Ever since Eliza told Jenna about everything going on she seemed to have had a major change of personality. She chose to take some things more seriously and look into ways to help the family. She and Eliza took a afternoon trip to the town she went to with Jeremy and stocked up on vervain plants, she also bought a bunch of home decor items to refurnish her bedroom, and the living room. She also cut her hair to a shorter length and also got some of the protection tattoos that Eliza had as well.

Jenna also had a greenhouse built in the backyard and made sure to have it set up to keep vervain plants alive.

Eliza and Jeremy spent time together watching tv and playing video games on their off time from school, and also did their homework together.

Stefan would text her at least once a day to check in on her, and surprising Damon stole her number from Stefan's phone and sent her a single message so far telling her he would like to get the chance to talk to her. That of course got her hopes up that maybe he wanted to mend things and become friends again. She could never go back to him her heart was personally bound forever with an original and that was a bond she never wanted broken.

Speaking of the original she texted had texted her a few more times. Letting her know he wanted constant updates on her, more photos if was possible, and contact with her at some point since he didn't know it was she he was talking to.

Eliza started to journal again, briefly but every so often. She knew things were gonna get bad again soon but she would cherish the good times while she could.

Jenna and Eliza stood in the dining room watching tv the next morning as Jenna yelled at the tv causing Eliza to laugh and Jeremy to shake his head at their antics.

"Scum ball, scum bucket,"

"Who is she talking to?," Elena questioned as she came downstairs.

"The tv," Jeremy gave the flat answer.

"Him,"

"The news guy?,"

"Also known as Logan Scumfell. Did your mom ever tell you why I moved away from Mystic Falls?,"

"No way you and him? He's cute,"

"He is not cute, there is nothing cute about him,"

"What are you doing with that?," Jenna asked seeing Elena sit down with the family jewelry box.

"I went yesterday and got it from the safe deposit box, mom had told Mrs Lockwood she would loan it to the founder's council for their heritage display,"

"Is that grandma Beth's wedding ring?," Jenna picked up a vintage ring that noticed had a the shade of lapis lazuli that Eliza had shown her.

"Originally it was great great Mary's wedding ring,"

"How much do you think this stuff is worth you know like on eBay," Eliza rolled her eyes knowing he asked that question just to rile Elena up.

"You're not going to find out," Elena spat out as she snatched the pocket watch from his hand.

"That stuff is mom and dad's you can't just give it away," Jenna turned towards Jeremy knowing it would be hard to be separated from their belongings still so soon after their death.

"I'm not giving it away it's called a loan Jeremy," with that said the doorbell rang.

Eliza gave Elena a i'm not getting it look in case it was her boyfriend. It was then Eliza's phone dinged with a text from Jackie. She was in a small town a few towns away feeding and found a stray puppy she was bringing it to her cause she knew how much she loves animals.

Elena went and answered the door and lo and behold it was Stefan, how Eliza was right she would never understand.

"Hi," Stefan greeted her with a smile as Elena grabbed his hand pulling him inside and over to the side by the stairs where they wouldn't be seen, and kissed him deeply.

Eliza rolled her eyes as she heard two set of footsteps go upstairs and gestured to Jenna to slide her the jewelry box, and for her and Jeremy to have a seat.

Smiling she handed Jeremy back their dad's pocket watch.

"That dear brother is no ordinary pocket watch, the original Gilbert invented devices for vampire hunting. That watch turns into a vampire compass that will identify when a vampire within a ten foot radius,"

"That is so cool," he exclaimed examining the watch closer now.

"Aunt Jenna yes this wedding ring was Mary and Beth's but i'm sure you noticed the stone, it was also Emily Gilbert's sun ring before she was killed by a ancestor,"

"Woah, so hunters and vampires in the family,"

"Yep, best of both worlds. When we next go to the lake house I will show you mom and dad's stash there," Eliza laughed at their expressions as she started polishing what Elena ditched for Stefan.

Upstairs Elena and Stefan finally finished making out when Stefan moved sitting on the window seat, and Elena sat crossed legged on her bed.

"How do you look in a suit?,"

"I can pull one off,"

"How about tomorrow night, will you be my date to the founder's party?,"

"They still do that?,"

"Have you been before?,"

"The Salvatore's don't get invited anymore,"

"Well this year there's this heritage project that meant a lot to my mom, she was really involved in the founder's council, and it was her favorite party. I know it sounds really boring,"

"I would be honored to accompany you Miss Gilbert,"

"The pleasure is all mine Mr Salvatore," Elena and Stefan giggled at their interaction the party that night was going to be interesting.
