Just as Naomi stepped outside, she recieved a phone call from Jeremy and answered it.
"Hello?"
"Naomi, it's Jeremy; can you hear me?"
"Loud an clear Einstein."
"We're going on a field trip to the middle of a lake for two days. If you need help with any missions, you'll have to ask Xana."
"Aight, I got ya. I'm actually bout ta do some target practice with Copen. Might make him the target if he whacks me upside the head 'gain."
"Good luck, call if you need anything."
"Same with you, lemme know if anyone needs cheerin' up, I'll be here."
"Thanks." Jeremy spoke before ending the call as he was spotted by Jim.
Naomi was waiting outside with Lola, hoping to see if the EX weapons needed upgrading.
"Didn't Copen say he'd be out here already?" Lola questioned.
"Yeah, but he's got an extra heavy engine that's shot, an bout ta be shot another way." Naomi answered.
"I'm ready when you are." Copen notified as he set up the targets.
"Ay, can you move a bit?" Naomi inqueried.
Copen moved 10 inches to the left.
"Perfect." Naomi smirked as she aimed her gun at Copen who was completely unaware of what was going on.
"Stoop!" Mytyl hollered as she ran towards the two. Naomi lowered Dolor as she saw Mytyl standing in front of Copen, her eyes shut and arms stretched sideways.
"Why are you trying to shoot him!?" Mytyl fumed.
"I'm not! We're just gonna do some target practice!" Naomi stated.
"Well it looked like Copen was your target!"
"I was just gettin' ready ta shoot the engine!"
"Really!? Because it looks like you have your gun aimed at the person holding the engine!"
"I can't do anythin' cause the flippin' safety's off! See!?"
Naomi showed Mytyl where the safety switch was located and Mytyl was surprised to see that the safety was -in fact- off.
"Oh, sorry." Mytyl apologized.
"It's aight, that's usually how it goes anytime we see each other anyways." Naomi laughed.
"Why is that?"
"Huh, whadda ya mean?"
"Why do you two always fight anytime you see each other?"
"Oh, dang, dang it dang it shoot, ugh. Oh how do I explain this?"
I can't just tell her 'Well since I'm an Adept and Copen hates them he wants to kill me. Probably even more so because my ability was given to you when you were a baby in hopes of healing your legs and vocal cords but instead it made things worse. And dad thinks Adepts are monsters, so, yeah, there's that. There's no freakin way I can tell her that! The best thing to do for now is come up with a lie. Yeah, that's it.
"I work with a bunch of Adepts and he hates them with a burning passion apparently. So he feels like I betrayed them and therefore believes it's his duty to get rid a me." Naomi fibbed.
"That's not why and you know it." Copen stated.
"Sh! She doesn't know that! She doesn't even need to know!" Naomi whispered.
"Then why are you telling her that?"
"She asked and won't get off my tail unless I tell her!"
"She deserves the truth sis, we both know that."
As much as she hated to admit it, Naomi knew Copen was right. Mytyl was wrapped up in something awful that wasn't her fault. She had a right to the information as much as her, Copen or anyone else in their family.
"Maybe some other time." Naomi supposed.
"Ahem." Copen coughed.
Naomi turned around and saw her brother angrily glaring at her.
"Fine, I get it, have fun shootin' stuff by yourself, I'm goin back inside." Naomi rambled as she walked back towards the sanatorium.
Unfortunately, Copen had Lola use the Hydro Zapper on Naomi, which she dissipated with her Angered Explosion. Then he tried using Stellar Spark, which definitely didn't work against Azure Striker Adepts. Followed by the Hailstorm Blade, repelled by Angered Explosion again, Twintail Bunker against Gravity Well, Broad Circuit against Hydro Pressure, Ferrous Fangs against Azure Striker, Prism Break against Psychokinesis, even Vantage Raid against Spiral didn't seem to work.
"Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got important things ta do." Naomi huffed as she continued her -short- walk.
"I'll never understand her, or the reason for your bickering." Mytyl sighed.
"I'll tell you, but we might have to sit down since it'll take a bit to explain." Copen offered.
Mytyl nodded as the two sat down.
"So, you know how Naomi just dodged those attacks with her own?" Copen queried.
"Yeah." Mytyl confirmed.
"Those are called Septima's, anyone that's born attached to the seventh Lifewave has one."
"What's a Lifewave?"
"Lifewave's are different power levels given to beings like people or animals. Naomi's Lifewave level is either seven or possibly higher, though nothing higher than a seven's ever been seen. Her being attached to the seventh Lifewave should've only allowed her to have one Septima though."
"What does Septima have to do with the seventh Lifewave? Does it have something to do with her powers?"
"Her Septima's come from her connection to the seventh Lifewave. Average Adepts only have one."
"Adepts?"
"That's the term given to people who have Septima's. Some are born and others are artificially created."
"How's that?"
"People can be given Septimosome which allows them to harbor a Septima."
"And some people have a hatred towards Adepts; I should know, I'm lookin at one right now." Naomi announced as she revealed herself from the shadows with apple juice boxes and an orange juice box.
Naomi handed the apple juices boxes to Copen and Mytyl while keeping the orange juice for herself before sitting down.
"That's why you two fight so much?" Mytyl noted.
"Eh, not exactly. The reason he's mad bout it is because, ya know what, you tell 'er." Naomi added.
"You know more about it though." Copen remarked.
"Yeah but you're the one who's mad about it. He's alive again and you're still throwin' a dang hissy fit. You're worse than Merak." Naomi mocked.
"Did someone call me?" A male voice questioned.
