Sorry for the delay on the updates work got busy and had me exhausted daily but I will be working on the story again.

"Damon hasn't said a word to me. Every time I try to talk he shuts me down. He has only spoken to Eliza lately I've seen them texting," Stefan said leaning against the lockers in the hallway.

"Do you think he's still trying to find Katherine?,"

"I don't know. He waited 145 years only to find out that Katherine could not care less. And it's gotta hurt right?,"

"And it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy,"

"You have every reason to be upset with him,"

"Have you thought more about what you're going to do?,"

"About what? Isobel my vampire birth mother who's related to my vampire ancestor Katherine who screwed over your vampire brother and Eliza? Nah I haven't thought about it at all,"

"I'm sorry I brought it up,"

"It would just be nice if we could get through one day without having to deal with any of it. No vampire mother or brother..,"

"No vampires at all?,"

"No vampires but you. I just want to get us back to normal stuff like school and homework. And here's a thought : fun,"

"Oh that sounds good to me when do we start?," sharing a laugh they take off down the hall to class together.

Jackie leaned against the wall in the school hallways biting her lip. She was concerned Harper had gone missing and she feared the worst. She liked him she just hoped he wouldn't betray them especially since Eli an original had vouched for him.

At the Salvatore house Eliza was outside about to head in when Anna came out.

"My mom's in there talking to Damon up to you if you want to go in,"

"Thanks Anna, I'm happy you got her back,"

"Me too, I'm sorry about your parent's,"

"Thank you," she said nodding sadly as she headed in.

"Hello Damon,"

"Ever hear of knocking?,"

"An invitation wasn't necessary. I'm surprised that no living person resides here. Is it just you and your brother?,"

"Yeah how do you keep out unwelcome vampires?," Anna asked joining her mom and Damon in the living room as Eliza lurked in the hallway.

"Kill them," Damon flashed forward grabbing Pearl by the throat.

"Damn," Damon groaned as she grabbed his wrist making him fall on the floor by the couch.

"Have a seat Damon, I was hoping we could have a word,"

"Sure," Damon said getting comfy on the couch to listen to her.

"We've taken residence at a old farmhouse just outside of town, it'll suffice for now,"

"All 23 vampires?,"

"Not all, some. I imagine that a few have already left town. Others are probably still in the woods, or like us acclimating,"

"How'd they get out of the tomb?,"

"I think the witch screwed up that part of her hocus pocus,"

"I understand from Anna that the founding families still have a secret council?,"

"And you're apart of it,"

"That's ridiculous,"

"I've been in Mystic Falls since the comet I'm up to speed,"

"And so am I. Now that you've infiltrated the council I need to know everything starting with a list of the members and their families,"

"And everyone you've supplied with vervain,"

"Yes that will have to stop immediately,"

"What exactly are you trying to achieve?,"

"Mystic Falls is our home Damon they took that from us. Our land, our home, it's time we rebuild,"

"What are you crazy? That was 1864. Wake up woman the world has moved on,"

"As a reward I'm willing to give you what you want most,"

"You wouldn't even know where she was. You've been under the ground for a century and a half,"

"Katherine and I were best friends long before we came to Mystic Falls. I know how she thinks, I know her patterns, I know where to find her,"

"I no longer have any desire to see Katherine ever again, and there's no way I'm gonna play the role of our little minion," he said going to stand up.

"I'm not asking for your help Damon," Pearl flashed forward making him sit back down.

"Finding Katherine was just a mere gesture of kindness, the rest in nonnegotiable," she flashed forward again stabbing her nails into his eyeballs.

"Bitch you better back the fuck up," Eliza came around the corner as she heard Damon cry out in pain vervain gun aimed and ready.

"Elizabeth Mackenzie,"

"It's Eliza now, now let him go," she demanded.

Pearl released Damon and stepped back not breaking her confidence.

"You know it's not 1864 anymore Pearl, this town can tolerate a lot of things psychopathic vampires they can not. I am the last of the Mackenzie's and this is my town you will obey my rules or else I will destroy you,"

"You don't have that kind of power,"

"Try me," she said her eyes flashing purple randomly but at the right time.

