When they got inside they bumped into everyone in the entrance.

"You went with last years costume too huh,"

"Yeah I didn't know I was coming til an hour ago,"

"Yeah me either, that look looks familiar Eliza Underworld?,"

"Yep Selene with my own twist,"

"Nice, and you're going as you," he turned asking Jeremy.

"He isn't into this much but Damon here dressed as my Michael Corvin from Underworld, excuse us we are gonna mingle and keep a eye on Jeremy," she made the excuse to leave the exes alone.

"Awkward," Damon pointed out.

"I know right that's why I got us out of there," she giggled as they walked in arm and arm.

"He's not talking to me right now we got into a fight," Elena said putting her hands on her hips as she explained Jeremy's mood to Matt.

"Yeah I got into it with Vick too when she got home, I try not to smother her tonight but part of me didn't want to let her out of my sight,"

"She's here?,"

"Yeah you can't miss her she's a vampire,"

"Where did Jeremy go," Elena began freaking out.

Damon turned to Eliza and whispered so not to draw attention to them.

"Vicki is here, came as a vampire ironically, but your sister is freaking out looking for Jeremy,"

"He is fine you would hear him right or he would text us, he is a smart kid and he knows the truth of everything so he can handle it,"

"You're right he has surprised me since I met him but I'm happy you have such a tight knit group,"

"Me too," she smiled at him as she heard a loud shriek in her ears.

"Boo! I'm back kiddies," Jackie was all smiles as she walked around to face them.

"Wow Jackie risque flapper?,"

"Yep, had to make an entrance. Greta is back home. I met Nik and his brother, super nice guys by the way, and come back with a letter for you which is sitting on your nightstand at home,"

"Thanks Jackie I appreciate you taking the time to make sure Greta got home safe and for bringing back word from them,"

"Anytime sis," she hugged Eliza as she linked arms with her free arm.

Now Eliza had Damon on her left and Jackie on her right and she loved it.

She knew how Elena could get though and together they headed through the school to find Jeremy.

As they got further into the school Damon and Jackie kept their ears out for Jeremy and Vicki knowing where one went the other would be.

"Outside I can hear them," Damon let them know.

Together they headed out towards where the buses were kept.

So far Damon could only hear them making out so they kept their distance until he heard Jeremy say ow. He knew they had to get involved now, Jeremy knew about vampires just not how to handle someone you love.

As they made out next to the school bus Vicki became aggressive with her actions making him push her away.

"Vicki, Vicki what the hell?," he asked as he saw her face transform.

"Oh my god no Vicki stop," Jeremy let out a holler hoping the inner circle would hear him.

"Vicki no!," Elena yelled trying to make her stop.

Jeremy rolled his eyes as Vicki flung him away hating the fact it was Elena that found them and not Eliza with either Jackie or Damon.

Elena had grabbed a board from near by and swung at Vicki who swatted it away like it was a fly. Grabbing a hold of her she threw Elena into a pile of trash on top of a skid a foot away.

"Vicki!," Jeremy yelled as he stood and walked over as Stefan arrived to fight her.

"Go, get inside, go!," Stefan ordered as Elena took his advice and rushed towards Jeremy grabbing his arm to go inside.

As they made it to the door Elena made it back inside as Vicki grabbed Jeremy away from her. Eliza rushed forward to help Elena but was short of getting a hold of her when she was pulled into her arms fangs ripping into her throat.

Elena screamed as Stefan rushed over with a piece of wood stabbing Vicki from behind. Eliza's eyes went wide when she saw her killed in front of her. She knew this would affect Jeremy but she would be there for him through this.

Jeremy laid on the ground where he landed eyes wide and jaw dropped as he watched Vicki die in front of his eyes.

"No Vicki!," he yelled out as he got up and tried to run to her only for Stefan to stop him from comforting the girl he loves.

As she collapsed dead at their feet Elena decided to try to handle the situation as always.

"Get them out of here," she asked Stefan.

He nodded taking Jeremy and Eliza's arms and preparing to flash off but not before Jackie grabbed Eliza from him.

"Hell no buddy boy she comes with me," he knew not to argue and took off with Jeremy while Jackie took Eliza out to her car to drive the Impala home.

Elena chose to stay behind kneeling on the ground by Vicki's corpse.

Damon had chosen to stay behind to clean up after Stefan and Elena then he had to go back to the Gilbert house to help Eliza and Jeremy.

"You should go I got this,"

"You did this, this is your fault,"

"You confuse me with someone with remorse," Damon did feel bad but he would never let Elena or Stefan know that or anything else about him.

Elena thinking she was smart tried shoving Damon and when that didn't work she raised her hand to slap him but he caught her hand to stop her.

