Eliza stayed home that was the arrangement with Damon. He didn't want her included when he caught his brother and Elena in their web of lies. She was curled up in bed as she knew it was going down. Jackie had gone out for a hunt and said she would be back in the morning. She only hoped her sister would have a good time while out.
She had answered the messages from Nik and Eli while she waited for word on the situation. She also knew she had to go out tomorrow and talk to Sheila about the situation, luckily Greta was on her way to town to help with the tomb.
Stefan dug as he thought back on 1864 remembering how his father had exposed Katherine.
Finally he had dug deep enough hitting the top of his father's coffin. Leaning down he opened the lid having to look away a moment as he saw his father's bones. His arms though gasping the grimoire.
"Is that it?," he didn't answer he just looked up at Elena giving her a sad smile.
Standing up in the grave he ripped open the wrapping on the book, and slowly flipping through it.
"Well what do you know," came Damon's voice from behind him.
"This is a interesting turn of events,"
"I can't let you bring her back I'm sorry,"
"So am I, and what about Eliza, you willing to hurt her again by keeping her parent's locked in there as well? But i'm sorry I thought for a second I could trust you,"
"You're not capable of trust, that fact that you're here means you read the journal, and you were planning on doing this yourself,"
"Of course I was going to do it by myself, because the only ones I can count on is me and Eliza. You made sure of that many years ago Stefan. But you..you had me fooled," he said to Elena feeling happy inside at seeing the shame on her face as she looked away.
"You see I knew about all this all along, Eliza never betrayed me. She and Jackie heard your entire plan and kept me up to date every step of the way. Should be more wary when in your house back stabbing someone," Damon looked towards Elena again.
"So what are you going to do now? Because if you try and destroy that I'll rip her heart out,"
"You won't kill her cause of Eliza," Stefan tried to call his bluff.
Flashing over Damon grabbed Elena in a choke hold.
"I can do one better," he said tearing into his wrist shoving the blood down Elena's throat.
"Give me the book Stefan or I'm snapping her neck then you and I will have a vampire girlfriend,"
"Let her go first,"
"The book,"
"I'm not going to give this to you until she is standing next to me,"
"The problem is that I no longer trust that you will give it back,"
"You just did the one thing that ensures that I will. Okay," Stefan said leaning down tossing the book towards Damon's feet.
Damon turned his head pressing his nose against her head before releasing her while stroking a hand over her hair before making sure she got over to Stefan safely without falling in the hole.
As Stefan grabbed her he looked at his brother one last time before rushing Elena away as Damon looked down at the book and the grave. Leaning down he grabbed the book while thinking back to another memory from 1864.

"Now make sure the two of you stick together,"
"Check those woods over there,"
"They're here,"
"God's on our side,"
"Come on spread out now,"
"Come over here!,"
"Joseph!,"
"Make sure you stick together hear?,"
"Let's go!," the mob outside tracked and searched for the vampires.
Inside the house Giuseppe stood in the corner as two men muzzled Katherine and picked her up to take her away.
"No don't take her!," Damon yelled as he ran up to the bedroom.
"Do you know what they'll do if you're branded a sympathizer, you'll be killed along with them is she worth it the woman who killed this family's beloved Elizabeth?,"
"Then let me be killed," he growled out at his father.
Damon sneered at his father's grave as he turned to leave to go check on Eliza.
At the Gilbert house Stefan stood in the doorway to Elena's bathroom as she dug through the drawers for aspirin as she held her head in pain.
"Aspirin must be downstairs. Is my head suppose to hurt like this?,"
"No, you'll be fine it was only a small amount of blood it should pass out of your system by tomorrow,"
"Are you okay?," Elena asked as she walked up to him.
"Damon was right this is, this is my fault," Stefan leaned his head back as he thought back to 1864.
1864
The men carried a struggling Katherine out of the Salvatore house towards a awaiting carriage.
"Look over there!,"
"Damon, Damon stop," Stefan ran up to his brother to stop him from being seen and getting killed.
"I'll help you we'll get her back,"
"Don't you think you've done enough? You promised you wouldn't tell him,"
"I didn't think this would happen,"
"There she is!,"
"You did this, this is your fault," Damon growled at Stefan before taking off running to find a way to help her.
"I put my faith in my father, but Damon put his faith in me, and I destroyed that. This is my fault," he said again as Elena placed her hands on either side of his face.
"We didn't do anything wrong,"
"We did, or at least I did. I betrayed Damon again, but I also betrayed Eliza who has been my family since 1864 after our family swore an oath to love and protect her as a honorary Salvatore. I'm gonna get you that aspirin okay," Stefan kissed Elena's forehead as he headed downstairs to find aspirin.
Downstairs Stefan found Jenna sitting at the dining room table.
"You know you're not staying the night right?,"
"We're just gonna hang out for a little while,"
"You're lucky I like you enough to let you hang out upstairs but keep the door open,"
"Got it, do you got any aspirin?," Jenna stood walking into the kitchen to get them for him.
Jeremy walked in a minute later nodding as he saw Stefan.
"Oh hey Stefan, where did she go?,"
"She went to the bathroom,"
"Where did who go?,"
"He has a friend over,"
"Anna," Jeremy causally commented.
1864
Anna and Pearl stood in the gate way of where they were staying watching the events occur around them.
'What's happening?,"
"Get Emily and stay hidden I'll get us out of here," Pearl sent her daughter away to protect her as she stepped out towards the horses that were tied up near by.
"Pearl!,"
"Jonathon,"
"You see all this? The town's gone mad rounding up the demons," it was then the compass in his hand went off towards Pearl.
"You?,"
"Jonathon please I beg you,"
"I've got another one over here!," he yelled attracting the attention of those around him.
As Pearl went to flashed away she was shot from behind stopping her in her tracks.
"Mother!," Anna tried yelling out as Emily covered her mouth to protect her.
"Jonathon this way," they guided him as he and another dragged Pearl to the carriage.
"It'll be alright you gonna see her again. I already know how to protect them. I'm gonna protect them," Emily assured Anna as he held her.
"There's gotta be more!,"
"Don't let her get away," it was then Stefan noticed Emily and Anna.
Running upstairs after Jeremy said the name Anna he knew who it was in the house.
When he got far enough up the stairs he flashed the rest of the way.
"Elena!," he yelled out as he found her gone.
Rushing into Eliza's room next he saw she was still there asleep hugging her pillow. He knew now Anna took Elena for a purpose and would do anything to get her back.
