Hope everyone is enjoying the story so far. I currently have a week off work so expect lots of updates to this and possibly my other stories.
Stefan and Damon escorted Eliza and Elena into the dance. Eliza saw her brother and Anna and waved to them before looking around at the sea of people.
Unlike Elena she was mapping out where each of the family was. Jenna was with Ric, Jeremy with Anna who would protect him, Jackie was dancing it up surprisingly with Tyler Lockwood, and Bonnie and Caroline were hanging out together in the corner by the punch.
Elena chose to go talk to Bonnie and Caroline so she and Damon stayed on the dance floor keeping watch.
"Having fun?,"
"No but this took about two hours so i'm staying for at least half of that,"
"What's Damon doing here?," Bonnie angrily asked.
"He's here with Eliza, he will be on his best behavior you know he will do anything for her,"
"Plus if i'm gonna be with Stefan I have to tolerate Damon it's not like I can kill him,"
"There's a thought,"
"I'll help," Caroline agreed.
Jenna and Ric started to walk around after getting punch to check on everything.
"I'm really starting to see a change in Jeremy finally,"
"Losing someone you love so suddenly the trauma and grief there is some of the tougher things he'll face in life,"
"From someone who knows," Jenna stopped to face Ric.
"You have no idea what happened?,"
"That's the hard part not knowing,"
"Is it ok to talk about your wife?,"
"Well there's not much to talk about,"
"That must be impossible to deal with not having any answers,"
"I'd be lying if I told you it didn't keep me up at night wondering why and by who?,"
"Maybe one day,"
"Hope so, I hope so," Ric said while staring across the room.
Damon led Eliza by the arm towards the table where Caroline and Bonnie stood.
"Day leave them be they hate you enough already,"
"I promise peaceful. Hi Bonnie wanna dance?,"
"What am I chop liver I've only been on your arm the last twenty minutes,"
"I'm out of here,"
"Please give me another chance," he asked letting go of Eliza.
She took the opportunity to walk away from him making her way to Jeremy and Anna, who hugged her after hearing that little exchange.
"Where did they and Eliza go?," Elena asked as she and Stefan walked up to him.
"I don't know, especially about Eliza I let go of her arm and she slipped away,"
"What did you say to them?,"
"I was perfectly polite. Elena would you like to dance?,"
"I would love to. May I have this dance?," she asked Stefan turning to him to make it clear she would only dance with him.
Stefan smiled holding out his arm to lead her to the floor.
Eliza sat next to Jeremy and Anna sadly she had hoped Damon had changed and yet it seems like she was right back where she was again. She was a fool to think Damon would have changed he was doing all this to get to Katherine, after all these years, despite having her back in his life, he was focused on her.
Jeremy handed Eliza a glass of punch to keep her hydrated while she hid from Damon.
She watched though, she could see everything where she sat. Damon couldn't take his eyes off Elena, and so she knew the curse had taken effect again.
"You know you don't go to school here you don't have to help if you don't want to,"
"No but you and Liz does and I like being helpful,"
"Thank you for getting more cups," Jeremy smiled as she piled them on the table.
"Oh yeah before I forget can I borrow your ancestors journal,"
"Why?,"
"You said I could read it,"
"Well I don't have it,"
"Obviously you didn't bring it here but I can walk you home," she was determined to get to know Jeremy and Eliza rolled her eyes crumpling her cup and hitting him in the head with it.
"Ow, why sis,"
"Air head moment again, she wants to get to know you I swear if I have to teach you about signs about someone liking you that's bad cause I have had 2 serious relationships my whole life,"
"Why do I like you more then Elena?,"
"Cause I let you get away with shit and I don't lie to you,"
"Touche," he nodded agreeing.
"Anyways like I was going to say I loaned it to my history teacher for the moment,"
"Wait why did you give it to him?,"
"I would like to know that too,"
"Cause he wanted to read it,"
"You shouldn't be giving that to just anybody,"
"But I should give it to you,"
"Loan, you're loaning it to me, and since I was part of the original history technically it's safer with a member of the town then a outsider,"
"Agreed," Eliza said as she slipped off her heels her feet starting to hurt.
"Anna your eyes," Jeremy pointed out.
"Shit I got to go," she rushed out she had lost track of her emotions and her veins had started to show.
When she got out to the empty hallway she stop to take a breather not realizing she had been followed.
"Anna, you ok?,"
"Yeah Liz just lost control for a minute needed a break,"
"I'm proud of you you resisted and removed yourself from the room takes a lot of control,"
"Thanks Liz you should head back I'll hang out for a few to decompress,"
"Okay kiddo talk to you later," she turned re entering the gym.