"None of this matters to me, none of it,"

"People die around you how could it not matter? It matters and you know it,"

"You need to leave, your wounds are bleeding and you need to leave," Damon said as Elena turned to leave.

Back at the Gilbert house Eliza had arrived before Elena and headed upstairs to Jeremy's room. He laid on his bed sobbing but when she arrived she laid down beside him on the bed and he clung to her.

Eliza had a gut feeling Elena would try something so she knew she needed to have a talk with Jeremy quickly.

"Hey look at me," she coaxed him to look at her.

When he was paying attention she gave him a serious look.

"You and I know Elena will try something when she gets home, do no take off what I gave you ok, it is your choice and your free will never let it get taken away,"

"Do you really think she would try that?,"

"It's Elena," she pointed out knowing he would understand.

Outside Stefan watched as Elena walked up the front steps of the house.

"Where is he?," Stefan gestured with his head to the house.

"And Eliza?,"

"With him, comforting him only haven't heard them say anything except the words it will be ok," he said lying for Eliza his loyalties to her stronger then Elena.

Elena headed inside and upstairs when she reached the top she saw Eliza and Jeremy hugging each other for support as she approached them.

"Do you understand what happened tonight?," she asked Jeremy as she placed her hand on his back.

"No I don't understand, I mean I know what I saw but I don't understand it,"

"She was going to kill me,"

"No she's dead, Vicki's dead,"

"I am so sorry Jer,"

"Make it stop it hurts,"

"Shh it's ok it's ok," she rubbed his back trying to comfort him as Eliza continued hugging him.

"Why does everyone have to die on me?," Elena leaned down hugging him from behind her arms extending around Eliza as well.

Outside Stefan sat on the seat listening to the heart breaking sounds inside he felt so bad for them all.

Shortly after Elena made her way outside to talk to Stefan.

"Are you ok?," she asked him as he stood to talk to her face to face.

"I uh wanted to help her but instead um, how's he doing?,"

"He's a mess, Eliza is trying to help him, we both hugged him tightly to know he wasn't alone but I don't want him going through this again he's just a kid,"

"Elena what can I do? What can I do to help?, I'll do anything,"

"Can you make him forget?,"

"Elena,"

"Stefan please, I don't know how he will ever get past this, I just want him to forget everything that happened,"

"If I did it there would be no guarantee that it would work because of who I am, because of how I live. I don't have the ability to do it right,"

"I can do it," Damon offered as he arrived to check on Eliza.

"If this is what you want?," he asked as he walked up to them.

"I'll do it,"

"It's what I want,"

"What do you want him to know?,"

"I want you to tell him that Vicki left town and she's not coming back, that he should't look for her, or worry about her. He's going to miss her but he knows it's for the best," as she said that he turned heading inside.

When he got upstairs he found Eliza in the room with him. She gave him a knowing look.

"Don't do as she asked I already talked to him he will tell you what he wants done," he nodded before turning to Jeremy who was removing his bracelet.

"I don't want to forget just tell me to grieve healthily, act normal in front of Elena, and don't do any drugs to numb the pain,"

"Ok kid let's do this," and so Damon stood in front of Jeremy looking him in the eyes doing as he asked, compelling him how he wanted to be not how Elena wanted.

When it was done Eliza smiled at Damon as Jeremy put his bracelet back on.

"Thank you Damon,"

"Anytime, come on baby girl let's get you rested up for tomorrow," Eliza kissed Jeremy's forehead before taking his outstretched hand and heading into her bedroom.

When they got in the bedroom Damon closed the bathroom door to give both sides their share of privacy for the night. Eliza reached behind her to remove the corset but was stopped.

Damon slowly undid the corset for her removing it as she rubbed her ribs where it sat all night. Then he began to unzip the back of the body suit for her as well and when it was all the way down he bent kissing the top of her spine.

Eliza felt peaceful around Damon, yeah he made mistakes, yeah he messed up big time with the Katherine situation in 1864 but he was making up for it. He was being there for her, he told her about the tomb, and he was taking care of her.

She went over to the dresser taking out a fresh set of pajamas and changed into them in front of Damon. Sitting at he vanity she began to remove the make up from tonight as well.

"Did you want me to stay?,"

"I think tonight I need to be with Jeremy, I hope you understand,"

"I do Lizzie, I'm only a phone call away ok,"

"Thank you Damon for everything today,"

"Anytime," he leaned down to where she sat kissing her forehead as he turned heading out to go home for the night.

She knew Jenna was staying on campus so she grabbed her phone and after texting her telling her what was going on she went back in Jeremy's room.

She saw him already in bed so she lifted the covers slipping in beside him. He knew it was her and wrapped his arms around her. Cuddling together they leaned on each other for strength after such a long tiring day, and they knew it wasn't going to be the first of the last time it happened.
