Tanner, she hated this teacher and was glad this was the only class she had to deal with him in. The rest of the day was senior only classes that he didn't teach thankfully.

"The battle of willow creek took place right at the end of the war in our very own Mystic Falls. How many casualties resulted in this battle? Miss Bennet?,"

"Um a lot, I'm not sure like a whole lot,"

"Cute becomes dumb in a instant Miss Bennet. Mr Donovan? Would you like to take this opportunity to overcome the embedded jock stereotype?,"

"It's ok Mr Tanner I'm cool with it,"

"Elena?, surely you can enlighten us on this town's historical events,"

"I'm sorry I don't know,"

"I was willing to be lenient last year for obvious reasons Elena, but the personal excuses ended with summer break," and with those words the static in the air of the classroom changed and Stefan knew it was Eliza who had always had a protective streak to her.

"You son of a bitch, personal excuses? you try losing your parents at the same time, watching your family fall into a pit of despair and grief and heartbreak and see if your life is suddenly sunshine and rainbows after four god damn months. You know what I will take myself to the office cause if I stay in this classroom I'm liable to say fuck being a student and kick your ass for being a cold hearted asshole," Eliza screamed at Tanner making the entire class stare at her in shock at her out rage.

Grabbing her bag and books she stormed out missing the applauding from the class as the initial shock wore off. She also missed the face off between Stefan and Tanner about historical dates, and facts.

Making her way into the office she bit her lip as she told the secretary why she was there.

After a very stern talking to, and a understanding of why she snapped, and how Tanner would be handled she was released from the office with just a slap on the wrist.

She finished out the rest of the day before making her way to her Impala. Jeremy was leaning against the car, arms crossed, and a smirk on his face.

"You heard,"

"Yep, you ok,"

"I'm fine I didn't even get in trouble,"

"Lucky, ready to head home?,"

"Yeah let's go bro," Eliza agreed as she unlocked the car and they got in.

When they arrived home Eliza headed to her room as Jeremy headed to the kitchen where Jenna was. She needed her time so she turned on her soothing music soundtrack, and pulled her standing punching bag out of the closet to let off some steam.

Jenna sighed knowing that it was bound to happen when Eliza snapped, who knew it would take Tanner to do so. She decided to wait before going upstairs to check on her she knew she needed some time to decompress.

Jeremy dished up a bowl of Chinese food that Jenna had brought home and grabbed one of Eliza's vitamin waters out of the fridge and headed upstairs. He knew her door would be locked but not the bathroom door that connected their bedrooms. Carefully juggling the food and drink he slipped into her room and headed over to her dresser. He placed the food on the top of it and left knowing better then to interrupt her boxing.

An hour later when Eliza came out of her zone she turned and saw the water and food on the dresser and smiled knowing it was Jeremy who left it there for her. She went and unlocked her bedroom door and sat on the chair at her dresser and began to eat.

Five minutes into eating there was a soft knock at the door. Slowly it opened revealing Jenna's head.

"Hey you got a minute?,"

"Yeah it's safe to enter,"

"Are you alright, I know you won't be ok after what I heard happened today but are you at least alright?,"

"Yeah I'm alright thanks for checking on me aunt Jenna, I'm sorry about today I admit I could have handled that better but he made me so mad,"

"I know sweetie it's ok you don't have to apologize, Jeremy and Elena left for the party at the falls, and there's a guest downstairs asking for you,"

"Huh," with that said Eliza made her way downstairs surprised to find Stefan standing in the foyer looking up at her.

"Hey,"

"Hey I wanted to check on you,"

"Thank you, I hope he wasn't harsh on you all after I stormed out,"

"No it's ok I got into a right or wrong moment with him but that was cause I pretty much told him he didn't know his own town's facts,"

"Ouch nice one Stef,"

"I know right, but for real are you alright?,"

"I will be,"

"You coming to the party at the falls, you can ride with me,"

"Um give me about twenty minutes I was working out need a quick shower,"

"Take thirty," he smiled as she led him to the kitchen so he could chat with Jenna while she got ready.

It only took her twenty five minutes to get her shower and get ready. She only did basic eyeliner for her makeup choice not in the mood to do anything fancy. She chose to dress comfy to make herself feel good. She wore her crimson wool sweater, a pair of black bell bottom jeans, and her black skater shoes.

"Thanks for waiting Stefan,"

"Anytime for you Lizzie,"

"Does this mean you won't forget about me this time if you start dating Elena,"

"I swear I won't forget you when I start dating Katherine 2.0," he laughed as he used her own words against her.

"Smart ass," she pushed him lightly as they headed out.

He drove them both to the falls in a quiet environment. He knew she would start any conversation she wanted, but honestly she was just enjoying have her best friend back after so long.

When they arrived she kissed his cheek and pushed him towards her sister knowing that Elena was most likely waiting for him. She on the other hand headed over to the fire pit and took a seat on the log bench to stay warm.

"Drink," came a familiar voice from her left.

Turning her head she squealed in shock standing beside her was Jackie, her best friend who had left town last year for a course at the school of art in New York.

"Omg when did you get home?," she jumped up hugging Jackie tight.

"Yesterday knew you would appreciate a good surprise at this thing,"

"I've missed you,"

"Me too, I heard about what happened at school today,"

"God it spread so fast, I swear I have never snapped like that before,"

"I know, but after what happened with your folks it was bound to happen,"

"True, so are you back for good,"

"Yup, you and me will rule the school again,"

"Always," she joked as she leaned against her friend.

They spent the night drinking together forgetting all their problems until there was drunk Caroline bawling on a opposite log with Bonnie trying to comfort her, the entire group of students that had come freaking out over something, and Elena storming around to find her siblings.

Turns out as they were drinking Vicki Donovan had stumbled into the woods and had been attacked by a animal.

Eliza took all of two seconds to find Jeremy and beckon him over to join her and Jackie.

He plopped down at her feet and laid his head on her lap. He hated how tonight felt like the night they lost their parents.

After the cops and paramedics came and took Vicki, and Matt who went with her, to the hospital Elena started to try to become mom but one look from Eliza after today made her shut up.

Jackie pulled Eliza and Jeremy up and went to her car. She shoved Eliza in the passenger seat, and pushed Jeremy into the back seat. She drove them home and told Jenna they needed a pass tonight for two separate reasons. Jenna understood and helped Jackie bring them inside. She took Jeremy and got him in his bed to sleep off his night.

Jackie on the other hand took Eliza and helped her get changed and into bed. She took a second to look at the pictures on Eliza's mirror to see how the last year went for her. She missed Eliza, but couldn't tell her the truth yet.

She hadn't left for school, she had left cause the first month she went to New York she met a new friend who introduced her to a whole new world. It was in that month she was turned. Jackie was no longer human she was one of the undead.

If Eliza had been sober enough to realize it she would have noticed the lapis lazuli necklace around her neck. What Jackie wouldn't realize is that Eliza wouldn't judge her, she would embrace her. She was her best friend and nothing would ever change that.
