This is the first part of the flashback to the story.
It was after Liu Kang's win and everyone was celebrating his victory against the evil sorcerer Shang Tsung when he came to the temple. "What are you doing here sorcerer?" Demanded Raiden.
"The Emperor sent me to challenge Earth Realm to one battle instead of the usual 10 winner takes all." He said, Raiden thought it over.
"You tell your master that he has his match." Said Liu Kang, Shang Tsung just smirked not knowing that Raiden had an 'Ace' up his sleeve.
"I must go and talk with the Elder Gods," Raiden said.
"Master Raiden, why? For guidance?"
"Perhaps, but I also want to make sure our chances are better than anything." With that, he disappeared in a flash of lightning.
He appeared in the middle of the Elder Gods' temple, "Elder Gods I have come to ask for our secret weapon." Said Raiden.
"Raiden, are you sure he is ready for this task?" They said.
"He had won the last ten before the Powers That Be took him and turn him into their fool."
"But what of those who were either in love with him or wanted to adopt them into their clans? Their memories were erased by the Powers."
"What better way for us to be involved?"
"Very well, Raiden. You may go and awaken their memories and bring us the 'Protector of Mankind'. Bring us ...Alexander Harris." Raiden bowed to them and disappeared.
In the Harris household Xander had just survived a beating by a group of vampires and was about to go to bed when all of a sudden, there was a flash of light, and right there before him stood a man dressed in all white he was around seven feet tall and had bright white eyes. "Uh, can I help you?" He said, the man just smiled at him.
"It has been a long time Alexander." He said, Xander's eyes widened. This guy knew who he was, he did look familiar like he knew him from somewhere.
"You know me?" Said Xander, Raiden was pissed.
'Oh, you are going to pay for this Powers.' He thought, 'You Will Pay!' "My name is Raiden, I am the Chinese Thunder god and protector of the realms." He said, "And I need your help, Alexander." Xander looked stunned.
"MY HELP?" He said.
"Yes, you see there is an attack about to happen on Earth by a group of evil beings but they are giving us a chance to defend ourselves by defeating their champions in 'mortal kombat'."
"I think you might need the Slayer for this."
"She is too weak to fight in this tournament."
"But why me? I'm a nobody."
"That was the fault of the Powers That Be. They be-spelled you into what you are and locked away your memories."
"My memories? You mean I did this before?"
"Yes, you were one of the greatest champions of the tournament. No one could beat you, but the Powers had heard about you. Sonya and Sindel wanted to adopt you and take you from your abusive parents but when the time came, you were missing and the Powers had you."
"So if what you are saying is true, then I could have my abilities back?"
"Yes, Alexander, all you have to do is agree to it."
"Then I do."
"So be it," he charged up and burned the Power influence away from him Xander had kept his normal height but he was as buffed as his legendary namesake. He was dressed in a short-sleeved denim shirt, cargo pants, boots, leather vest, and fingerless gloves. His hair was in a ponytail and his eyes glowed slightly. After they fade, he looked at Raiden.
"Master Raiden?"
"Yes Alex," the thunder god smiled.
"What's wrong? What's going on?"
"The Powers somehow turned everything on its head. We need you again."
"Mortal Kombat? Outworld again?"
"Yes," Xander went to get a trench coat and put it on.
"Let go take care of some business then." With that, they left and headed for Outworld.
Meanwhile, Kung Lao was fighting Kintaro as Liu Kang was fighting Goro when all of a sudden a portal opened up, and out stepped a young man with black hair in a ponytail, he was in a short-sleeved denim shirt, cargo pants, boots, leather vest, and fingerless gloves. Raiden was with him, Kitana, Jade, and Sonya looked over and smiled. Shao Khan looked over and was pissed, Liu Kang was in shock, Shang Tsung was scared and Kung Lao just smirked. Goro and Kintaro just roared, Xander looked around scanning everything.
"Look's like I have to teach some people some manners." He said as he cracked his knuckles. He slowly walked over to the Kang-Lao/Goro-Kintaro fight, punching his hand. "2 on 1? That's not fair!"
