Later that night in the Northern Fortress, a young man was exploring an open area. He had long black hair and was barefoot as he wore a traveling dancer outfit which consisted of a black skintight tanktop that exposed his midsection with a red and orange line cloak draped around it along with knee length purple pants.
The Fortune Telling Dancer
Seadall
"My new moves are coming together nicely. Just a bit more practice and I'll call it a day. And this spot…it's perfect for rehearsal. So quiet and empty." Seadall said before noticing a Corrupt walk out from behind a pillar. "Ah! Wh-what is that?!" he said before turning to find more limbering towards him. "No good. I'm trapped here. Is it my fate to die like this? It's such a pity to be caught so unprepared. I'd have practiced combat as well as dance."
"Hurry! You must get to safety, now!" a female voice called out.
"Who said that?" Seadall asked.
"Oh, thank goodness. You can hear what I'm saying, can't you? Follow the sound of my voice. You can hide in here! There's a door to your right! Now go, hurry!" the voice instructed.
"I'm coming!" Seadall said as he ran, the two Corrupted looking at each other in confusion before giving chase.
Meanwhile the group had arrived just outside the Northern Fortress.
"Is the Northern Fortress that frightening?" Alear asked.
"Yup. My ancestors designed it that way. Didn't want people to go poking around. The locals won't get near the place. They say ghosts wander the ruins. A haunted castle! Lately, some have heard a young woman's voice calling out from the inside…" Timerra said as some of the group were chattering their teeth.
"A woman's voice. I see. So it's the Female Corrin." Azura said.
"Yeah… Sorry to disappoint you, Azura." David said. "I bet you were expecting the male one."
"In a way, yes. But it is still Corrin regardless." Azura said.
"Still, if my dear sweet Corrin is in there, we must rescue her." Camilla said.
"Then we'd better get moving." Cure Starlight said. "GV, get your light ready. It's gonna be dark in there."
"On it." Gunvolt nodded as he and Cure Starlight used their powers as flashlights before entering the ruins.
As soon as they entered, they found Corrupted swarming the ruins.
"Damn, they're already here. And it looks like they've got someone pinned down." Kido said, seeing Seadall surrounded.
"They have us well and truly surrounded, again. Still, safer inside than out in the open. Thank you, ring." Seadall said.
"It's no trouble at all." the ring said.
"A guy talking to a ring." Zi-O observed. "Yep, just like what happened with Yunaka, he can hear the Emblem speaking."
"I'd better get rid of the Corrupted first." Gunvolt said, summoning chains from the ground as they ensnare the Corrupted surrounding Seadall before being electrocuted to dust. "You okay?" He asked as he approached the male dancer.
"Who are you?!" Seadall asked.
"Easy there, I just saved your skin." Gunvolt raised his hands in defense. "You were in trouble, after all. Why are you here anyway, Mister…"
"It's Seadall. Apologies. I was out there rehearsing, and those creatures appeared. A talking ring called me to safety." Seadall said as he pulled out a silver grey ring with a tear shaped diamond in the center.
"You do realize you're holding an Emblem Ring that the Divine Dragon is looking for, right?" Gunvolt asked.
"An Emblem, really? One of the godlike figures of legend…" Seadall said.
"That's right, Seadall." Alear confirmed as she approached him. "Will you hand it over to me for a moment so I could awaken it?"
"The Divine Dragon, what do you know? My cards spoke true." Seadall said.
"Uh…yes. Please…if I may?" Alear said as he showed the ring to her. "Bare your fangs, Emblem of Fates!" she called out as Corrin appeared.
"Thank you. I am Emblem Corrin. It is nice to meet you, Divine Dragon." Corrin said.
"Likewise. Seadall, would you fight by Corrin's side? We could use your help getting out of here." Alear said.
"It would be my pleasure. This world… Wonders upon wonders." Seadall said.
"Oh, Corrin, it is so good to see you." Camilla said.
"Sister! Aren't you a sight for sore eyes." Corrin said.
"Indeed, and we get to fight side by side together once again." Camilla said as the doors the group came in closed behind them.
"Looks like we won't be able to escape the way we came in. There has to be another way out." Kido said as there was a purple mist emanating in different parts of the ruins.
"I was in such a rush earlier, I didn't notice the miasma all over the place." Seadall said.
"The creatures must have brought it with them, it certainly wasn't here before. Use my power to dispel the miasma and open a path for your allies." Corrin said.
"Use my power as well, Kido. Our Dragon Vein will help lead you and your darling friends to safety." Camilla said.
"Hmm." both Kido and Seadall said. "Emblem Engage!" they cried out as they engaged with their Emblems.
