A/N - I'm not sure if this is true but it almost seems as if Naomi's ability in this story to retain two S+ rank Septima's (Azure Striker & Psychokinesis) was used in Azure Striker Gunvolt 3 for the VS Nova boss fight and fanfiction was referenced in the Teseo + Merak fight so it seems like my story was used. I'm not complaining I just feel like a thank you or credit would be appreciated if this is the case.
Naomi went back to the sanatorium and looked for Copen. She found him talking with Nori about some data he found.
"Hey, I got a prob and I was hopin ya could help me with it." Naomi spoke.
"I'll help you, but only under one condition. You tell me why you worked for the Sumeragi." Copen demanded.
"Cause I didn't have a choice, and I didn't know any of what they were doin was bad. I thought they were tryna find Adepts and help em." Naomi answered.
"How long did you work with them for?" Copen interrogated.
"I told ya that already, an ya only asked for me ta tell ya why I worked for the Sumeragi." Naomi smirked.
Copen glared at Naomi for a brief moment, expecting to see a bit of fear in his older sister's eyes. However, it seemed Naomi was telling the truth.
"So, have ya thought bout gettin a job? I know ya just turned fifteen an all but ya can't just keep usin the funds. You'll have ta make your own funds eventually." Naomi commented.
"If you're asking me to work for QUILL the answer's no. I know that I'll never be able to stop working since Adepts will appear even after I'm gone due to the genetic mutation. I haven't decided on a career yet." Copen replied.
"If ya want I can help ya find a job." Naomi offered.
"It's alright, I'll look for a job later." Copen denied.
"Aight, if ya say so." Naomi remarked before leaving.
When Naomi went back to work, she got a call. So she sat on the couch to answer it.
"Yello?" Naomi greeted.
"We've got a problem." Xana stated.
"Yeah, like how ya got my number." Naomi mumbled.
"Other than that, Viper's alive; I haven't found any trace of him on Lyoko." Xana informed.
Naomi's eyes went wide and her jaw was agape with shock.
"A-are ya sure?" Naomi worried.
"Unfortunately I am." Xana confirmed.
"Aight, I'll meet ya at the factory in a bit. I gotta tell the boss first." Naomi stated.
"No, you can't tell him. If you do, he'll know about Lyoko, every other QUILL agent will. We can't have that happen. They might call the police or think the sumeragi has something to do with it. They took over the Supercomputer once, they can do it again. Not to mention if the Supercomputer goes, I go too." Xana protested.
"They'll just think it's the Sumeragi's revival tech." Naomi assured.
"And since they'll think it's some Sumeragi technology they'll try to destroy it." Xana added.
"Yeah, but they won't know where it is." Naomi smirked.
"Alright, just don't tell them where the supercomputer is." Xana cautioned.
Naomi turned off her phone and walked over to Asimov.
"Um, I know ya might have a hard time with this, but I had a buddy of mine take out Viper. Though they told me he's been revived." Naomi spoke.
"Do you know where he is now?" Asimov interrogated.
Naomi shook her head.
"Neither of us do." Naomi sighed.
"We'll try to locate him from here. I'll call you or have someone else let you know if we find him." Moniqa elucidated.
"It's aight if I go home?" Naomi queried.
"There's no missions right now and we need to focus on finding Viper." Moniqa verified.
Naomi teleported home and sat in her room.
'Phew, least Nori hasn't ratted me out bout not takin the test. Prolly since she's been round 'ere for a while an she knows how I feel bout that kinda stuff'. Naomi thought.
Just then, Naomi received another call.
"Look Odd, if you're callin bout-" Naomi fumed.
"Who's Odd?" Arson interjected.
"Just a nickname for someone I know who's a complete nuisance. Well, other than you that is. So, whadda ya want?" Naomi replied.
"I saw you at work but as soon as you came, you were gone just as quick." Arson commented.
"That's cause I was hopin I wouldn't bump inta ya." Naomi muttered.
"So, are you doing anything right now?" Arson asked.
"Hangin up." Naomi snarled before hanging up her phone.
"Boss, can I ask you something?" Lola questioned.
"Sure." Naomi confirmed.
"Just how long did you work for the Sumeragi exactly?" Lola wondered.
"Since I was seven, was frozen with cryonics on my fourteenth birthday and locked up in there for fourteen years." Naomi explained.
"Yeah, it's a mental and physical fight. Still worried bout 'em. Ya don't think all the problems our folks have will fall on Copen's shoulders in a few years, do ya?" Naomi worried.
"I know that sons have a lot more on their shoulders. But maybe since you're an Adept it might fall on you in three years." Lola pondered.
"I'm not repeating the mistakes. 'Sides, I'm an Adept, the only way I could get a job other than workin for the Sumeragi 'gain is QUILL. If I go back ta workin for the Sumeragi, I'll have ta do what I was doin 'fore all this." Naomi explained.
"What was it like? The experimentation I mean." Lola added.
"Aw man, where do I even begin? It was heck an high water. That was 'I tried to scream and made no sound' gone literal. Ya wanna scream but you're in so much pain ya can't do nothin 'cept breathe. an even that's a challenge. I didn't wanna escape cause I thought dad would lose his job an mom would face backlash from the Sumeragi too. Can't have that happen." Naomi answered.
"You'll do a lot for family huh?" Lola noticed.
"Yeah, sometimes I like ta pretend I'm by myself without any relatives an that the only friends I got are at work so I don't worry bout anyone or anythin so I can stay cool an level headed." Naomi answered.
"Why not try thinking about everyone and how much they care about you instead?" Lola questioned.
"Cause then imma worry bout somethin happenin ta them, their problems, how ta help em with their problems, stuff like that." Naomi claimed.
"What are you going to do first?" Lola asked.
"I dunno, ya got any ideas?" Naomi hoped.
"No clue boss. Maybe we should focus on how Viper's alive again." Lola added.
"Yeah, I'm just hopin the boss won't think it's my fault or somethin." Naomi worried.
The truth was, Naomi knew how Viper was revived, partially anyways. She knew that Xana dumped him in the Digital Sea, but he shouldn't have been revived since a trip to the Digital Sea that didn't involve the Skid- or at least a Nav Skid- meant permanent deletion. However, Naomi soon remembered that while William was possessed by Xana, anytime he jumped into the Digital Sea, he wasn't devirtualized.
'Xana's duped us. I've gotta call the others'. Naomi noted before calling Jeremy on her phone.
"I think Xana's duped us." Naomi notified.
"How so" Jeremy wondered.
"Viper's still alive. You know how Xana took over William and when he jumped into the Digital Sea he wasn't devirtualized permanently?" Naomi added.
"Yeah." Jeremy confirmed.
"Well, Xana made Viper jump into the Digital Sea, but he wasn't permanently devirtualized. So either Xana's pulled a fast one on us or he made a clone of Viper so Mr. Schaeffer wouldn't get in trouble with the Sumeragi again." Naomi explained.
"I'll tell the others." Jeremy informed before ending the call.
Naomi texted Jeremy to meet her at the park before placing her phone in her front left pocket and teleported to the park cross roads. After everyone met up in the park, they decided since Franz encountered Agent Falcon that they should interview him.