"SILENCE BOY!" Screamed Khan.
"I WASN'T TALKING ABOUT ME 'SKULL MONKEY'! I Was Talking About Them!" He rushed them and started in on Goro while kicking Kintaro away. "Time to get the fight rust off." He rolled his shoulders and got ready to fight. Goro got up and roared again.
"I WILL FINISH YOU HARRIS!" He said, Xander just told him to 'bring it'. They traded blows then Xander slid between the monster's legs, grabbed his ankles, and with all of his strength, face-planted him into the ground. Then he got up, flipped in mid-air and slammed both feet into his head, and double-stomped him.
"Finish THAT Big Boy!" Said Xander Goro slowly got up and charged him and tried to grab Xander but he missed Xander spun 3 back-fists in a row, hitting one back-fist hit the side of Goro's head, then a forward punch getting the other side and punching Goro in the chest breaking the rib cage. Then punched Goro in the stomach making him throw up. Goro then got mad and went at him as fast as he could.
But Xander was ready for him and lured him into a flying super uppercut flipping him head over ass into the crowd. Then he crotch chopped, to Khan "suck that Khannie!" He said. Then Kintaro went right for him and they went right at it, Kintaro blew fire at Xander and Xander dropped down barely missing the flames. Then he threw a stake at one of Kintaro's kneecaps shattering it. The tiger monster roared in pain, then grabbed his knee as he was bent down, Xander tried for an uppercut and Kintaro grabbed him Xander smirked. "Shouldn't done that Kinny," he pulled out a steel baseball bat and slammed it into his head. Sending blood and spit out of his mouth he dropped Xander the hero and swung again at Kintaro's ribs breaking half of them.
Then he slammed the bat down and got ready to go for it, Xander punch Kintaro in the stomach, Kintaro went stiff and Xander's fist went in up to his elbow and he pulled out Kintaro's small intestines, then kicked the monster away pulling more of the intestines out and pulling off the end of it, turned to Shao Khan, smiled and started to jump rope with the intestines. Then Khan slammed his fist onto his throne and rose to him. Xander dropped the intestines and stared him in the eye.
The others were in shock at what he did, Liu Kang was now mad. "Liu, there's nothing to be mad at." Said Kung Lao, "That is Alex Harris."
"Who The Hell Is Alex Harris?" Kung Lao was about to answer when Raiden did it for him.
"The previous winner of Mortal Kombat before you came along Liu Kang." He said.
"Well, Where Was He When We Needed Him?"
"He was taken by the Powers That Be and turned him into a fool for one of their warriors; a 'slayer'."
"He's the one you wanted to make sure won Mortal Kombat? He should've stayed the 'slayer's fool'!"
"So we meet again Khannie," said Xander. "I remember when you were a weakling and the bitch of Jarrod. But now look at you, 7 feet tall and still a wuss." Khan got mad.
"YOU WILL PAY FOR YOUR INSOLENCE BOY!"
"Boy? That's the second time you called me boy! Well, watch this 'boy' become a man and take you out. Bastard!" They went at it, blows were traded and the fight was on. Khan started to use his war hammer on Xander but he grabbed it and sent Khan flying through the air and into his throne twirled the hammer like it was a baton and then had it on his shoulder. Khan got up and was about to shoulder-charge him, Xander smirked.
"YOU WILL DIE!" Xander had the hammer like a bat. Once Khan was in range, he swung sending Khan flying threw the air, he bounced off the ground, and Xander lept in the air with the war hammer high and slammed it into Khan's chest. Khan spit out blood the war hammer crushing his chest.
"No Khannie, YOU will die," Xander said and dropped it on top of Khan. He turned around and was about to head back to the others when Liu Kang got into his face. "What's up, man? Do you need something?"
"Doesn't matter who you are! You're still a fool!" Said Liu Kang.
"But I was the one who beat two monsters and Khan. What about you? You see, I've been known to piss people off making them mad makes them sloppy. Call me when you grow up you spoiled brat!" With that, he left and Sonya and Kitana gave him a hug and a kiss.