Using the power of the Dragon Vein, the two managed to clear away the miasma while they all fought off the Corrupted before reaching the end of the ruins.
"All right. We're safe." Alear said.
"Hang on. Someone's at the entrance." Timerra said.
"Is everyone OK? I saw all those monsters coming in and got worried." Veyle said as she approached.
"Veyle? How did… (No, wait. I remember that e-mail saying that Veyle has a dual-personality. It seems like her normal self is more dominant right now. It's best we don't mention anything that happened in Destinea Cathedral…)" David thought before regaining his train of thought. "I-it's good to see you, Veyle."
"Yeah… it's good to see you too." Veyle replied with a bit of unease. "Listen… When I woke up in the desert, I met a chronicler… and he told me everything."
"(Woz.)" Geiz thought in realization. "(Heh, why am I not surprised he's doing things behind our backs?)"
"Ah… So he already told you about your…split-personality?" Cheetah asked.
"...Yes. It's…honestly a bit scary." Veyle said. "Especially about what my dark self did back at the cathedral… I'm sorry."
"Shh-shh-shh… It's okay, Veyle. Don't worry. We'll get all of this sorted out, and we will get the rings back." Kokoro said as she came closer to Veyle, softly pulling her to a hug. "You must've been through so much under that other personality. I can imagine it hurts a lot."
"Veyle…" Alear said sadly.
"Okay…I think I've heard enough." Jexi said as he and the heroes started gathering up some supplies.
"What do you think you're doing?" Diamant asked.
"What else? We're going to move out and beat up that damn dragon." Jexi said.
"Hey, hold on a second!" Zi-O interrupted. "We need to get rid of Veyle's dark self first."
"No, no. It's okay." Veyle said.
"It's not okay!" Natsu called out.
"That guy…he's supposed to be your dad right? So what kind of dad gives his kid a dark side that enjoys killing? Huh?" Ranma said.
"The kind that has no empathy himself, that's what." David said.
"We were there for Alear when no one else even knew where she even was. So we'll do the same for you too." Dan said.
"But the question is how we can do that? This kind of sounds like a hard thing to do." Miu said.
"Well, we'll take her with us as we go back to Elusia." Theo said.
"Then we'll beat up that Fell Dragon and make him tell us how to do it." Natsu said.
"Don't you mean undo the dark self, Natsu?" Houki pointed out.
"First things first, we need to figure out a way to Elusia." Aelita said.
"There's a port in Firene. We can take a ship there." Alfred said.
"Then that's where we'll go next." Tsubasa noted. "But I think we should save that for tomorrow morning, it's getting late."
"Good point. We'll sleep tonight and then figure everything out tomorrow." Asta said.
"Just know this, Veyle. You're no longer alone." Ace said.
"Thank you… all of you." Veyle smiled.
"Oh yeah, almost forgot." Cure Starlight said. "Do you have an Emblem Ring with you, Veyle?"
"No. I think I left them all back at the castle." Veyle said.
"We'll worry about them soon enough. We still need one more before they are all awakened anyway." Kokoro said.
"Right, the Ring of the Azure Twins." Simon said.
"By the way, that was a good thing you did, Kokoro. Comforting Veyle like that." David said.
"It wasn't all me though." Kokoro said. "The heroes…they were the ones who actually went and did something."
"(Heh. Sorry Griss, but you're not getting to Veyle first.)" Zi-O thought with a smirk before glancing at Veyle. "(And we will protect her, no matter what.)"
That night, the group retired to the Somniel as they slept, well…most of them anyway.
"They look…so sweet." Aelita said as she, Dan and Luffy watched Alear sleep with Veyle next to her.
"Huh…this…kinda reminds me of that night during that first adventure." Dan said.
"Yeah. We snuck out that night too." Luffy said.
"Room for a few more?" a voice asked as Kokoro, Simon, Aether and Lumine approached.
"How are these two doing?" Kokoro asked.
"Still sleeping soundly." Aelita said.
"She's such a sweet girl." Aether said.
"Yeah…even when they're being pulled through a mystery portal." Luffy said.
"Yeah. Even…wait, what?" Dan said as they saw the two sinking into a mysterious portal.
"Oh no. This is not supposed to happen." Kokoro said.
"Hurry!" Simon said as he went to grab the two.
"Hang on!" Aether shouted.
"Don't let go!" Lumine also shouted.
"We're coming!" Luffy, Dan and Aelita said as all of them grabbed onto the duo only to disappear through the portal with them. Though as far as anyone would know, they would only vanish for a single night.