Pearl and Anna nodded and turned to leave.

"By the way, who killed my parent's in the tomb?,"

"Fredrick,"

"Thank you now I know whose heart to take in revenge," Eliza nodded as Pearl and Anna flashed out.

"Fuck why are you here you could have been hurt?,"

"Says the man who is kneeling on the ground with bloody eye sockets,"

"Not the point, what could have been so important?,"

Kneeling in front of Damon she pulled his hands away from his eyes to check their condition. "I'm an Elemental," she said as she held up her wrist for him to feed.

After taking a few gulps from Eliza's wrist he sat with his back against the couch.

"You're a what now?,"

"An Elemental, a nature witch in a way. A special kind of person who controls the world around them. I'm the last one," she said sitting down beside him.

He looked over at her curious but knew what she needed now was protection more then anything.

"So you're gonna kill the vamp who killed Alexandra and Ramon?,"

"Yep, he had no right,"

"I'll help,"

"I know you will," she smiled leaving over kissing his cheek.

Damon and Eliza left the house after he grabbed himself some shades and headed to the grill for lunch.

Eliza poked Damon's sides jokingly as they made their way to the bar.

As they sat she noticed the town slut sitting a few seats down.

"What's with the sunglasses inside?,"

"None of your business," Eliza snipped as Damon tried to be nicer.

"My eyes are a little sensitive today,"

"You're new around here,"

"Oh on the contrary i'm very old. Bourbon neat and Shirley for her," he gestured to Eliza she needed her wits about her today with the tomb vampires out.

"I haven't been gone that long i would remember someone who looked like you,"

"Yeah, where did you?,"

"Around, about,"

"Been there,"

"I love to see a man drown his sorrows, it's so sexy," and that was Eliza's cue standing u p after grabbing her drink she walked away ignoring Damon's attempt to grab her back.

"It's more like nursing my wounds, and you?,"

"I was suppose to be interviewing for the bartender job but I think the manager blew me off,"

"That's not very nice,"

"Yeah. Last time I was in town I slept with her boyfriend,"

"That's not very nice either,"

"It happens,"

"Yes it does,"

"Kelly? Kelly Donovan?,"

"Jen!,"

"I heard you were back in town, she use to babysit me,"

"And then I use to party with her,"

"This woman is crazy,"

"Not as crazy as you,"

"Not anymore, got 3 kids to take care of,"

"Well, sit and drink,"

"I shouldn't I'm responsible now haven't you heard?,"

"Take a night off it's good for the soul,"

"Great for the soul," Damon chimed in.

"Weren't you just with my niece?,"

"She's here and I can keep a eye on her let her have her space while I drink,"

"Just don't let her down,"

"Scouts honor," he mocked as he saluted her with his glass.

Eliza on the other hand had slipped into a booth and had a waitress bring her curly fries and a coke as she watched the group at the bar that her aunt had now joined.

It wasn't long before Elena, Stefan, Matt, and Caroline had entered and sat at a booth nearby her now she had two shows the drunk and the awkward's. Stefan had at least noticed her and nodded to her in greeting.

"So Matt how do you like working here?,"

"Well the wait staff is pretty good, but they can't keep a bartender to save their lives. But I, uh I actually hooked my mom up with a job here,"

"How's that been having Kelly back?,"

"You know same old Kelly she's trying so,"

"Kelly and my mom were best friends growing up, it's how Matt and I first met we shared a crib together,"

"You're kidding?,"

"Yeah we've known each other our whole lives," as Matt and Elena looked at each other for a few minutes Caroline sighed in disappointment.

It was then Matt looked over hearing the clinking of glasses seeing his mom at the bar drinking.

"You've got to be kidding me," he said as Damon turned noticing them raising his glass.

Eliza shook her head she felt bad for Matt he didn't deserve the shit he went through she cared about him he was a good kid. That's why earlier today she had accessed her family's bank account online and hacked into the towns information paying off the back bills for Matt as a early birthday gift.

He would never really know it was her or that the amount changed in what he owed unless he looked at the next bills he received.

Sipping her coke she knew she had to head home soon it was getting late she couldn't risk walking home though so she texted Jackie who agreed to come get her.
