bottom has his initials etched on it. "Jason, I don't know if you know the origins of the eight ball in the game of pool, but it can bring good and bad luck. It represents the idea of chance. This 8-Ball symbolizes our relationship. We've had the good and the bad. We've endured many obstacles. It's time for us to take a chance."
Jason smiles, "I'm not one for symbolism unless you are the one to point it out to me. You show me things I never considered before. I like how this can define us."
Elizabeth checks her messages and listens to Laura, confirming that she, Kevin, and Spencer will attend the wedding.
12/19/2023
Elizabeth drives to Aurora Media to see Drew. "Elizabeth, hi! How are you? Have you set a date?"
"I'm sorry to have kept the date from you, but Jason and I don't want Carly to know. I wish I could invite you, but we don't want Carly crashing our wedding. Jason and I are getting married tomorrow and leaving for Belize after."
"Congratulations. I understand wanting it low-key. Your secret is safe with me. Can I get you a wedding present?"
"No, Jason and I have picked everything we want. If you're going to do something, donate to a cause important to you."
"Good luck. Give my best to Jason."
Elizabeth arrives at the Quartermaines. She asks for Monica, and Elizabeth sees Michael while she waits. "Michael, will you be at the wedding tomorrow?"
"Yes, I got the invite ten days ago; it doesn't list where you are registered.
Elizabeth laughs, "We aren't registered. Gifts aren't necessary."
Monica enters and says, "Thank you for waiting; what can I do for you today? You aren't eloping, are you?"
"Monica, we have been waiting years for this to happen. I won't elope, especially after all the work my kids did to make this happen." It will still be low-key. Elizabeth hands Monica an envelope. "Here are some minor changes to the requests we left with you on Thanksgiving. Jack will pick you and Michael up tomorrow at 10 am. Willow, Ned, and Olivia don't need to arrive until 1 pm."
Elizabeth stops by GH.
"Terry, don't forget to be at this address tomorrow by 11 am. Yuri can come to the reception after 1 pm."
Cam and Jack pick up Robin, Patrick, Emma, and Noah and take them to Anna's. (In this s/l, Anna is not with Valentine, and shooting Charlotte didn't happen. It was already disturbing shooting a child and not part of the Liason story).
Jason arrives at the Towers and knocks on Sam and Dante's door. Sam opens the door. "Jason, are you here for Danny?"
"Yes, I hope you don't mind him staying the night with Elizabeth and the boys. We want him there for the wedding. You and Dante can come to the reception and take him home later. I hope you don't mind not being invited to the wedding."
"No, of course. Elizabeth said it would be a small event, with only family and a few friends. I understand not wanting me there. What are you going to do about Carly?"
"Carly is not invited. Someone is running interference and ensuring she won't come near the Estates. I want Drew there, but Carly will want to tag along. Elizabeth is explaining why he's not invited."
"I'll get Danny ready for you. He's excited to be included."
Jason walks across the hall to see Sonny while Sam is collecting Danny. Sonny opens the door. Jason looks to the floor and sees several suitcases lined up against the wall. "Is Nina moving out?"
"Yes, she is moving into one of the Penthouse suites at the Metro Court."
"Does Carly know what happened?"
"I haven't told her yet. She won't take the news lightly. I told Nina to stay away from Carly. Michael doesn't want her near Willow or his kids. I don't know if he's spoken to Willow yet, but she may forgive Nina. I'm not sure how it will affect her relationship with Carly."
"Will you be at the wedding? Elizabeth and I want you there, but we have guests under my protection, and you must agree to keep the peace if you come."
"Yes, I will be there at 11 am. Bobbie is keeping Carly occupied."
"Carly will not have the chance to come near my wedding. I have guards stationed to turn her away. Hopefully, she will listen to her mother."
Sam waits with Danny until Jason leaves Sonny's PH. Danny hugs his mother and leaves with Jason. Jason calls Spinelli and reminds him of the time tomorrow.
Jason picks up several pizzas and salads at Charlie's before arriving at the Estates. Jake greets Danny and shows him to his room.
That evening, Elizabeth and Jason toured the area Cam, Jake, Aiden, Danny, and some help from Emma created for their wedding. They removed the furniture from The Great Room and replaced it with rows of chairs separated from an aisle. The Dining Room is set up buffet style with small tables and chairs around the room. Jason checks the wine cellar, and several bottles of champagne, various wines, and liquors are ready.
In bed, Elizabeth and Jason discuss tomorrow and their honeymoon. Elizabeth asks, "Jason, Joss won't be here because Cam and Emma will be here, but is Joss safe? Does she know about Dex?"
"Sonny said he'd confront Dex about his intentions. Joss needs to know, and Sonny said he will take care of things while I'm gone."
"Take care of things? Does he want you to have plausible deniability?"
"I don't know what his plans are. I don't want to know, but I want Joss to be safe. Jack and Francis will stay here in the house while we are away. I've asked Mario to look out for Joss. I told him to keep his distance and only step in if Joss is threatened."
Elizabeth looks at the stack of boxes around their room, yet to be opened from the move. "We still have suitcases and boxes to unpack, but they can wait until we return from our honeymoon."
"The only thing we will need when we leave tomorrow is money and our passports. We can buy everything else."

The wedding and guests
Jack picks up Monica from the mansion. Robin and Patrick arrive with Emma. They picked up all the buffet items and placed them in the dining room. Patrick helps Jason bring bottles from the wine cellar. Cam went to pick up Audrey.
Robin finds Elizabeth and helps her get dressed. Elizabeth wears a cream-colored, low-cut, tea-length dress. She wears the necklace Jason gave her for Christmas.
Monica arrives and meets briefly with Jason and Elizabeth. The guests slowly trickle in once they've been frisked. Gifts are placed on a foyer table.
The guest list:
Sonny
Michael
Terry
Robin, Patrick, and Emma
Cameron, Jake, and Aiden
Danny
Monica
Audrey
Laura, Kevin, and Spencer
Spinelli
Johnny O, Francis, Mario, Jack, and Cody
(If I've left someone out, it's only because of my memory or not being part of the story.)
Jason and Johnny stand in the front with Monica. Guests fill the chairs.
Cameron walks his mother down the aisle. He kisses her on the cheek and shakes Jason's hand. Jason holds Elizabeth's hand, and they face the group. Jason says, "Thank you for coming. It's been a long time for Elizabeth and I to get married. I asked my mother, Monica Quartermaine, to officiate because if she did not help me get the healthcare I needed, I would not be here today. I'm only sorry Epiphany did not live to see Elizabeth and I get married. She was instrumental in my recovery. Patrick, I thank you, too. I wish Nikolas could be here to thank since he rescued me. I hope one day he will return. Many of you wonder why Johnny O'Brien stands next to me. He has supported me over the years, and when I was injured in Greece, he was there for me. He has been a good friend to Elizabeth and me this past year."
Elizabeth laughs, "I think this is the most Jason has ever said publicly. I also want to thank Monica for calling me when Jason asked her to and assisting in his recovery. If not for her, Jason and I would never have found our way back together. I regret that Emily isn't with us today. I will miss her forever."
Monica performs the ceremony. "This past year, my son Jason and I have grown closer than I ever imagined since his accident in late 1995. Elizabeth, I've known you since you were a teenager and my daughter's best friend. Emily would be happy for you both. Jason, do you and Elizabeth have anything you want to add before I continue?"
"No, we've said what is important. We made promises to each other last night. We mourn the loved ones not here to celebrate with us."
Elizabeth says, "We've said so much to each other over the years. I'm ready to be married." Several people chuckle.
Monica says, "Okay, let's proceed."
After Elizabeth and Jason say I do and kiss, everyone applauds.
The remaining guests arrive for the brief reception.
Kelly shows up after an emergency surgery.
Yuri comes with Willow, Ned, and Olivia.
Anna arrives solo. Noah stayed with Grandpa Robert.
Sam and Dante make an appearance and leave with Danny. Sam wishes the couple well.
In the afternoon, Cam and Emma take Audrey home. Robin helps with the cleanup, and that evening, Jason and Elizabeth leave for a mini honeymoon in Belize.
